I was really hoping to support this establishment, but my experience was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, the food made me sick shortly after eating it, and the service was awful from start to finish. You have to tip before so you are tipping on a service you don t even know would be decent. The bar tender was the only professional worker. It seems that because the restaurant is so busy, they ve stopped caring about the quality of both the food and customer service. I understand it was Sunday during a dodger game super busy, but that s no excuse for poor food handling and inattentive staff.

As a native Texan, this wasnt a bad bbq joint. I would say if youre looking for bbq that reminds you of home this didnt hit. I would say the brisket is cooked well but lacks smoke, salt, and pepper. Just make sure that if youre coming here to not expect Terry Blacks/Goldees level bbq. Very kind crew tho.

good for california standards but nothing like southern bbq. The ribs were probably the best of the offered meats, the brisket was missing some flavor but the texture was good, the pulled pork was pretty good. Of the sides, the mac and cheese is a def must-try.

Disappointed. The food is mediocre. I am disappointed for a few reasons. We drove for an hour to order Beef Ribs, which they claim to have on weekends but they did not have any. Now if you have not had bbq in Texas, Kansas or North Carolina then you may be impressed. I only give you 3 stars to support you and hope that you guys can improve the food and the customer experience. When you walk to a bbq place and you stay in the line, you will get your food right away after paying, there is no wait. If you know, you know.

The food was average, and the service was non-existent. It took them 30 minutes to serve our meal, even though the barbecue is supposed to be ready. I also had a hard time finding water. Worst of all, we drove 40 minutes specifically for the beef ribs, which their website said are served on weekends, but they decided to offer fish this week instead. I won t be returning.

If youre okay with a lengthy wait, standing and waiting around watching others eat, and ultimately getting mediocre barbecue, then this place might be for you. I waited total of 50 minutes to get my food, had to hear the name of every person that ordered food shouted, and eventually had totally mediocare BBQ. This place is so overrated, with an unjustified hype that has nothing to do to the quality of food, service or atmosphere that I experienced. I wouldnt recommend making a special trip, even if you are in LA.

Anticipated my visit (1st time) & was beyond DISAPPOINTED..... Absolutely no parking..... upon ordering, mentioned that this was our first time & the cashier was very dismissive and interested......so, ordered the first item ( under DURESS) seeing that the line was getting longer.... Upon picking up our order, was offerd Ketchup and the employee proceeded to lay down the ketchup in the fry container ( instead of just placing it on my tray[had enough room; WEIRD*])....... Ultimately, the food was less than impressive, considering how EXPENSIVE the meal cost - AGAIN -PREMIUM COST FOR PREMIUM SERVICE....... CLEARLY THR MEMO WAS MISSED BY THE STAFF........WILL DEFINITELY NOT RETURN .......P.S...... MY BETTER HALF WOUND UP WITH AN UPSET STOMACH (SMH)

Brisket used to be constantly good, but was dry, overcooked on my last visit. Spare ribs are good. Burger is great. Chili (fries) is (are) good. Coleslaw is decent. Beans good. Mac n cheese good. Korean pork belly burnt ends were a little one-dimensional: mostly sugar. It would have been nice to have some fans on the outdoor patio, both for the temperature and for the flies.

Pair it all with the street corn salad & A Bad hombre beer. Its a smooth beer that goes great with any meal. Super packed on the weekends!!! Parking: Free street parking if your lucky

Moos Craft Barbecue is known as an LA institution before Dodger games but unfortunately forgets about the experience and customer. It is literally a conveyor belt that cannot be bothered with questions or suggestions because you are suppose to know what you want by the time you are in the front of the line. BBQ and craft beer culture has many layers and is complex; Moos Craft Barbecue does not have time for your questions and wants your card ASAP to charge more than it should. They do not take cash unless its for tips so it leaves a majority of the Lincoln Heights community out and not able to patronize. The food is good and so are the beers but you can get the same at other places in town.

We had a group of 8 people and we got 2 El Trios and 3 burgers. The hype is warranted; this place has some of the best BBQ in LA. My favorite was the brisket, but the pork ribs were also so tender and juicy. I also highly recommend the Mac n cheese and corn sides. You can only sit after you order, and they run out of things throughout the day, so I recommend getting there before 2 PM. Parking: Parking is behind the restaurant in a lot. Note that some spots have meters, some say 2 hour free parking, and some say 10 hour parking. There is also plentiful street parking.

**Disappointing Experience Not Kid Friendly and Possibly Discriminatory** We drove 2 hours to try this place, but it was not worth it. Upon arrival around 2 PM, we encountered a short line outside. Despite the summer heat, we waited patiently with our three kids. When we finally got to the door, we were relieved to be inside where it was air-conditioned. However, a staff member a lady with glasses abruptly asked us to wait outside again. Initially, we complied, assuming we might be in the way. To our dismay, we noticed that other white customers, who were also crowding the area, were not asked to leave. The situation felt more crowded than when we were inside. It seemed like we were being treated differently because of our race. Ruined our dining experience and just Made us feel uncomfortable. If you re a person of color, you might want to avoid this place. The food wasn t worth the drive or the uncomfortable experience. Save your time and money for somewhere more welcoming.

It was my first time trying brisket and pulled pork and I was kinda surprised at first but after a few bites I realized the food was just okay, a little pricey for what I was expecting to be honest. The only item I would recommend from what I ordered definitely would be the thick burger, I dont see myself going back to this place again, good food but I consider there are better options out there. Parking: Parking can be found behind the restaurant or theres also another parking lot next to the place :)

I stopped by Moos Craft Barbecue recently because of all the reviews, and boy, it lived up to my expectations. Their slow-smoked meats were top class, very well-seasoned, tender top-notch. I ordered their beef bone and a pound of pork belly both were truly good they tasted really lovely and full of that standard BBQ flavor, so there was no need for extra sauce. The atmosphere was lovely with a friendly vibe, although somewhat cramped. That, however, was more than made up for by the quality of the food. Moos Craft Barbecue is prideful in what they do since every single element of the meal shows dedication to a really good BBQ. If one is seeking flavor and quality, Moos Craft Barbecue tends to be that place. Ill be keying my eyes on revisiting and probably getting a little more from their menu.

This is certainly one of the top craft BBQ joints in Los Angeles. With a creative twist and incorporation of local flavors, tender cuts of slow-cooked BBQ are delicious and bursting with flavor. Their burger is a must-try for any burger fan. Passing the true BBQ test of a great brisket, any order will yield some real fatty greatness. House-made sausages are also a favorite item for many patrons. Side items are decent with a delightful flair, but can be polarizing for traditionalists. Items on their menu can be contentious depending on availability on any given day and hour. From the standpoint of a BBQ connoisseur, the smoke level of their meats is delicate. It could be a little too fragile for fans of bold and sharp smokey flavors.

PSA- read the lowest reviews for an honest take before going here. The food is mediocre but overpriced and definitely not worth the excessive wait. However, I feel compelled to warn others about was the audacious customer service. For example, yesterday I saw people a ways behind me in line go outside to grab a table on the patio before ordering, so I tried to do the same since most of the remaining tables were empty but reserved (which, in and of itself is telling, us peasants have to wait upwards of an hour and there is no mention of reservations on their site. The space is extremely tiny, maybe save the seats for people who waited in line in the heat for your uninspired meats?). As I turn around, an overly aggressive middle aged woman who worked there accosted me and angrily scolded me for trying to find a table. Hey Moos, if youre going to have a policy, selectively enforcing it will understandably cause confusion. More importantly, theres definitely no reason to get nasty. A simple, hey sorry, you have to order first! would have gotten the point across. Other reviewers have noted that management had the audacity to glare at customers as if we were an inconvenience which is completely spot on regarding the attitude of those working there. Moos treats you like you are a nuisance and somehow imposing on them by waiting for an hour just for the opportunity to overspend on their mid, forgettable foods. Bludsos doesnt have as much hype, but you can eat happily or pickup without dealing with cantankerous hags. Or, if youre really looking for something trendy, try Quarter Sheets. Long lines but not run by feral trolls.

Pretty good Texas barbecue. It wont be able to compete with Franklins, Killens, or Pinkertons, but it comes pretty close. They beat the first two when it comes to sides, though. The mac n cheese and esquites are legit. The brisket was so buttery and the pork ribs cooked just right (not fall off the bone like noobs like) but the burnt ends dont look nor taste like burnt ends. They seem like fatty pork belly. Theyre pretty tasty but a little too fatty. They also have a decent beer selection in the bar. The staff was more curt than courteous.

Every single thing I ate was absolutely delicious. The care and time they spend on preparing meats and sides really show. Brisket is meaty, tender, peppery and melts in your mouth. The sauage has a great snap to it and is just the right amount of spice and savory. Cole slaw is fresh and crunchy, but not too mayonaissy, which I loved. Nice selection of craft brews too. Everyone very nice as well. Parking tip: park either in small lot behind Moos or one block down at BofA lot. Show up 30 min to 45 min before open if u can, their food is so delish, they start to run out of stuff, especially the smoked burger. You gotta try it! Moos is hands down our favorite BBQ spot to go to. ( not because of tiktok or youtube or wherever youve seen them on) we like to travel and try bbq from everywhere so we have experience in GOOD BBQ and this Is BOMB BBQ Ive read the low star reviews and people complain about the wait. If you dont like to wait for over an hour, get there at 11:20-30 and wait 30-40min . Yes the tables have reserved signs on them but thats only because they dont want customers rushing in to save seats, they want you to order, AND THEN sit down, once you sit theyll remove the reserved sign And just like all BBQ places, the later you go , they might be sold out of certain items . Thats not their fault, you should have gotten there earlier . Ive compared their prices to Bludsos- Heritage and Rays BBQ, and Moos comes in 1st . For example, on just the Brisket 1 LB of Brisket @ Rays BBQ $37.99 @Bludsos $39.00 @Heritage $36.00 Moos $34.00 Our Favorite besides their Brisket, is the Sloppy Moo Sandwich. And if they have it, I definitely recommend their BEEF RIB . Well be back Very soon Oh, and people talk about the parking, theres a free 2hr parking lot behind the restaurant and the WSS . So get their early, park for free, dont wait too long in line, and enjoy great BBQ

I really enjoyed ordering from here when I ordered with my coworkers, but I think they need to work on their customer service. They cannot keep up with demand and because they cannot keep up with demand. They are providing very bad customer service. I had tried to order a weekend advance and they told me that my order was placed the week after which makes no sense and they provided no receipt of such incident yet they charge my credit card. I admit that brisket food is really good, ordering from this place is a nightmare and I don t think I m the only one who has experienced it. I took my business elsewhere. Maybe I ll be back when they can keep up with demand and keep track of orders rather than gaslight their customers and fail to provide a receipt but still charge them. Located in the outskirts of Chinatown, the Lincoln heights neighborhood. It s been long awaited and I finally tried the place. I ordered the beef brisket, beans, Mac n cheese, and thicc burger. The beef brisket was immaculate and loved the pickled sides that came with it. Mac n cheese and beans were good, however, it would have been out of this world if they came out as a hot side. They were a little more on the lukewarm side. They had a special with the thicc burger. $16 originally but was going out for $10, so I had to try it. It was good. A thicc beef patty in a brioche type bun. Solid burger for sure. I m definitely coming back to try their pulled pork and sausages. Maybe try a cold side like red potato salad and slaw. Their beer options were also great. Super cool, friendly staff.

My heart was broken when, in line at 440 for 30 minutes outside, we were told they were out of brisket. However, that same aspect makes me appreciate a bbq business even more. We were able to purchase pork ribs, turkey, coleslaw and while ordering, we were informed they had one last serving of mac and cheese and red potato salad. The food...perhaps thee best ribs I have had in California! Cooked perfectly...tender enough to easily eat every bit of meat but not so overcooked that the meat fell off the bone. I appreciate that they lightly season meat and serve it dry (without sauce). The turkey was also perfectly cooked, lightly seasoned and fork tender. The mac and cheese was good and creamy but not cheese tasting enough for me. The red potato salad was yummy. It definitely had dill and pickle juice drawing references to a cold German potato salad. The coleslaw was good with plenty of pepper and onions with some cilantro tossed in. Dont sleep on the taproom. The Old Rasputin stout was tasty and buttery. Others said they really like their micheladas. The prices are reasonable. The place is very clean. The parking sucks. I guess that one thing needs to be less than great. But there is a small lot behind the building. We will be back at 11:00 some day to get brisket.

This place is LEGIT! It feels cringey to say, but my husband and I are kinda BBQ aficionados. Weve spent some time in Austin over the years sampling much of the best Texas fare available, and weve spent TOO much time watching videos on YouTube and BBQ competition shows. The first thing we did when we bought our new home BEFORE we furnished the place is buy a smoker. Moos BBQ is THE best BBQ weve eaten outside Texas. Their brisket was on point (pun intended...), ribs were outta this world, and their house-sausages were tasty AF. The sides were fantastic as well. The atmosphere was lively, and waiting in line (for 40 minutes at 2pm in the afternoon) was WORTH IT. Service was warm, welcoming, and helpful. One suggestion: Would be good for staff at the register to be more familiar with the ingredients used in their food. I, and many others, have dietary restrictions and allergies, and it was a little bit of a challenge for me to get the information I needed to order in a healthy way. Other than that small-ish thing, this place is THE place for a great Texas BBQ experience in L.A.!

But we ordered the ribs brisket sausage & burnt ends. The ribs & brisket looked promising but had no flavor. The burnt ends werent burnt at all the fat was uncooked I barely ate one. The sausage was cool. Didnt try any sides since the ones I wanted were gone. The ambience is cool the beer is cold but other than that I wont be going back.

Be prepared to spend some extra cash for a lunch outing. The line is long so if you don t like to wait come on one of the weekdays that they are open. The food is good extra rich so beware if you re the sensitive stomach or heartburn type. So try the key lime pie or the banana pudding because they will run out and it s delicious! Overall, definitely save this place in your want to goes

I have been trying to order from this place for about 3 to 4 months when my coworker said that the barbecue was pretty good. Every time I would try to order it would say sold out, so on Thursday morning at 3:48 AM. I placed my order and it was successful. I spent about $79 and some cents, and I did not like the food at all. I ordered a pound of brisket, a pound of pork ribs and barbecue beans with brisket. The food came in a to go tray enough for only one person. Unfortunately, I did not take any photos but I can say the meat was very, very tender. The smoke on it was amazing but it had no seasoning and no flavor.. I think Lucille s barbecue has better flavor, but moves barbecue smoke flavor was very good and the meat was very tender and that s all I can say I will not be returning there, but the inside of the restaurant was a very nice positive friendly atmosphere just not for me.

Not Worth the Wait Don t Believe the Hype! After a truly dismal experience at MOO s Craft Barbecue in Los Angeles, I feel compelled to warn others: do not believe the hype. I spent an egregious 2 and a half hours waiting in a line that was manipulatively extended by reserved signs on tables, creating the illusion of overwhelming demand. This tactic felt disingenuous at best, and downright deceitful at worst. The ordering process was a grueling 10-minute ordeal with staff that seemed anything but competent. My excitement quickly turned to discomfort as my stomach started to protest almost immediately after eating. The loud, rude announcements from staff members added to the chaotic and unwelcoming atmosphere, leaving a sour taste that the barbecue couldn t wash away. Speaking of the barbecue, as someone who has visited several BBQ joints in LA, I can assert that the flavor here was, at best, mediocre. It didn t stand out from any other average barbecue place I ve been to it was simply mid-tier. Now let s talk about the tipping culture that s running rampant. After the lackluster service, the expectation of a tip felt like a slap in the face. Tipping is meant for rewarding exceptional service, not for when it s conspicuously absent. And yet, the management or some overseeing figure had the audacity to glare at customers as if we were an inconvenience, all while expecting extra compensation. The audacity of this establishment doesn t end there. The menu we waited to access was a farce, with most options sold out by the time it was our turn to order. The limited choices left us feeling cheated and the announcement of last call was not only tactless but also offensive. I had initially considered bringing friends from out of town to MOO s to experience American barbecue, but now I shudder at the thought. This place would have marred their impression of American culinary culture. I regret giving in to the sunk cost fallacy and ordering after such a wait it wasn t worth it. This establishment s blatant disregard for customer experience and the preposterous tip expectation after self-service is astounding. I had to clean my own table, fetch my own water, and gather my own utensils. What, exactly, is the tip for? We, as customers, need to stop fueling the hype of such establishments. It s time we patronize venues that truly value their customers, offering both excellent food and service. Let s give those hard-working, passionate places the recognition they deserve. To MOO s Craft Barbecue, I say: you ve lost a customer, and I urge others to steer clear. There are far better places in LA that respect their patrons and serve up quality food with genuine hospitality. Don t waste your time here.

My husband is a foodie and anytime YouTube mentions a restaurant we of course have to try it. So today we went to Moos and of course the line parking and the wait to get our food was a little frustrating the music was cool and despite the long line of people watching us eat the atmosphere was ok. As someone else mentioned the food was a little salty and not as hot temperature wise as I would prefer. They were sold out on a lot of items and they should by now have that figured out no desert wow. Maybe they just don t care at this point that people are coming from everywhere to try their food only to be disappointed in having to settle for what s left maybe they should put the sold out items on a board outside so that customers are not surprised when the get to the register. We had the brisket ribs garlic sausage the thicc burger Mac and cheese corn and potato salad. I would recommend the Mac and cheese and sausage everything else was prepared and smoked properly the meat melted in your mouth however it did not have flavor unless we added sauce that was not labeled so I couldn t tell you the names on the sauce bottles. I would not recommend this place unless you are board and have a lot of time to waste but the vibe is cool people are friendly and they do have a bar so if you drink they cater to you if you don t drink they just hand out Luke warm sodas.

The BBQ here isn t bad it just doesn t live up to the hype. And by hype I mean this place is consistently listed in many top spots in LA lists so I had high expectations. Felt like the brisket was a little dry and the ribs weren t falling off the bone. And their famous burger that also gets a lot of attention l was literally just bbq meat inside a bun. Solid but nothing revolutionary. Their sauces were fantastic though but not enough to offset the shortcomings of the meats. Banana pudding was ok. I would give it another shot though bc service and vibes are fantastic and I do support their story so I really wanted to like it

So I love BBQ, I love it when it slowly smoked, has a great dry rub and just falls off the bone. So with that, moo has 2 out 3. Unfortunately it tastes like it only has salt and pepper and u need the sauce to add that BBQ taste to it. Ive had the ribs before and thought they were great, this time I went with the burgers, and thought they were ok. I mean they tasted great but , its hard to justify nearly 20$ for a burger satisfaction. Of course mileage will vary, overall Ill give u bad, theres only one register, limited seating, limited parking. Depending the time u get there, it could have a really long line. Maybe lasting 30min plus. But everything else is on point and your food preference will vary. Parking: Theres limited parking in back, then its finding parking in neighborhood, or get paid parking off major street

As a native son of the United States of Texas, I confess to having high expectations for BBQ. We sampled brisket, pork ribs, sausage, potato salad, corn, and beans. Most everything was delicious! The beans were not the best Ive had (I prefer pinto beans), but that is my worst complaint. The sausage had unexpected and pleasant flavors (dark, earthy). The brisket was amazing! Practically buttery-creamy smooth, and delicious. The red potato salad didnt last long, and the table favorite side was the corn. Well worth the drive out.

The Mac and cheese was extremely salty and the esquites was bland. The key lime was ok, hardly tasted the lime and more of the cream on top. Would not recommend this joint, overly hyped.

Finally ate at Moo s. The craft is in the name because there is a bar in the establishment. The sausages were the highlight. Spectacular. As good as I ve heard. We had the brisket, which was good but not the best Texas bbq brisket we have tried. You look around and you will mostly see the accolades given to them from LA Times, who have proven not to be the best judge of food. That is to say, in conclusion, Moo s craft is a good Texas BBQ spot here but not the best in LA. The dining area had a mosquito issue. You may be prone to getting some bites after dining in. We didn t see any soda on the menu, and not sure if it was available at the bar. Good one time experience, but you can do better in LA, like going to Bludsos

Came on a Friday, early evening, not too crowded, perfect time to come by. We ordered the brisket, the Poblano Oaxaca sausge, brisket loaded beans, mac and cheese, and fries. You get this on a tray to share, good portions and they add pickles and pickled jalapenos. All the food is pretty good. The brisket is so soft and tender, the beans are very delicious, they are topped with cotija cheese and green onions jalapenos too. The sausage had a cheese filling and reminded of mexican breakfast chorizos. I loved the pickles so much, I asked for a 2nd serving. Overall good experience! Parking: Parking on a city lot in the back of the WSS and resturant. Some spaces offer 2 hours free or 10 hours free. Some have meters.

Ive been here twice, and the food is amazing. True Texas Style BBQ. The brisket is so tender, juicy and tasty. The pork ribs are also tender and very tasty. I went back a week later for the beef ribs, which did not disappoint. The price is a little bit above average for Texas Style BBQ, but its worth it. Sausage is savory, but the skin is a little tough. The regular BBQ sauce is delicious, but you really dont need it. The mustard BBQ sauce is ok. You definitely have to try the banana pudding. The pudding is light and creamy, not overly sweet and they use Graham crackers instead of vanilla wafers which makes it unique and so much better than regular banana pudding.

The food is great, the service ok, can improve and the place is ok, maybe if they cut the bar in half than more tables can fit in the restaurant and get rid off the reserve tables and just seat people that are already there. I wanted beef ribs but, 1 cost $45 dollars, forget it. I also didnt like the fact that soda drinks came in cans and not from a fountain machine, for the price we paid for the food maybe, they should include the soda can with the meal. The bbq sauces on the table were too spicy, meaning that there too much black pepper in them, maybe, they should offer different types of bbq sauces. The two things I loved was the Korean bbq pork bellys and the sausages those were awesome I just wish the order of pork bellys had more pieces than just 6 and the sausages were less than $8.00 each. Finally, if you are very busy please, open both registers it took 1 hour just to get to counter and another hour to get the food, ridiculous but, I heard it wad great so, we stay anyways. Next time if I decide to return I will go after 4, there was no line but, the prices will need to come down, ahh and one more thing, no parking available I had to pay twice at the public parking lot otherwise, I would had to pay a fine on that.
