Brisket is the 💣 Had a nice smoke ring and a delicious layer of fat/flavor.....the ladies were nice and the corn 🌽 and beans were good as well. The meat was tender and melted along with the fat....it was so good. And the fact that they Dodger fans too, will definitely be back 👍

Big Ants BBQ is hands down my top pick for getting BBQ in the Los Angeles area!

I'm always surprised by how few people I hear talking about Big Ants, compared to some of the more hyped spots!
Every time I come to Big Ants, the service is super fast and efficient, the food is generously sized and delicious, and the prices are really good (especially for LA)!!

A few of my favorite items on the menu here include the Pull Pork Sandwich - it's big, thick, and yummy to chow down on. The Mac-N-Cheese here is also SO creamy, cheesy, and rich!
Other sides I often get include the Cole Slaw and/or Macaroni Salad, both of which are lighter, fresh additions to the meats and always tasty as well.

I highly recommend trying out Big Ants BBQ if you haven't yet. It's also a great take-out option, we pop into it from time to time when craving some good ol' BBQ, place an order to go, and it's always ready almost right away!

Talk about a "hole in the wall", seriously a hidden GEM when it comes to BBQ. We randomly found this place over the weekend after going to the Titanic exhibit "nearby". We looked up nearby food and thought, BBQ, what the heck, why not. Dayum! We have tried to think of better tasting bbq and seriously cannot come up with anything (from our experience of course). Flavor, on point!! Juicy meats, fall off the bone tender. Regular and oh so spicy BBQ sauces to add to your experience. This place wins all around best for me as even the sides kicked a**. Bbq baked beans and mac n cheese were super good!! When do you find a BBQ place that wins #1 in both areas??? You'll be hard pressed to find one. We tried bricket and ribs as well as a hot link. All top notch. Friendly service, great food. What else can you ask for.? Don't let the surrounding area scare you lol, just go!!!

Excellent bbq spot! Will definitely be returning. The food is delicious. We ordered brisket, chicken, hot links, brisket nachos, fries, and mac and cheese and it was all so good. We brought our 4 kids and they all enjoyed the food.

One of the most authentic bbq I’ve ever had. All the meat is juicy and tender. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. Great quality food and great price. My favorites were the brisket, cornbread, and Buttery corn. Definitely THE SPOT for bbq. Parking is everywhere. You can park at the donut shop, 7-11, and behind the donut shop.

The pulled park sandwich was immaculate. Served lightly sauced with a sweet and a spicy bbq on the side. The Cole slaw was so good - creamy, tangy and fresh. The service was swift and polite. I liked this place way better than Craft by fire and smoke, where I gave a bad review for the service. Cant wait to come back to Big Ant s!

Perfect BBQ fix, without the hour long lines or expensive prices. The ribs were easily fall off the bone soft and brisket looked perfect, with plastic fork cutting tenderness. The sides were also very tasty with BBQ baked beans and collard greens recommended. Big Ant does it right for less, in downtown LA.

The moment you enter, you get hit by the smell. I forgot to take photos of my food, but the brisket, ribs, and links were amazing. The attention and service by the staff were very welcoming. This was my first time buying here, but my wife and I loved it. We are definitely coming back for more.

This place is such a gem. The people who run it are kind and attentive - they really get hospitality. The brisket burrito keeps me coming back. Big enough for two portions, and so so tasty. It s a great value for what you get.

The food is sooooo good here. I find myself getting cravings for it. I always pick up to go though because although there is seating there, its very basic, striped , no frills atmosphere and doesnt really add to my eating pleasure. The service is always quick and pleasant and there is always a steady stream of customers. Parking: Theres only 6 parking spots in this little area that had 4 other businesses. Sometimes its hard finding a spot. However since most people are only there for take away, Ive airways been able to squeeze in somewhere.

We moved to east LA from Burbank area and werent sure wed ever be able to replace Ribs USA for our BBQ needs but Ants does that and more. We find ourselves ordering ahead and picking up meat and sides when we get the hankering or when we have guests. I rated it a 2 on atmosphere... because its clearly a takeout restaurant, so dont let that keep you away (except if youre looking to eat in).

The place is rather small, nevertheless is very clean. Theyre business people so dont expect any kind of small talk or initiate any small talk, straight to the point. Ive had the all the plates they serve its all freaking finger leaking, make you wanna slap your mama kind of good. They know what they doing. Its all pork meat cooked to perfection, Ive said it before Ill say it once more, black people can BBQ Im not sure where this folks are from but when you taste their babyback ribs or their pullpork, youll see its truly art what they do in that kitchen. Tip: if you can get urself some Hawaiian dinner rolls and order any of the plates. Youll love it or my name isnt SERGIO.

Today was my 1st time here and besides bad location and parking. Aside from 1 negative review this food is just great I know texas bbq and Big Ants is by far very good had a fully rack and brisket the meat was juicy tender and full of flavor. HUGE portions. If I had to complain Id say most BBQ places might give you a roll or cornbread and this place we didnt see either, HOWEVER, the portions were so LARGE and food was so good we didnt really care. We got brisket burrito and chicken plate and side order of fries. Im kind of a worshipper of carbs so my sides I got Mac n cheese and macaroni salad. Definitely if were back in that part a town well go back. Parking: We found a spot. Parking lot shared with donut place and something else.

First time checking this spot out...the Babyback Ribs are the best in the area. Meat fell off the bones, it was great, super fresh. Brisket was soooo good I almost took it all down by myself, but I had to share with the hubs! The Pulled Pork is so good too! This is the go to for some good BBQ! Dont wait!

The person taking the order must have had a long day of explaining the menu to customers, because when I asked what the sides were she let out a big sigh, handed me a to go menu and then pointed at their wall to also let me know I could have looked there. Personally I havent been to many places where the menu is on the wall. I put my order in and asked for the restroom. When I got out my order was packed up to go. Making my order to go was not a discussion, I planned to sit for a while and enjoy the meal. When I looked at the bag a little funny, she says This is to go, right?. As she continues to put utensils and napkins in the bag. Already over her demeanor, I said No, but it can be. I took the order and left. I definitely wont be going out of my way to come back.

I really wanted to like this place. Great staff, cool little spot, but the ribs tasted and felt like they had been reheated a few times. Real dry, yet slimy, and would crumble around the bone. Just overcooked to hell and back, cooled, probably wrapped in plastic wrap, and held in a Sham warmer of some sort. It just felt like steamed, bagged meat. While it did taste like it took a ride in the smoker, the ribs I had felt like that was a few days prior to when I had them. Sides were alright. Looks like theyre buying in their hot links from an outside purveyor which is also kind of lame. If you want legit BBQ in LA, check out Moos Crafg BBQ. They at least have par systems in place. BBQ is meant to sell out the day of. If you cant do that, wheel back how much youre throwing on the smoker until you find that volume of sales versus output of smoker sweet spot. People want fresh meat off the pit, not proteins that have been cooled and reheated no telling how many times throughout the week. I hope they can right the ship because it does seem like good people are running it. They just need to tighten up operations.

I m from Texas and have spent decades in SoCal searching for the best brisket. THIS IS IT. I cannot express how thrilled I am to find brisket so moist and well-seasoned that it doesn t need sauce, which is the hallmark of the very best brisket in Texas. I would drive across the county for Big Ant s brisket, but I m glad I don t have to. I will become a regular here for sure.

Just found this place and I was so glad. Had the pulled pork sandwich. Then BBQ baked beans and collard greens. Also I bought a piece of corn bread. Everything was fantastic! Way beyond what I guessed. Going back this week for baby back ribs, and corn and either greens or BBQ baked beans. Im sure my review will be the same. You have got to try this restaurant. Its too tasty here. They cook meat on real coals from logs, its real taste. So many meat items in menu, so I so glad to open this place for me. Meat eaters, you cant forget this place like me. I think its family owned restraint, very welcome on receptions))) I will come back here. Many thanks !! I drove a while to try the food here and was not impressed. I don t think the ribs saw a smoker nor even a flame. The meat on the ribs tasted boiled, not much of a barbecue flavor. The brisket was good and tender but also lacked any smokey taste. Sadly not feeling this barbecue place and not worth the price .

I have lived in this area for over thirty years. Been driving pass this hiding in plane sight treasure countless times. But I had to learn about it on line somewhere, and paid them a visit. I paid 21.64 and took my Baby Back Ribs home. I did not eat the receipt or the packaging. but every thing else was consumed in record time. There are six other business nearby that I often visit. But now I have Big Ant on my mind all the time. The two down sides are: It is very hard to find even when you on top of this place. The parking lot is too small. But even if you need a seeing eye dog, or have to walk in from where you had to park--- go anyway. Mouth Heaven awaits.

I just tried Big Ants, which is yielding 4.6 at the time of review. Unfortunately, nothing I ate validated the rating. I ordered brisket, baby baby ribs, a hotlink, coleslaw, and collard greens. Everything was just okay. The coleslaw tasted like it was store-bought. The collard greens were fine. The hotlink was a bit too salty and not spicy at all. The ribs were moist and tender, which is nice, but they were definitely overcooked as they didnt hold to the bone at all. Im almost certain they were cooked in an oven rather than smoked, there was no smoke ring and no smoke flavor. The brisket (flat) was on the dry side, and it tasted like it came from an unhappy cow.

The meats are freakin amazing. The sides. Not at all. The mac n cheese is Bland no hint of salt or any flavor, coleslaw needs a little more sauce because it was dry, the beans I think are out of a can, but the meats the brisket is nice and tender melts in your mouth the chicken is delicious and there homemade spicy BBQ sauce is delicious if you go only get the meats. I will.

This is a good bbq joint - you can taste the quality of the preparation of the meat. The portions are very good and prices are reasonable for the food. The location is good with lots of seating and staff was very friendly. The brisket was juicy and probably the best tasting of everything else. They ran out of ribs so we got hot links and chicken. We also got beans and coleslaw. The greens was my favorite side dish - should have gotten a bigger portion for it. As for bbq joints if you like super rich and sweet then youll love this place. By far the sweetest sauce on any meat out of any other bbq place Ive tried and youll get a hefty sugar dose from the beans and coleslaw. For me it was little more than I could handle without something to cut the sweetness which probably would have been a soda. I would say youll do well with the brisket because for me it had the perfect seasoning and thats one of the toughest meats to get right. The hotlink was a little hefty for me but tasted quite good and had no sweet sauce on it.

Fantastic service and delicious food! My partner and I shared the brisket combo and added a hot link. It was more than enough for the two of us. The brisket just melted in my mouth and the mac salad and baked beans were the perfect sides. The hot link was also fantastic. We will be back for sure!

I am from bay area and stayed in LA for the weekend. When I searched in Google map for BBQ, this restaurant showed up which is less than 2 minutes. I ordered the 2 Meat combo & 2 sides: - Brisket, BBQ Back Ribs, Greens and BBQ Baked Beans. All were delicious. BBQ Ribs were very good. They fell out from the bones and the meat was tender and tasty. The Brisket meat is tender and seasoned well. Love the BBQ Baked Beans. The greens were good and healthy side choice. Definitely will come back again.

Awesome service. The food is all good. Especially this 1 sandwich that I forgot the name of it. So good. I highly recommend that place if youre craving for anything with BBQ.

They are really worth the wait and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I live around the corner and I always stop by for their ribs and chicken . 5 star restaurant .

First time trying this place... Ribs were tender but kind of dry and not as flavorful as they looked. Beans were good.. The cornbread slice was ok, decent size. The mac & cheese was horrible! very disappointing it didnt have any flavor at all, the cheese was not even creamy, very bland. The service was not great either. I was expecting a lot better since this is a BBQ spot and it was pricey. I wont be coming back.

We ordered a half pound of the pulled pork and half a pound of the brisket. Both were well cooked. Tender with a nice crust and burnt bits. Pork was a little too sweet, but still good. Brisket had a touch of that molasses flavor to the smoke. It was fall apart tender. Did not get any sides. It was not cheap. Might go back on a whim but wont likely make an out-of-the way trip to return.

Ive passed this place hundreds of times so finally I stopped made my order great service took my food home the ribs were fall off the bone the baked beans were delicious Ive had better macaroni but still good nevertheless cornbread was a little dry heated it up put a little butter on it made a difference overall good experience
