We are in LA this week to catch a Dodgers game and decided to get some breakfast here yesterday .. it was a great dining experience from the bear decor outside and inside to the little gift shop set to the bear theme of the restaurant to the friendly service, and the taste and amount of food served .. my wife LOVED the potatoes as they were seasoned "perfectly" .. my wife even bought me a PAPA BEAR shirt to remind us of the meal .. we wished that there was a location in the Atlanta area

This place is a gem. As soon as you walk in you'll see all their merchandise. The stuffed bears are adorable. Breakfast is delicious! Big servings, so if you're not planning on taking any home look for the "little less breakfast" options on the menu. The menu is in the style of a newspaper 📰 which is pretty cool the first time I saw it. Lunch menu is great. The chicken club sandwich is my favorite for lunch with their sauces that will be on the table. Haven't tried their dinner yet, but everything looks so good. Diner style seats if your going to dine alone. Plenty of tables and booths for any size group. Awesome table service, friendly staff, nicely decorated. Always full on the weekends. It's worth the wait I promise! Restrooms are located straight ahead from the entrance. Get the app to see how the plates look, the menu at the restaurant do not have pictures.

Stumbled onto this place passing through LA. Best tri tip sandwich I've ever had. Definitely add the melted cheese and caramelized onions.
Terrific diner atmosphere and cool woodsy decor...kind of strange to find in the concrete jungle, but a little imagination that you're in the Pacific Northwest or a mountain town makes it better.
Service was excellent. Very friendly and personable.

We came here because we liked the one in Torrance so much. Our waitress was cool, chill, had a great way to slide in mimosas. If we were to come back we would specifically ask for her. The Torrance location is a bit cleaner and food a little bit better, but otherwise it we still got what we expected, quickly, and hot. This place is our date night staple! I love everything thing about this restaurant! The servers know us here and are always so amazing! Even having our chocolate malt ready when we finish our meals. The food is priced so well considering just how much food you get! A lot! I love the taco salad in the taco bowl shell! Just delicious! Highly recommend ❤️

Food is always delicious, but theres two ladies that work here that are always rude. The older lady that sits you down always has a serious face and looks bothered by large groups. Then, theres a young lady that usually charges you and also has a bothered looking face; the same young lady that for being in a bad mood charged us the wrong table one time and had to get her manager to process a refund of almost $100. It was only then her attitude changed. As for the other workers, they are always super friendly and welcoming!

Black Bear Diner have been come our favorite family diner stop because of great service and friendly staff and incredible food with big potions that you feed a Grizzlie Bear instead of a Black Bear. My wife and I enjoy theme of the restaurant all bears decor any Bear and any shape. Black Bear Diner served breakfast,lunch and dinner and the food is amazing good made from scratch and made to order. We enjoy breakfast very much they make breakfast the most meal in the morning they the breakfast hardly and big portions. The same they do for lunch and dinner.

After years lived near by I took decision to have my lunch in this resturant! After I had my lunch I put the money with tip on the table and left then outside of resturant front of other customers resturant employees chased me and called me: ma m are you gonna to pay? I said: yes I put your money on the table next to your receipt like any other resturant that I go! she fave me a suspicious look and left! they even didnt check that I put the money with tip on the table and they chased me like I ate and didnt pay my lunch! I told loud: what kind of customer service do you have?! And other customers who were leaving the resturant laughed at this situation! Anyway the resturant employees dont seems trained well about their job! I never had this experience that somebody chase me and very loudly asked me to pay while I already paid! By the way if they dont trust to their customers they can take money before they give them food! There is too mnany classy resturants around with delicious foods I dont have to come back here. Though the quality of their foods are good but a good customer service is essential!

I order via door dash .. a new York steak breakfast and a country fried steak breakfast .. the steak was dry , nothing had any flavor whatsoever .. I spent 80$ and Im literally sad. Im going to take it all back . It was nasty .. 0/10

horrible place to eat. we went here because the one in buena park is horrible. so i took time stamps because i was not expecting anything different. this was on a thur, at 7:30pm they were almost empty 7:21 we were sat 7:35 drink and food order was taken 2 tables seated after us got their food 8:08 we asked for a manager 8:13 manger can out he said out food was done its out right now we left and out to that place down under. thankfully our night was saved. that 2nd place wen went to we were seated and gone with in 45 minutes.

First time eating at this establishment and Ill definitely be dining here again. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. The food portions were generous and delicious; better than Ihop Id say. Plus the wait wasnt long between getting seated, ordering our food, and it being brought to us. As I sat and waited for our food I was looking around and appreciating the decor and I noticed the staff move about taking orders etc and noticed that they all seem extremely attentive and friendly. Quite honestly from experience that tends to be the rarity and its probably a testament to the management and great establishment. Highly recommend

Exactly what we were looking for which was a friendly diner with options for smaller meals and a large variety of menu offerings since we didnt know what we wanted but knew we wanted to go to a diner. Waitress was friendly, food was good and came out hot and quick. Tables were clean, NOT sticky. Cute interior too. Had the a healthy scramble with toast and everything was very flavorful.

I really did enjoy my time here at black bear dinner. I came on a date with my girlfriend and it was such a great time. Our server mike was really good and funny to be around. This is the last straw and Im not coming anymore, I kept coming back because the food is great, homestyle food... but the service from these ladies horrible, they always forget some item I requested, they get annoyed if you need to bother them for something basic like straws. I requested napkins and all I got was 3 whole napkins for a party of 7. They need to FIRE the entire stank face waitresses and get a new crew. The hostess is great by the way, they usually are.

This place was great. I came here after my Graduation on June 7th, 2024 after being told by BJs wed have to wait an hour before being seated. The place was relatively empty. We were sat down immediately and the waitress was nice and patient for the rest of our party to arrive. Overall satisfying experience aside from one problem. My mother had a piece of zip tie in her food which she bit into without knowing. Despite this the manager apologized immediately and offered us a new plate for free and removed the fee for the original dish without us even having to ask for it. Food was delicious. I recommend it if youre looking for a quick breakfast spot with little to no customers and satisfactory customer service

Wait time to be seated, was super long, wait staff was not very pleasent or attentive. Really enjoyed other black bear locations so its disappointing. After we were seated waited over 20 minutes before waitress came to take our order and another 35 to get our food. Will not be returning to this particular location.

The so called complimentary Birthday Meal is a complete and deceitful scam. I told the waitress I had a coupon and showed it to her and she said the cashier would scan it at the register. I chose from the pancakes, waffles and french toast section just like the coupon said. I had stuffed French toast. I got up to the cashier and she said it didnt cover what I ordered. WTH! I felt like I had been duped. Looking back, I should have called the manager but I was so shocked and angry. DO NOT give people a coupon that you do not intend to honor. My first time @ Black Bear Diner. I was hungry & wanted to order everything on their huge menu. Got the blueberry pancakes. They were covered in lots of blueberries.deliciious. Employees are very nice . Its a casual coffee house atmosphere great place to bring your family. Prices are very reasonable & affordable. Serving sizes for everything are generous. Highly recommend.

THE REASON WHY I REMOVED THE 5 STARS IS BECAUSE OF THE TERRIBLE SERVICE WE RECEIVED TODAY 5/22/24 FROM THE WAITRESS, EMELY V. She has no way to serve the customers, she needs training, she grabbed the order as if she could It was urgent to go to his breakfast, he brought the coffee almost after finishing eating and my son asked for the dressing 3 times and he never brought it, it was the most unpleasant breakfast I have ever had in this place, it had already happened to me on a holiday I understand those a lot of work days, but today is incomprehensible, since NO ONE WAS COMING TO SEE IF EVERYTHING IS WELL, Manager with complete respect WHERE ARE YOU AT THOSE MOMENTS

Always love coming to Black Bear Diner. Came here for Mothers Day breakfast, very packed as expected which is no issue. I ve visited this location in particular various times and always get awesome service. This day the service was very bad, not being checked on, slamming plates on table when being served, etc. It was very busy which I think played a big part in the service. The establishment is very clean but I couldn t help but notice a dead, dry rat which seems to have gotten stuck behind the sign trying to get a snack. Very disturbing sight to see especially when just eating there. Hoping the inside of the kitchen isn t the same.

We went on a Friday at 4:40 . Was seated did not place our order for about 15 or 20 minutes. We told the waitress what we wanted. It took about 20 minutes for our drinks then had to ask for our salad. And silverware. Then had to ask her to look for our dinner, when it came out one dinner was right mine was wrong, she had to go and have the cook to fix it by the time i got mine my partner was done. I was so upset I just wanted to get out. They try to make it up my taken it off but it was too late.
