Great place to stop as a hiker, complimentary showers and laundry, camping and place to charge your devices. The food is fantastic, good selection of beers on tap. Definitely a party atmosphere which is a nice break after getting off trail. Also if youre coming through Kennedy Meadows, its a nice place to stop along the way. Its run off grid on generators so make sure you order your food early before the 7:00 p.m. cut off and same with showers and laundry. Do it early! Scott and Kendra are amazing owners. Please make sure if youre staying there you patronize the business. Help keep these kind of places open.

Bar pumping, good happy people all ties together for a recipe for a perfect stop!!! When asked how can I review they said how can we improve!? They listen they care and they are full of love. I can t tell them how to improve because I don t think it s possible.

This place, these guys, are incredible. It truly is a retreat - an oasis of warmth, food, community, and help in what is otherwise just a wild, albeit beautiful wilderness. Scotty and Kendra are just such kind folk, they helped me out with all kinds of things I needed, and Ricky is just there to help others all the time picking up campers and hikers, giving advice, going above aboard. The vibes from this place is that it is not a business, these folk are not just doing their JOBS, they are being there for other PEOPLE. It is NOT about the money for them. And they offer so many free things!! If you ever make it out Kennedy Meadows, hanging out there will be well worth it. Shlomo

The cheeseburger was great, the staff was nice, but the restaurant itself is kind of a mess. It has such potential to be a great spot. The rear deck has great views, but theres a lot of clutter on the property. Breakfast is served until 10, but I was informed theyre out of season for breakfast. Guess its a slow time.

Like the other review said this place isn t necessarily family friendly . It s definitely a locals bar and can feel unwelcome if you aren t their kind. Saw a guy stumble out with a beer in hand and get right into his jeep and drive off. Thats the kind of vibe you get here.

When you visit Kennedy Meadows, you have to stop here! Laid-back atmosphere with locals and tourist alike. Super friendly, easy going and special spot seemingly in the middle of nowhere! Be sure to say hello to the owner, Scott. He s basically the town mayor! They have new cabins and a campground that I can t wait to check out next time.

Well. I ve been coming up to Kennedy Meadows my entire life. My dad took me to Grumpy s as a kid. ONLY twice. But I knew that was a BIG deal. Now I live here. And I wish, every day, that my Dad was alive to know that. Grumpy s has history here in KM. And they take that VERY seriously. The guy that posted that they looked at him weird ?? Huh?! Not sure if they had the correct business here or if that guy was having a bad day- but, LOL!!, Grumpy s is extremely kid friendly. Their family is huge!! And FULL of kids who visit Grumpy s, eat ice cream, smear it all over their face and play outside. Not kid friendly? Not a chance. They cater to families and groups, whether you re two or twenty. Love you guys!! Thank you for providing a great asset to our community and working your butts off in every season!! You guys are great!! Vegetarian options: The vegan Pizza is one of the most requested items!!

When I think of Kennedy meadows I think of sitting on the porch watching the sunset and the moonrise. Excellent location, especially for the Pct hikers. This place has the best food you can get in town the Cook is Donna and my mom Laura sometimes they do theyre best. The owners Scotty and Kendra are really nice. If you come here I would get anything with french fries because the French fries are homemade and really good. Some people forget that its up in the mountains and the place runs on generator and if youre the last person in line it will take longer because everything runs on propane the only things that are important that you get your food warm and nothing is wrong with it and you dont leave hungry we just want you to have the best experience and have the best time and want everyone to know their welcomed any time just remember its a stress free place and remember what the workers have to do to keep you guys fed

Many years ago my husband and I had been backpacking in the wilderness for a week. On our drive out, we stopped here for lunch. As we began to order we found out they only took cash or check, neither of which we had (this may have changed since). The owner said oh Lord, Ive been feeding you backpackers for years and Im stopping now, what do you want? You can send me the money. We have never forgot that lunch, she sat down at our table and we all talked. We tell that story all the time. The Grumpy Bear is a must stop.

The BEST BURGERS WE EVER HAD!!! I cant express just how happy we were when we got our food. I had the Grumpy Bear burger which was massive. We all laughed at how the heck I was going to open my mouth to eat it! My son had the Patty Melt and he swears it was the best melt hes ever had. I had a bite and will definitely be ordering one the next time I return. His girlfriend had the single cheeseburger and she was enjoying every bite of it. The average price for food is close to $20.00 but worth every penny and to be quite honest, we would have paid $5.00 more happily. The staff were extremely busy but warm and helpful. The service was prompt and attentive. They have power strips everywhere for people to charge whatever they need charged and since cellular service from all carriers is non-existent, they offer WiFi starting at $2.00 for 2 hours. The place is along the Pacific Crest Trail and they offer free laundry and shower services to everyone who needs it. Theres so many hikers, from all around the world, around the place and everyone was extremely friendly. The location is just beautiful in the town of Kennedy Meadows and the building is wood and has a rustic feel. I cant say enough about this place to really give you the true feel for the place but its definitely our top three foodie destination. Enjoy

I stayed here for about 3 days while hiking the PCT. Here are my pros and cons. Pros: $3 showers in a real bathroom with running hot water, decent food (pizza was disappointing for the price), tax is included in price, great company (hikers and locals), men and women restrooms with flushable toilets and working sinks. Free camping, great Wi-Fi! Cost money, but it is not worthless like the gen store wifi. Cons: Incomplete menu (doesnt show drink selection or prices). Even though the sign outside says its a store.. It isnt, Only bar and grill. Buy your groceries at gen store Some prices: XL thin pizza 18.75 I think* for just cheese. Wi-Fi is $2=2Hours $5=8Hours and $10=24Hours
