Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! We did eat outside around the corner, servers would come in a timing Ku manner not to soon or too late. We had our toddler, the server brought out magnetic toys for him to play with while we waited. Very nice servers!

Nov 2021: The best pancakes ever!

Update Feb 2023: still the best pancakes ever! I was dreaming to have them again and finally I did and it was just as good as I remember! Also had an omelet - delicious! Great coffee, lovely atmosphere, kind servers. I think I have to come here again!

We come to Food every Sunday mainly for the scones - the best you ll ever have. We sometimes go for brunch and every time the food is outstanding. The ingredients are handpicked and super fresh you can taste each one of them. This place is sacred for our family. We love the staff and the owner. We will keep coming back!

FOOD is my home away from home when Im in LA. Its like a caffeinated Cheers. Judy and the staff always remember me when I return and always serve up the most delicious and welcoming spot for me to enjoy my coffee and my book in the morning. I recently visited Cafe for dinner and I must say that it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, and the price was very reasonable. I especially enjoyed the wide selection of desserts and drinks that were available. I will definitely be returning to Cafe for future meals. Highly recommended!

Talk about no customer service and no employee etiquette. I grew up in this neighborhood and it s a disgrace that this establishment run by someone who doesn t value customers allows their employees to wipe the floor with their clients. Who would ever go here after having bad experiences here every single time. I at first thought it was just family being ridiculous or staff having a bad day. But MY was I wrong. It s clear that this place won t be around very long I pray for them to hire and train especially the host dude who thinks he runs a Michelin star restaurant. You run a cafe don t take out your anger on people. Have some empathy and take care of your customers otherwise your customers won t take care of you. Done.

During my recent pick up order at the restaurant, I encountered an issue with a server who was an older white woman. As I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order, I searched for the designated pick up area like I normally do in other restaurants. However, when the server noticed me, she approached me and in a pretentious tone, asked if I needed help. I explained that I had a pick up order, to which she responded that I had to wait in line like everyone else. I complied with her request without complaint and waited in line. When it was my turn, she asked me for the name of my order, and I showed her my order which matched the name. However, she then insisted on confirming with me that it was indeed a pick up order. As I proceeded to confirm the order on the app, she reached for my food as if I was stealing it. I politely asked if she would like to hold it for me, to which she said yes. She then made a snarky remark and said youre welcome. Although the food was decent, the customer service interaction with this server was really disappointing.

Neighborhood gem. Nice healthy brunch options. Pricing is reasonable for the quality of ingredients and portions. Outdoor patio area is nice. Indoor area is both sit-down cafe and small market. Friendly staff have all been there for years, and owner is like the Jewish mother/grandmother that everyone deserves.

I liked the outdoor area just next time I won t sit at a Bar-top table. I was really looking forward to a dish I saw a pix of from another post here but be aware it s most likely a photo of dish off their specials list. Which most likely will be temporary and not available when you visit. So I ordered off the main menu. I had the avocado toast with salmon. It was very delish! However, a bit salty at first. Prices are expected for this area of LA. I would return if I m nearby.

Ive been coming to this restaurant since the opening, and I have to say that the management and attitude here has gotten really bad lately. The customer service with management and servers need to improve dramatically! Covid restrictions are over , and for them to have people waiting outside in the hot sun is ridiculous! This restaurant has enough room to fit anybody inside there without having to wait outside. They have already taken over the side street side walk as a outdoor patio so there is not any reason why they cant accommodate people properly . anybody has to be treated poorly by this establishment.

My friend and I frequent FOOD often after our Saturday morning walks. We have always been treated kindly. Today was such an exception, to the point of where I really haven t been able to shake it off and I have to say something. We arrived shortly after it opened. We are quite aware of the signs posted on the doors stating that a host will be with you, please wait outside ( or something to that affect), but the sun and temperature were so hot, as were we, who would have thought it mattered considering the conditions. We walked in and were greeted with the following, hello, didn t you read the signs? Unbelievable to say the least. We turned to leave and then were told in an incredibly curt way that someone will seat you in minute, you can stay inside. I was appalled. My friend and I did exchange words between ourselves about the treatment we just received and I m sure the gentleman in question knew it. So, I guess we should not have been surprised at what we experienced next. We were treated so poorly by every single staff member who came to our table with the exception of one, and unfortunately, I don t know her name. What the hell is wrong with people today? As much as I love the food at FOOD, I will never step foot in this establishment again.

Outstanding place to meet friends or go as a couple for a casual setting. We were a small group and sat outside. Tables were a nice distance apart from one another which made all of us feel safe because of Covid. But also so we could hear each other talk. Each dish was made with fresh ingredients and delicious. The staff were attentive and courteous.

A bit disappointed, whilst the waitresses were very nice, the table cloths outside were covered in stains. Also the restroom lock was broken and a member of staff knocked angrily asking me to lock myself in. I felt very uncomfortable. Finally the water made both my wife and I sick because the cucumber that was mixed in was probably too old.

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! May 8th, 2022, Mothers Day. My Wife was just there and treated so badly by the owner or manager, Judy. She was not acknowledged inside to order things to go after eating outside. They were rushing her to leave from her table outside and had only been there about 40mins, saying there was a mandate for only 1 hour, yet another table who had been there longer were not told that. When asked about it, she was not pleasant to my Wife, she made up excuses for her tone and reasoning. My Wife is one of the kindest people out there. A wait person who wasnt her wait person, came up to tell her they had to leave and my Wife explained she hadnt been there an hour; the waiter then told her that the manager told her to tell them to leave. Due to the question about their accrual of time, they said, we will give you five more minutes. My Wife asked the table that came before them were you asked to leave due to this mandate and they said, no, nor did they know about a 1 hour mandate. No signage. We respect the timeframes or rules of any place, but this feels like my Wife and friend were singled out. Really too bad they handled things like this. Back to John Ogroats down the street or the French place across the street. Weve always honored their timeframes and treated nicely.

In general, the food and service was good. Good sized portions, the food was delicious and the host was very welcoming. The downer was our waitress. I understand youre here to make money but getting short with people because one person doesnt want to order a drink aside from water is rude. The rudeness continued as we were in the middle of eating and feeding then baby when she comes over and asks if we want to box it up - we were at a table for less than an hour at this point. After finishing our food, she comes back and tells the baby, you look tired and you want to go home to take a nap, another hint that she wants us to leave. Its disappointing that I come here to patronize the business, order multiple entries, get baked goods only to get shooed by the waitress because she wants to turn the table over.

Mmmm Their cheesy biscuits and scones are the best!! Always fluffy and buttery! I will forever crave these goodies. Also, the flavors differ almost everyday since theyre baked fresh daily (or at least I think?). The food is great too as well as the selection of other specialty food items and sweets. Been great in the past but Ive recently had two meals that just werent up to their usual standards. My over easy eggs were hard, not runny at all and I asked for no dressing on my salad and it came dressed. Just sloppy. Generally I think the food here is great. I bought 2 sandwiches from Food today. They were really expensive and just tasted bad. One had tons of tapenade which totally dominated all the other flavors and the other had way too much of some sweet jam. I ll try another sandwich before I give up, but thumbs way down on the two I tried.

Food is great but staff is so rude, I was picking up my food and instead of giving it to me a staff member tell me to go outside in a rude manner. I was waiting outside for a while so I assumed to go inside because there wasn t any signs. Don t recommend if you want to dine in, just get your food delivered they are rude!

I am still in shock of how rudely I was treated last week by the staff here. I called in an order for pickup, and arrived 30 minutes later to get my food. They could not find my order, and the owner repeatedly questioned me and acted as if it was my fault that they couldnt find it. She brought out another employee to help me after having me wait 15 minutes. When he told me to come inside (not sure why this was necessary in the first place), I told him I was more comfortable speaking outside due to COVID. He, and the owner, audibly laughed at this right in front of me. He then told me very sarcastically that the same people in there are the ones touching your food, but okay. I am in awe of how disrespectful and judgmental the staff were. We are in a pandemic, how dare they laugh at me for not feeling comfortable coming inside and trying to keep myself and my family safe. I waited another 10 minutes until the man found my order. It is such a shame because they have great food, but I just cannot look past the rudeness and disrespect the staff showed me. I will not eat here again purely due to the attitudes of those working here.

Outstanding!!! The establishment has great outdoor that is both clean and organised. Every staff member there is absolutely amazing and Judy (owner) is a wonderful host! I ordered the Chaballa French Toast and ice coffee and my dear friend Amanda ordered the quiche and lemonade. Needless to say we both enjoyed our meal and the food was absolutely delicious! Also, thank you so much to Paul and Judy for wonderful dessert at the end as well! If you are in the area and are looking for a relaxing and friendly dining experience I highly recommend FOOD. Thank you to Judy, Mario and the entirety of the staff there for being the highlight of our trip! WE will definitely be returning patrons!

Food is a neighborhood institution! We love it for breakfast, takeout for lunch, and brunch on the weekends (it gets busy!) My favorites are the ricotta pancakes, tenderloin sandwich, breakfast burritos and regularly find something amazing on the daily specials. Service and staff are consistently great. If youre in the neighborhood and not visiting Food on a weekly basis, youre missing out.

FOOD is awesome. Period. With one of the best breakfast and brunch menus in town, and an ever-changing list of weekly specials that are consistently amazing. Expect to put your name on a list and wait in back for a bit by the retail fridges which have everything you usually forgot to pickup in your grocery run. Meal-wise, you cant go wrong - but if breakfast quesadillas are on the specials get them! Or the French Toast. Or the breakfast cobb salad. And when youre done, make sure to pickup some of their prepared food for dinner. And dont forget an incredible cookie!

All I gotta say is 2 words - Breakfast. Burrito. 1 adjective to describe it - Behemoth. This place is a combo of diner/restaurant inside a deli/store. They specialize in breakfast and lunch and have a specials menu comprising of all types of foods from sandwiches to dinner plates and BREAKFAST BURRITO. Standard breakfast food (bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, waffles, bowl version of said breakfast burrito). They also have breakfast sandwiches. If you have a big party it can get busy but for 2-4 people youre good. Btw get the juice because its 100% squeezed just like I remember growing up.

Great eggs and salad. Nice substitution options and cool that they dont overcook eggs like most places.

Good service and food. Little bit pricey but overall good ambiance. Metered parking in the back.

Dependable West LA breakfast, lunch, brunch destination, let down slightly by a prickly and rather blunt member of staff who seemed unfamiliar with the nuances of polite society.

This is my favorite breakfast place. It is small so be prepared to wait if you come during the main breakfast time. The food is always fresh and wonderful and the owner is almost always on the premises making sure we are all enjoying ourselves. I love their menu and recommend it for people of all ages.

Great little place for breakfast. Service was terrific. Tofu scramble was more of a breakfast stir fry but I enjoyed it with a side of vegetarian sausage. I appreciate that they had oat milk for my cappuccino. Two two-person tables outside.

Decided to stop in this Food place to find NO customer service at the register. Make sure you look at you receipt before you leave so you dont get OVERCHARGED! I ordered some pasta salad and 1 turkey meatball. Paid 17$ looked over my receipt and found she charged me for meat Lasagna and a meatball. Least to say I will not be returning to this place for any of my dinning. Service and food just did not sit well with me.

Loved the food, fast polite service and even had toys for the kids! Great selection and best part is how fresh and healthy the food is. Was a great stop on our trip!

Judy the owner is a charming and and welcoming wonderful person. They have the best ricotta pancakes by far--no one even comes close. Not Little Doms. Not Gjusta. Nada.

This place had really good breakfast and great coffee. The French toast is really tasty and by the looks of my friends omelet it was also banging. This is a chill spot, cant wait to get back next Sunday for brunch. They have everything covered but the conversation. The service is attentive and timely. I assure you nothing but satisfaction.

The food is expensive but its just so gosh darn tasty. I love the deli salads as takeaway. I think its so good because the ingredients are the highest quality. The staff is also very friendly and theres no condescending attitude you find at other organic food places. Totally worth checking out but Id advise to try going on a weekday because it looks packed on the weekends.

Very quaint little restaurant and storefront. Oatmeal was particularly tasty. Staff was very nice. Not many tables, so you may have to wait on a busy day.

Great local breakfast/lunch spot for 4 or fewer people. They have new specials every weekend. Everything is amazing. They also sell pre-made food and have an expertly catered grocery section. The staff are very friendly and are quick to help out.

Its just fresh, delicious food. The slow roasted beef tenderloin sandwich is FANTASTIC. But, I also enjoy choosing 2 or 3 of their salads for a combo plate. Good portions and a very friendly staff. Highly recommended!!!
