The food was really good I had the beef taco. I do wish it had a double tortilla just because it was supper full which is great I would just prefer two. The Mac and cheese was really good I would just prefer a bit more salt. The cookie was really good and they had plenty of parking because it’s in a shopping center! Overall it was good. I went back and tried the chicken nuggets, the crispy hot chicken sandwich and the strawberry pop. The chicken nuggets were not good at all the hot chicken sandwich was good and the pop was good it’s just the wicked brand which I wish I knew before buying.

Yesterday was my first time visiting and I’m glad I went. I ordered 1 vegan taco and Mac and Cheese. The cashier or server at the time suggested that I get two tacos (which I wanted), but I wasn’t able to purchase it because I had lost my job and couldn’t afford more at the moment.

After hearing this I received my order and a free cookie from Heather and felt seen and loved in that moment. She had no idea I wanted a cookie lol and she blessed me with it without knowing.

I pray that Jesus opens doors for both her and her sister. Feeling led to say that 3 more stores will open in Jesus name totaling 4 locations.

So happy to have run into this restaurant while in the shopping center! The menu is so attracting, and customer service was great! My food to go did not disappoint at all… got the Mediterranean Chickpea bowl… delicious and healthy! I took their catering menu so I can order for our next staff lunch meeting but also share with our pharmaceutical reps who often order lunch for us! 5 stars!!! I will be back…. My new lunch place while at work!!

No exaggeration this food is EXCELLENT! Had the Mediterranean Chickpea. Crispy, delicious and super filling!

But I didn't stop there I had to try the Mac and Cheese which by itself is GREAT (perfect texture and flavor). The addition of the fried onions on top? Next level.

My friend had the Burger and Sweet Potato Fries. He's not Vegan but CLEARED his plate, said he was surprised how great the food was!

Very pleasant service. Tasty drinks. Sauces are BOMB!

This was my first time going. I heard only good things and had to drive all the way from Sherman Oaks to try it. It did not disappoint! So amazingly delicious in every bite. Heather, Jenny and the staff great you with big smiles and the service is top notch! It’s definitely worth the drive. Oh and Mondays they give away pollinator plants!!!! Better come early the go fast.

Love this place! The food is so healthy yet delicious and I love how everything is made from scratch. The servers are so friendly. There's always lots of seating available both inside and outside and it's very comfortable! I love the Mac and cheese and the chickpea bowl. The dressing is so rich and creamy and flavorful. A group of friends celebrated a birthday this past Sunday at Hey Sunshine Kitchen and we all had a wonderful time. The food was so delicious. I loved the mac & cheese the most, this grilled onions really added to this dish. My hot chicken sandwich was delicious too. If I lived closer, I would be there more often!

This place is great! First, we were greeted by the friendly owner Heather, who gave us great suggestions. We had the strawberry mint lemonade and the blueberry lemonade and they were both freshly made and tasted delicious. For food we got the hot chicken sandwich, which was spicy and tasty, a side of Mac and cheese which was the best vegan Mac and cheese I've had, the sweet potato fries with the cilantro sauce, both delicious as well and the carnitas tacos, which were equally delicious. The portions are generous and everything just tasted so fresh! This was the first place I've been to where I didn't have a clear preference on the dishes because they were all so tasty! Really, really loved this place! I didn't get a full picture of the food because it was too good to stop for pictures 😂

Hey Sunshine Kitchen is a gem in Culver City, Los Angeles. The owners have been cooking vegan for many years and now opened a fast-food vegan restaurant. But it is not any vegan fast-food restaurant. All the items in the menu are aligned with the concept of a whole food plant-based diet deliciously served with home developed sauces! Just wow. Decided to give this place a try since I needed a meal before the gym. Had no idea this place was vegan and let me tell you. If you don t try, you are missing out. Everything was seasoned perfectly, the food at perfect temp. I m not a social person so ordering at the self-order machine is so genius! The owner was so kind and offered a sample of their Mac and cheese. Amazing service and food, feeling welcomed makes the experience better. Even if you aren t vegan, you will love this place!

I love this place! I have been coming here for about a year and it hits every time. I feel like the quality is actually getting better and better over time. This place was FANTASTIC! I came in for the first time not knowing what to get, but saw a sign outside saying that they had taco Tuesday, so I decided to get the tacos. It usually comes with two, but I got one of each, Baja Fish, Beef Crumbles, and Jackfruit Carnitas, they re all vegan. Oh, I also got a rainbow sparkle chocolate chip cookie cause I have a weakness for chocolate chip cookies. Heather, one of the owners, took my order. I talked with her a bit, she s such a sweetheart! The food was the rockstar though! The flavors were absolutely MMMazing! Each taco had its own unique and delicious flavor!!! And the cookie at the end was great too! Was perfect, just like a normal non-vegan cookie, even though it was vegan (I m pretty sure considering). All around GREAT little restaurant, I HIGHLY recommend! Also, the prices are very reasonable for being a vegan restaurant! Come try them, and sit down and eat here too, the vibe is great and the playlist was bomb! I am from Houston, Texas and visiting LA with my family, being vegetarians we decided to try this place and what an amazing experience we had. The hot chicken is really good and the jalapeño dip pears nicely. Sweet potato fries are quite tasty and the kids mac & cheese was also good(eaten by a two year old) Definitely looking forward to going back, my wife who isn t crazy about vegetarian/vegan restaurants also enjoyed it.

Super cute little place with excellent service and staff. Love that its female owned. It was my first time here, so I wanted to try a variety of items. Ordered 2 different bowls, the fish taco a side of cole slaw and the chickpea nuggets. Being primarily plant based for over 20 years, I was excited to try a few things. Sadly, the food I tried was disappointing. Everything was full of salt,oily, and lacked flavor. The wedges of limes tucked into the bowls and rolled in the fish taco were so dry that i couldnt even squeeze a single drop of juice. The moisture seeped through the compostable containers, including the to go bag it was all packaged in. Im sorry to say it was all pretty gross. The owners replied, acknowledging the moisture being an issue with the compoatable bowls for to go orders. One suggestion is to place a piece of corrugated cardboard inside the bottom of the carry out bag, and that would solve the mpisture problem from splitting the bag open. Dry limes that are not fresh and smell are worse than no limes at all.

Absolutely everything to love about HSK.....clean, friendly, and the owners are there much of the time to greet customers. The food is DELICIOUS! You literally cant go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorite is the chick pea patty, but the barbecue tofu is also to-die for. The owners choose very quality ingredients, and you can taste it. Be sure and take one of their cooking classes, and be prepared to learn a lot when you go, as they infuse participants with a lot of helpful information. Get to this affordable and excellently-customer-serviced restaurant ASAP.

This is one of my favorite places ever. Simple yet, flavorful menu. I typically get the chicken sandwich, so juicy and so consistent never disappoints! I also love their sunshine rice, it really matches the vibes of the restaurant and the lovely sisters that run it. My husband (a meat & dairy eater) and I (a vegan) give this restaurant the highest recommendation possible. Every menu item we both have tried has been fresh, delicious and quickly served. Between the two of us we have had sandwiches, tacos, built our own bowls, and enjoyed the sweets. The food comes out fast and on eco-friendly serving ware. They make the bus your own table system easy and earth friendly. The meat alternatives are hard to differentiate between real meat. As well as the dairy free offerings, like ranch and caesar dressings, or the delicious desserts. The atmosphere is bright, bubbly and relaxing. I m not very vegan friendly but, boy, did this place change my mind. I had no idea vegan food could taste this good! I had the Mediterranean Chickpea Bowl, one friend had the same but in a sandwich, and the other (an avid meat eater) had the cheese burger with sweet potato fries. All of us absolutely devoured our food (in my case, the portion was so huge, I took most of it to go), and were completely stuffed. This is probably the best vegan food I ve ever had! I was visiting from San Francisco and would LOVE to see you open up a restaurant in San Francisco. What are the chances?

It s a cute little restaurant. Woman-owned, which I love. And the food was so tasty and satisfying. I had their special crispy chicken bowl on greens. It was the perfect size. First time there with my fiancé and we not only were impressed by the clean and welcoming environment but also how nice the staff was from beginning to end. The food was INCREDIBLE. You can t go wrong with the nuggets with creamy jalapeño sauce as a side and the beefy bowl as an entree. Making your own bowl is also super simple, creative, and most important TASTY! Had a beautiful meal here. Not vegan, but was blown away by the meal. Even the kids were surprised and how much they loved the veggies and joked is this a dream? We ordered the backyard bbq tofu bowl. We liked the flavor of each of the components of the bowl (sweet potatoes, seasoned bowl, pickled veg, corn, bbq tofu ). It also just tasted refreshing. Really doing some magic with the veggies here. The kids were asking to come back to eat here Staff were really great to talk to about food allergies (identifying potential items, how it s prepared, checking ingredients). Thank you for your hospitality and kindness. Also recommend the gluten free brownie. This phenomenal vegan restaurant is in a casual dining setting but there is nothing casual about the carefully selected menu items, the cheerful color palette of the decor, and the kind warmth of every person who works there. The happy feeling of eating good food with nice people permeates the atmosphere, and that comes from the top, down. I even had a fun chat with an interesting woman at the table next to me. Hey, Sunshine s vibe seems to attract sunny people! I had their summer special Fried Chicken Picnic Bowl with a delicious ranch bbq dressing (yes, all vegan). It came on a bed of half rice, half salad (awesome option!). It was both sumptuous and satisfying - crispy chicken and layers of flavor from sauces and veggies. The menu has other items such as vegan carnitas and a mix-and-match of proteins, bases, veggies, and sauces to build your own bowl. And, next time, I m getting the chocolate cake for dessert! I also appreciate that there is plenty of free parking in the strip mall lot. For me, parking will sometimes determine where I want to go (yeah, I ve gotten soft regarding convenient parking) so extra points for that! I plan to go to Hey, Sunshine for healthy food and a happiness boost whenever I m back in the area. And, I encourage you to go too.

First time to this restaurant. Excellent and healthy plant-based food. Stands out among the rest. I had the cheeseburger. It was delicious, with the individual flavors of the burger coming together well and a nice crunch and texture. I also enjoyed the Chia brownie, which was flavorful and the perfect dessert. The food was really good I had the beef taco. I do wish it had a double tortilla just because it was supper full which is great I would just prefer two. The Mac and cheese was really good I would just prefer a bit more salt. The cookie was really good and they had plenty of parking because it s in a shopping center! Overall it was good. Vegan done right! Left satisfied, which if you eat plant-based you know can be a big ask when going out. Found this cafe by chance and will definitely be returning. Four of us; one gluten free vegan, one vegan and two who go along with whatever. Everyone found something that hit the spot. Our meat eater took one bite of the cheeseburger and was blown away by how good it was. Legit! Everything is fresh, full of flavor and really fills you up. I tried HEYSUNSHINE KITCHEN for the first time and now Im kicking myself for not visiting sooner! One of the best in Los Angeles. We had the chickpea nugget, chickpea bowl and the mac and cheese; all of these items were a 10/10. Not only is HEYSUNSHINE kitchen delicious but its better for you, a refreshing departure from all the greasy spoon, plant based burger joints in LA. I absolutely love this place! It is located in a shopping center and very easy to find parking. This is a small business that is owned by two lovely sisters! Everything is non-GMO and vegan, and there are plenty of gluten-free options as well. We were kindly greeted by one of the sisters and she was so sweet to us. She had such lovely energy. The place was very clean new and comfortable. Let s talk food! I ordered basically all the desserts and they were all delicious! The lemon berry cake was the best out of all the desserts. So fluffy and fresh. The white chocolate berry ice cream was my second fave it s by the brand Wicked. I m not used to having white chocolate since it s not so common in vegan goodies and it was definitely a treat. Mac & cheese was great. The onions on top def made it even better and I mixed it with a little bit of their ranch. The Caesar bowl was DELICIOUS. It had so many toppings from pickled onions, rice, pinenuts, sweet potatoes and more. The food came out very quickly too. You can t go wrong with anything on the menu. Also, this food didn t make me feel sluggish. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hey Sunshine Kitchen, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish! The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff was really friendly. The food is so good! Each dish is thoughtfully crafted, and you can taste the quality and care put into every bite. I particularly enjoyed the new crispy chicken picnic bowl, which was delicious and crunchy. I kept asking myself is this really vegan food? Wow- this might be my new favorite veggie forward/plant based restaurant in LA. The food was so fresh, and delicious. Nothing felt like I was missing an animal product in any way. Even my brother who is a die hard red meat eater cleared his Classic Burger so fast! Fresh from scratch patties with pea protein. So good it makes other meat substitute attempts look silly. The chickpea burger was fantastic- crispy too! Lemonades, bowls and desserts were amazing. I m coming back. Just try this place- both vegan and non vegan alike will be stoked.

I only write the truth, try to remain positive. I got food poisoning from the dish I ate here (I eat one meal per day so Im sure it was from this establishment. Secondly the atmosphere was great I enjoyed it, nice people and interior. However when I mentioned I wasnt fully vegan the server immediately took a negative tone on me. Usually I dont care but the snyde remark well hopefully youll commit to veganism soon so you can do your part in ending animal torture actually upset me enough to make this review. The food wasnt horrible tasting, if it didnt give me food poisoning Id give it an honest 3 stars.

Today was my second visit and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The owners are sisters, which I find makes this place even more special than the delicious food. I cant recall her name, but the sister that has been at the front taking the orders each time is incredibly sweet and radiates good energy. The food is made quickly, tastes delicious and is a great portion for the price. They deserve 10 stars!

No exaggeration this food is EXCELLENT! Had the Mediterranean Chickpea. Crispy, delicious and super filling! But I didnt stop there I had to try the Mac and Cheese which by itself is GREAT (perfect texture and flavor). The addition of the fried onions on top? Next level. My friend had the Burger and Sweet Potato Fries. Hes not Vegan but CLEARED his plate, said he was surprised how great the food was! Very pleasant service. Tasty drinks. Sauces are BOMB! This restaurant is a major mic drop in the LA plant-based food world. They have elevated the food quality to new levels, especially in a time when vegan often means processed yuck and nothing real. The food here is good like the food your grandma made, real food, absolutely made with love. The women who own this restaurant are so nice and friendly. I can t wait to go back here. Oh and there is even easy, free parking! I expect this place to go wild and have restaurants open in other cities soon. Really next level. This was my first time going. I heard only good things and had to drive all the way from Sherman Oaks to try it. It did not disappoint! So amazingly delicious in every bite. This place is great! First, we were greeted by the friendly owner Heather, who gave us great suggestions. We had the strawberry mint lemonade and the blueberry lemonade and they were both freshly made and tasted delicious. For food we got the hot chicken sandwich, which was spicy and tasty, a side of Mac and cheese which was the best vegan Mac and cheese Ive had, the sweet potato fries with the cilantro sauce, both delicious as well and the carnitas tacos, which were equally delicious. The portions are generous and everything just tasted so fresh! This was the first place Ive been to where I didnt have a clear preference on the dishes because they were all so tasty! I ve eaten here and gotten delivery and the food has always been solid and delicious. Don t be fooled by the plant based menu. It doesn t make you miss meat at all. The nuggets with jalapeño crema are a must. Any of the bowls and salads are so yummy. The spicy chicken sandwich tastes like the real deal. The portions are generous and quite filling. My husband and I were in LA for the weekend and had the pleasure of eating here for a late lunch Sunday afternoon. I have been primarily plant-based for almost 7 years and if I dreamed up my perfect vegan restaurant: this is it! Healthy options, comfort options, and everything in between. The food was amazing: so fresh, creative, and flavorful. I had the bbq tofu bowl with 1/2 lettuce & 1/2 rice and my husband had the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. We tried 1/2 blueberry lemonade with 1/2 green tea - recommend! We truly would like to try every item on the menu & my husband said it may be the best vegan restaurant we ve ever been to. This has to be one of the best bowls I ve ever had. I chose sunshine rice with the chickpea patty, sweet potato, tomato, broccoli, cauliflower, and corn, and every single ingredient was so tasty!! If I lived close by I think I d eat here every day! The cookie was also delicious, super warm and soft. Not to mention everyone who works there is SUPER friendly and interacting with them brightened my day.

Had their spicy crispy chicken burger. So good ! Love the fried onions in it. I ordered a side of fries but tbh I think the burger was big enough to eat alone. My husband got the Cesar salad and carrot soup. While he said it didn t actually taste like a Cesar salad, he said it was still very good and filling (I guess that dressing is hard to replicate well since he said a good dressing will have anchovies in it). There was rice inside the salad which was really yummy. Soup was great too ! Will be going back to try more ! Only bad thing is their water cups are too small !

For the skeptics: Im not a vegetarian or a vegan. I just like good food. And thats what this is (along with friendly service in a nice spot). We got a hot chicken sandwich and an avocado crunch bowl salad. The sandwich is perfectly crispy, actually has kick to it, and - for those who really need it - does taste like a chicken sandwich.
