Man what can I say…this place does not disappoint. The atmosphere is awesome with the live band that plays. The view is awesome especially if you come right around sunset time. The food is amazing, really good flavor and portions. I’ve been here several times and will for sure keep going. We took some cousins from my wife that came from Virginia and they loved it. See photos I posted. I recommend all those plates!!

Spectacular view. Good was just average overall. The scallops were very good but the “tuna” was over-seasoned with salt and covered in a sweet reduction. Probably the worst seared tuna I’ve had in a while. It’s definitely a good experience if you just want to have drinks and some apps, but know going in that that you are paying for the view not the food here. Service was also excellent.

Had loads of fun. Fell short of 5 stars because of slow service and limited menu. Drinks were good but weak. The food we ordered was very good. The live music was excellent. Friendly people, ocean views, just plain fun place to go listening to live music by the ocean on a warm summer evening. Recommended 4.5⭐️.

Love eating consistently delicious food while looking north along the coast of the Pacific. The staff are responsive and we always see them hustling to do their job. If you are able to make it for sunset, it is sublime.

The best part was the atmosphere. Beautiful view. Service was alright. Food was awful and definitely terrible in taste. Halibut was sooo damn dry with no flavor and the garlic mash were so hard I thought I was eating oatmeal and no flavor. For the prices being charged for the food you would think it would at least taste good. Just know you're paying for a view and not good food.

After a long day relaxing on Laguna Beach, we sorted through restaurants and decided on the cliff. We walked up the hill and into the restaurant where we were seated quickly. Our server Reese was great and always kept our drinks full. The food was not worth the price we had to pay, but the view was great. I had shrimp scampi and it was too watery for my liking. It seems to be a popular place, so if you want to dine outside on a cliff overlooking Laguna beach this is the perfect place for that.

10/18/2024 .hostess was incredibly rude. I ve lived in Laguna Beach for a couple of years and never been treated that way. Took a friend from Tennessee that was visiting but decided to go somewhere else after the attitude we received from her. Do better!

Was The worst southwest chicken salad I ve ever had. The chicken was so tough I couldn t even eat it. That waitrt was Not that great. Never offered me a refill on my coffee Among other things. Won t be going back to the cliff anytime soon.

The Cliff was recommended by AI and I m glad we decided to go. The restaurant sits right in the beach with the terrace looking out to the ocean. There s a little outdoor market you can shop while waiting for your table. The service was friendly, just a bit slow but really not a problem. We ordered the Southwest salad, chips with guac and pico, and the prime rib French dip sandwich. They were fresh and delicious. The au jus was a little flavorless but other than that the food was delicious. The horseradish was creamy and mild - the only time I ve used and enjoyed it with my prime rib. Overall glad we stopped.

Updated review from 5 I came a second time and ordered the carbonara, it was not good. I have never seen a soupy carbonara. There was so much liquid. The view is the best though.

We liked it, even if the quality of the food wasnt the best. But here its more about the ambience. We drank a few beers and ate snacks during happy hour (only for certain dishes). That was fine and we enjoyed it.

I found out on Google that this place is pet-friendly, so we brought our two corgis. As soon as we sat down, a waitress immediately brought water for the dogs, which made me feel welcomed and cared for. We ordered their signature burger and the seafood cream pasta. Both were really delicious, and the side salad was great too. I ordered a cherry-flavored beer and a pineapple one, but they were out of the pineapple flavor. The staff kindly recommended a guava flavor instead, which turned out to be really good. I really appreciated the recommendation! The next time we visit Laguna Beach, we will definitely come back!!!!! Found here on Google that pets can be brought here Brought our two corgis there When we got to our seats, a waitress immediately brought water that the puppies could drink. Make me feel friendly and considerate Then I ordered the signature burger here. And seafood cream pasta tastes delicious The salad that comes with the meal is also great I ordered a cherry beer and a pineapple beer But in the end the pineapples were out of stock The clerk also recommended our guava flavor It s really delicious. My wife and I both had salads for lunch chicken Caesar and shrimp Louie and both were amazing. Our waiter, (Ricardo) who has worked here for over 20 years was amazing, attentive but not over powering. We have eaten here before and NEVER been disappointed with our meals. See you again soon.

Ate dinner in restaurant it was decent, nothing special. Stepped out to look at the view and was harassed by an employee for overlooking the view of the ocean!! There was a wedding going on and he said they wanted privacy, you couldn t even see the wedding area from where I was standing. You could see the entire wedding and hear everything at the wedding from the table we just dinned at. The employee chased away a customer that has been here multiple times but will not revisit this restaurant ever again.

Arturo was our server in waiting area ... we were waiting for our table. We purchased drinks and appetizers while we were waiting for our table . unfortunately they failed to contact us when our table was ready . still sitting it the waiting area and waiting arturo walked up and told us to get up and go sit on a bench as he had other customers that wanted our table in the waiting area ...we explained we were still waiting and he stated i dont care move ... i asked for the a manager and she came over and arturo flat out lied to his manager saying he never said that . his manager without question took the employees side and discounted 100 % our concerns... clearly a culture that allows and condones rude and abrasive behavior ..... no apology .. no concerns whatsoever from management . Have been here many times and this will most definitely be the last...management has failed this establishment beyond belief.

Ive never left a review before, but after getting really sick after eating here, I feel the need to. Our food tasted really good, and our server was very nice. We ordered a club sandwich, and an Albacore tuna melt. Within an hour, we were both having bad stomach cramps and became very ill. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager. The host asked why, and I informed him that my wife and I both got really sick after eating lunch there. A supervisor then spoke to me, didnt ask any further questions about what happened, or even apologize at all. She only asked for my name and number, and said the chef would call me back to discuss further on his personal phone so that they didnt have to talk about it at the host stand. Sadly he never called. So disappointing that this restaurant didnt even care to find out what food of theirs could possibly be contaminated. I really hope no one else gets sick after eating here.

Worst experience ever, food was awful. I visited this place for my birthday by reserving table here. But to my surprise, food was so bad that me and my husband had food poisoning after that. My husband started throwing up the next day. For me my special day was totally ruined. We travelled 1.5 hour from riverside to this place for such worst experience. We ordered chicken nachos with guacamole. Guacamole was just half mashed avocado, with other half raw, which we couldn t cut with fork. It had tomato chopped in it. Felt like these tomatoes were cut the day before, it was not fresh at all. Veggies in mahi mahi fish tacos were not fresh and tasted bad. Halibut fish was okay. All the dishes are expensive but wasn t worth. It was waste of our money and time. Road side food truck has better food than this. Worst part is even after such awful food we have to give tip, just for server. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Our bartender while we waited for a table Lauren was amazing 5 stars for her! The restaurant however was a different story. After waiting over an hour which was not a problem at all, we were seated and quickly ordered a few starters to get things going. Our server returned shortly after and asked what else we were ordering and we informed her that was all, and she then informed us that we were required to each order an entree as a requirement to remain at the table otherwise we could take our starters and go. No one during our over one hour wait ever mentioned this. We informed our server of this and she still insisted that regardless it is what it is. We quickly got up and left. Horrible experience highly do not recommend this spot. Seems like a typical tourist trap for the view.

The waitlist system sucks here! I put myself in line through Google because we come from San Bernardino County. 2 hours and twenty minutes later I get a text saying I got removed from the waitlist. The issue I m having is that I was literally standing next to the hostess station for 15 minutes prior to that happening. I saw 7 parties seated prior to being removed from the waitlist. That entire time the waitlist said there was one party ahead of me. I approach the supervisor to tell her I lost my spot on the waitlist and she commences to tell me that I only have a 10 minute window to return before I lose my spot. All the while she s helping yet another party to be seated ahead of me. As I begin to tell her that I ve been standing there the entire time she says she just arrived but will assist me when she can and walks away with that other party. I really used to like this place because of its location but I can get ocean views anywhere. I won t continue spending my money here.

My Mexican family of fourteen (including 2 children) were treated by the manager in a racist, insulting, derogatory manner. Shouting loudly before all diners (which also included many young children ) after (and getting prior permission and approval from the hostess) we brought outside pizza for the children. There was absolutely no reason for such harsh, condescending and racist behavior on the managers part. We then immediately cancelled our orders and left the restaurant. This behavior is totally unacceptable and a clear example of a troubled prejudiced culture of a manager and restaurant

Lets face it: you come here for the view. I had a soup and salad combo with the soup being minestrone. Yall, if this wasnt Campbells? Id be very surprised. I have experience with Campbells veggie soup & minestrone, so I speak from experience Its fine- I get that people dont go to Laguna Beach to eat minestrone soup. It just seemed odd. I wasnt feeling my best that day and really just wanted to hang with my friends anyway. Everyone elses food seemed hit or miss. The veggie sandwich was supposed to be on squaw but it was definitely plain old wheat and had zero flavor. Another friend had the pear and gorgonzola salad and was very pleased. Honestly, hit or miss. Valet parking only - which is fine by me during the busy summer. $12 was my total for about 1.5 hours. Go for the view, not for the food.

I have to write a review on one of my many visits to this place. Never have a delt with such horrible management service. We were a party of 12 visiting from San Diego, Riverside, and Colorado. Celebrating my nieces 16th bday and all she wanted was sunset view and a good dinner. 2 hour wait, when we got seated they gave us 2 of their tables to sit 12, mind you we had 3 people that needed more room. They expected us to be elbow to elbow. We asked to get another table to connect to the ones we already had, server went to go ask and we got the table and placed it our self. Manager at the moment comes down and does a big show on how the table got moved without management approval. Anyhow they let us keep it and decided to put us on a timer, ok. Well we had our food and we sang happy bday as I look back theres security behind us like if we were criminals. We didnt even get to cut the cake! We asked for general manager and he did not also know how to fix the issue made it worst and asked us to leave. As we walk away he said hes calling the cops. Well here we go getting followed by security, manager, and cops. It was the most embarrassing situation they put a family in. They could of handled all this in a better way, but no because their management sucks and dont know how to coordinate with big parties.

The staf is really bad, never trust the wait time, they told us 40 min, we came on time they said give us 5 min, we gave much more then they said it is busy might take another 30 min, an old lady in the reception said that it you like it or leave, very unorganized, never trust the waiting time they give you and expect a very bad service and response from some staff

Always enjoy this classic restaurant, never disappoints on every visit for the past 15 years or so! I highly recommend the seared scallops! Dietary restrictions: Had no problem getting gluten free and veggie options! Parking: It s Laguna, there are parking challenges. I normally walk, but had a car this time and used valet service. Very easy and not bad price! Other spots nearby you can park free and walk over. Wheelchair accessibility: It is doable, and the ocean views from that level are great. Definitely due valet park.

Had the tacos which came with a side of rice. Overall it was pretty bland and too heavy on the tortilla shell. Nice view of the beach but there was a lot of time bugs that kept flying into our drinks (literally). Great service though. Go for street parking since the parking lot is valet only.

They added $4 to the tip after I already tipped them (it wasnt a large bill, only 1 drink). Not cool, or legal. I contacted the restaurant regarding the issue. This place did not disappoint. The vibe here is awesome and the food and drinks were delicious. Here s our experience: Reservations: they don t take reservations but you can join their waitlist from Google. It was easy. Once you re on, whether online or in-person (we did in-person) they ll text you when your table is ready. Don t go too far though bc our wait for 6 was an hour so we walked off and I got the text in about 15 minutes. This was great, except I missed The text message because I wasn t expecting it so soon. They gave you 10 minutes to make it to the hostess otherwise you give up your spot. Needless to say we lost our spot but they were very nice when I called them back and they put us right back to the top of the list, just be mindful. Atmosphere: from the main road, you almost miss the location because it s not Grand. However, once you come inside through a cute little shop and see the hostess, the view of the Pacific Ocean blows your way. The tables are all facing the water. It gets a little cold closer to sunset so bring a jacket or a blanket however, they do have heaters set up for all the tables. The staff was exceptional. There is valet right on site which was only $10 plus tip (if you tip). Food: the food was delicious. It was a mix of Mexican and American dishes. The drinks were also great. We had the rib-eye, carne asada, and a pasta dish. All were tasty.

Restaurant, location, and atmosphere are gorgeous! Wish I could review the food, couldn t tell you how it is. We approached the really friendly hostess at the front, who told us to just have a seat at any available table, then proceeded to wait 30 minutes, and no waiter/waitress showed up to even say hello. After a 30 minute wait, we decided to head out, our chicken bake and pizza at Costco were phenomenal though!

Went here for Fathers Day Brunch only to find out that brunch ended at 1115a, Ive been to many of brunch places and never had that happen. The waitress offered a Fathers Day menu to my dad, only to backtrack 20 minutes later to say that the menu wasnt available until dinner. So, we ended up getting lunch from their menu. The lobster bisque was great, until I saw a floating hair in it! The waitress was able to swap it out for a new one, but the thrill was gone after that initial experience. The ocean views are gorgeous and the day was perfect for the day. Next time I will do a more in depth review of a restaurant because my father didnt really get what he wanted . I probably will not return again. The views, yes, I will come back for. Kid-friendliness: We had a young child with us and they provided us with a childrens menu.

Yes it s above the ocean and the halibut fish and chips were excellent, other things like salad and clam chowder were OK, but forgettable. Atmosphere was fine and very beachy, all things that people easily give 5 stars for, but for me, a restaurant that s good is basic and this has a lotta room to make food that s craveable and to improve their dining space. This is not a place to seek out for the food, but good for an ocean view experience.

we recently visited The Cliff Restaurant with my husband, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. It was a busy weekend, and we expected some wait time. However, when we asked the host how long the wait would be for a table for two, she told us it would be 45 minutes. My husband noticed a few empty tables and pointed them out, but the host curtly informed us that there were 50 people ahead of us. Her tone was unfriendly, and she didnt even make eye contact with us during the conversation. Feeling unwelcome, we decided to leave and went to another nearby restaurant instead. There, the host politely informed us that although there were no tables available outside, she could seat us inside. The difference in attitude was stark. During the weekday, we passed by the area again with some friends, looking for a place for lunch. I asked my husband if he wanted to go to The Cliff Restaurant since it wasn t busy that day. His answer was a firm no. As a restaurant owner, I would never hire a host with such a dismissive attitude. Customer service is crucial, and a polite and welcoming demeanor can make all the difference. Unfortunately, The Cliff Restaurant failed to provide that. In case you want to know which hostess it was, it was the shortest one.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of dining at The Cliff, a restaurant renowned for its breathtaking views. Despite being on the waiting list, we were promptly seated, which was a pleasant start. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the picturesque scenery of the beach and the sea, though the chilly weather necessitated the use of a heater, which we requested multiple times before it was finally provided. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The pace was sluggish, and the attentiveness of the staff was subpar. For instance, it took several requests to receive utensils, which dampened our dining experience. Hence, I would rate the service at 2/5. As for the drinks, we ordered a hazy IPA beer and a Bloody Mary. The beer was delightful, with a rich, hoppy flavor that stood out. However, the Bloody Mary was a letdown, tasting stale and reminiscent of fridge burn. Upon expressing my dissatisfaction, they courteously replaced it with another beer, which was a commendable recovery. The food, on the other hand, was a mixed bag. The steak nachos were exceptional fresh, flavorful, and a highlight of the meal. We also had the fish, shrimp, and chips. The shrimp and chips were delectable, but the fish had an unpleasant odor that suggested it wasn t as fresh as it should have been. Overall, while The Cliff boasts an unbeatable view and some tasty dishes, the overall experience was marred by slow service and inconsistent food quality. The ambiance and setting are major draws, but they need to significantly improve their customer service to provide a truly enjoyable dining experience. Rating: 3/5

One of the best scenic view restaurants on Laguna beach. Make sure to reach there by 10am to get brunch spot, as the waiting time is around 45-1 hour. It can go long.

We ve been coming here for 15 years. It used to be a great place, with a great view. However, after moving away and returning for the first time in 2 years, I was super disappointed. The food is absolutely awful. And because it s Laguna, you get to take out a second mortgage for the chicken strips and nachos, that aren t even as good as what you might expect at a fast food place. I d recommend only coming here for drinks but be prepared to spend for them.

The Ahi was dry as heck and so salty. The steak was over cooked and had no flavor. The baked potato was good. The water cups were so small, we called them shot glasses... Which were refilled once by man passing by before closing. We were on the wait-list which initially said an hour and it took an hour and a half. When I went to ask what was going on, we passed 3 empty tables and we were 4th in line for 45 minutes. The lady said oh sorry sunset gets busy. Okay. Absolutely it does, right? But there are empty tables. Anyway Our waitress... She saw us a total of 3 times Water and silverware, order, and check. Over priced plates for terrible food and service

Great beach views from the deck seating. We had fried shrimp and fish and chips and both were great. Also tried dessert and it was good. Parking: We ended up parking about 1/2 mile away in a paid lot and walked back.

I love stopping here when I visit Laguna. The food is consistently good and you can t beat the view! My typical order is the Pear Gorgonzola Salad and I blackened ahi. The salad is a huge serving!

THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!! the manager was rude to me regarding my dogs towards the end of our lunch. We spent over $300 dollars on food and drinks over about 3 hours. Of course she waits til we have racked up the bill quite a bit before telling me I need to leave with my dogs. I was upset feeling kicked out so I left only a 15% tip and no extra. When I review my bank statement I was charged double the tip. I never got a chance to call the restaurant in a timely manner but I was very upset. Not about the money so much but the act of stealing my money and being rude to me about my dogs who were welcome in the restaurant as well. I WILL NOT RETURN.

Spectacular views, great service, good food. Paid Parking through an app on the street. We went during the week so it was pretty quiet! They also offer a dog menu. Very dog friendly !! They also have heaters for cooler days. Food

Terrible. The server made us move once she realized we were only ordering drinks and appetizers (this is 5pm on a Sunday afternoon). Even if that s the rule, they should clarify that before seating people so they don t make them move mid-meal. Oh and the food sucks. Calamari smelled like old frying oil.
