Coffee and Breakfast Burritos and Pastries and Baseball
This place used to be a go-to but quality and consistency have gone WAY down hill. Last 3 times Iβve been my burritos havenβt been cooked or heated evenly. The assembly is all over the place so you never get a bite of more than one ingredient at a time. And the cheese isnβt melted π (#1 breakfast burrito rule!!) despite asking for it grilled well. Never used to be like this. Officially saying goodbye to a former favorite π₯²π

If your a Sydney Koufax fan or not this Cafe pays homage to the Dodger greats like Tommy Lasorda, Vince Scully, and the many star players of LA fame. This was my first time and its hit spot with 20-30 females, and a great place for dog owners to bring their dogs inside to rest from the Fairfax Ave streets. I had the Hibiscus Tea with the Veggie Breakfast burrito that was cheesy delicious it just needs slightly hotter salsa or a chulula. My wife and her girlfriend had the bacon breakfast with a very sweet vanilla latte to wash it down. I'd definitely go here again if I was visiting Fairfax village. Love the LA vibe.

Maybe it's just the hype about this place but we were sorely disappointed. The pastrami breakfast burrito was lacking , the cashier couldn't figure out how to sell a side of pastrami and was just unhelpful in general... With so many options, why here? Bacon breakfast sandwich was decent. Salsa options were ok.

I donβt even know how a place could pretty much mess up every part of an order, but they did. I ordered two burritos, and for one of them they gave me a veggie burrito instead of the chorizo that I ordered. Iβve tried the other location in Culver City so I know how the burrito recipes should taste. These couldnβt even be considered the same products. It was very heavy on the cheese, all clumped in one spot, the egg was overcooked, and the tortilla was burnt to the point that i was mostly eating crumbled bread. The order came in a bag with spilled salsa, so that was that. Iβve tried other well-known burrito spots around this price point, and this was just absolutely not worth it. The store was also pretty dirty. If youβre looking to try cofax, just go to the one in Culver City.

The last of my recent birthday cravings was a good breakfast burrito. Cofax has good buzz for theirs so I found my way over for a brunch meal.
The chorizo burrito was tasty, fresh, and full of flavor. The two salsas gave the taste an extra punch. They definitely offer a great breakfast burrito.

Tried this place out this morning for the first time, the two people working up front were so kind, helpful, and despite a busy line of customers, continued to deliver amazing service and a great attitude. The breakfast burrito was awesome and so was the coffee. Great way to start the day, will def be back.

3rd time walked in with door open and told they are closed. I just wanted coffee but they refused even though there was a lady walking out with coffee as I entered and a guy eating in the restaurant. This location only serves certain people. Btw, it s 1:45pm on a Thursday.

I love this coffee shop. I live close by and love popping in for a latte and a donut. There food is very good as well. However it s unfortunate that I have to not stop in when the barista with the glasses and reddish beard is working because he seems to forget my order every time I come in there. Today i waited for almost 20 minutes to get one small latte and watch about four people who ordered after me get and finish their drinks before I was served. I understand it gets busy, but when I tried to ask this man he literally ignored me. I asked another girl and she looked at my ticket and realized it was never made. Waited an additionally shockingly long time for this man to slowly make my drink. I love your food and coffee so I will still keep coming here, but I am not sure why this guy hates me so much lol

Disgusting breakfast burritos that gave us food poisoning and salsa that tasted like water that came from a rusty pipe. Avoid!

Good stuff, bacon breakfast burrito was a bit dry, but came with a good green sauce. Good prices tho.

The barista forgot to make my coffee. I got my burrito before I got my coffee which is bad expediting. I had to ask for my coffee a second time. The employees were frazzled despite it being slow. There were two baristas with maybe 5 people in the restaurant. all guests appeared to have been served. Also the very mild salsa verde smells of burnt Teflon. And the tables and benches were covered in crumbs. I came in because I saw Bludso BBQ on the menu and wanted to support the collab. This was not the professional experience that Kevin Bludso would expect in his own restaurant, and hed throw Cofax on the cafe equivalent of Bar Rescue in a heartbeat.

This would be a 5-star crispy breakfast sandwich. I expect certain flavor from a burrito. The pico and guacamole can add additional flavor but spices like cumin, chili powder, bay leaf and zest are assumed. Today was an exceptionally busy day, which I get. I placed my order online and watched the walk-ins served in 25 minutes after their order while I waited curbside 56 minutes after arriving (I arrived 25 minutes after placing the order).

Its okay! Im trying all the famous breakfast burritos around Park La Brea and this one was on the list. As you can imagine, its a very white breakfast burrito, no Mexican flavor. No salsas inside, no onions. Its indeed pretty dry and crispy (had it with bacon) and salty. If you like crispy, fried-forward breakfast burritos with tater tots, this will be your jam. Its a decent basic burrito but the flavor palette is very limited. All that for $14.00 + tax (no drink) makes it a little underwhelming. Three stars means I dont regret going but probably wont go back.

This used to be the go to breakfast burrito place, the kind of comfort food that you want to order after a night out and youre struggling in the morning. I feel like over the years the quality has slowly dropped, and its not what it used to be. I went recently, and ordered myself a chorizo burrito that was extremely poorly wrapped with awful ratio: -I paid an extra two dollars for avocado that was only on one side of the burrito. - there was way too much cheese that was also only on one side of the burrito - barely any chorizo that wasnt even broken up enough, they were large chunks again only on one side of the burrito The coffee is still pretty good, but all in all not a place that I dream about anymore. I will only go and I have no other options or feeling nostalgic. My nostalgia is probably why I gave it three instead of two stars

Quality of this place has gone down so much over the years. From the customer service to the burritos to the cost. Im sorry youre nothing special and charging that much for a tiny breakfast burrito. Youre not a a sit down restaurant, nor do they even charge that much at a fancy Mexican restaurant. Yeah they are tasty so Ill give you 2 stars, but youre just taking advantage of your customers now. No thanks. Plenty of great places out there with breakfast burritos, better service, and prices. Dont blame it on inflation cause thats every business excuse to jack up the prices absurdly.

So sad they took away the Veggie Breakfast Burrito. Now they only serve the Future Farms burrito for vegetarians, which is not horrible but too excessive when you just want to get a reliably tasty breakfast burrito that won t make your stomach churn before noon. Tip: avoid ordering your drink in person if you are lactose intolerant. They take your order from the food prep counter in the back, not at the register most of the time, and I don t see how it s possible to listen clearly with all that noise. They put dairy in my drink every single time unless I order online. Sigh.

Very slow and lazy staff. 5 minutes to make a small cup of latte.. If people dont want to work just stay home and give away for people to want to work.
Published at 2 years ago
Terrible service, they still have the inside closed which is annoying but whatever. The problem is that they take your order from the cash register inside even though you re on the sidewalk, so you either can t hear the cashier or they ll yelling at you. Of course it gets worse, 5-6 burritos came out for people that ordered after me and then they yelled at me to wait when I asked what was going after 20 minutes. Finally after more than 40 minutes they brought out a measly burrito that couldn t have taken more than 2 minutes to heat up. Potatoes were terrible, bland and wayyyyyy over cooked. If you like TexMex, maybe you ll like the chorizo here, but it tasted more like a carolina bbq burrito than it did Mexican-inspired. Wish I could take my tip back, bad service, bad food, unfriendly staff

Ordered the impossible burrito for delivery. It was pretty darn delicious. My two critiques are (1) they actually got my order wrong and included serranos when I asked for them on the side (it was an option to remove them entirely so it seemed like this would be possible) - still delicious, but a bit disappointing; (2) that potato they put in there was amazing but it was only in like, two bites. Need to put more of the potato in there or distribute it better!

My go to order is the veggie burrito, add avo. But they re all solid and the salsas work well with the ultra rich tortillas. Became a staple during quarantine because it s close to work and we had set schedules. Their app is the way to go for ordering and the morning crew always provided excellent service. The work team still misses those Saturday morning burrito runs.

Im not from LA but was in town for the weekend. Before I even got to LA my buddy said he had a must try breakfast spot for breakfast burritos. Im not much of a breakfast burrito guy but I reluctantly agreed to give Cofax a shot. Albeit a small sample size, the Chorizo breakfast burrito was head and shoulders better than any breakfast burrito Ive ever had. It goes toe to toe with any burrito of any kind Ive had. Loved how simple the burrito was. It wasnt jam packed with too many ingredients, but everything in the burrito was absolutely necessary. Both dipping sauces were excellent. And the burrito being pressed provided a crust and a crunch that elevated the rito to another level. Cofax is a fun play on words too with it being a Dodgers themed (Sandy Koufax) burritos and coffee shop. Outstanding. I cannot recommend Cofax enough.

I m baffled at how this place has such high ratings. First, I almost had to check the pulse for the girl working the counter. My boyfriend and I walked in and cheerily said hello. No response. We ordered two burritos. My boyfriend snagged the Chorizo. He said it was overall pretty tasty. I ordered the bacon/egg burrito... can t remember the name but the ingredients were ice cold and the hash browns were hard as if they had been cooked and sat under a heat lamp. My burrito was under filled. The Chorizo burrito seemed to be the star of the show but overall I was blown away by the lack of customer service (she also didn t say anything to us as we left) and the quality of the food. Maybe it was an off day but in a city like LA where there are so many great food options I would not return here. Hopefully others have a better experience than we did.

Breakfast burritos are fantastic I love the veggie burrito with avocado, partner loves the bacon no avo. A little pricey, but on par for the area. They have a small selection of baked goods as well. Service is always pleasant and the orders come out quickly. Only negative is TERRIBLE parking in the area, especially on the weekends due to the shopping (Supreme, GOLF, Rip n Dip, etc). Only street parking but good luck finding a meter. The lots are a total rip off and navigating the surrounding neighborhoods for parking is a nightmare due to the necessarily packed streets (very few of the buildings come with included parking) and narrow streets. We typically park along Beverly and just walk down.

Small spot in this quirky part of LA but I will go back often as the coffee and staff were amazing. It is a little hole in the wall kind of place but the cappuccino and artisanal donuts are to die for.

Really enjoyed Cofax while visiting LA. Their space is very small but very enjoyable to sit by the windows. The breakfast burritos are so good and the doughnuts are delicious because theyre the cakey heavy ones. The coffee was amazing as well. Highly recommend for a quick bite here before heading to all the LA fun activities. Cant wait to go back and have more burritos and doughnuts.

Dodger friendly place with a homonym named for the Dodger great, Sandy Koufax. This breakfast spot is on Fairfax and so I guess they named it CoFax after the street and the pitcher. Lots of Dodger bobbleheads and homemade art of Dodgers decorate the joint. Best breakfast burritos and hot sauce. They have the usual staples of bacon, chorizo and ham but a great addition is Pastrami. Hot damn its good. Coffee is nice and smooth. None of that sour brightness you get at Blue Bottle.

Their chorizo burrito is the best around. Theres something special about the smokey potatoes and the salsa. I go there for the burritos and the donuts. I forgot the name but the donut with cornflakes was awesome.

The breakfast burrito is smaller than most, but its absolutely delicious. I am both happy and sad that I could easily eat another: it was small enough that Im not full, but delicious enough that I could eat another.
