Cafe Heidelberg

After reading pretty good reviews about this place I decided to try it, however just to be clear our comments are nothing personal is just our opinions. I visited this place almost 2 weeks ago, was Saturday I had the herbed omelette and mango smoothie. The omelette was nothing to be surprised at all, didn't really taste plus I don't like to add any kind of sauce or ketchup, I like to enjoy the way it is. Some diced potatoes were hard like over fried, it was around 2 pm , wasn't overcrowded at all. Mango Smoothie was obviously powder flavor . Didn't take too long till I got the food. I sat down in front of the restaurant to enjoy the view. While I was eating I went to the front to get some more water to the container placed on top of the counter and The girl who took my order was also there, then she asked me how's the food. Honestly first time I was asked how's food when I have to go to get water, meaning if I don't get water nobody asked . I thought they have to go to the costumers to ask how's everything , I guess this is something new, that costumers have to go and if we are seen we get to be asked how's the food. anyway this girl is very friendly no comments at all, my point is someone has to keep an eye of the costumers .

Very nice staff waited on us. The breakfast burrito was good as well as the Swiss oatmeal & coffee. A little pricey but what isn’t anymore. I would recommend for breakfast.

Great little cafe! The avocado toast was amazing and I liked their freshly squeezed orange juice too. There’s a lot of space to sit both inside and out. Would recommend!

Great place to get breakfast. It gets busy on the weekends. They have a good menu. I have been coming to this location for a while now, the only reason I give them 4 star for food is that I have notice each time I come and order California burrito, the content is more potato then anything else. I feel like I am eating a potato burrito. I wish they take this into consideration. The prices are reasonable.

This showed up as a highly rated place and we liked it, too!! Delicious food, promptly served, reasonably priced with friendly and helpful services.

We had California Burrito and Seafood Omelette with coffee and a mocha. All are nicely presented with delicious taste. The front desk lady and the nice busboy lady both offered to refill my coffee.

Good convenient location, comfortable outdoor and indoor seating. Tables are promptly cleaned.

Great food...especially breakfast, and amazing staff, friendly and efficient. Try the roasted potatoes! They always make you feel welcome. And dogs are welcome. :) Parking: Usually there is street parking, except in summer and weekends on great beach days. On site underground free parking is always avaialbe.

Heidelberg is a delicious local restaurant with great friendly service, reasonably priced and delicious food. I ve tried their omelets, tuna melt and various other menu items and they re all yummy. There s only one disappointing feature, they re only open for breakfast and lunch.

We are a breakfast family. That is our favorite meal. With that being said, this breakfast is in our top 3 of all time. The huevos rancheros were a 10 out of 10! The coffee was extremely tasty too. The staff was very pleasant and on top of it!

The Ube Matcha Latte is a lie and false advertisement. The Ube foam is nothing but frothed almond milk colored with purple food coloring. There is no hint of the slightly sweet, nutty flavor of Ube. The matcha is bitter but thats to be expected. Be better. Yes I have a big back but I also have big standards.

Sorry, but I have to ding them hard. The avocado toast was horrible and so was the coffee. As for atmosphere, there is none. I dont eat eggs and maybe they make good eggs, but the bread in my toast was barely there and the whole thing was swimming in their balsamic glaze.

My daughter and I found this wonderful place while staying at Laguna Beach for business. We have both worked in the restaurant industry for many years and admired the camaraderie of the employees, and their strong connections with their community members. We fell in love with the food, and found ourselves returning for breakfast daily while in town. We will definitely be back!

I got their breakfast burrito with chorizo. It is pricey, but expected for the area. The size makes it worth it. My only minor complaint is that the chorizo is not spiced very much. I prefer a more classic Mexican chorizo. Tomorrow I will be having another breakfast and will update this review. Worth the walk, cost and time for breakfast here at Laguna.

Have been going to Heidelbergs for years. Had lunch on Saturday and for the first time noted a deterioration in quality of food. Cesar Salad was uninteresting with small amount of lettuce and parmesean cheese. My wife chicken salad was awful ; chicken was dry. Hope this is an aberration or a bad day.

A great place across from the beach. Cross walk is a boon to use. Drivers are cognizant of people wanting to cross the street to get to the beach. The food is superb, and there are lots of quaint shops to browse. Make sure you take the time to walk along the beach after a hearty meal. Vegetarian options: Ask for vege options.

I tipped them at the counter before I was seated, and I went back to tip them again when the food was served and I had my first bite. They are that good. As an Asian girl whose culture doesnt find leaving tips at the table very natural, I dont usually overtip. I simply go with socially acceptable amount as a courtesy. But they are so good, so friendly, so nice, and its one of those very rare occasions that the gratuity truly comes from the bottom of my heart. The foods were served in like 10 mins which was extremely fast, and every bite and every sip was nothing but a pure pleasure. This has become my favorite place in the whole laguna beach area, and I will definitely come back again. Considering that I am living aboard who needs to fly 12+ hours to get in LA, you can imagine how satisfying this place is.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this cafe so much so I visited it twice in a row for breakfast, customer service is TOP TIER and the busser is SUCH. A hardworker and NO ONE had an attitude about anything even when I sent my food back for a minor situation. This restaurant gave an experience that I hardly EVER experience in Las Vegas even on the strip and I appreciate that. When I m visiting Laguna from Las Vegas again HANDS DOWN you ll get my business 10 out of 10 I m coming AGAIN!!

First time visiting here. Came with a friend. We sat outside at the relaxing patio area. Beautiful location along Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach. Ordered two flavored lattes. Split an omelette, served with potatoes and toast. Everything was fabulous!

And the location is great because you can take food to go and walk across the street to eat it at Brooks beach but it s far enough away from main beach to not attract the tourist-y crowds. Whenever my husband and I try any new breakfast or coffee place, often our response is its ok but - it s not Heidelberg . Cafe Heidelberg is basically our standard and our favorite. Our favorite items to get are the surfer burrito, iced chai latte and cold brew (with the vanilla cream top for extra creamy flavor!). They use quality ingredients, service is always great, and everything else I ve tried there is delicious. Oh and their pastries are yummy as well. I love their muffins and scones!

It s ok, the employees are good. Their delivery app sucks.we buy breakfast and lunch and dinner dishes. Though they don t offer dinner hours. Close early daily. Parking: I used to love this place, but I rarely go anymore. The app page is bad, really bad. I used to order example, a omelette that included toast and potatoes.then the ask about bread, it says sour dough then sourdough again, one is regular SD bread the other sliver of sour dough baguette. But all your choice reads is genetic sourdough they add fruit to oat meal, strawberries and banana so you get banana flavored oatmeal, not what I wanted, with cooked strawberries. It s gross. If I wanted banana flavored oatmeal with sour cooked strawberries I would ask for it. It s disgusting, they will not allow me to ask for it on the side. The thick bacon is good but they make it so crisp it breaks in pieces when they put it in the box. I like Zinc in ocean much better now..

Solid location, and the consistent line vindicates the point. Place is a little cozy so relax your personal bubble a notch or two. Coffee was strong and the Matcha was offered unsweetened (as it should be properly speaking). Small wait for food, but it was acceptable since this wasn t a fast food place. Temperature and flavor was all there and presentation was on point. Would definitely recommend, would definitely come back.

Heidelberg s incredible menu and phenomenally good food and outstanding coffee make it the best cafe in all of Laguna Beach. Small business owner operated they provide exceptional customer service and terrific value. Their bakery is also terrific.

The best place in Laguna Beach to get a Danish and Coffee. Now the largest, but friendly with a small inside and a larger outdoors set of table. Dog friendly.

My boyfriend was visiting from Germany and this place caught our eye because Heidelberg the city. Unsurprisingly, there wasnt anything really German about this cafe. But he had his first breakfast burrito here and he loved it! He discovered his love for Tapatio sauce on food here as well. Lovely staff and a great atmosphere. Price point was not bad either. So refreshing to grab breakfast here and relax. Thanks!

Amazing place, very affordable compared to Dennys or Norms, arguably better in quality and taste as well. You can even see the ocean from the outside patio. Very clean and upkept by the workers. And the counter worker, Kim, was very friendly as well taking it was our first visit in consideration. A hidden gem.

Best dirty chai latte I ve ever had. Eggs Heidelberg were so good. Prices are reasonable. Walking distance from Surf and Sand resort. Def coming back.

Almost hate to share this gem! Great breakfast burrito and other items, eggs and tomatoes are great, coffee is perfect. Weve been coming here for many years and its gotten busier and busier. Plan to wait in line on the weekends, its worth the wait!

Quality has diminished. 9.5 for a bowl of soup that looks less than even a full cup. And they used to use better bread that had a little cream cheese and onions on it. Hello corporate.

Café Heidelberg is definitely of my favorite places to eat, curiously I discovered it by ordering via UberEats several times before going to the place, now I dine in constantly, Breakfast plates are so nice, the burrito is amazing , my favorite eggs with sausage and the potatoes are so delicious, I just got a bit disappointed with Huevos Rancheros, I ordered them once and last time, I personally didn t like them at all, just the way the dish is crafted I guess and seems so simply but out of that I love all the menú

Both the breakfast burrito and the omelette were pretty well made, and a good portion sice to have in the morning. You can sit outside which is cozy, too. Overall was a good experience, and the prices werent too high either. Would go again if Im ever in the area.

We were some of the first customers in after an early sunrise adventure and good thing, because it seemed to get busy not long after we finished! We had the smoked salmon benedict and almond stuffed french toast - both of which were absolutely amazing. I dont like seafood, but the salmon was so wonderfully smoky and soft that it didnt overpower and complimented the potato pancake and greens well. The almond stuffed french toast was so fresh and tasted absolutely divine - the stuffing was a perfect balance with the soft brioche slices. We were both stoked with the food and cant wait to come back the next morning we spend in Laguna!

They go above and beyond. We ordered the breakfast burrito. We mentioned no pork, and there was nothing with pork listed. Before our food came, the waitress had checked with the cook and realized that the beans have pork in them, and replaced it with guac. The food is good, the coffee is good, and the area is nice.

Everything you could hope for Im a diner restaurant - fresh food well prepared, happy work staff, casual comfortable atmosphere. Pastries are excellent.

First time here. Driven by several times but hadn t stopped in. Excellent service! Every person I encountered was so welcoming and helpful ! Variety of Good fresh food, great prices and nice place to catch up with friends on their patio! I ll be back for sure.
