Solid brunch spot in Los Feliz - spacious, very nature and earthy vibes. Servers were quick and attentive even on a busy Sunday morning. The scramble breakfast plate was hearty - i chose bacon & spinach + goat cheese! Came with side of potatoes and bread of choice: Bub and Grandmas country bread!!

Really good place for breakfast, nice outdoor seating and atmosphere. We ordered french toast and shakshuka. The french toast was our best in town. Now for shakshuka, the mix and herbs were tasty but it had a lot of tomato water, I highly suggest they make the sauce much thicker to blend with the poach egg.

I appreciate how carefully packaged my pick up order was. My food was actually hot and online ordering plus curbside pick up was easy. However, I m upset at how bland my breakfast burrito was. I had high hopes especially with how great it looked. The only thing I could taste was how salty the bacon was. I subbed the potatoes for fries and unfortunately those were too greasy to eat as well.

Pity we only went to Alcove the last night of our Californian trip, we wish we had discovered it sooner! Warm welcome, cozy atmosphere on the terrace (with heaters in the evening), great (non-alcoholic) cocktails, tasty food (try the burgers!!) and yummy desserts (thank you Devin for your recommendation on the pumpkin pie)! By far the best restaurant we went to during our road trip through California, would de-fi-ni-te-ly go back. Sullivan from Belgium (visited September 26).

Alcove Cafe & Bakery is a true gem in Los Angeles. I loved it so much that I visited twice within four days! The restaurant is set up in a charming old house that they ve converted into a cozy and inviting space. The patio is lovely, the staff is friendly, and the service is unbelievably quick. On my first visit, I tried the Omelette plate with a mushroom and chicken sausage omelette served with potatoes. It was simple yet perfectly executed. We also had the Veggie Burrito, which was superb. It had a great combination of eggs, veggies, and beans, served with pico de gallo and sour cream delicious and satisfying. On my second visit, I had the Jerk Chicken Bowl, and it was amazing. The mildly spicy jerk chicken paired with caramelized banana, mango salsa, and coconut rice created an explosion of flavors. Every bite was a delight. We also tried the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, which were subtle and balanced, with the pecan butter taking the dish to the next level. Overall, Alcove Cafe & Bakery serves an incredible brunch with everything feeling homemade, organic, and fresh. You can tell they use locally sourced ingredients. They offer valet parking, but it s easy to find metered street parking nearby. Highly recommended!

My niece picked this place to have dinner. They don t have a huge menu, but there s something for everyone. I enjoyed the appetizers more than the entrees. Both the fish and chicken were too breaded for my liking. The sauce they served with the chicken was very good though. The cornbread pairing with the turkey chili was good. I didn t get to try their cocktails since I had to go to work after, but the choices were numerous. I would ve like to try their desserts too, but we were already full. Not much seating inside if you exclude the bar section. The outdoor seating was very pleasant. No dedicated parking, but they did have a valet available right in front. There s metered parking on the street or you can park for free around the block in the residential area.

Came here Monday 09-02 for some brunch, and it did NOT disappoint. We had the regular country breakfast, the eggs cooked to perfection, pancakes and butter were delicious, but the star of the show was a sandwich I added on because it caught my eye, the Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich. The biscuit was sooo fluffy and not dry, the sausage was amazing, the eggs were so soft and folded perfectly, and the jam added such an amazing flavor profile. If you come, get that sandwich!!!!!

I recently had a wonderful lunch at Alcove on Hillhurst in Los Angeles, and it was truly a memorable experience. This place has been a staple in the neighborhood for years, and everything here is made with an authentic touch that you can taste in every bite. For the first time, I tried their short rib Benedict, and it was absolutely delicious. The little potatoes that came with the dish were insanely good, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I also ordered a decaf latte and treated myself to a flourless chocolate cake, which was simply amazing rich, moist, and decadent. The patio at Alcove is incredibly relaxing, a peaceful oasis that makes you forget you re in the heart of Los Angeles. The staff is exceptionally nice, adding to the overall calm and welcoming vibe of the place. It s one of those spots where you can truly take your time, sit back, and enjoy the moment. The ambiance perfectly complements the laid-back, charming vibe of the Los Feliz neighborhood. Parking is a breeze, with plenty of spaces available just a couple of blocks away, making it easy to take a leisurely walk through the area and admire the beautiful houses nearby. But let s talk about the pastries they are out of this world. Alcove offers some of the most incredible cakes, and their cinnamon rolls are among the best I ve ever seen. Alcove holds a special place in my heart as one of the first places I visited when I moved to L.A. 12 years ago, and I ve loved it ever since. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great spot in the city. I just hope it doesn t get overwhelmed with a new wave of hype that brings in long lines like some of the nearby coffee shops this gem deserves to be enjoyed without the crazy crowds.

A wonderful dog friendly place that offers outside seating and a water bowl for your pup! We ordered a bar burger that was juicy, and made with fresh ingredients. We were given three side options: a salad, sweet potato fries or French fries at no extra cost! We each chose all three options. French fries were crispy and seasoned so deliciously. They were not overly salted at all! Salad had cucumbers, diced tomatoes, spring mix and a yummy vinaigrette. Sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing with ranch! Fried chicken burger was crispy, and the seasoning was fantastic! It almost reminded me of a karaage style of fried chicken! They added coleslaw in the burger that made every bite juicy! Food that we ordered: Cheeseburger w/ fries, Fried Chicken burger w/ sweet potato fries, cheeseburger w/ a side salad, chocolate bread pudding, a cafe latte, Italian soda, and a bonanza smoothie made with apple juice. We paid $129 w/ tip included. A little bit on the pricy side but worth it. Staff were friendly, kind, and attentive. Parking is either street parking or valet for $10 if youre feeling fancy.

Alcove is in a really nice spot, with great service, loads of outdoor seating and an all day menu. Sadly, the food is very average and stuck in 1993, with basically nothing for vegan or plant based customers and some hilarious pricing - $14 for hummus from a tub! Essentially it s a diner menu at 2-3x diner prices. It s such a nice spot that I do go from time to time but the menu really needs an update.

I came to this place for the first time in years and things seemed just fine and the service and food was mostly good, (great coffee) until the weird (Hipster looking) employee came up to me as I was sitting at the table finishing my coffee with my 9 pound tiny chihuahua on my lap. The snarky hipster gave me a creepy fake smile and said hello, how are you? Everything ok? Oh, and youre going to have to take your pup off your lap and it on the ground. Sorry. Ummmmmmm, in all my many years of being out with my little, chihuahua, never, ever has anyone ever said this to me. I told my friends, and they were also blown away by this. Its like this dude, just wanted to be rude and mess with me. For what possible reason would he feel he needs to tell me to put my tiny little dog on the ground????? Mind you, this is a VERY dog friendly place and 98% all out door patio seating. Dogs everywhere. Just one of those (eweeehh, yucky, snarky unnecessary behavior moments from some NE LA hipster) moments, that I just cant stomach anymore. Every non hipster person working at this place, was just pleasant and fine. Saddly, I wont be going back again.. Too grossed out.

Its special location with big trees and good shade cover makes it especially welcoming. Parking: There is very little street parking but the valet service is good. A little expensive at $10 but worth it.

Came to Alcove for a business meeting over coffee. I ve been here several times before, and I love this place! The outdoor seating is plentiful and man this place has great atmosphere. The service is friendly and fast. The drinks are served up quick and delicious. The bathroom was immaculate and private. Order any of the desserts with confidence. They re amazing!

Absolute best lunch spot in LA and super covid safe with tons of outdoor seating.

Overpriced. Eggs undercooked and food made me feel ill. The coffee is gross too. They dont have menus. You have to read a tiny jpeg on your phone from a QR code, and you have to wait in line for the pelasure of ordering. The only thing people come here for is the relatively nice outdoor seating options.

A great surprise!! We stopped here somewhat randomly. An arty neighborhood, with candy and card shops. A spritz and 2 gin and tonics later, with friendly service, we left satisfied. Kiss

Solid service (super friendly and patient person who took our order) the atmosphere is casual and varied (out and indoor seating) the food was good (has a nice punch to it with its middle east influence. The coffee major disappointment. Price average Oh and the bread pudding was a disappointment even though I was so attracted when I saw on the display. The brioche to start just wasnt good. It ended up being a hard muffin? At $10+ a rip

Casual dining with top-notch dishes and a full bar. We had the burger and buffalo chicken wrap, both excellent, accompanied by perfect cocktails. Chocolate chip cookie for dessert was scrumptious. Seating inside is tight but cozy, with some weird murals; plenty of seating outside under heat lamps.

Food is fine, overpriced for the quality but the ambience is excellent. Super cute brunch spot. My go-to is the cobb salad.

Was in from out of town and a friend brought us here. The smoked salmon breakfast stack is one of the greatest things I have ever eaten in my life. I now just randomly think about it. Which is why I am leaving this review. I cannot wait to come back.

Grade B (82): Atmosphere is great, service was good, food was fairly average, but the Bloody Mary was not good, it was also too spicy.

Still got it. The service makes it seem like no one wants to be there. I blame that less on the servers and more on management. But still a solid brunch spot in Silverlake.

This used to be my favorite breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot in LA. But for the past 4 years, the food has simply not been the same. I typically order the same few items because I keep hoping it will turn out as amazing as it used to. That hope is always shattered at the first bite of my Lemon Ricotta pancakes and then the lacking breakfast potatoes. I miss the Blueberry, Lemon, and Ricotta pancakes and rosemary potatoes that used to be on the menu. And the Salmon omelette used to be oh so amazing. I ve not yet given up. Hopefully my next experience will be as amazing as it used to be. I want to be excited about this place again.

Found this place by accident. We wanted to go to a nice and good place for Our anniversary. This place is spot on! Love the idea of ordering then being sat down. Makes it go so much faster. The ambient is nice and relaxing. So much greenery. It s a lot bigger than it looks so there s definitely space. The food was delicious! Ordered the Country Breakfast and my husband ordered the carnitas omelette. We took some pastries to go but I m sure those are great too! All in a great experience and definitely recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Alcove Cafe and Bakery, and let me tell you, it was an absolute five-star experience from start to finish. To begin my morning, I ordered the Lemon Dream Montresso to drink, and it was nothing short of a dream come true a harmonious blend of flavors that truly brightened my day. For breakfast, I had the Country Breakfast, which was a delightful surprise. This mouthwatering dish featured two Lemon Ricotta Pancakes drizzled with pecan syrup, and every bite was a burst of flavor. It left my taste buds dancing with joy and my tummy completely satisfied. Dining on the open patio was an added treat. The ambiance was simply delightful and perfectly complemented the delicious drink and food. But what really captivated me was the aroma of freshly baked goods that filled the air its like stepping into a bakery wonderland. In summary, I cant recommend the Alcove Cafe and Bakery enough. Whether youre in search of a delectable breakfast, a refreshing drink, or a charming spot to relax, this place has it all. Im already looking forward to my next visit!

Total scene. Food is great. They were lovely about accommodating kids. Everyone there was pretty chill despite a bit of a line to order. Bread pudding is great. I love that their house chili is turkey instead of beef.

This place is absolutely phenomenal. The bakery is phenomenal, bar is classy, and food is killer overall. My favorite part is the secluded patio with so many corners to have a peaceful chat with a friend. Dog friendly! And breakfast options until 5? Are you kidding? Spent way too much, but will be visiting this place on a regular basis . Kid-friendliness: Kid and pup friendly

Our party of 4 visited Alcove for brunch on a Sunday around noon. They were busy that and were fairly full. 1 thing annoyed us was one of their staff (likely out of restaurant or manager policy, kindly asked the group seated beside us to chill in another sitting area as they were busy and the group had finished their meal). Restaurant setup was: 1) you walk in, 2) host lets you know you line up and order at counter, get a #, then go back to the host, so they can get you a table, and 3) they bring you the food, 4) they bring you the check at the end as usual. These hybrid style restaurants is sometimes confusing in my opinion. I am unsure how to tip them, since they provided half the service. We still selected the 18% tip on the check at the end. Food was pretty typical brunch food. We had egg benedicts, omelette and a salad. Not something that we will come back for a 2nd time. 3 of us ordered items with potatoes or fries and they all came out on the salty side. We did not have a specific server and just flagged down people for ketchup once. The lady whom we tried flagging down appeared to have seen us and kind of acknowledged us (hard to tell with a mask on and lack of expressions or voice). Took about 5 minutes for it to come. Service was okay, food was served timely. No check back on water refills, etc. Maybe they were busy, because the place was packed. Patio space was well shaded and decor was cozy. There were only 2 restrooms, 1 person per room, (1 seemed to be male and another female) for what appears close to 100 seating capacity? Average food, crowded space (they fitted as many tables as possible in the patio space), low restroom to patron ratio, hybrid service, basic average service.
