The South Bay’s original gastropub.
I went in on this past Sunday (August 4th) in the early afternoon... after wondering the streets looking for parking. Helpful hint: they have limited parking in the rear. I didn't know this before I arrived so I parked on the street down by the Post Office.
Kelly was my server I sat at the Bar and watched the Olympics. I had the Chilaquiles but that was only because I had the Eggs Benedict the day before at another restaurant. Chilaquiles had a great spicy flavor (not to much but enough) I asked for my eggs over easy and they came as I wished for. I had a side of the deep fried grits, it is the vessel the Eggs Benedict is served on, they didn't have a lot of flavor and I couldn't taste the cheese in them so I dropped it into my Chilaquiles bowl LMAO!!
The Guava mimosa was refreshing. Kelly cared for me nicely as I sat at the bar by myself I watched as she made small talk with me and took care of other guests needs and kept on top of the servers orders.
Atmosphere in here is so nice and relaxing I would definitely recommend a return... it was a overcast 73 degree day - which after coming from the IE (107 + degrees) it was welcomed.

Had amazing brunch this morning at Rockefeller in Hermosa Beach. Dog friendly patio was a huge plus! Our host/server Kelly was simply amazing. She provided fast, friendly, and very attentive service. We shared the egg rolls and the breakfast burrito. Both were simply fire! The mochas with almond milk are to die for. The Bloody Mary and peach mimosa hit the spot after brunch. We will DEFINITELY be back and we hope Kelly is there!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon, and it was pretty busy. My girlfriend & I got sat quickly, by the fire place! which was awesome because it was our first time. The waitress (which I don’t remember her name) was very very friendly, attentive. The customer service was top notch. We got the mimosas and two brunch plates which were delicious. We are definitely coming back.
Thank you!!

It was so deliciously tasty that I could have them twice a day. Perfectly made each time. The flavor and taste nevertheless changes but gets juice and yummier. If that's a word. After my third, I was upset I couldn't eat more and had to go. HA 😄 great staff. Although there are 3 locations, Hermosa Beach is the best outdoor spot. Stop reading, go to Rockefeller, and order your next delicious Burger 😎🍔🍾

This place is lovely and the food is surprisingly really good, nothing too special.
The one thing I dislike about this place is that the interior of the restaurant gets very loud, as there is no soundproofing. I could barely hear the other members at my table.
Also, there are 2 tables by the fireplace that are level with your chair, and I can just imagine how uncomfortable it must feel to sit there, hunched over.
It does look very pretty inside though, and the service is fast and they care to return to check in on people.

I took my friend for lunch at Rockefeller and we couldnt have enjoyed ourselves more. First of all, Kelly couldnt have been nicer. She seated me while I waited for my friend and made certain I had water and whatever I needed. She was able to give some details about the different food options. I had the vegan cob salad while my friend had the macaroni and cheese with truffles. We also decided to try the sweet potato and zucchini fries. Everything was so delicious, well prepared, and served with care and friendliness. Its a fun place with good food. The decor is really stylish and comfortable. This is definitely a place to frequent. This is truly sad because this place could be one of the best of Hermosa. Service - awesome. Diana is a keeper. Music / vibe - 5 stars. People dancing to the chill playlist, great patio etc. Food - horrible and borderline dangerous. We had the meatballs and ahi tacos. Meatballs were tasteless, zero spice, maybe Costco or mass meatball bought, heated and served. Ahi tacos tasted like detergent on the slaw - maybe careless food handling practices - ahi was too old and covered in pepper to mask it. Hoping I don t get sick from eating this. I think staff knows the kitchen is struggling - I said we couldn t eat the tacos and it was removed and taken off the tab asap. A great place to hang and chill! Just don t eat here. I ll update if I get sick 2 stars because a restaurant should have safe and tasty food.

The food at this restaurant has gone really downhill :( Sad to say it, but 2 of my family members and I think we got sick from our meal. The fried chicken sandwich was more like a chicken parm with red sauce between two slices of bread The shrimp within the shrimp tacos wasn t cooked well, basically cold and icy when you bit into them. I feel so bad leaving this review, but really don t want anyone experiencing what we just did tonight.

I was expecting great food. Went for a Mother s Day Brunch. Got the chicken and waffles with a side of hashbrown. I was shocked that the side of hash brown was the frozen rectangular shape you get at the grocery store?!! I was charged $6 for that?! That was annoying. I was expecting the shredded potato kind. Even if those are also frozen at other restaurants, at least it looks better that a jack in the box one . I love hash browns, even from jacks but you expect better quality at certain locations. That s my rant on that lol. The chicken was not seasoned well either, definitely needed salt. The cinnamon waffle was good and so was the bacon that my kids got.

If you are after an average quality overpriced hamburger then this maybe ok for you. BUT stay away from other stuff on the menu. My wifes taxo was inedible. Fish lacked seasoning, tasted fishy and lacked any creativity. Side dish of beans was ok. I adventured the chicken pie. This was a very liquid chicken soup decorated with a pastry on top. The server examined the soup with a hat and agreed that it shouldnt be so liquid and graciously replaced it with a hamburger.

Finally made it to visit last night after about a year of this amazing gourmet burger advertised on my social media page all the time. The advertisement was for a $2 gourmet burger on Tuesdays with a $6 drink purchase. The burger always looks incredible. The bait and switch smh. There were not $6 anything drinks, they all started at $9 and way up. There was no big juicy gourmet burger.....its called a pizza burger. Its on one tiny bottom bun, very hard to find burger in a little marinara sauce and cheese, topped with 4 small pepperoni. (It was good dont get me wrong but it was small enough for a four year old). The environment was nice. The staff was great. The night would have been 5 star for sure if I didnt feel tricked......that made the experience really suck. Just be honest in your advertisement so we can make a fair decision on visiting or not.

The server was amazing. Attentive and was very understanding. The food however was less than mediocre. I initially ordered the chilaquilles . They arrived with the over was eggs cooked where the yolk was way overcooked. While I waited for the eggs to be re done I had the chips on the plate. I say chips because thats pretty mich all it was. The little bit of cheese and tiny bit of pork chorizo must have been soaked up by the chips. However it didnt taste like it. Easily the worst plate of chilaquilles Ive ever had I sent that plate back and orders pork belly Benedict. Sounds good right? It does however it wasnt. The pork was overcooked and didnt have flavor. The Benedict was a fried potatoes pasty with eggs and hollandaise. Just uninspiring and poorly executed pork belly which should be the Star of the show. Cant imagine how this place survives but I wont be going back

Got dinner here on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. There is plenty of indoor seating with a nice ambience. About half the tables were filled when we showed up at 7PM. There is no cocktail menu. The white sangria was tasty. We got the artichoke dip to share, which was disappointingly flavorless and bland. We got the shrimp tacos and grilled fish taco entrees. The black beans served with the tacos were barely warm despite the plate being very hot and tasted way under-seasoned like straight out of a can. The shrimp tacos had something in them that was strangely very bitter and upset my stomach (I dont have known food allergies) so I did not finish them. Id recommend this place only for the vibes and a beer/wine. Dont waste your money on the food.

Excellent Service! The staff was friendly and attentive. The Ahi Nachos and Crispy Chicken Sandwich were delicious. O could tell the tuna used was very good quality. Also had the Artichoke Spinich dip. Didnt care for that much but that might be due to personal preference. Had a lemoneny quality about it that mad it taste like mayonnaise. Other than that was very happy with my experience and would definitely go back.

I travel from the East coast frequently and have dined in all (3) Rockefellers. Hermosa is my fav. Last trip I strolled in @ 7:30 on a brisk Jan Tuesday night and ordered the Pazole Verde Chicken Soup. It came out piping hot with the presentation of fresh sliced limes, radishes and chopped onions accompanied by some tortillas chips. The aroma of cilantro and lime was just the preface of what was to come. Flavors of fresh verde from chiles and a rich broth full of large white meat chicken chunks made me feel like I was in an authentic Mexican kitchen enjoying home cooking. If you close your eyes and picture terracotta pottery, tiled worn floors and a grandmother singing Mexican folk songs, this delicious homemade masterpiece will do the rest to get you there. Everything on this menu is very good. However, this Pazole Verde is a stand out that separates dining experiences as much as Taylor and Stefan make you feel at home! Gracias!

We stopped by for a quick bite. Unlike most places in Hermosa, the tables at the Rockefeller were spaced as they should be during a pandemic. The hostess was loud and her mask kept falling off her nose every 10 seconds ... we watched her as she interacted with other tables as well during our lunch. Beside her everyone was properly masked and shielded. Our waitress was very pleasant and got me a nice beer when I let her to choose for me. The guac was light, creamy and refreshingly tasty and the octopus was excellent. Pleasant and delicious, highly recommend it.

When i sent it back because of the egg i received chicken fried burger no gravy! Found out no gravy available! Did not have to pay for meal. But got no substitute! Got no perk. Not only do they not take ownership of botched meal they offered nothing as a substitute. They were out of gravy and nothing was offered! Or inferred as a good a viable substitution. DISSAPOINTING! No recommendation!
