Coffee Roaster, Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch Neighborhood Cafe
What can I say about this place? Amazing food, great service, and amazing atmosphere. We had a sick great experience we had to come back again for brunch. The service was phenomenal. The food was amazing. The overall experience was 10/10. It was busy both days we went but the staff were on top of everything. I can’t wait to come back to LA just to come back and eat here. It truly felt welcoming.

Huevos ranchos is pretty gross. Fried eggs on top of cold corn tortilla with Salsa that tastes strongly of marinara. Nothing is fresh about the Guacamole and if you have a passion for day-old chewy potatoes that have been reheated and served you’re in luck as you’ll be served an abundance of them. Let’s not even get started on the reheated chicken sausage, or the sliver of ham slice used in the Benedict.
The reviews here lead our group of four to give this place a shot, but I strongly caution future guests to rethink Kings Road Coffee and Cafe as a brunch option for anything else that’s not a beverage.

Love this place so far. I have had their iced vanillas latte, one of the best I have had. Their bagels and sourdough bread are superb and are crafted by a longtime baker who uses a 40 year old sourdough starter to make them. I look forward to coming back and having a proper meal. There are tables outside, a little cafe detached from the main restaurant and then the restaurant has lots of outside and inside seating with heaters.

I love the rich flavors and large portions of the food. I had breakfast here and the presentation was awesome. I had the 3-1 meal. The decor was like most places farmhouse rustic style. The staff was helpful and attentive. You could eat inside or out. It was busy for a Sunday and the place sits on a corner of Beverly St. The restaurant is divided with the left side being Take-out and the Right side being Dine-in. Highly recommend.

LOCAL FAV- a great spot to grab breakfast, Brunch, or lunch. Delicious food, great staff, and a casual atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for the portions. Have never had a bad meal. The omelettes are our typical go to. They do not take reservations, so sometimes there is a short wait.

Kings Road Cafe gets a 6-star review. Ive had two different dishes and would order each again. Now, I want to try other options from the menu. Parking: I believe its mostly street parking. I dont know if there is a parking lot for the cafe. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps. There are plenty of sidewalk and interior tables that are wheelchair accessible.

My favorite spot for years until I found out they cook their beans in LARD. Feels like something that should be mentioned on the menu. Their breakfast burrito is incredible- does it really need to be cooked in pork though?

I came from DTLA to pick up coffee beans and figured I d try dinner. I wasn t even sure it was opening as it was empty inside. I ordered beans and asked if I could eat in? Ellis who turned out to be the manager said of course and brought a ton of enthusiasm which to be honest isn t the usual service here. Really went through the menu in great detail. I was between the spaghetti and meatballs and the short rib pasta. He said- Hey, why don t we do a 50/50. Which on its own was awesome. Then the food came - the portions were very good size, and DELICIOUS beyond what I could have hoped for. People are sleeping on this dinner menu. Truly 5 stars on the food and overall experience! Really made my night. Thank you again Ellis. Great job Lawrence!!

We came for the new later hours Wednesday through Saturday and Happy Hour...on a weekday (not Friday or Saturday). We came in thinking that the pizza was half off for Happy Hour, but that was not the case. We both had pasta dishes. My friend had 2 glasses of wine. The only special discount pricing is that the beer is discounted if you order a pizza. It would be nice if there was also a discount deal for wine. Since there wasnt, we didnt order a pizza. It might be nice...for Happy Hour...if there was a discount on drinks if you order meals (regardless of whether its pizza or a different dinner entree like pasta dinners). I personally dont drink beer or wine, so having sangria would be nice. I do not like when youre given 3 tipping choices on the digital equipment at the end of the meal and the lowest choice is 20 percent. The lowest choice should be 15 percent...which is plenty. People shouldnt be forced to choose other to leave less than a 20 percent tip and then have to calculate what it should be...thats annoying. Anyway, tips belong to the waiter and they get minimum wage too, so no reason to upset customers when the restaurant does not benefit from pushing/coercing excessive tipping. We had 2 people serving us, a man and a woman, and they were both great. We sat on the cafe side (there is also a restaurant side), which is quieter and you can spread out more...also a TV with sports...the French Open was on. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great...very friendly.

Incredibly disappointing experience. 4 of us showed up and each ordered a plate; my friend ordered extra pancakes. Food was decent with the exception of 1 member who sent his entire plate back of Avocado Toast due to stale bread. After food was delivered, the server did not show up once for follow up on coffee, etc. We actually had to waive down service (to order a to-go plate for a friend back home); the servers were sitting down talking to one another. When the server brought the check, she confirmed the items on the touchscreen device. The server then flipped the machine which showed a total of $150 and then asked for tip options of 15%, 18%, etc. Due to the sub-par experience, I opted to tip lower and pressed Custom which then showed a price breakdown, and to my surprise, a 18% tip had already been applied (sever made no mention of this)! I questioned 1) why she did not inform me tip was applied before showing me a screen asking for additional tip and 2) why was a tip automatically applied in the first place. She said that her system automatically tips on parties of 6 or more - we were a party of four. Her response was that we ordered 6 plates [the extra side of pancakes and a to-go order]. Apparently no manager was on site to dispute and we needed to call back another day. Absolutely ridiculous tactics and poor service. Please folks, watch out for this restaurant applying automatic tips on small parties, and then asking for additional tips on top. This situation is another example why California has just passed a law to crack down on these deceptive practices.

A really good place to grab some breakfast and a nice coffee. We had avocado toast, side of roasted potatoes, coffee cake, and chocolate croissants. We had pretty good croissants in Europe so really hard to compare but they were good. Avocado toast was really flavorful and one of the best potatoes we had in a while. Service was quick and they have a separate area for sitting vs quick take out.

I very much looked forward to this restaurant for breakfast last Sunday while visiting in Los Angeles. However, the atmosphere, service, and food did not live up to the hype that I received about it. The restaurant was packed inside and out with people, indicating its popularity in this LA community. However, the menu was rather limited and the food was good but I would not say excellent. The wait staff service was atrocious however. The the staff was not friendly and engaging. Initially, I thought that our waitress may have been overburdened with the number of people at the restaurant. However in asking one or two other staff for items we received the same kind of cold shoulder and non-friendly responses. Its always possible to hit a restaurant on a bad day and I will give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt for that fact. Therefore, I will not recommend or not recommend this restaurant. ( As a member in the top 10% of reviewers anyone who has read my numerous reviews over the past few years knows that I am a very kind reviewer and not prone to negative reviews.)

The only bad thing about this place is it might be hard to find parking. Other than that, the food is outstanding, and the service is great. I am not a coffee drinker, but everyone I have been here with raves about the coffee. I have tried many things on the menu and have never been disappointed.

I dislike giving a poor review when the staff and servers are so nice, but the food wasnt great and the coffee was not drinkable. I took my friend here as a gift for a promotion he received and I was kind of embarrassed. Youll see in the pics the coffee (I only had a few sips) was burnt and bitter. The eggs were overdone, the hollandaise sauce had no lemon and had very little taste, the croissant wasnt toasted, and the bacon was almost non-existent. The potatoes were great though!!!! Again, I really dislike bashing the food and drink when everything else was so nice, but I have to be honest. To make up for it, today I took my friend to a bagel place and for less than 1/2 the price we had absolutely amazing coffee and bagel sandwich. Parking: It was difficult to find a meter nearby. I had to park a few blocks away. I dont mind walking so its not a big deal at all.

The food WA s incredible. The service was five star, and the atmosphere was everything that one could ask of brunch in the west side of Los Angeles on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We were sat immediately upon approaching the restaurant entrance, the food came out steaming hot at a lightning pace, and they roast their own coffee beans in front of the side window. What more can I say? Wish I had more stars to give this place!

Salad was great too. Loved the dressing. The staff was very helpful and fast!

Went for breakfast, food was bland/nothing special, definitely not worth the price. Asked for a regular coffee and I received an americano. She said it wasn t an americano but it definitely was. The espresso was over extracted and tasted horrible. Luckily she took it off the bill when I asked her to take it back. Thank you for that! Not my top spot, but maybe it was just an off day.

Long time a favorite kept in the back pocket as long as there is parking on Beverly, but during recent years there have been many other choices to consider nearby. Popular brunch spot among locals alike, the weekend wait times under some nice SoCal weather can be discerning. Outdoor seating isnt plentiful, and indoor seating is limited. The menu is well laid out and covers a nice broad stroke for taste. The generic nature is comforting and unfortunately doesnt stand out from the crowd anymore. You can get a fine meal here and a nice place to enjoy it as the hustle of Beverly Blvd passes by. The only bitter bite is the prices. Some items seem worth the effort, and yet some are not. The menu updates have also been a slight concern, as some favorites have been eliminated through the many years to make way for a pass at creativity. The coffee here continues to be excellent. It has always been their strong suit.

I didnt realize it till we were back on the road and I opened my plate up. The Chorizo was pretty bland. I gave it two stars because the bar side is really cute.

The food and coffee here is very good. Its expensive but you are getting a quality experience to match your price. Im a big guy and wish there was about 15% more food on my plate (I was still a bit hungry at the end.) the glass of orange juice cost 7.50 but it seemed to be freshly squeezed. The coffee was an Americano and was actually really really good. Serving and good was timely and they have a good deal of outside seating as well as a fair amount inside. I come here moderately often for a good breakfast when Im visiting clients on Melrose Place and Beverly Hills. Ive only ever had their breakfast food but I would probably bet all the food here is pretty good. Parking: Theres metered street parking but its hard to come by sometimes

Disappointed to see how this place has gone downhill. Sat outside with my puppy and a friend. We were greeted and given menus but it took a while until our server came to take our order. Our drinks came out pretty quickly, but my food took an insane amount of time and when it finally came out it was basically cold. I let the server know and she took it away, almost in a huff, without saying much if anything. Replacement food came out, but not quickly. Eggs were not quite sunny side up as ordered, but I ate my food and didnt say anything. My friend also ordered a second mimosa and I ordered a second orange juice. Her Mimosa was brought out right away, but my orange juice was forgotten. Took forever to flag a server down for anything. Its like they were actively avoiding the outdoors. We asked one of the bussers to grab our server for the check, and they brought it out for us. A few minutes later our server comes out with the check. There were no apologies given for poor service, or cold food, or forgotten beverages.

Overpriced for what it is

Heard lots of good things about this place and was a little let down. There are two doors, same restaurant, outdoor seating as well, parking is a bit challenging. A little pricey for a cup of coffee, and staff was not that friendly. Don t think I ll be returning, but wasn t the worst coffee either.

Please please please dont come here!! The egg Benedict was the worst egg Benedict I have ever eaten. Their customer was horrible! I requested no potatoes for my dish but they still serve me potatoes, so I asked the server and she said are you allergic to potatoes?, I answered no, but I requested no potatoes, then she replied oh, its okay, you can just leave it there because we are going to throw it away anyway as we already serve it to you. Huh?!?!
