Polly's Pies was founded in 1968 by brothers Eddie and Donald Sheldrake in Fullerton, California. The legacy restaurant company, celebrating 56 years this year, is still family-owned, with Donald sitting on the board of directors and his great-niece, Jacklyn Mitosinka, serving as the company's Director of Brand. The company has 13 locations throughout Southern California, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and an assortment of fresh bakery items.
GO FOR THE LEMON MERINGUE PIE!
Polly’s Pies is a part of Long Beach history for me and I always enjoy going back for a quick lunch and some pie. We had the Prime Rib French Dip and it was fresh and tasty, the basket with onion rings that were hot and crispy and the Pie was classically delicious. Unpretentious, confortable and satisfying.

Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere. I use to come to this place as a kid and the quality of the food and service has drastically went down hill.
Ambiance: 8/10
Clean, but a little out dated. I was bummed they got rid of the round bar like area they use to have when I was a kid, but it does look more open and appears to be able to hold more people than before. But to me the appearance is pretty boring and in need of some type of upgrade. But regardless, I would trust eating here as to it appears well maintained and is always clean when I visit.
Service: 6/10
The service is always subpar. The cashier is usually great, but there never seems to be a hostess and the servers are either overwhelmed and can’t keep up with any small to large rush, or they all just don’t know how to work a floor in general (I say this as a former hostess/server/food runner). Even on days when it’s slow, the wait is much too long to be seated, be offered something to drink, or have someone take our order. The food comes out fairly fast but that’s not a good thing all the time.
Food: 3/10
Every single time I come here it’s a huge disappointment. The food is always bland and/or overcooked or undercooked.. it’s always something. I definitely wouldn’t trust ordering the salmon or any meat dish other than a burger or a pot pie.
My last visit I requested a pasta dish but asked for no cheese. The server repeated my order so I know she heard my request. The pasta dish actually looked really good but unfortunately I can’t intake dairy so I had to ask them to redo it. I didn't mind so much that I had to watch everyone else eat while I was hungry and waiting, but it was the food that was brought out to me to replace meal that made me disappointed. It lacked any flavor at all and not even salt and pepper could save it. I’ve been a patron several times and all I can say is the burgers are ok but basic and overpriced, the pot pie is a safe bet, and the breakfast is the only other decent thing served here but honestly there’s much better places such as the Bake n Broil or the Breakfast bar where you get WAY more flavor and a good bang for your buck. With the prices here, you can go elsewhere and get better for the same price. And the amount of mimosa you get for the price is ridiculous when compared to other brunch places.
Unfortunately I will continue to come here once every 3 months or so because my best friend’s father loves it (he’s in his 80’s) and this is where we go when we take him out to eat so we know he’ll be happy.
But for me.. I’ll go down the street to the bake n broil, the breakfast bar or another beloved brunch spot before I ever come here on my own cognition. Most place have open seating at a bar or you’d have to wait 45-mins for food, but it’s always worth it unlike at Polly’s.

I came in for some press pies dessert. The place wasn't busy, seemed chill, our waitress was very nice. I quite like the extensive menu which has many diner classics, which I hope to try. The pies were very nice. Apple pie was nice and sweet, crust has a satisfying crisp. I prefer their special Banberry pie, which is banana pie with strawberry on top, light sweetness and satisfying. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely come back

Stepping into Polly’s Pies is like entering a warm embrace from an old friend. The ambiance is as inviting as a cozy hearth on a chilly evening, making you feel instantly at home. The service is nothing short of stellar; the staff are like attentive hosts at a grand feast, always ensuring your needs are met with a smile and frequent check-ins.
The pies are the crown jewels of this delightful haven. I indulged in the banana cream and cherry pie, each slice a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. The banana cream pie was a silky dream, while the cherry pie burst with the vibrant essence of summer. Every bite was a testament to the artistry and passion poured into their creation.
If you’re seeking a sanctuary of comfort and culinary delight, Polly’s Pies is your destination. It’s a place where every visit feels like a cherished memory in the making. I wholeheartedly recommend it

Had a wonderful baby shower dinner here for a friend.
The environment was perfect, cozy and we could hear each other talk which was conducive for our gathering :)
Mel was our server and she treated us very well. I had the sourdough burger which was delicious and the onion rings were top notch.
The cornbread wasn't that great but everything else was, I will definitely come back!

Old school diner atmosphere with amazing food. The pictures didn’t look great but the meal was delicious and felt homemade. Shoe string fries were crispy, burger was great, pasta was great. The ranch is a must try, it was definitely a house ranch rather than a pre bottled sauce and it was phenomenal. Good menu selection, lots of different pies, and our server was a very nice young man. It was super quiet, not very busy for a week night, and it was super cheap.

Being a big fan of pie, I was super excited to come across Polly's Pies! I love a good pie and when I saw Polly’s Pie, I had high expectations. With the word pie in the title of the restaurant, I knew whatever pie I went for was going to be amazing. But unfortunately, I was very disappointed. When I saw their pie menu, I immediately went for the banana cream pie. I'm a HUGE banana cream pie fan. It is my all-time favorite. I ended up buying a slice to go. I immediately went in for a bite, but yikes! It was not good at all. The bananas weren't fresh, they were already all slimy and tasted off. The filling was off and the crust was very soggy. I was so sad!! I couldn't even finish it, it was just all a mess. I've had my fair share of banana cream pie and the slice just tasted expired. I'm afraid to go back to try a different flavor pie.

I stopped by to order something for takeout. The restaurant was not busy at all and it looked like there were only two customers seated. There were four people working but not one acknowledged that I was waiting in the front. It looked like one made eye contact with me but didnt say anything. I didnt bother to wait any longer after that so I left.

I came back after 2-3 years of being a regular and am dissapointed at how much the servíngs have changed. Smaller portions and higher prices. With inflation I understand restaurants have to raise prices to survive. Dont cheat the customer though, keep the portions the same and rise the price but dont rise the prices and increase the price on the customer. Its a shame I wont be coming back. Also my tuna sandwich was soggy and like reduced I size by 50% last time I had one here. So dissapointed!

POLLYS PIES is a crowning jewel in the restaurant industry. Cozy atmosphere, very friendly staff & plenty of DELICIOUS FOOD! Jessica is the manager at the Atlantic location. Her and her staff could not be nicer and more hospitable. I ordered a Key Lime pie. It was the perfect way to end a hot summer day! Tart, silky sweet, nice cinnamon in the gram cracker crust. One word of caution!! The toilet seat in the right side bathroom wiggles (possible pinch situation) when you sit, as of this visit 8-10-24. I discretely brought this up to Jessica and she said they would get it fixed ASAP. I really appreciate the fact that the bathroom was Clean. Considering the rest of the restaurant feels like walking into your beloved Grannys house, the bathroom could use sprucing up, some pretty pictures or artificial flowers.

The food here is top of the line. Delicious pancakes. Great breakfast sausage is hard to find, Pollys Pies doesnt have that problem. Best breakfast sausage in town. The bacon is great, too. I had the banana and macadamia nut pancakes.....awesome. The atmosphere will remind you of a 50s diner, but the decor doesnt feel dated. The service is excellent. Attententive but not intrusive. The biscuits and jam are some of the best Ive had. Made fresh, on-site. We were actually on our way to Jongewaards Bake n Broil but the wait was 40 minutes plus, as usual, on a weekend. Decided to try Pollys Pies. It turned out to be the best decision I made that day. Our new weekend, breakfast spot

This location was perfect for the spontaneous lunch date with my husband and daughter. We were seated next to the wall with some interesting facts about the origins of the resturant chain. The server was courteous in getting our orders, but she had to return to retake our order stating Im sorry, I got to the back and I couldnt read my own hand writing, I need to retake your order However, this time she did not write anything down, and luckily remembered it enought to get our orders correct. Unfortunately, she could not remember who ordered what, and so she handed my daughters Grilled Shrimp Skewer Salad to me. I politely guided her on whose plates were whos. The food looked and tasted amazing. I regret not taking pics. My husband ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with a Coke, and I ordered the Chicken Penne Pasta with an unsweetened Mango Ice Tea, my daughter had a Lemonade. The slices of pie were delicious, but one slice was icebox cold, and the other slice was perfectly warmed. The server also forgot our table throughout our visit, and we were literally thirsty while eating our food and dessert. We were only able to get one refill, despite being able to hear our server laugh and demand things/talk to other workers. This was really disappointing because I order to go frequently, and this was the first time I chose to dine inside. I really wish I could have given the server a better tip, and this location a five stars rating. Maybe next time?

I dont really write reviews of places as it is not worth my time but with what happened today it really rubbed me the wrong way. The parking is horrible as always but when I went inside I saw that there were a couple of tables that could have been cleaned to seat me and my partner, but while waiting we werent acknowledged for over 15 minutes. I went to the front of the waiting area where someone is meant to be so they can inform you of the wait time and was just looked at until I decided I would sit down until someone would come over. No one spoke to us to inform us if there was a wait or not but the servers did see us and I am 62 so I know I was seen. Another couple came inside with their dog and one sat in the patio area while having their partner wait at the front to be seated, but they were noticed and the server went around us and another party that was waiting and sat them first. Everything was just disorganized with no one speaking to those waiting to be seated and no one at the cash registers where you could order food to go or some of their backed goods. Been going here for many years since I was a child and it had been awhile since I went so I wanted to go with my partner and I will not be going back. Horrible way to start off the day.
