Homemade pasta! Excellent sauces and generous portions! Small local restaurant, the decor is pretty, little touches of elegance, along with beautiful woodwork within the restaurant make it feel above average. Seating, however, was a bit cramped. Felt like I was sharing a table with the two separate families on either side of us, this was a bit awkward for me with no separation between the tables other than the small space to get into your seat. Our server was not overly friendly, but very efficient and professional. She definitely knew the menu and was helpful in choosing between two dishes for me :-)
The place was very clean, and the time of day we went was perfect, just before the dinner rush!
This seems to be a local staple that we somehow just never came across! Definitely not fast food, and if you're used to something like Olive garden this is going to feel like top notch!
The gnocchi was absolutely wonderful with pesto sauce!
I definitely recommend the food, but in the future we will be ordering takeout for a more private dining experience.

My friends who live in San Diego came here the first time and they all agreed that this is very cute restaurant and location. The foods are exellent and big vollumm. The staffs are very nice. We surelly come back.

I shouldn't even write this review... too many people will discover this gem and overrun it!
Starting with the food, every time I've eaten here, the quality and consistency have been superb. I hate it when I eat somewhere once, have a great meal, but when I go back it's like a different restaurant. Not at this place! The quality, the presentation and portions have been amazing every time. The salmon salad pictured is the best In SoCal. The fresh gnocchi cannot be beat.
Next, the service... the staff is well trained, attentive and timely. I have never had to flag someone down to place an order, get more bread, a drink or the check. One of the reasons for that is amazing , hard working managers, like Tony! Anytime you see a manager on the floor working as hard to support the wait staff, I know it'll be a good service experience.
Lastly, cost vs value, Spumoni can hardly be beat. Portion size is definitely 2 meals worth and with every penny they charge. Which is why I'm not going to mention their happy hour deal...4:30-6pm daily... which is almost absurd. You'll have to go find out for yourself!

I ordered online and it took 40 minutes. I was expecting to experience true and authentic Italian Alfredo. The pasta was severely undercooked, had an orange appearance to it. I had to add salt and fresh garlic to the dish. The pasta was dry, not enough Alfredo sauce and the chicken was not fresh it’s clearly processed. It saddens me so much to be this disappointed. I paid 30$ for the Alfredo with chicken and a side of bread. I’ve had better Alfredo from local pizza joints that don’t specialize in authentic Italian foods.
When picking up the food the place was lively and beautifully decorated. They had a live singer and many folks drinking (which I’m sure covered up the lack of flavors in the food).
For 30$ I guess I expected it to be perfect. I mean, it’s only pasta, parm, garlic, and chicken. How did it get so bad. I didn’t even finish it, I just threw it away. I’m hoping today was just a bad night for them. But I won’t be back.

We were intending to go to an Irish pub because it was St Patrick’s Day. We failed to find an Irish pub that we liked so we went on looking for other places. Spumoni just happened to be on our view so we decided to turn right towards the parking and promptly got inside the Trattoria.

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this place is. The only slight drawback is that it is located at the corner of two busy streets, thus the noise outside.

Food is the biggest discovery. It was wonderful.

Ambiance, they made the most of what they could given the location. It may seem to fall short but I still give them 5 stars for the effort of trying what they could. Oh, they have an in-house performer. That added much to help keep this place authentic and unique.

Outrageous corkage fee!!

My wife and I have eaten here several times over the years. We have friends who like to eat here when they visit.

Last night we went there to celebrate a birthday as a party of 5 and brought a bottle of wine as we have on many occasions in the past. One person ordered a glass of Chardonnay and the other a soft drink. We all ordered full entrees and desert.

Spumoni used to have free corkage for the first bottle of wine and then $10 for each additional bottle.

Not anymore!! We were shocked to see a $20 corkage fee for the one bottle of wine!! That is a massive increase from the past (just earlier this year) and just plain greedy. Only fine dining restaurants can justify a $20 corkage fee - not a casual Italian restaurant! Especially given that almost all of the local Italian restaurants have either a no corkage, or at most $10 corkage fee!

You have shot yourselves in the foot - you get one chance to be greedy with us. We used to eat there regularly as we just live up the street. However, your greed gave us indigestion. Next time we will be dining elsewhere.

Highly recommended spot for great Italian food! The service was very efficient and everyone was friendly. The food was excellent. Long over due review... mostly order delivery/ carry out, but very charming cozy Italian restaurant. Top quality ingredients and consistently wonderful preparation. Have not explored enough of the menu as we cant get past our favorites. My son and I love the pizza, spaghetti bolagnase, and Matteos salad. Im sure everything else is good, but we crave these... Coming from a short getaway, I was craving a specialty pizza from out of town and while it wasnt on the menu they were more than accommodating in recreating what turned out to be a very tasty pie! Thank you for your wonderful service and consistently tasty, fully nourishing meals!

I never really complain about bad service, but our experience this evening warrants a bad review. To start off the night we did not receive a warm welcome when asking for a table. Our waitress was extremely pushy, especially with the drink order. She rushed us and became impatient and annoyed while my son was deciding on what to drink. He had his heart set on a Shirley temple, however the restaurant ran out soda so it took him some time to decide. After the drinks were put in, we ordered our food. Both of our boys wanted French fries with their dinners, but roasted vegetables came out with their meals instead. When we prompted the waitress about this mix up, she became argumentative and tried to place them blame on us stating that we ordered vegetables. The staff ended up bringing us a small plate of fries because that is what we originally ordered! We got the fries, however the tension between our table and the waitress was very clear so I wasn t surprised when they had another waitress bring us the bill. Glancing over the bill I saw that they tried to charge us for the plate of fries, which was annoying because the waitress got the order wrong the first time. As I brought it up to the second waitress she asked our original one, who then tried to blame the kitchen staff for her mistake. She could not even own up to it, nor did she apologize for situation. What is most upsetting about the entire experience is that we came here to celebrate my dad s birthday. We were very much looking forward to our evening because we have been here before and had an entirely different experience compared to our last visit. I would expect this level of customer service at a fast food chain like jack in box, not at a family restaurant . If you are looking for a nice Italian dining experience then keep on looking because you will not find it here.

Immediately scored high on the ambience meter with live jazz music playing. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. Our food was served quickly. Excellent in-house made pastas and gnocchis. Delicious flavors and seasoned to perfection. Our New York style pizza was also very good. I find Italian places in the US are so hit and miss, but Spumoni s did not disappoint. Will eat here again on our next trip to Redondo Beach.

This place is always a pleasure to go to especially on a Monday while they have their happy hour that is basically 50% off the menu minus alcohol and desserts, I believe. Perfect place for a date night or just a good bite of Italian but be for-warned that the bread basket will always arrive to your table at different times. Some days you might get the bread before you food and most of the time will be after your main course arrives. Parking: Shopping lot center parking is available.

My roommate took me there for my first time and were starting to sit at the bar and was informed by the bartender/manager Monica in case the name doesn t match the the photo says it all! she said, we should sit at a table because of a recent yelp review and she probably wouldn t serve us! Tony the server made up for the bad experience! But, I ll be informing all my inter community friends and colleagues of my experience, which includes the real estate industry, which post the best restaurants in the area. Beside the bad vibe by the host and bartender, the food was fabulous!

Really poor service. I live around the corner. Called on Sunday, May 21, 2023 to place an order for pick up. The lady who picked up the phone refused to take my order because the restaurant opens at 5 and she is not capable of writing down my order on apiece of paper to put into point of sale system at 5 pm. I hope the owner of this franchise reads this because I WILL NEVER OREDR AGAIN AND WILL TELL MY NEIGHBORS. good luck!!

We arrived at 6pm on a Monday for a birthday celebration. I know with the 50% off it can get crazy so we decided to go and put our names on the list but they have a policy where you cant be seated until your whole party is here which is fine. Our whole party doesnt arrive until 6:50 to which I let the hostess know and she said it will be another 45 minutes until a table for 6 opens up. To which I see a four top then a two top with one individual sitting there and 2 more two tops on the other side of her open. So I ask the hostess if I can ask the one individual if she could move to one of the other 2 tops so we can push these together and get six top. She says 100% sure now worries. Well Monica who was the manager told the lady that she absolutely wont be moving and they dont ask guests to move. To which I told her I asked your hostess she said I could I then asked the lady and she was more than happy to move. The only one Unhappy was Monica. I went back to the nice lady and said the wont let her move and she says That ridiculous Im happy too Monica saw me talking to the guest again and came over and the women lied to Monica and said she offered to move and that she insisted to which Monica begrudgingly relented and allowed us to do it. After that whole debacle the service was atrocious, Waiting 45 minutes for our appetizers, Wrong items/Missing items on our salads, We asked for goat cheese on the salad which she brought out blue cheese and when we told her we think its blue cheese she said they dont even serve that. *Spoiler it was blue cheese*. We asked for the check 3 times and for boxes twice, The didnt have any large boxes just small boxes so we had to cram our food into 4 small boxes. Just ALL around an awful experience. Will not go back.

Horrible service! I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Wouldn t let party seat because we are missing ONE person on my party of 6, so they gave out our tabe that we had been waiting for more then 45 minutes!!! Rude staff, hostess and manager, and overall frustrating experience in my birthday party, for me and for my guests! Even after my reservation was accepted on the website, someone called me saying that they only made reservations for Friday and Saturday, but that I could go straight to the restaurant and I wouldnt have any problems! Ive had problems in the past with the same employees, but I decided to return because I like the food! I will never go back and I DO NOT recommend it, in addition to my guests having the same opinion! Lack of respect!

The live soft music and quiet atmosphere of this restaurant is quite enjoyable. The pesto gnocchi was really good and I ended up taking it home. However, the mussels in my appitizer smelled bad and had a very unpleasant fishy taste. I would advise to not eat seafood here, as the quality is questionable.

First time visiting this local gem on a Sunday evening. The fresh, warm bread and olive tapenade were perfect to start. We had the prosciutto and burrata which was light and perfect for an appetizer. We both had the homemade Pappardelle Porcini and it had a great balance of sauce to noodles and was very flavorful. We ended our meal with the amazing tiramisu! Portion sizes were generous and would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. Parking: Located in the shopping center on the corner of Aviation and Prospect. Plenty of parking, great location!

Great Italian-American cuisine at reasonable prices. The food is bold and flavorful. I had fresh-made cavatelli with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe in a white wine sauce. My friend had pappardelle with porcini mushrooms. Both were excellent. As was the wine and amaro. Bravo!

The three of us truly enjoyed our meals. Weve been here over a half dozen times over the last three years and maybe one time, one person did not think their meal was as good as they expected. Otherwise, its wonderful. The pasta is freshly made. Gnocchi is a specialty. There is outside dining but inside is cozier.

Are you been to spumoni at least a handful of times. From ordering takeout to dining in. And the pizza there is pretty good and the pasta there is also pretty good. To me the pasta is missing some salt. This has been consistent a few times that I ve been there. The pizza is a good New York style pizza. I personally prefer a different kind of pizza better. I like the crispy, send crust pizza that is done in a pizza oven. The salads are also so so. Find it interesting that they put carrots on a salad that probably shouldn t have any. But that s my personal opinion. Takeout is just as good as dine in. Overall it s pretty good. Definitely on the more expensive end

The food is delicious and portions are generous. My family has ordered many things off the menu and weve never been disappointed. My only complaint is that the bartender is very rude. If they had a friendlier bartender I would be there more often. Love the guy they have singing Frank Sinatra and other old tunes. They also need to keep blue cheese stuffed olives in their bar. The martini is on their menu but every time Ive ordered it they didnt have the olives.

Monday nights 50% off from 5pm to 9pm. They have gluten free penne pasta ($2 extra) but the waitress said they cook it in the same water as the gluten pasta. Why bother having gluten free pasta if you serve it contaminated with gluten?? Thats why only 3 stars. Service was great. Food tasted great.

This has quickly become one of our favorite dinner spots for my wife and I. In 24 years of living in LA, I cant think of another Italian restaurant here that I was truly excited to go to like this one. This place has a neighborhood charm without pretense, excellent service, friendly staff, and delicious pasta. The pasta carbonara is the best Ive ever had, and I recently tried the hand-made gnocchi with wild mushrooms. It was incredible. The cocktails are also really good and generously poured. This place is a neighborhood gem.

I had special pastas and asked the waiter for a good wine and he nailed it with a borolo recommendation. The pasta was al dente and one of the best meals I have ever eaten. I bought a gift certificate from the store at Christmas just to have an excuse to come back and see it again (assuming she invites me! hahaha). I cannot say how much I enjoyed dinner and how much I hope to return.

This is not about the food which is good. This is about how I was treated. At 6:45pm there was a line of six people. Went to put my name and was told it would be a two hour wait. I thank them and said No. As I left another person came to put their name in and was told it would be FIFTEEN MINUTES. I was shocked. I ask the people waiting and they were told ten fifteen . I AM A PERSON OF COLOR AND I HAS SHOCKED. Shame ON YOU.

Food was delicious. The calamari was tender and not oily for being fried. I ordered the gnocchi cardinale and it was delicious. For desert we got the tiramisu. We didnt plan to finish it, but before we knew it, it was gone.

Probably my favorite Italian restaurant. While Im not a big fan of pasta, I love Spumonis -- especially their Bolognese. Their pepperoni pizza is probably one of the best versions of NEW YORK STYLE that we have in the South Bay (2nd place: Bonellos in Torrance). And of course, there is their Spumoni ice-cream which I love. I highly recommend giving Spumonis a try, if you havent already.

Looks good and I m sure would have tasted nice if hot. 50 min for delivery that is a 10 min drive. Pizza was not hot - not sure if they deliver in heated bags. Cheese gnocchi - was lukewarm - at best and for for $17-$18 I would have expected something that looks better than this. Very Disappointed & avoid if you can.

Love love love this place!! The Staff is so sweet, the food is bomb!! I recommend the Shrimp limine, and the Lamb chops!! We go every WK, Havent had a bad time ever!!!

Most of entrees very good. Alfredo gnocchi was over cooked. Service was pretty good! Would go there again.

Food was very good. My wife had pizza, and loved it. I had the special of the day, Chilean Sea Bass, and it was very good. Atmosphere is fine but on a busy corner. Great local place but dont expect a view. Will return to try many other items.

Great selection of home made gnocchi and pasta. Could be the best chicken parm we ve had, but we substituted pasta for potatoes. Love the outdoor seating. Service was great and very responsive

Ravioli with ricotta cheese in bologanise sauce was cooked to perfection. Hostess promptly seated us and gave us menus . We ordered the ravioli bologanise and marsella chicken. The marsella sauce was also perfect and perfectly prepared with the moist and tender chicken breast. Spumoni is definitely the place to get your Italian meal. Easily earned 5 stars across the board.

I sent an email to ChowNow with the issue below. ChowNow teamed with Spumoni to make things right. We will give them another try. Arrived 1/2 early to find the food was a little warmer than room temperature. The staff said the food had been waiting for 10 minutes. After ordering through ChowNow I noticed I was not given the Restaurant promo price. Also AFTER ordering the page said the order would be ready at 7:57. That s a 2hour wait! I tried calling the restaurant to cancel for over an hour only to get a busy signal the entire time. The ChowNow website wouldn t update my order to cancel. The page said, You have no orders...yet!

This is my go to restaurant for small familial get togethers. I had my Valentines Day dinner with my family here and well what can I say? The young lady who seemed to be in charge treated us excellent and made sure to seat us as soon as there was a table available. I went with the minestrone soup as an appetizer and special for the day which was lobster ravioli . We were well attended despite the food rush, the restaurant was busy but our server always made sure to check up on our table. We will most certainly be coming back we loved the outdoor dining set up the heat lamps kept us warm and cozy despite the cold weather.

Food was absolutely amazing! I ve driven by this establishment and finally decided to take the plunge and give them a chance. Portions were large which is a rarity in this low carb/ low calorie city. If I m paying $15+ for a plate of pasta then I expect to at least gain 2 pant sizes by the end of the meal. Their Alfredo sauce was creamy and bold. The fried calamari, BEAUTIFUL. Not too battered and not too rubbery. My girlfriend loved the truffle infused sauce on her pasta, which I have to agree was delightful. TL; DR large portions and exceptional food.

Amazing Za with generous toppings!!! Please support this place during Covid because it is truly fresh delicous food and I selfishly never want them to close. The staff is friendly too. You will love it! One of the best gluten free pizzas that I have ever had.

We had a regular and gluten free pizza at our table and both were delicious! Im looking forward to trying more pastas! We tried the Mezza Luna and it was spoonfuls of fall in every bite.

Ordered the filet of sole and a pizza pie through Ubereats.. Before opening the container I can already smell a strong fish odor, I decided to try it anyways due to the expensive price tag and before I knew it I had a mouthful of fishbones I wanted to puke! How gross is that! I have never had bones in sole fish before. This was my first time trying out this establishment and It will be my last.

Actually, I would rate the food and the patio ambiance a 4+. The service is what was lacking. When we arrived we were not greeted in a friendly manner and was told that the 50% Monday Madness was only good for take-out and delivery. I think the coupon should have been honored. The corkage fee was supposed to be $7 and we were charged $10. The server was not very attentive and a bit off-putting. The food is excellent. There was plenty if seafood in the Lingine Pescatore. This was the second time I was there and was disappointed by the service. Food was great. Staff needs some training.

A great big thank you to Spumoni for being there when we needed them. Today we celebrated a birthday with delicious gnocchi and Pappardelle Porcini, plus their Italian salad, and a slice of chocolate cake. Great food and made for a great get together (with distancing). Thank you.

We visited our daughter today in Redondo Beach and decided to eat Italian for dinner. We normally hit the Manhattan Beach area for Italian food but my daughter told us there is a new Italian restaurant has just opened near her. Without hesitation, we all agreed to try a new restaurant. Upon arrival, we were surprised how much buzz this place has. With lovely music playing, we already felt this place was the right restaurant for us. I have to tell you, we made the right decision to eat here. Besides the big portion, the restaurant has fantastic Italian foods. I am very particular about my pasta being al dente. They have done a good job on the pasta which was chewy yet with right firmness. The sauce is even better with creamy and flavorful taste. We ordered the penne with chicken in Alfredo sauce and capellini checca. Both are wonderful foods and I feel I havent had such good Italian food for a long time until now. We also saw other tables ordered the pasta cook on a cheese drum. I guess we should try this out next time to experience the unique dinner format. Dessert seems to be on everyones order list, so we tried their tiramisu. I have to say this tiramisu is one of the best I have ever had. Will be back to try other dishes on the menu

Very friendly place with authentic Sicilian dishes. A word of warning: they do run out of some dishes so make sure you have an alternative ready! Also their corkage fee is only $7 so feel free to bring your own! Expanded my tests to include Bronzino, Pasta special with salmon, crab, and asparagus. All perfectly cooked, with the Bronzino filet being performed at the table. NOTE: Monday night is half-price dinner night!!

Service was great. The food was very good but not spectacular. At that price point, I would suggest a small side of pasta with the entrees (which also might encourage future pasta sales) and I would definitely hope they cut back on the Frank Sinatra. It was a 100% and a lot of his songs are dirges. But overall, nicely done

So nice to have a real Italian restaurant that is family owned and operated here in the south bay. Excellent lamb chops and the side vegetables were cooked perfectly. Good house wine and the pastas were FABULOUS. t This is now our go to for Italian.
