This place has such a great vibe, bar tenders were awesome, they had a live band on Sun afternoon. Multiple screens to watch games, ping pong table in the back. Different areas to sit, stand walk around.
Nachos were ok. Hence the 3stars. Drinks were great.

I had an amazing experience at American Junkie while visiting from Canada! From the atmosphere to the service, everything was top-notch. My server and bartender, Elle, was not only kind and professional, but she also crafted one of the best mezcal beverages I’ve ever had. It was truly out of this world—unlike anything I’ve tasted before!

First time to Hermosa beach and this restaurant. An amazing place. We opted for outdoor seating and we went for dinner. Food was wonderful. Potato tarts were crispy. Veggie Pizza was awesome and very tasty. Mango Jalapeño Margarita was wonderful. Food was fresh and clean. Lot of Vegetarian options which made it a perfect evening.

Service was excellent. Special shout out to Tiffany. Was very kind and patient in taking our orders, serving and constant follow-up to check if we doing good. The attitude and tone of service is highly appreciable.

There was dance floor with music in the back and it was a treat. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting Hermosa beach.

American Junkie in Hermosa Beach is a must-visit spot for a casual cocktail, lunch or dinner. We stopped by during a beach bike ride and it was the perfect pit stop. This place has great views from their outdoor patio seating. We enjoyed a beer & spicy margarita in the sunshine, with a nice breeze, and lots of people watching.

We shared some buffalo wings, which had just the right amount of spice and crunch + the classic cheeseburger which was juicy and cooked to perfection

The service was friendly, prompt, and our server was very attentive. The prices are also reasonable given the great views and tasty food.

Whether you're strolling the strand, cycling around Hermosa, or just looking for a solid casual dining experience, American Junkie is a great spot!

Our server Kristine was a sweetheart and her coworker Rafael was so awesome! Great people! And the food was even better! Got shrimp tacos, wings (Buffalo and honey jalapeño), a burger and fries. We enjoyed and ate all of it! Definitely would eat here again and recommend this place to anyone in the area.

This is a fun place! The drinks are super tasty, super friendly wait staff, and the best chicken tenders and chicken wings I have had in a long time. Both the tenders and wings are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The live music is a nice touch. There is also a ping pong ball table. Definitely would recommend this place for a quick bite!

Food was all mid. $0.75 wing deal is for boneless wings only. Boneless wings were served room temp. Sauces were decent, but not thick enough, so the boneless wings were drowned in sauce that wasnt sticking to the chicken. Also had a pizza and mozzarella sticks...which were both mid. Service was fine, but my drink order was completely skipped and then they didnt have the frozen margaritas ready. Also no one ever came by to turn on heater after we asked multiple times. Vibes were fine but other places near by had fire in the tables and love music, so by comparison it was clearly lower tier on vibes. Wouldnt come back if Im ever around Hermosa Beach again.

Since when did American Junkie become 21+ only just to get food? Wanted to go with some friends and family, 15 of us, and they denied us because not everyone was 21+. Mind you this was 6:30 PM on a Saturday. Im shocked. Everyone was going to order food, and the adults were going to get drinks and it was empty inside. Its a bummer because its a great location and a great space. There is no need for restaurants on Hermosa Pier to be exclusive to people under 21 before 8:00. Ridiculous.

Apparently, the American junkie will not serve lunch or dinner to anyone under 21 unless they are accompanied by their parents I can t find anything that states that on their website but they refused to serve food to my daughter and her two friends at 5 PM on a Wednesday night because they were 18 years old good to know that athletes participating in all the junior and collegiate beach volleyball tournaments are not welcome.

Went here for a work gathering. Place was empty at 3pm. Food is ok, just regular bar food. My cocktail was really good though, it was the Cucumber one. They also have a ping pong table in the back .

I went for the soccer game. I was 2 hours early. The lady took 20 minutes to take our order. We got moved to another spot since investors reserved the spot we were at. The next waitress took way longer to get our order and she only took our order because I tracked her down. The drunk fools behind us spilled beer on us and didnt get kicked out even though they were spilling beer on me and on others. Point is dont go there during game days

The food was pretty good, but service was very poor. The host was courteous enough to let us know before sitting down that it was taking about an hour for food to be prepared; however, upon being seated everything including drinks was taking extreme amounts of time and our waitress seemed to be actively avoiding us. After taking our order, the waitress checked on us one time and I asked for sweetener for iced tea and she said she would get it. She never returned with the sweetener and the next time I saw her she was handing me a check. We were there for 90+ minutes and never received refills, silverware, or the sweetener.

Came in and was not attended promptly. I have an infant and it took about 15 minutes to be attended. I was not attended until I got the attention of a server and she acted surprised. She took my order for drinks and came back saying that we would wait 35 minutes for food . A total of 50 minutes just to receive food and she came back empty handed with no drinks ?! What a joke of a server .They should really have a hostess to really guide people and let the servers know that people are waiting to be attended, on top of that they told me that they wont honor the daily specials because its a holiday. As a business, you should be aware that people will hold you accountable for your prices and your advertisement. This company did not care and I spoke with the manager, and he seem not to care to make things right as well . Definitely will be taking my business elsewhere for memorial day weekend and the future with my family . We will not be coming back due to their lack of respect and customer service. I would think a business would care to keep and grow their customer base . Seems to me like this manager and business owner are blinded by money and greed dont care about building relationship with people of the community .

Stopped by during Happy Hour for a quick drink before dinner. My friend order an Aperol Spritz. I ordered the Happy Hour Cab. The Spritz was weak, i.e., lacking in Aperol. The Cab was one of the worst wines I ve sampled in years. No hints of tobacco, berries, or leather, just dirty shoe leather. I added in some Coke to make a Kalimotxo, but the Coke could not even help make the wine enjoyable or drinkable.

The food was good, the live music was good. My only issue is that apparently after 10, the drink prices increase by $2, though it is not written anywhere on the menu or website. This feel predatory and shady as hell. You should inform your customers of any price changes that will happen through out the night. Dont showcase your happy hour, but hide the price hikes that happen later. Edit: I think the bartender was aware of my frustration with the hidden price hikes and gave me a shot on the house. Very nice of her, so I do appreciate her service. Edit2: the manager came over to me to explain that it is a city mandate that all bars and taverns increase their prices after 10. While it is a city mandate, I do feel that management has a responsibility to inform customers of this price change and what time it starts. If I had been paying with my card, I wouldnt have known about the price increase until I had already bought a couple of drinks.

The best bar on the strand. Hands down. This is a place you take your family, and your friends, and you go to dance. Its amazing. Go on Thursday for the $5 pizzas and bingo, Wednesday for trivia, Tuesday for tacos, or Monday for burgers. Weekends are great for clubbing! The mamitaritas were amazing. I am very sad they are gone. But after talking with the owner about why it was discontinued, I understand, and still promote this fine establishment.

Great music. Definitely a gentrified nightclub (great atmosphere) I m giving this place 1 star for service, I noticed this place wasn t charging women that came single. I came with my girlfriend so of course I was charged for both. If I would ve know I would ve let her walk in alone. In a generation where women want equality, why not make it actually equal and make them pay too, or have no cover. They also weren t counting how many heads were in and out, and the cover was cash only. I m pretty sure tax write offs must be simple when you don t report how many people actually pay for the cover.

I recently went to American Junkie with a group of 12 friends. We were seated quickly, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and he made sure that we had everything we needed. We started our meal with appetizers, which were delicious. For our main course, we ordered a variety of dishes, including the burger, pizzas, and the tacos. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous. For drinks, we ordered a variety of craft beers, cocktails, and wine. The drinks were all well-made, and the prices were reasonable. The music at American Junkie is a good mix which had us dancing in our seats and in between our booths. We all had a great time getting up and moving around. Overall, we had a wonderful time at American Junkie. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. We would definitely recommend this bar to anyone looking for a fun night out.

I want to shout out to Art, at this location, I ll straight out say I live 3,000 miles away in NY state, I ve never been to this location, or California in my life as of yet, and someone attempted to defraud my credit card at this location, he went above and beyond to look into this and called me back with an update and advice, as well as thank me for the potential heads up of them being defrauded too. The bouncers will lie to you at the entrance. They will charge and tell you a different story and charge me money for 10 minutes before they close. Not recommended, staff is rude and will make you regret your decision of coming to this place. Please go to the place across street, is better.

Terrible service. Will never be going back- waited to order a drink at the bar for 30 mins. Bartenders did not make an effort to serve their customers. When I asked if I could order a drink one of the bartenders with long blonde hair (male) got angry with me and said can t you see I m helping someone else . After that I left because your staff were not willing to serve and extremely rude. You guys need to do better hiring your staff with all due respect :)) It s a bar for a reason. restaurant discriminates against disabled people.. service dog handlers especially. your restaurant being crowded isn t an excuse. these dogs are HIGHLY trained to be in crowds, and are considered medically necessary. my dog has stood in crowds for shows at disney, and the crowds were so tight that we could barely move; trust me, the crowds in your restaurant would be a CAKE WALK for these dogs. my service dog can navigate a crowd better than any human ive ever met. it is an ADA/civil rights violation to discriminate against customers who use service dogs or any other type of medical equipment (wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, etc). do better before you end up with a major lawsuit and/or shut down by the DOJ. shameful. to make someone so incredibly uncomfortable in your business that they leave crying is unacceptable. i hope your business gets shut down. you clearly do not care about federal law.

I have to say that the service was really good at this sports bar, the wait staff/bartender was very friendly. Unfortunately the food was not very good. I ordered the supreme pizza and it arrives 5 minutes later. Ive had pizza a million times and this was probably one of the worst. The bathroom was clogged with throw up in the sink. The doorman, the manager, everybody in this place is very friendly, and also the customers are friendly, but everything else was terrible.

I recommend their burgers, chicken tenders, personal pizza (Thursdays), chicken avocado bowl, cobb salad, chicken tenders, tater tots, giant pretzel, and tacos. Taco Tuesdays are awesome there as well!

I came here randomly and I was so surprised how great this spot is. Ill be coming back! If you come you have to spin the wheel! Mixed crowd and 2 different rooms for different vibes. Low cover charge! I sat on the big chair it was my throne for a minute lol

Great prices and great atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and it was a pleasant experience to be able to sit out and have modelo time by the beach. The bathrooms are tucked away in the far left corner of the restaurant and I only put that because every single customer that had to use the bathroom (including myself) wandered around anxiously and aimlessly while they searched for a place to relieve themselves. 10/10

I dare you to name a better combination. Taco tuesday all you can eat tacos for $8 and happy hour is a match made in heaven. Hot fresh food, lots of variety, delicious salsas and toppings. You simply cant go wrong. The junkie cup is pretty delicious and at happy hour prices more enjoyable. If your looking for a great wing special I highly recommend 50c wing Wednesdays. Mt favorite wings would have to be the honey jalapeño but you cant go wrong with any of their flavors.

If I can give them zero starts I will. This place has bad customer service and no communication at all. One of the waiters let my cousins and I in to have a seat at a table. Another waiter comes in and told us to get out since some of us are not 21 and over in a rude way. If this restaurant is a 21 and over, have a SIGN outside before letting us in.

Bad, they wouldn t let us eat just because we weren t 21 even tho we weren t drinking, so we went to a better place, the hostess was nice but the bigger white guy was extremely rude and blunt, basically kicked us out

Went to this place to grab some food after walking around the beach in the afternoon. We seat ourselves since theres a sign that says so, and we pass a waitress who greets us. We sit down, and not even 5 minutes later, another server comes out and asks us if were 21. Only two of us were over, but we only came for the food. The server rudely told us well then you guys all need to leave. There was no sign saying that we needed to be 21, and if there was a rule, he couldve told us politely.

Do NOT recommend. Management is horrible and none of the staff were on the same page. We heard so many different things from different employees which left us with confusion and miscommunication/ wrong information. Do not recommend whatsoever unless you like a chaotic and unorganized business

First time to Hermosa beach and this restaurant. An amazing place. We opted for outdoor seating and we went for dinner. Food was wonderful. Potato tarts were crispy. Veggie Pizza was awesome and very tasty. Mango Jalapeño Margarita was wonderful. Food was fresh and clean. Lot of Vegetarian options which made it a perfect evening. Service was excellent. Special shout out to Tiffany. Was very kind and patient in taking our orders, serving and constant follow-up to check if we doing good. The attitude and tone of service is highly appreciable. There was dance floor with music in the back and it was a treat. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting Hermosa beach.

Had the brisket burger. Meat tasted very similar to any other high quality burger. Good burger, not the best Ive ever had, but its definitely good. Fries were good. Friendly staff, comphy seats, big screens with the game. What else do you want?

The vibe and music in this place was really dope. The food isnt too expensive compared to local businesses and it tasted pretty decent. One thing that could improve though is the treatment from the waiters. Wasnt much communication throughout our stay and I was rushed to place my order even though they werent closing for over an hour. If you want some good American food then Id definitely try this place out!!!

Me and a friend came to junkies earlier today, Danielle was great and the drinks were perfect But who stole the show was rj! He was so urgent. normally if it s not your server the other employees aren t attentive but he was! Told him I was going to leave a review sadly he let me know he wouldn t be working there anymore, sad to see but truly a great employee! And it didn t hurt that he was so handsome!

0 stars. Extremely rude staff despite having good looking food. Waitress made us chase her for everything and actively avoided our table. Took over an hour to get a check or a box and the waitress didnt know any of the menu and lied about various menu items. Dont waste precious vacation time here!

Brought my siblings into town and tried grabbing dinner at 8pm with them. Was told at the host table that we weren t allowed in because we weren t all 21 (my siblings are 16 and 18) but was rude and wouldn t explain the age policy. We took our money across the street to Brews Hall and had an amazing night and dinner!

This place might get a bad rap but Covid times have separated the men from the boys when it comes to fun bars. This spot seems to have recently been embraced by more locals and has a great dace floor. Get here before 10:30 to avoid the line.

Only one stall available in the women s restroom. The other stall has been down since Thursday. Charging us all of this money for drinks but the women s bathroom isn t fully available. Not to mention one of the male workers came inside of the women s bathroom to wash his hands smh. I ve been coming to this place for years but I don t know if I ll be back again after this experience.

Had a great burger with fresh kettle chips, and it was great! Make sure you try the BBQ sauce, it was the perfect mix of sweet and tangy! Also, the staff were all great!

We went to American junkies for dinner after a day at the beach but what we got was depressing ... my kids water and burger had HAIR in it! Also when I wanted a drink our waitress straight up IGNORES US. I suggest you find a better place to spend your time and money.
