Cute place and friendly staff. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was really good. The tator tots were cooked perfectly. My husband said his crab and avocado sandwich was good as well. My only real complaint was the chairs were pretty uncomfortable. Otherwise I would recommend this place for anyone to try.

First time visiting. The food was ok. We got there later in the afternoon and didnt wait to be seated. Our food took about 30 minutes, mind you, it was an omlete. The bacon was not crispy at all. Crispy was in the actual description of the meal. Our waitress disappeared, and someone else came by to assist. We will try and go back, but it was a bit disappointing.

Im visiting new to the city and was so excited to try this place as I saw it had awesome reviews and the food looked delicious. I m in town to celebrate a birthday and I called around 12pm to ask for the wait time for a party of 5 was. The lady that answered was rushed and rude cut me off as I was asking and said I can t give that information, there s a wait though yeah sorry . I figured if that s how rude the place was going to be over the phone, I didn t even bother heading to the restaurant. Regardless if I was a first timer or a regular, horrible customer service for anyone. Sounds like they need a customer service training, hope no one else gets spoken to like that again.

You need to wait on Sundays because it is very busy, prices are a little high, waiters are kind, and hardworking, they take good care of the customers, you should tip them %20 living in Orange county is expensive, and they dont make much money, the restaurant owners dont pay their help enough salary knowing these people living paycheck to paycheck. We should be generous and tip them well.

I came in Saturday, July 6th, to this restaurant with a friend. We were seated at a table. We waited about 40-45 minutes for our food. As soon as our food arrived, the manager came up to our table and asked me to close my legs. To be clear, I was not wearing anything inappropriate. In fact, I was wearing more than a significant portion of the wait staff. I was wearing a dress that went down to my knees with a one piece bathing suit under my dress. I was also wearing a button down, unbuttoned, as a cover for my arms and chest. Verbatim, she said, I m the manager here, you should close your legs or put something over your knees. I don t know if you are wearing shorts or anything but I am just trying to help . When I told her that I was wearing shorts, and that her comments were inappropriate and made me uncomfortable, she again repeated that she was just trying to help. My meal was ruined as I felt extremely uncomfortable in this restaurant, but since we had waited so long for the food anyways, I did not want to be disrespectful to the cooks or the person with whom I was eating, so I ate the meal. The meal was fine. Parking was difficult, but we were eventually able to find a spot. Will not return, due to the manager leering at my (well covered) private parts and blaming me for it.

Feel that the food quality has slowly been going down. Last year, I had breakfast here, and it was just ok. I remember years past the breakfast being excellent. Was there a few days ago with my son for a nice lunch, but I felt a little dissatisfied. First of all, I was expecting a wait because every time I come here no matter the day it is busy. I was pleasantly surprised that we were sat pretty quickly and with a great view of the harbor. The waitress was nice and attentive, so the service has not changed. The issue I have is with the food. My son ordered a cheese burger, which came out looking like it was from a 5.00 burger stand, and the chicken sandwich I received had the thinnest piece of chicken I had ever seen. At first, I thought it was the slice of cheese that came with the sandwich , but realized it was the chicken. The flavor for both was just ok. Now I know everything has gone up in price and the cost of goods is high. I spent over 60.00 for a burger, sandwich, lemonade, and beer. But I do expect some sort of quality for the money spent. I believe that they are skimping on the food now to make up for the costs, but in the end, customers are still looking for good food at a reasonable price.

Didn t meet our expectations at all After watching Guy Fieri s endorsement on DDD & reading many reviews on google , we decided to visit this SL a try. The place near a water front so sitting outside on a beautiful day is good and can be relaxing. But we had a very bad experience here. Staring with the greeters at the front. Those 2 guys are inexperienced and gave us a vibe that they don t want to work there. Later they seated us inside but a group of people seated next to us so loud that we couldn t even get a word across our table. So finally the staff moved us outside and got us a table. We ordered their very famous dish ( the Guy Fieri raved about ) the mess. Truly it was a mess in more negative way. It was flavorless. I can only taste mashed potatoes. No other flavors can be tasted. I ate little bit and left it. Truly a disappointment We also ordered Chicken nacho. The portion was really big. But the bottom layer was clumpy cheese. It was so much. Then few chicken pieces over. It was ok. Better than their famous Mess. See the pictures. We ordered 2 chicken tender plates. These were heavily breaded with very little chicken. Only thing good was the fries came with it. The waiter may be came one or twice to check on us or refill our drinks. At the end of the meal , we called the waiter and told her about the food. She said oh ok sorry ! The manager came later and never taken responsibility for the mediocre food. We paid the bill in full and made a decision to never ever return to this place. What a great disappointing experience.

Schooner or Later is a staple of Long Beach and I always enjoy coming here. I typically get The Mess and its always delicious. I also love their Blueberry pancakes. Also the mimosas are great. They definitely dont skimp out on the champagne. If you come on a holiday, prepare for a long wait, but its worth it. Parking: During busy times the parking lot gets really full but its a very large parking lot.

Baked goods from the frozen section of a grocery store taste 100x better than any of the dry bakery items they have at Schooner. We always come here when visiting my in-laws in Southern California. First clue that something had changed - the menus were different, no big deal, but I noticed. Next, looking at the menu everything across the board is at least $2-$3 more. Fine, whatever, everything is more expensive everywhere and we haven t been in a year or so, to be expected. Then we order and the food comes .. my portion for Denny s favorite was half the size it used to be, cream cheese isn t mixed, and the hash browns aren t individual servings - they re cut and no longer individually griddled. Additionally the potatoes were overcooked on the outside (too crispy) and mush on the inside. Other people at our table all noticed and complained as well. I asked my mother in law if it had changed hands, and she confirmed it had sold recently. The new schooner is more expensive, smaller portions and worse all around. The view down by the marina is still great though. Also, when we were down there, there was zero wait (good for us, but seems like other people aren t into the changes from the new owners either). We loved this place for years and it was part of our routine when visiting family. This will probably be our last visit sadly.

Wait time was about 40 mins. Place was super packed but it was worth the wait. There s plenty of parking. There is a waiting area outside and you can order drinks while you wait to be called for your table. Our server was super nice and was very attentive. They do have restrooms outside and they were really clean. The food portions were a good size and it was very delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

Great place for breakfast. Good vegetarian options. Staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. Ample sitting space. Good for family and business sittings. Great view. Have heaters for outside sitting. Wheelchair accessibility: The place is on the first floor. Easily accessible for special ability customers.

It s still great. The Mess is the best way to go for food, if course. Great service, food, and atmosphere that justifies the prices.

Slow service. Waited forever between drinks/food and never really got checked on. I got the border breakfast burrito and it was basically dog food. I also asked for sour cream with it and they charged almost $2 for a tiny dollop. If you want sub-Dennys cuisine, then this is the place for you! First and last visit sadly.
