Our experience all around was great. We sat right on the water right before sunset. It was gorgeous. We got to interact with the bats and the music. What a beautiful evening.

Monday is all day Happy Hour. The food items and especially the super thin cut fries are delicious. The view is amazing. The lounge area with comfy sofas is perfect for date night. I just wish they had better cocktail deals during happy hour. Great interior design.

In town for the first time visiting a dear friend and had the most AMAZING experience at Tantalum! Sara D. Was our server and her descriptions of the menu items was the most inviting and detailed I’ve ever heard. She was SPOT ON when we got our entrees. Salmon was outstanding, along with the miso salad and crème brûlée was to die for.

The atmosphere sets this place apart. It was perfect for a special date night with my boyfriend and I. We had a reservation so we were seated immediately. Wait time seemed to be a little long for drinks but they were pretty busy. They seem to have a lot of bussers but not actual servers available to take and place your order. Plenty of bartenders and not a lot of people at the bar at the time I came. I enjoyed the music and our food as well. I had the Buddha Rice that was highly recommended and my man had the Mahi Mahi. It was a very nice experience overall maybe next time I’ll reserve an earlier time anticipating that they have more staff available. If my wait time for drinks is always this long then I probably wouldn’t continue to recommend.

Amazing food and ambiance. The atmosphere at tantalum was top notch. The entrance felt like walking into a forest and the interior was classy with Asian flare and right on the water. The food was top notch including the cocktails and appetizers. I wish I could have tried dessert but I was too full after the appetizer and main to order any. I would highly recommend the calamari appetizer and the scallop entree. Both were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Excellent high end restaurant for a date night or special occasion!

The Vibe is as consistent as the bar is bright at 4 pm. Kinda post-chick with a ribbon of techno and the faint musky nose of the once free love and Disco till we drop crowd. Always fun and often decent live music. My Pic is the Kobe burger. One of the best burgers, definitely top 5, I've enjoyed in 25 years in LB. But the steak fries were a revelation, a veritable showcase of the wonders of spud magic. I learned that they "finish" them in duck fat. Upon hearing my waiter tempering me with such bliss, a singular muscle in and around my heart tightened in anticipation of the caloric onslaught. Absolutely perfect steakhouse Duck fries. I've had 60 years of experience with French fries. I now have a goal each time I visit this shopping center. Great Old Fashioned with World Class Fries!

I had an incredible dining experience, all thanks to Jordan, our server! From the moment we sat down, Jordan was attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. He took the time to explain the menu, offer recommendations, and was always one step ahead in anticipating our needs. The level of service was outstanding he made sure our drinks were never empty and checked in just the right amount to ensure everything was perfect. Jordan also surprised me with a delicious chili cocktail and customized it with tequila to my liking. It was incredible !! Not only was Jordan professional, but he also brought a warm and positive energy that made the experience even more enjoyable. He genuinely cared about making sure we had a great meal, and it showed in every interaction. If you dine at tantalum, I highly recommend asking for Jordan you won t be disappointed! Thanks, Jordan, for making our night and my brother s birthday special ! We ll definitely be back.

I ordered the baked brie which, unfortunately was served to me cold. The cheese was chewy, cool and rubbery. I then ordered the hamburger, such an unpleasant burned aftertaste. My partner had the same experience. The atmosphere is sensational, but the food was inedible. SO disappointing. I wont be back.

Dont even know where to start. (Yes, I do). Walked in, and BOOM! It sounds like the intro before you walk into heaven, lol. I hear the jazz melodies, the ambiance of a modern gatsby like dinner; people sitting, standing, walking, snapping, talking, dim but not too dim lighting, a small stage with a live musical band singing and playing jazz/blues music. Straight out of a movie, if you ask me. And then I get to my seat, seats are beautiful, almost home like, but you still feel the ambiance of a smooth starlit restaurant. The servers were elite with response times, very accommodating. And the food came out promptly, the drinks were professionally crafted. I had a old-fashion my 3rd time having one and this one was PERFECT. Ordered the brussel sprouts for an appetizer and the beef and chips with a cheese sauce. Man listen! The chips were like a thin steak fry, fried crisp with soft insides and chili powder and salt lightly coating it. I wanna say it had chives sprinkled atop too. The beef was a braised short rib very delectable. I was leery on the cheese sauce but it was so mild, and semi nutty flavor, creamy and very cohesive to the beef and chips. The sprouts were air-fried like with a balsamic reduction mm mm mmmm. Had the right amount of char and crisp and then you get to the heart its tender. Sop it up in the sauce or eat em dry, they didnt disappoint. My entree was a pan seared mahi mahi with a mash and mango slaw atop. Im sorry I cant really describe it like I did the others because I INHALED IT...IMMEDIATELY HAHAHAHA. I was very very pleased. The flavor profiles were meshing very well. I had little doubts of the slaw but the slaw wasnt as sweet as I assumed but thats because the mash and the fish blended very well. The mahi was alllmost cooked perfect. Just a tad bit over-cooked on like the smallest piece of fish (which is understandable) so it didnt really take away from the dish because I can imagine what itd be if it was perfect. Afterwards we walked over to the seating area close to the stage where the harbor greets you with a beautiful bright smile glaring thru the window. The singer was amazing, the band was magnificent! The drummer and the trombone player pssssh bravo! I had a great experience man. Ill be back SOON.

Super nice having dinner on the water with a beautiful sunset. Just make sure you are in the kitchen when they cook your streak so you can pull it off the grill yourself. Ordered medium rare. Got boot leather. At least the fries and calamari were good. Also no steak knives. You have to use regular knives when cutting your beef jerky.

First off, the hostess were all standing around talking when I walked in. Who needs 4 of them for an almost empty restaurant. Nobody said hello, I had to ask if they were open for seating.They looked entirely like they didnt want to be bothered. Initially, I was sat right in front of a window, in the back of the restaurant, with the sun blaring right in my eyes...even though the entire restaurant was empty. Not sure why they would sit me way out of the way in a bad spot. I had to ask for a different seat from the workers who still didnt want to be bothered. The food was bland, overcooked and not really hot. I asked for a certain drink, got another. Honestly, wouldnt go back...I paid $200 for food that I couldve made at home, and have taste better, for $20. Also, the place looked like it had not been cleaned in ages. Only redeeming quality was that the server was nice, other than that this place is a no go. Save your money. And for the love of God, if someone asks for an espresso martini, dont say you have it and then serve a White Russian.

I honestly loved this restaurant! Everything from the entrance to inside just gives off an amazing vibe; you feel like you ve been transported to a different country! The restaurant is right by the marina, so you have a great view of the sunsets if you go in the evening! Amazing service and great food (they even have veggie options, just ask). Also loved that there was live music, super chill and not too loud so you could still hear each other talking! Highly recommend! They even have brunch options on the weekends too ;)

We went to celebrate two birthdays. Our server seemed to be new, or just not that good. She introduced herself and then disappeared without taking our drink order. The scallops were bland and a little undercooked. The burger was great. As was fried rice and steak sandwich. The overall experience was not good.

This was a delicious surprise. A must try. The atmosphere from first entering the walkway was magical. We were transported to a garden along the winding pathway. We chose to be seated on the patio what a surprise we we on the bay watching the sailboats and ocean almost under us. It was so relaxing. Then the food I ordered a portobello mushroom burger. Hungry man my hubby ordered the Kobe beef burger (med. rare). They were bountiful we couldnt finish them so doggie bags. Last night we were eating dinner- a drunk man came, tried to read something on my husband s shirt and fell on him. My husband stood up to get out of the way and the man got upset and tried to fight him. His family carried him out BUT an hour later he came back with a friend who made his intentions very clear he stood infront of us and tried to fight my husband AGAIN! Saying he was gunna stab him. The disappointment was with the manager John. The drunk man was clearly over-served and being violent.. john said he would keep him on the other side of the restaurant (he couldn t cause the two guys CONTINOUSLY came over to summons my husband to fight). i put my hand out infront of the man who was making a b-line for my husband and John scolded me dont you touch him! To which i was confused. Im trying to keep this man from lunging at my husband yet again. after staff and myself pressed to get these people kicked out john finally did. Such a aggressive situation, potentially violent and there was no de-escalation or action from management until they were pressed. This totally odd/unprovocked situation was enough for us to never return. Drunk people are everywhere but how its handled by management matters. We were treated like aggressors even though we clearly were being approached and tried to deescalate. Totally disappointed. Staff was lovely- they were apologetic and protective and tried to get the guys kicked out. The waitresses did what they could

Do yourself a favor and do not dine in. The customer service is awful, from the hosts in front to the servers(specifically Jordan and his negative attitude). The food is actually great and that s the only reason why I keep coming back. If it wasn t for the food, I would definitely give them a one star. Take out only if you want a good experience here.

The food and atmosphere was great. They had a live band that was really good. I d recommend the Calamari, Brussels sprouts, Wasabi Crusted filet and 18 oz ribeye. The service was slow. Each entree came out like 5-10 minutes apart with 11 people in our party. Waters were empty for long periods of time and we had to flag them down after a while to order more cocktails. We were there on a Friday night so I know the server was busy but for a table of 11 I would have preferred more attentiveness for the amount of money we spent.

Food was mediocre and nothing special. Came here on a Saturday for brunch/lunch time. Service was polite but very slow. Their menus dont have too much of a difference between them (brunch and lunch) we ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. The appetizers came after the entrees. I ordered a strawberry fields drink and it tasted pretty bad, I still drank it and paid for it but i wouldnt order it again or recommend it. My husband ordered the lavender mimosa which he said was pretty good. Considering we made a special trip out to this restaurant, we were both a bit disappointed at how poor the quality of things were. They arent quite terrible just not an experience wed opt to do again. Considering the area, I feel there are other restaurants that could offer better quality food and service.

Food was all dried out and stale. I got the short rib sliders, calamari, Kobe beef burger, and chicken salad wraps.It was all disappointing and again dried out. My wife ordered a coke and it was flat no gas or flavor , so she changed it for a sprite and it was also flat then we got a lemonade instead and still had the same problem but the waiter slammed the lemonade in the table as to say he was annoyed so we decided not to ask for anything else. Paid the bill and will never go back . Best part was the nice vibe inside and that it sits in the water.

Perfect spot for sunset social hour - cocktails, food, band and staff all stellar! Vegetarian options: The chef can accommodate requests to sub the protein for vegetarians, for example tofu lettuce wraps instead of chicken - the crispy tofu is delicious!

This was the worst restaurant experience we ve ever had from start to finish. We had seat ourselves, found a table outside. Server got our app order right away but the food came out in literally 3 minutes. That sounds great but NO! The food was OLD, not fresh, previously cooked. The tuna tower was OLD, the ground chicken for the lettuce wraps was OLD, the Brussels were good but they too were not freshly cooked. The mains were a disaster. The pad Thai was OILY to the max. The noodles were covered in oil and there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the bowl. The taste was awful and had a slight soy sauce taste. Not authentic pad Thai at all. Yuck! The crispy tofu was OILY too and the tofu was creamy or gooey on the inside. This place doesn t have a clue what they are doing. Finally, the brisket sliders had zero sauce and they were dry as the desert. I don t know who eats here and gives this place 4-5 stars. I m confused. To top it off, we told our server and she flat out ignored our complaints and charged us full price. I asked to speak to the manager and she adjusted our bill. My adult son was coming out of the bathroom and heard them mocking me as he was leaving. How professional. The restaurant is very dark, old and the food sucked. I would never ever return.

Nice location! Went there for happy hour. Their happy hour menu is somewhat limited. We got the chicken lettuce wraps and they were really yummy and enough to share. They have live music on Thursdays, which was great. A lovely little duo with a fun and varied song list. We will definitely visit again.

Tantalum Restaurant in Long Beach is a true gem! The waterfront views create a stunning and serene atmosphere, perfect for a special evening out. This place has really lost its shine. The food is still pretty good, but not great like it once was. The service is just okay, and I blame understaffing for it being less than it should be, but the worst thing is the interior. From where we sat, the floors are filthy, the walls are banged up and filthy, the chairs are banged up scuffed up and filthy, the lanterns hanging from the ceiling are ripped and banged up, there was a dirty rag on the floor, a bucket on the floor, and a bunch of junk and old chairs piled up in the corner. Either ownership is not paying attention or they don t care. Either way this place is not one I thoroughly enjoy anymore. If you are seeking ambience you won t find it here, unless you re going for that dirty third world kind of ambience.

Joined some friends for dinner. Our waiter Jack was the best. Courteous, pleasant, and super professional. The experience deserves a 10, but google only allows 5 stars max. Food was on point, atmosphere over the top. Views amazing. Highly recommend. We drove from Inland Empire to Long Beach and will be definately going back.

Met up with a friend for dinner. Nice place, on the pier overlooking the river. Place wasn t packed - Thursday evening was perfect to catching up. Less people and more attentive waitress. Who was very friendly by the way. My friend visited this restaurant a few times, so she recommended a few things. I wouldn t say pricey, average price. Lots of food for the price as well. I couldn t finish my meal in one setting. You definitely get a lot of food. My friend did order the Kobe Burger which was pretty big. She enjoyed her meal. I basically ordered fried rice. Very fulfilling and delicious. Lots of food too. Ordered the strawberry lemonade not too sweet just right. View was nice. Parking is free. I would recommend dining at Tantalum.

Had diarrhea after eating the swordfish here. Food was very bland and not flavorful. I had to ask for more seasoning and sauce. The artichoke appetizer was not as good as other reviewers have said (don t order it). The services were good though. You would be better off going to an actual Asian restaurant instead of this one for better food.

The food was excellent!! It tasted so good and it was delicious. But the service was not so great. The workers their are okay and really nice but the manager had an attitude on his face and was not very welcoming. Kid-friendliness: It was okey not the greatest.

Everything was fantastic, my steak was perfect, the fries amazing and the drinks were great. Even had desert which everyone loved. Hope to be a regular. About $350. For four people including 3 wines and 2 blood red margaritas .

Great interior, overlooking Alamitos Bay. The bar stretches through the lower level of the restaurant looking out onto the water. The food was great! I enjoyed the mussels although there was a few not tasty dead mussels. The Live music was lovely and the drinks were priced really well.

My favorite restaurant in Long Beach so far this trip! Filling portions of delicious food and service. Highly recommend the beef and chips, it s literally a meal in itself! The pad thai was okay but I didn t care for the dark pieces of chicken meat and some cartilage that I got. And dark chocolate lava cake dessert was decadent and so yummy.

I would say that Tantalum is worth going to but I wasnt wowed. The menu is extensive and the portions are of adequate size, but the food was just good. My one complaint is that it is loud which made conversations with friends challenging. I will probably go again at some time but not any time soon.

Great high-end restaurant on the water. Lots of cool Asian themed statues and decor. 2 bars and lots of seating including a lounge area with couches. We had the Beef n Chips which are short rib, duck fat fries, which were delicious. The bar we sat at had a great view of the water, boats, an apartment building with docks. Good people watching. The waitstaff seemed a little stressed, but that didnt effect the service. We got our drinks and food in a timely manner. It is a little pricey, so we ended up going somewhere else after about an hour. Id go back for sure for an anniversary or Valentines. Parking: Shared with other stores around there. Free and easy to find a spot.

Enjoyed our 1st wedding anniversary at this beautiful gem of a restaurant. A must to din outside on the patio. Our waiter Nick was fabulous. Brússel sprouts are a must appetizer. The kiwi margarita rocks..and so does the live band. Plenty of parking. We split the pad thai (generous portion).
