Well, this was a delightful find! I googled “restaurants near me” and this popped up. A short walk later, we were sitting on a breezy patio, surrounded by happy eaters, and excellent service. The menu was brought enough for all of our party. The portions were generous, the flavors were really good, and the staff was very friendly. There was nothing fancy, but the people here are proud of what they serve. The single pancake “side” was the size of a whole plate! The fruit side was massive compared to any other fruit serving we’ve received at any restaurant. Coffee refills were plentiful, and the staff served all the tables instead of simply assigned tables. Inside the restaurant was small, but there were plenty of seats on the outside patio. The bathroom was clean. I would definitely recommend and return to this place. This is a great breakfast spot.

Everyone was so kind, patient and very helpful! Every single staff member checked on me and made sure I didn’t need anything and when I did need something they brought it right away, even though they weren’t my server. I would come back just for the service.

Atmosphere: 8/10
Small and quaint. Much more outdoor seating than indoor. Pretty clean, enough to make me feel comfortable enough to stay and eat. I think they just need to rearrange the place and make it more comfortable and inviting.

Food: 6/10
I only had the bacon burrito so that’s all I can comment on. It was rolled up very poor and about a quarter of the way in I had to set it down and roll it myself so it wouldn’t keep falling apart at the other end. Flavor was ok, but the salsa recipes need to be thrown away and revised. The salsa verde was barely decent enough to try and the red one?? Worse than slapping ketchup on your burrito, but even if you like ketchup on yours I don’t think you’ll like whatever that stuff is they tried to call salsa. I gave up and just ate my burrito with chalula.

Overall I would come here for a simple breakfast simply because the service was so phenomenal. And random fyi, but the bathroom is super cute!!

I on the other hand ate my food but did not enjoy it. The description of the country mix on the menu said it was made with home fries, when it arrived it looked a bit underwhelming, and tasted the same. Prepare to wait (for a table and your food), but the food is worth it. This place is a great Saturday or Sunday breakfast spot (or any day of the week if you can swing it). It’s not fancy place, but they are well staffed and the service is solid.
We ordered a mix of yummy stuff - the fried zucchini, a biscuit, a side of Turkey sausage, the vegetarian scramble, and an order of French toast. All were delicious.

Always see that this place is packed so it was our day to check out why. The breakfast was really good and fresh. I ordered a fresh fruit cup with my breakfast and it was beautiful. Some places you order fresh fruit and you wonder what happened. Eggs were cooked the way I ordered and the potatoes were fresh and had a nice crisp to them. My husband said the french toast was really good. Definitely don't wait to try this little Long Beach 💎

I recently saw a review on here saying that people are discriminated on based on race. I have been coming here for years, the people who work here are some of the most loving people we know. The owner is phenomenal, caring and has often been involved in charitable work.

I have nothing to gain from this, but I will not allow a great business to get a bad reputation because of sensitive feelings.

All the staff here will ignore you if you are a Hispanic male, 3 parties came after me and they all got their orders taken before me. Please avoid this place if you don t want to be discriminated against. My friend recorded it from the parking lot to show this place just has certain people they value more than a Hispanic man

How can a place say they are Hawaiian inspired if there isn t any Hawaiian food on the menu? I went here first time since 2010 because I was craving loco moco. Come to find out, that it is no longer on the menu. I ordered Portuguese sausage with eggs instead as the closest Hawaiian food option. The scrambled eggs were okay. The home fries were unseasoned so I had to use a quarter of the Cholula bottle to douse them in flavor. I noted that the fresh-squeezed juices were advertised on the menu but I saw the waitstaff openly carrying gallons of Tropicana orange and Treetop apple juices. The whole time the smell of Fabuloso permeated the indoor seating area. I honestly don t know why they are packed every weekend, perhaps they offer a senior discount? 2 stars because the pineapple slices tasted good.

Solid experience everytime we visit. Couple of us had omelets, they were slightly overcooked, but not bad for flavor. Excellent biscuit. Need better jam presentation (tiny lidded plastic cup). The granola pancakes are tasty, too, with frozen blueberries, if you care. Don t like fake maple syrup, so I asked for jam, and they brought out a very liquidy berry sauce-y item that was delicious drizzled on the pancakes. I asked for my two poached eggs to be well-drained; I tipped the cup out onto the napkin under the cup to drain them myself (this seems so obvious to me: who wants extra water in their eggs?). They were perfectly cooked, however, so . Good coffee - including decaf. iForgot to take pix!

Ate breakfast here. The service and kitchen team worked seamlessly. I have had slower service at McDonalds. They were quick, efficient, and responsive to any customer requests. While prices are a bit higher because of the California business climate, it was still a great value. The food was excellent, and the presentation was very nice. Service team friendliness was notable. I highly recommend this establishment.

We arrived just before 8am and initially sat outside and ordered tea since there was no seating available inside. Just before ordering, a guest left and they asked if wed like to move inside, which we did. We soon ordered breakfast and it was promptly served. Both meals were piping hot and thoroughly enjoyed. Cant wait to go back!

This place is always busy, the food menu is vast, plenty of choices. The wait wasnt bad, 5 to 10 mins..we ordered our food and it came out fresh and hot. Food portions are plentiful, they dont just give you a lot of food, the quality and taste of the food was amazing! Parking is plentiful, I highly recommend the pastrami and poor boy.

Wait times are unreasonably long; too few of the outdoor tables have umbrellas, and one usually has to sit for long periods, uncomfortably, in the bright sun. The coffee is weak, and getting a warm up requires an act of Congress. While the food is acceptable for breakfast fare, the service is simply atrocious. Servers often serve those just seated while not paying attention to those who have waited twice or three times as long. My impression is that the wait staff is inexperienced and not properly trained.

This place is ALWAYS great. Today I got the Chorizo Special. It was HORRIBLE. I really dont know what I was eating. It tasted like mashed potatoes with a tiny bit of chorizo in them. Like I said, I will chalk this up to a bad creation. It will in NO WAY keep me from coming back for something else.

Updated 8/2023... No more Captain Crunch French toast on the menu but the service is still great. My over medium eggs were definitely over easy and really runny. Original Post:. The service was outstanding! Thanks Tina. As for the brunch... Delicious. Captain Crunch French Toast was awesome, and we sampled plain, blueberry, and chocolate chip pancakes. All were good, but the French toast was the standout here. My daughter had the chocolate chip waffle but it turned it really soggy because of the whipped cream. My son ordered the Turkey Sausage Plate but I preferred the Aloha Omelette because of the flavor of the Portuguese Sausage.... Yum! There was a live performer summer and playing the guitar in the patio but I couldnt hear him that well.

Food and service were fantastic! Stopped in for a late breakfast and couldn t be happier. Veggie omelet was loaded with fresh veg. The sourdough toast was fully buttered, which we all know isn t always the case at other establishments, and the homemade strawberry jam and spicy salsa were delicious. Can t wait to go back for lunch!

No going to lie, it took me a minute to spot the restaurant after driving around the parking lot. Once in side the girls were very friendly. We had the hungry platter, the French combo with a side of house fries extra crispy. The house fries are made in house and they came with fresh green onions. Nice. The bacon was really crispy, crunch, oh sooo good.

I was craving a breakfast burrito and Local Spot popped up. It s a busy Sunday morning, so I decided to get it to go. I ordered the #2 and handed over a $10 bill. First, the service here is top notch. As I was sitting and waiting for my order, every server that walked by said hello, smiled, and offered me something drink. It s a very small place, but the efficiency is that of a larger place with lots of storage space. The waltz they all did around each other was entertainment while I waited. Which was less than 10 minutes. The burrito. Oh my. It is a two-handed treat wrapped up in a tortilla. It is packed with all kinds of good stuff. Stuffed! I drove about 10-15 minutes to eat it at the beach and it was still too hot to eat. Then, I added the green sauce. Eye opening! Pleasantly warm. Looking forward to my next trip and the next one will be a dine-in adventure. Thanks Local Spot!

Great spot for breakfast or lunch. All outside dining, fast servers who are very helpful and friendly, delicious comfort food menu with just the right amount of options. We ate there twice on visiting the Long Beach area. Loved it both times. Be prepared for a possible short wait since it s quite popular, especially on weekends.

Came here with a big group of 16 people. It took them about 35 minutes to seat us, which they prepared very well. While we were waiting, we asked for coffee and they promptly gave it to us with cream and sugar. Food was pretty good and hit the spot for most of us. A lot of us got the french toast, waffles, or burrito specials. The burritos were loaded. The waffles has a special scent to it (I think cinnamon) which made it stand out from the usual fare. The french toast was yummy especially with blackberries. not sure if that is standard or they added it for me. I didnt request it but I did say I wish their was fruit on it. Others that got french toast, and had ordered a side of fruits, had the mixed melons in their plate, which is why I dont know if they heard me wrong and added blackberries (no xtra charge on my bill), but it was greatly appreciated.

Food is just like every other breakfast place but the restaurant was extremely crowded and takeout was really late.

Friendly staff and good food. Its popular, so if you order take-out dont always expect the order to be ready quickly because the food is freshly made. Call ahead for take-out.

Excellent breakfast. I had the Hungry Man with pancakes, eggs over easy. Everything- the pancakes, eggs, home fries, bacon, and toast- was cooked perfectly. The coffee was solid, too. Last, but not least, the staff and service was excellent. They were friendly, quick, and competent. Topped off my coffee 3 times! I m from NYC and am usually less than impressed with Cali casual dining, but this place was exceptional. I could not ask for anything more. Give them your biz and a big tip!

I actually didnt go there, but my boyfriend went there when his son was visiting us from Washington state and they said the food was delicious. Since I was not there I cant say how much it cost. On the day in question I was actually going to the bank next door.

They have Friendly servers, good food and reasonable prices. Dine in is dining outdoor on their patio. They have umbrellas, but If its raining I wouldnt go there until it stopped.
