Islands Restaurant Long Beach Pike

This place was nice to eat at. The inside was themed like a Tiki bar. TV's all around, so you will not miss the game from any table. The menu was simple and didn't have many options. The service was great. The food was cooked well and had pretty good flavor. I did try some alcohol and it tasted good. It's not too sweet and not lacking on alcohol. The restrooms were clean and stocked.
My daughter had the Maui burger and regular fries. I had the Bleunami burger and added pickles and jalapeños with regular fries. I also had the Tropical Flight drink sampler.
The wait time was very fast. However, we did go in just before the dinner rush. The wait time for the food to arrive was decent.
Overall, it was a good place to eat, and I would return if I go back to Longbeach.

Came here with friends for lunch. Ordered the Jungle Ceasar salad and it was really good! I'd recommend. The place looks really cool although it's quite small I would say. Service was average. They did take long on the flight we ordered and an order of fries. But, overall we enjoyed the food. I'd come back.

Overall GREAT EXPERIENCE!! My husband and i were in town a few days before our cruise and came across Islands. The wait time was short, and the restaurant gave an option of indoor or outdoor. Decor inside was a vibe, and we watched the Olympics on the tv screens located around. Omg the food and the tropical flights were amazing!! My husband loved the Malibu burger so much that we went there twice on the same day, lol. Also, customer service was everything.

I will never revisit this establishment again. Firstly, the bartender was extremely rude. I ordered a Manhattan and simply inquired about the bourbons or whiskeys available, but he responded with an attitude because the drink he made did not taste good. He then proceeded to inform my twin and me that this was not a fancy restaurant, displaying a lack of professionalism. The food lacked seasoning and was unappetizing; the fries were not fresh and were soggy. I would advise against ordering the avocado burger, as it only contained three small slices of avocado. Similarly, my twin's chili burger was disappointing, as it only had a small amount of chili. It is unacceptable to mislead customers with the menu descriptions and provide underwhelming portions of food. Despite the manager's efforts to rectify the situation, the overall service was subpar. I recommend dining elsewhere.

We were staying at the Marriott and walked down to the Pier. On the way back we stopped in at the “Island Restaurant” to order Take-out!! My daughter placed her Gluten Free order online and I ordered in Person. There was a great atmosphere, I was greeted when I entered the restaurant. They had nice outdoor seating and also an area out front where I waited after placing my take-out order. All the staff members were very friendly. It was a busy Friday night and they had bags of to-go orders lined up. It took about 12 minutes to make both of our orders. The food was good and the best part was both of our meals were each under $20. Now, that’s hard to find a dinner meal that $13.95. Will definitely eat here again!!

We were in Long Beach for vacation and starving. We found Islands burger. So glad we did. The hostess was immediately friendly and welcoming. Our server,Alex, was also friendly with wonderful recommendations and very attentive. There is no way we will not be back.

Were from Oregon so we do not have islands there. our experience was lovely, everyone was so nice and our server Alex was super amazing. He recommend the flight of beer and i finished every cup with glee. The fries were amazing, very happy to hear they are cut fresh every day. 9-1-2024 Ate at this location and was served by Cristine. I paid my $45.78 tab with a crisp, blue $100 bill. Before leaving the table she asked me two or three times if I needed change Im thinking TF you mean B, of course I need change! She brought me $55 back and we left. Fast-forward to yesterday (9-3-2024), I went to a mexican restaurant to buy food and attempted to pay with one of the $20s Cristine gave me. Turns-out it was COUNTERFEIT. I contacted the restaurant manager, and was told he couldnt help me. I called corporate today (9-4) to make a report (got no answer). I called LBPD & got NO HELP either. I went back to the restaurant because I was told a different manager would be there, plus Cristine was supposed to be working. I explained what happened to the manager and he refunded my money. Thank goodness for that manager (hence the 3 stars). But I hope they FIRE that crooked waitress and the guy that was helping her.

The atmosphere is cool, very typical of what we see in movies, with TVs to watch games. The format is a bit reminiscent of Outback, but only in terms of layout, as the entire decor is very beachy. The service is good. The food is well prepared, but relatively common in terms of flavor, nothing that couldnt be found somewhere cheaper. The cost of a hamburger (well served, but not huge) with fries and 1 draft beer was around 32 dollars (including tip), in 2024.

Fun tiki-ish spot to grab a decent burger and some libations. Not gourmet food or craft cocktails, but certainly better than fast food or drinking at home. Turkey and veggie burgers available for substitution, as well as a good selection of chicken sandwiches.

This place was AMAZING. They have an amazing burger selection so if you love burgers, this place is a must try. Our server was Yuri and he was literally one of the best servers I have ever had in my life. The atmosphere is lively and the island theme is a nice touch. If you just got done at the Aquarium of the Pacific, this is the place to come to, to eat. I will definitely be coming back.

I took 2 friends for lunch yesterday. We were very hungry. Chose their featured SUMMER BERRY BLEND SALAD(which according to the menu includes Almonds, strawberries, raspberries and grilled chicken). We were served A BUNCH OF LETTUCE AND A FANCY DRESSING! I told the waiter I wouldnt pay $20 for just lettuce and he insisted the salad didnt include chicken. After showing him the description of the salad he brought us some sort of shaved steamed chicken. Then digging in the lettuce didnt find the almonds and the berries...which he brought us some on a little plate [he was not very happy, us either]. We didnt get straws and napkins which I had to go get myself. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Waiter didnt apologize at all.

Possibly the worst service Ive ever seen. We were seated quickly and assured our server would be there to help us shortly. We sat at our table for 20 minutes with multiple servers rushing past and avoiding us. Tables around us were sat, had drinks, and even food by the time we gave up. Just a scary interaction with an enployee who I think might have been a manager. He seemed to have mistaken me for someone he knew and didnt like or thought I was homeless... but he escorted me out seconds after I got there because I wanted to take pictures of this really cool place. I complied before taking any pictures and put my camera away but I was still told to leave. I was staying at the Hyatt across the street and this was my first time ever in Long Beach. I posted this review the day it happened... someone replied and said they would follow up and contact me to tell me what happened. They never did. I was hoping they could get any surveillance footage from the restaurant (May 19th 2024 about 1:45pm) . I deleted my original review thinking they would contact me and explain what happened but i guess not. Anyway... Im done with it...i hope if you go here youll enjoy the excellent atmosphere theyve created and dont have an awful experience like i did with a non-customer friendly employee . I wish this chain the best and hope they screen thier personel better.

Ordered through Uber Eats. The chicken wrap that is supposed to have avocado, ranch and BBQ sauce didnt have any. Basically a dry salad in a tortilla. Paid extra for onion rings instead of Fries but didnt receive them. Not a good experience.

Okay. So this one is a bit of a journey. I would like to say that first and foremost our server Alex was an absolute sweetheart! He was very attentive and kind. Though he was the only positive part of our experience dining yesterday evening. My sister and I came to dinner yesterday May 10th prior to the Celtic Woman show. We both really like Islands so we thought it would be a perfect spot to grab dinner before the concert. The biggest issue was really with the quality of the food. My sister sent her first plate back, and got a burger instead. The ranch that came with it was sour, and the chicken tortilla soup had a strange taste to it...and like, zero chicken lol. It was like getting a serving from the bottom of the pot, so it was just broth and vegetables. Alex was great, but the food was a let down. It wasnt just one dish, but multiple things that just left us bummed. We both said we would have had better food from McDonalds.

I think my first time at the Pine St. Islands was 12 years ago when I attended my first Long Beach GP. It was quite warm out and I was sun burnt and came inside for a respite. To my surprise, it was amazing inside and the food was so much better than the typical track food I had been mentally preparing for. Every year I came back to the LBGP knowing I will have an amazing and affordable meal helping me to continue enjoying all that The Pike has to offer over the race weekend. I also come back 2-3 times a year and even though the sounds and smells are a little different it still brings me back to the first time there and all of the amazing times since.

Food came quick once we finally ordered but it took 20 minutes for anyone to come by and offer refills and took nearly 15 minutes to track down our server to get the check. We walked in with a group of 35 - with 20 high school girls and about 15 parents/chaperones following our dance competition. No reservation, on a Saturday evening. This location is across from the Convention Center, and they handled our group like pros! They were able to seat us outside on the patio and just took such good care of us. The manager and all the staff were phenomenal. Best large group experience Ive ever had. Thank you Islands!!

Nice place for a good eat near the aquarium. Servers and staff were very nice but some hovered a whole lot, making me and my friend feel rushed and finished our meal quicker. I had one guy just staring over my shoulder for a good portion of the meal and it made me wildly uncomfortable. However my individual server was very kind. I got a rice bowl and enjoyed it immensely, though I ordered a side with it, my server did not remember that and so I never got it. I m aware I could have and should have said something but we came in during the lunch rush and it really seemed like they were assigning 1 person to too many tables at once, I didn t want to stress them out.

The dinners were okay but nothing to get excited about. The food was rather bland. The service was almost non existent. We had to ask 4 times for utilities; twice to our waiter and still nothing. One of our group went to the kitchen area, asked a server. She grabbed some utilities but then stopped to have a conversation with another server. The food was good but the service was rather slow. There was two of us and the food came out 5-10 minutes apart. Then we asked for a drink refill and didn t get that until we were through eating. I asked another waitress if I could get some water because I was choking, she said I ll tell your waiter I said I already did and need some water, she rudely said your not my table, I will tell your waiter. It was another 15 minutes before he finally brought our refills. His only saving grace for a tip was that he got us a discount on our total.

I have to say that it was my first time eating at islands and let me tell from customer service to the meal it self was outstanding that was on of the meat Hawaiian teriyaki burger I had from the bun to the lettuce, tomato,and pineapple was delicious fresh and well worth the price.im definitely going back with my daughter she also loved the carnitas tacos they were big tacos and fresh to die for everything was on point highly recommend if you want a fresh juice burger you must try islands hands down.Good job Islands definitely coming back for Seconds,and the food comes fast no waiting whats so ever.

Chips and salsa seemed sub par, regrets, should have went with the Nachos. Tacos were alright, but Outstanding if you dribble ranch through them. Service was good.

Is there food wasnt up to par, the order wasnt correct at first and the fries came out so dry and my cheddar fries came incorrect it tastes like they were old and sitting out for a long time. High price for nothing. Disappointed.

Maybe hit them on an off night, but our group wasn t impressed overall. The chicken sandwich was meh, burgers were pretty good, soup was good (gluten free), and the chicken wrap was alright. Service was a little on the slow side for refilling drinks, and one glass had lip stick on it. Alex was a friendly server. Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free options
