The prices and quality of food are both better at the whittier location. The price increase is not reflected on the food you receive. Stick to the original whittier location if you enjoy the food here.

It was my second time at this place, the first time the service was not good, but my daughter insisted that I give it a second chance, but unfortunately, my experience with the food was not pleasant. We ordered, WAFFLES WITH CHICKEN, the chicken was super dry at all. Juicy, it looked more like chicken crackling and salty, not even my grandson who eats everything ate it, they have to be more careful in what they serve, since we live off of the customers, I mean we live for I also work in a restaurant and for the customers the best, Where the supervisor is, well there is also supervisor to supervisor, there are some who only work to work and others love their job, personally I will never eat there again, I dont know if because they have clients they dont pay attention to some points What a disappointment only my daughter ate her burgers, the chicken was so-so

The food here was great, I had the fried chicken sandwich and was stuffed. Portions are very large so bring your appetite or plan to share. Our only issue is Mimosas are NOT INCLUDED with a purchase like the menu says. We got the bill and they had charged us for the $28 specialty mimosa. Every other restaurant that says included with purchase means its free. Poor communication and our server didnt know what the policy was when we asked and even admitted that its not clear.

The experience from beginning to end was beyond amazing. Not only is the ambiance tranquil and soothing, but very lively. While the prices are a bit on the medium range, the food more than makes up for it. The food is hearty and flavourful. The BBQ Pulled Chicken sandwich was delicious, albeit a tad messy to eat. The Esquites platter was such a great appetizer. The drinks were exactly as described and incredibly enjoyable. The staff was also kind and diligent. The service alone is worth coming back. Ill definitely be coming here regularly. Parking: The parking is located behind the restaurant. As soon as you turn right onto the property there is plenty of parking in the back. Wheelchair accessibility: This is wheelchair accessible parking and entrance. Their venue itself is spacious and youre able to fit in a wheelchair or a stroller next to the tables. The ground is flat and easily maneuverable as well as the restrooms. The sinks are low as well.

Visited this Downey location for the first time on one of the hottest days this summer. Once we were seated by a waitress she placed the menus on the table and walked away. Waited over 15-20 before we were able to call a waitress over to ask for her to take our order and ask for something to drink. No A/C only some ceiling fans blowing warm air. Food was ok. Prices were good. Service was horrible. Waitresses only came around once after we received our order. Had to ask for box for my daughter s food it was brought to the table and she disappeared so quick before I could ask for the check. Took several minutes to track her down to get the check. Definitely won t visit this location again. 1/4 chicken & cucumber salad rate 4/10 Chicken waffle sandwich with fries 6/10 Parking: Limited parking lot. Hard to turn around tight space at end of parking. Needed a parking attendant.

Let me tell you about this place. Chicken and waffles please, delicious The food was delicious, the drink was 100%, the bartender had excellent service, and the staff was super friendly. He came like five times to our table to check on us. We went early, around 2:30, for lunch; the space was nice, not casual or formal. I will return for Mimosas pitchers from 11:00-3:00, the cheapest.

1st time going to this place. Ordered apps fried pickles and some sort of empanadas. They came out late and limp. The empanadas were cold and rubbery. Already ordered dinner, garlic Fried chicken. Came out very undercooked and bloody.smh. I damn near vomited all over the bar. I would not recommend this place thus chicken has flown the Koop.. bartender were cool. Word was that had new cooks. They should be fired. Thumbs down.

It was good. Just a bit pricey for chicken sandwiches. My husband and I each had the grilled chicken sandwich. We shared the fried pickles and I bought a soda. Soda comes in a can so no refills. My husband had water. With tip we paid $70. Honestly, Id rather eat the chicken sandwich from Portos. It tastes better and costs less than $10.

Unfortunately, our experience wasnt great. This place serves barely fried pickles that I wouldnt even call fried pickles. Dont order fried pickles from here, especially for $12. The service was great, but the food was a miss as the chicken was dry. Perhaps they were very busy so didnt pay much attention to what they were preparing and serving. This place is great for its variety of chicken dishes, they have it all, but the location is poor (very small parking lot) and the food is a hit or miss. Parking: Very limited spaces in a tiny free lot.

Ambience at the Downey location is great - it s an indoor/outdoor vibe with a nice bar set up and plenty of tables. The parking lot is too small to support the potential crowd or the size of the establishment. Got lucky and got a spot but this could easily be a barrier to entry. Some reviews mentioned costly valet but it was self park on a Wednesday evening. The food was so below par. The chicken in the Cuban plate was excruciatingly dry. It needed the liquid from the beans for it to be palatable. There were random corn kernels in my beans as well. My partner ordered the shawarma plate and his hummus was a tad gritty - definitely not smooth. We ate the fried pickles ($12 mind you) and wow they were barely even fried. This dish was not worth $12. Stay away from it. My napkin was dirty (stained). One of my plates was chipped. The server was fine - we did get the wrong sauces for the shawarma plate but he brought us the correct ones afterward. The Whittier location has better tasting food, but has a different vibe. I will not be going back to the downey location. Parking: Entrance and exit the same way. Not enough spots.

The food at the location in Whittier is always delicious. The Downey location is closer so I went there. The food was good, service satisfactory. Atmosphere- larger dining space with a nice patio but the tables are too small. Unfortunately the music was too loud and the drinks all too expensive for the serving size. I had the Chicken and Waffles and they are good (much better than Roscoes Chicken and Waffles). Meals delivered to other tables looked great. Will be back.

First time here and we were not disappointed! Ordered the Brunch breakfast sandwich with fries and a side of platanos maduros. My daughter ordered the chicken & waffles (with tenders instead of fried chicken) with a side of whip cream which were also really good. The whip cream tasted like it was just whipped up in the kitchen. Definitely coming back. Parking: Parking is valet only which I didnt like because they require a $7 valet fee just to park there. That was my only gripe.

This is my 1st time coming here. I love the atmosphere. The service is great. I ordered a Cadillac margarita... delicious . The waffle, yummy . As for the chicken, I dont know what parts were on my plate, it wasnt presentable and the taste was bland. The chicken taquitos were very dry and plain. Paying $7 for valet parking at noontime is insane. I suggest coming here for drinks only, you wont be disappointed.

The Chicken Koop was a pleasant surprise. I went with my sister on Sunday and we got there just after brunch, so it was still kind of crowded, but we didn t have to wait to be seated. Since it was our first time being there, we didn t know what to order so it took us a little bit of time with the menu, we wound up ordering two flights of margaritas so that we could compare the flavors since there s about 14 flavors to choose from. As appetizers, we ordered the taquitos and the wonton loaded nachos. Having nachos made from wontons is the best idea ever. The wonton chips were flaky, crispy, and light all at the same time. The fact that they were loaded with black beans, sour cream, chicken, jalapeños, and cheese just made everything wonderful. The taquitos were flavorful and light as well. As an entrée, we shared a half plate of chicken with the corn and fries and this was roasted chicken with garlic sauce. Very tasty. We had such a good time and the food was so good. I went back the next day on Monday and brought my son and we had dinner there after school. Needless to say he enjoyed the food just as much as we did the day before. We did not have flights of course because he s under age, but we did have nonalcoholic margaritas and those were exceptional. Also, the music made the atmosphere so much more welcoming. We enjoyed all of the music being played. There was even a table of patrons that knew and sang just about every song that came on while we were there. I enthusiastically recommend the chicken coop. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was welcoming. The music was great. The drinks were awesome. I d give it a 8.5 out of 10 because of course there s always room for improvement.

Like everyone else did not expect to pay for valet parking. Still the anxiety of the experience was enough to go thru all the way. It was a cold and windy day so outside seating was not an option. Inside seating was about an hour. Once more wife and daughter in tow we were willing to see what the hype was all about. We requested to sit at the bar, very fancy adorned with quality tequila bottles, until a table was available. Fascinating idea to sit for an hour at he bar salivating. And here s the final punch, as the receptionist so kindly stated, Once you sit at the bar you will not get a table . What a disappointment right . So all three of head out straight thru the door. So can t rate the food, service, prices and valet service. Guess I ll never have a chance to. By the way, how can you pay for valet service when you re next to a Burger King???

They should advertise this The Chicken Koop as a luxury version of the other locations. Only valet parking of $7. Which is fine because other places charge over $10 for valet. I have been to the location in Whittier. Which is outstanding and the food is really good... I was really surprised at the Downey location that the parking is all valet parking and they were charging $7. There is ample parking at that area, I think its really unfair to charge $7 for valet parking at a place that serves chicken... I mean, its not a nightclub or a high end restaurant. The location in Whittier does not have vallet parking. So I was confused. The sad thing is theres an Autozone and a Burger King whos Chicken Koops patrons were parking at since there is no parking on Paramount itself. And Im guessing that these businesses are gonna have the chicken koops patrons parking here.. I saw more than a handful parking at these other businesses and walking to the chicken koop... well, good luck to them... but thats a good way to deter customers... impose a 7$ charge to park your car. Smh.. signed, disappointed!

Downey Location. We got there for Breakfast at 11:00AM OPENING time. The Brunch is not really a Brunch Buffet it a time to order certain drinks at a certain price. I thought we were having a brunch breakfast but thats not what they offer Sat-Sun. Small parking lot so later time crowds may have an slight issue with parking. I had the Grilled Chx sandwich with garlic fries 10+ my friend had the Chx and waffles the Chx were chix tenders was the recommendation, she didnt care for the tenders as much she said no flavor? Go with the regular Chx. They filled up fast with customer so you may have to use valet service. Our Server was incredibly nice attentive and very conversational she did an excellent job. The food was hot on delivery to the table and the atmosphere outside with the heat lamps were perfect. Very clean and upscale, but no TVs they dont want to be a Sports bar lounge type atmosphere. The Drinks were very strong not weak. Would go again Strong recommendation. Parking: Parking is tight Free if you get there before the valet sets up. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes the do have it

2/9/24 First off we did not sit to eat but I ve been to the one in Whittier so I thought it would be a good experience. Wrong. we go in they take our take-out order we order for 3 total of $50 that s fine cool not the problem go back to pick up the order we tell the guy cleaning the door glass that we are there to pick up the order he asks what s the name under I said they didn t ask I gave mine and my gfs name he then starts saying random names to us I told him they didn t ask for a name. my thought is don t be sarcastic with us when no one asked for a name then my gf is pointing at our order and he cuts her off ignores her tells her hold on lady and starts yelling into the kitchen window our names and it s there s no dam name in the order because we told him we walked in to put the order and wasn t by phone. I thought it would be filled with nice people like Whittier s location but I was wrong then they asked what sauces or sides we gave when we ordered guess what checked our order in the car and had to go back inside to get our sides. I know we did take out but don t treat people differently just because theyre not getting seated. Do better I would say. And Whittier s location is where I would drive to after this. Don t talk to people that way the older guy with glasses and a hat was talking into the kitchen window when his staff did not get a name for the order as we repeatedly told him. Food chicken is not the same portions are better in Whittier paying extra for sides and getting 6 pcs of cut chicken No. Dam I was excited to have one 2 blocks away.

They told us 45mins-1 hr, they seated up after 1 hr 20mins. As for food, I ordered sweet and sour chicken sliders, they were pretty good and had a good kick to them and not overwhelmingly spicy 5/5, the mac n cheese 0/5, skip it! It tasted bland, not cheesy at all, and the macaroni was miniature, it looked straightout the kraft box. I ordered a cucumber agua Fresca 1/5, it was watered down and hardly tasted like cucumber. We were seated in the outdoor patio. It was a nice setup with heaters in case its cold. I would not return.

Its very much a insta marketed place to eat. The food, which was a minimum of $15 a plate, is mid . On top of the fact that you cant park in their lot without leaving it with the valet($10) it just was not it. Wouldn t go back or recommend it to anyone.

Food was good, but the drinks were very watered down, especially when youre paying $15 per drink. The staff was friendly, but the service was just ok. We were told wed have an hour wait, but we were seated in about 10 minutes which was a plus. The worst part of the experience was that parking is valet ONLY. They block off the adjacent parking lot with employees cars, which actually belongs to the bank. It leads you to believe the valet is the only parking available. Upon arrival they do tell you its valet, but the price is not posted anywhere and they dont give you a price until you come to retrieve your car, at which time they tell you it will be $10. $10!? I dont even pay that much for valet at a fancy steak restaurant, let alone a middle range restaurant in Downey of all places. So disappointed with my experience. I wont be returning. Id rather drive to Whittier where parking is free and the drinks are stronger.

The place is not that big, so expect to wait. Food is a little expensive, its not a fast food chicken restaurant. Its more like a bar/ chicken spot. Food takes a while to get to you after ordering, not sure if its because they need more people in the kitchen or because it was busy. They dont have a lot of servers, it seems. Parking: Small parking lot. Theres two other businesses next door that people are using as parking.

Horrible management, if you call they dont answer their phone. They take forever to resolve any issue and they have hire employees only to use them and then fire them whenever they want. Nobody should eat here or work here. Disgusting French friend and gravy dish just as nasty as management and boss named Michelle Le Blanc.

We recently tried this place for the first time. They recently built this location and OMG it is beautiful. It has outdoor patio seating and some indoor seating as well. The ambience is really nice and the food was amazing. Our Waitress Veronica did a great job helping us select the right food for us as I am not really able to do super spicy. I wish I could be selfish and keep this spot to myself, but I won t do that. 10/10 I would recommend!
