Beautiful outdoor garden Restaurant. Private dining options available. New American dining with European influencers. Specialty coffees, Fresh juices, breakfast, brunch, cocktails, beer, wine, Dinner and desert available.
Cute brunch spot and they made it so cozy for fall with private outdoor seating and blankets! This is a cute hidden gem in Echo Park with a fairly diverse menu.
We ordered their Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes, Spanish Frittata, and Pork Benedict. Their hot tea set was a perfect complement to the meal! And so cute and whimsical.
Parking is street parking which wasn’t too hard to find during lunch time when we went.
My only wish was full service and not having to order at the counter but it wasn’t a complete deal breaker. Our server still took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed.
Would be nice to come back and try their dinner menu and ambiance!

This was my first time at this restaurant. I was seated fast. My food order came fast as well. I ordered the Veggie Frittata, and my friend ordered Eggs Benedict with pulled pork. The frittata was a nice size but had zero flavor. Not a lot of cheese. My mixed salad was soggy and had a few dead pieces of arugula. They also didn't have salt & pepper shakers on the table. The ambiance was nice. Everyone was seated in small, intimate sections, which is a nice touch when speaking to each at the table. My friends' food lacked hollandaise sauce, and the pork was a little dry, according to my friend. Parking for this restaurant is terrible. Be prepared to walk. They don't have a parking structure, so you will need to park on the street. I would try this restaurant again.

This is a charming, pretty and very Instagrammable spot perfect for brunch! The ambiance is so cozy, and the seating is nice and inviting. We had steak and egg and egg benedict. They’re very good. The hot drinks are good too. Restroom was also decorated very well. It’s hidden in a little street Echo Park in LA. Free street parking is quite easy to find when we went in the morning.

Lady Byrd Cafe can be found in an Echo Park neighborhood. I had to go back and forth to find it. It’s a little hidden. Parking is on the street and can be difficult to find since it’s in a neighborhood.
When we first got there, it was charming and inviting. There’s flowers and plants everywhere with tables and seating areas throughout. There are outdoor cabanas and outdoor covered patios. It could use some more fresh flowers and plants, new menus and cleaner table cloths. These are easily fixed. Overall, it is a cute cafe, great for a date or with a group! It can get pretty busy so note that you may have a long wait.
Nevan had friendly and wonderful customer service!! The staff that we encountered were very nice and helpful.
The tea service was delightful as they set a beautiful vintage tea set on the table!! They offer mimosas, sangria, wine and coffee as well.
The Smoked Brisket Pastrami was my FAVORITE!! I could not stop eating this saying I really like this!! It was my kind of sandwich!! It was both of our favorites! Loved the smoked brisket pastrami, from the flavor and how tender it was! The artisan bread was perfect for this sandwich!! It was crispy and held up. This is definitely a sandwich I would get again!
The Pork Benedict has tender, house braised pulled pork topped on top of brioche bread. We weren’t a fan of the brioche, which was too soft. I did love the poached egg on top. I would have liked more hollandaise sauce on top.
The Grilled Cheese was a little unique with tomato inside. Loved the artesian bread they used. Very Crispy on the outside and cheesy in the middle. The side salad was very tasty; certainly tastier than the fries.
The French Toast looked really pretty. Loved the strawberries and honey cream!! I would have liked the bread to be crispier than just being soft.

Happened across this brunch spot and the vibes were great. Not a lot of people there when we came. Maybe 40% full. Then came the service. 20 minutes waiting for water. Finally was able to order. The food was unseasoned and dry. The table behind us was sat before us and asked for something and the server said “let me go check” — eventually they had to go find the server to order. They didn’t get their food until we were leaving. And we waited 20 minutes after plates were stacked and coffee was out before we could find a server. I wish we never walked past this place. The dry cold bacon side was $6. Which was just insulting.

Came here with my cousin today after I flew into LA this morning. We were really hungry and wanted to grab late breakfast/ brunch and came across this place. We were not greeted upon entry and had to walk to the counter inside where we were handed some dirty paper menues and were told to make payment when we decided what we wanted to order. I was confused because it’s a sit down restaurant and didn’t understand why we would be paying before being served. After we paid we had to go find somewhere to sit by ourselves and were not offered or asked if we wanted water or anything while we waited. The food took about 10-15 mins to come out which I thought was a decent amount of wait time as they weren’t that busy.
The lemonades we ordered came out first, and my cousins drink was filled with little fly like bugs or tiny spiders. Was very grossed out and took it back inside to the staff, who just replaced our drinks with canned limonatas.
I ordered the lemon poppy seed pancakes as I was told it’s one of their most popular dish, and my cousin ordered the beef burger. Our food looked to be promising upon initial sight, however we were very disappointed with the taste once we started eating. Both our dishes were very dry and lacked much flavour.
It was very disappointing because we were excited to eat and try out what we thought would be a new discovery.
The aesthetic of the place is cute and maybe good for some photos, but otherwise, it’s a bit dingy and dirty. Overall I would definitely not recommend this place for food, and the service was very subpar.

Was really hopeful and excited for this place. We made a reservation and had to go inside to find someone to help us, still ended up waiting 30 minutes to be sat. I asked for a more private area on the reservation but was still sat at a very public area which is why we came. Our food took 50 minutes and all we ordered was a salad and fries also we ordered broccoli and they waited and hour till our food came to let us know they were out?? our sever was lovely and the sangria was good. Besides that I would not recommend this place if you re not near by.

Cute aesthetics but piss poor service and food. Got seated and it took 12 minutes to even get our water. Then it took another seven minutes for someone to take our food order. At this time, I looked around and noticed a lot of people did not have their food, but I saw them being seated before us. Food took 38 minutes to hit the table and when it got there, ice cold. I was super hungry so I just went ahead and ate a few bites of mine. Big mistake. There was so much cream on the French toast. It made it sickly sweet and the strawberry to bread ratio was off. They did not even need to call it strawberry French toast there were so few strawberries not to mention they weren t even fresh strawberries. My daughter could not eat her cold French toast so we asked for a replacement. She waited 25 minutes for the classic eggs benedict and when it arrived, it was also ice cold. Beyond frustrating. There seemed to be a lack of competent staff as there was one guy constantly running around with food but never knowing where to take it and walking around asking table after table was this their food. The host/owner was cavalier and rude to people asking for direction as it was so unclear what was what when you first arrive. Won t be back again.

The quality food the only thing I didnt like is that they dont have several types of coffee, there is only one flavor and that disappointed me a little Parking: It wasnt that difficult to park my car next to the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: They really put the food with a fun touch so that the little ones eat healthy and fun.

I am beyond upset , made a reservation and had to wait in line for that still ? Name was not even on the list . Then to make an order took 45 min we asked for espresso and it was black coffee and not even hot , and to order the food it took 1 hour and 30 min for them to get the food and guess what ? Food was cold . Plus we have to go get the cream / milk and sugar they were looking to other tables and see if they have it . THE WORST .

The place is completely out of the ordinary, they have a variety of tables and you can sit inside or on the patio with nature, the staff is very friendly, the service is fast. The saucers are small, so because they are small the price is a little high, they dont give you extra coffee, as it is in the patio with nature, the first table we sat down had a lot of ants, there are also cobwebs, not many but there are. So if you are visiting this place for the first time expect that depending on where you choose to sit.

My friend and I decided to have brunch at this spot since it was a beautiful day with gorgeous weather. She told me when she came here before that they used to have like bubble igloo type seating. However, now, they do have more intimate seating options. We decided to sit closer to where the bar area was against the wall. We ordered the Steak & Eggs at a medium rare, Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes, and the Pork Benedict to share. The steak was a but to rare for my liking, but we still ate it - nonetheless. The benedict sits on thick slices of bread, which was different. We did like that the pork was not dry, and the eggs were perfectly poached. The star of the brunch has to be the pancakes though. Moist, not too sweet, and just perfect. Our service was lovely from Sid. We got our food out in a timely manner. You can also check-in on Yelp to redeem a free dessert of your choice, which I thought was pretty cool. We enjoyed the ambiance. The aesthetics here bright and full of florals. Since its mainly outdoor and open seating, they provide fly swatter fans for customers to keep the bugs away. Theres free 2 hour street parking available, just be careful for days they have street sweeping.

Lady Byrd has long been on my list of restaurants to try. Today I finally made it and was woefully disappointed. I ll start with the positives: the space is adorable. The service was friendly. That s where it ends. They were out of nearly everything we were going to order on the menu: Pinot Grigio. Soyrizo burrito. Chicken panini. Vegan sausage sandwich. Chicken club. We ordered one of the few times they did have, and the order came out wrong. The server never checked on us after receiving our food. We left underwhelmed and disappointed. It s not an inexpensive experience.

The service has been going downhill but the first time I went the food was delicious, the lemon poppy seed pancakes with the eggs, POTATOES, and bacon I ordered were delicious I highly recommend. However I do wish the service improves, especially with how the manager treats her employees at the end of the day good service comes down to management

I went with my family of 5 and as soon as we sat down we liked the decorations of the restaurant but the speaker was on full volume right next to our table. We sat down and waited 10 minutes for a server to come and another 20-25 minutes to get menus. The menus were paper and were crumbled up. We waited another 25 minutes for anyone to come to get our order. When we finally ordered the food took 30 minutes and the medium well steak we ordered was well done and it couldn t be chewed at all. The whole restaurant has only 2 servers and what s obvious is that the owner spent all the money on the decorations and didn t think to hire more servers and cooks.

I asked the waiter, he went to go check, then I asked the busboy and he said 2 minutes then I asked the manager and she helped another table!!!! We found it on Instagram and my daughter really wanted to go - TERRIBLE!! Pissed beyond words. When I stopped the manager AGAIN - over an hour - she said she wld give me the food on them. What a waste of time - salad was nothing special- taking my sandwich to go The waiter was super friendly - sad really wanted to like the place

I liked the idea of being perched in a cage, but when I asked for tap water I expected at least to have a clean glass. Additionally, they did not seem to have ice available? Also, we asked for reservations in advance yet we were told not to and we had to stand in the sun around 20 mins. The french toast had a hair in it, flavour wise was ok.

Worst steak and eggs I have ever had in my life. I mean nauseatingly bad, my stomach has been hurting ever since. I asked for medium rare and got basically just rare, gummy, just terrible meat. The eggs tasted like yellow. I have no idea how you screw up steak and eggs this badly, but not worth the money- or eating at all. The staff forgot our requests like three separate times. Theyre obviously coasting off the cutesy ambience.

I ll start by saying everyone who works there is nice. No one was rude and everyone seemed to be trying their best. But, wow, the experience was an overall debacle. We made reservations via Yelp - they re not available on open table. Yelp says something like, this restaurant takes a limited number of reservations, so I grabbed one of those limited numbered reservations for Father s Day. We were seated pretty much immediately upon arriving - but there was a very long line waiting to be seated the entire time we were there. (Sunday, Father s Day, dodger game, prime brunch time probably all didn t help.) The water glasses came out dirty - legit dirty, we asked for new ones and placed our drink order. Getting the drinks took 30 minutes. Getting coffee took 30 minutes. It shouldn t take that long for drinks but especially coffee. I don t even drink coffee, other folks in my party did - and usually coffee at breakfast, brunch is served immediately and someone is walking around refilling along the way. No. 30 minutes for the first coffee and never a refill. We didn t get a fresh bottle of water for the table when we ran out either. The silverware and napkins were tossed in front of me to hand out to the rest of the table - there wasn t enough - I asked for more, that request remained unfulfilled. It took about 45 minutes for the food to finally come out. I ordered the chicken panini (chicken slices, mozzarella, tomato, pesto on panini bread) but asked for it without chicken. I figured it would make a nice caprese sandwich. I was wrong. First the sandwich came with just tomato and pesto. I asked for the cheese. They brought out sliced American (or maybe cheddar either way wasn t mozzarella) on a plate. I ask again for mozzarella, another plate of yellow sliced cheese comes out. I ask again - finally mozzarella comes out and it s like grocery store sliced mozzarella, not nice, fresh mozz. Disappointing- but the modification is on me. The service and communication challenges between the servers and the kitchen however, not on me. My son ordered a plain burger - it came with cheese. We send it back, a new one comes out 15 minutes later, the plate is chipped and has bits of shredded lettuce and pesto on it. My daughter ordered the French toast - the syrup on the table is like fake corn syrup syrup not real maple syrup. My brother and husband got breakfast burritos which they said were tasty. The experience on a whole was frustrating and overpriced for the quality of the ingredients and lack of service Definitely would not go back. All of that said - there were people being really rude and nasty to the servers - and I feel like the problem stems from leadership. It s almost like the people running the place have never run a restaurant before and have no clue what they re doing. There s not enough help, the servers and the kitchen clearly are communicating clearly with each other, and there s a cleanliness issue with the plates, glasses, and silverware. It s a shame because vibes are chill, space is nice, and we live in the neighborhood so would love to have this as a spot on regularly rotation - but it s a big never again from me. Parking is another conundrum - why the management at the restaurant hasn t worked out valet and/or paying the empty-on-the-weekend school to use their school yard for parking. It must be tough on the restaurant neighbors. If you do go, try not to take frustrations out on staff - it s not their fault. There was a guy at the table behind us being a real jerk to the servers. There s no point - it s the management/owners who are to blame here. Kid-friendliness: The seating is sort of inside but outside (like Speranza if you ve ever eaten there.) Poppy music is playing and it s a little noisy so kids fit right in.

My sister and I wanted to try this place because it looked cute. When we got there there were two lines, the host didnt explain which line was for what. We waited and waited, he seemed to seat other people besides us. When we finally complained he finally sat us down, quite quickly. At this point my sister and I were already frustrated. The server came to give us our water cups and guess what, there was a fly in my water. Nope. Horrible service by the host, the waiter couldve been more attentive. We got up and left, after reading other reviews Im glad we didnt stay for the food.

We went for Mothers Day, so in all fairness, this visit is not necessarily indicative of business as usual. I will say the food was very good, and they were very busy, so with this in mind, I would have appreciated less of a wait. We were seated quickly as we had a reservation, but it took a long time to get served, and small niceries like refills on coffee before it gets cold would be welcome. Parking: No lot but some street parking available until it gets busy.

The food was good, exactly what you expect from the descriptions. I was more surprised and loved their tea service. The service was good--friendly and polite. What makes me want to go back is the slice of secret garden atmosphere. Did not expect it and picture does not do justice for how it feels to lively chit chat with your friends while having a decent meal. Also cute spot for day dates. They got the vibe just right: cozy in a garden thats not too manicured but more real and a bit wild to be enchanting but not too tamed to be fake. Vegetarian options: Salads and pasta, also their sweer breakfast options like pancakes and French toast should be vegetarian (dont know about vegan due to use of milk and butter).

This place was so awesome! I got the salmon benedict and it did not disappoint, very tasty. But my main favorite thing was the vibe. The tables are all very cozy, they even have blankets if you get cold or if you want to sit on them for more support. The dishes / ceramics are all unique (think Anthropologie style but even cooler). I also got a macchiato that came in a really fancy cup. My friend got a Mexican Coke and a chicken panini sandwich with fries and she loved her food too. Its just a cool place, will definitely come back. Oh our waiter was cool too, he had the best banana colored nails.

It was a little chaotic. Kitchen wasnt communicating with service, it was a busy mothers day, but still could have done better job communicating with guests about the kitchen back up & advising of running out of items until others had their meals served. Quaint cafe, needs better organization. Bring your patience pants.

Tl;dr: dont come here unless youre willing to wait 3 hours for your food. Stood in the sun for over 30 minutes waiting to be seated, despite having a reservation. (Hostess said everyone has a reservation and seated parties based on who complained the loudest.) It was 45 minutes by the time we received water, and only because we flagged down a server from another section. Its been nearly an hour now and they finally took our order--only to inform us theyre out of the ingredients needed for probably half of their dishes. Was told 10 more minutes at the 2 hour mark. Told 7 more minutes at the 2.5 hour mark. Finally received food closer to the 3 hour mark. No clue how the food actually tasted because I was so starving, I scarfed it down as soon as it hit the table. And theres one bathroom. One. For the whole place. Line was always 5+ people/~15 minutes long. And just to be clear, the wait staff were so kind and apologetic--all of the above issues *reek* of terrible upper management, not poor service on staffs part. Will not be back.

The first time I came to eat here and did was great and love the setting.. my family and I came back for Mother s Day. I had a reservation. We got there and they didn t even acknowledge us however they did with the people in front of us. Someone else came to get us like 10 min later. After he sat us our table didn t even had a menu to scan.. we still waited because I am a server bartender myself and i understand the business, how ever the server kept taking pictures of 2 families next to us and didn t even offer a water or say at least hi I ll be right back or anything. We kept waiting for around 20 min until I went up to the bar to ask nicely if we could order and the server looked bothered, said ok and never came 10 min passed and we just decided to leave and the server was at the bar just standing.. made a face like whatever when saw us leaving. Honestly, this is not to get anyone in trouble but it felt very uncomfortable and it would be to strong to say what my family and I really thought was the problem but it felt like he didn t want to help us. Is just not nice to treat people differently for how they look or who they are.

Honest to God, it was one of the worst experiences at a restaurant i ve ever had the displeasure of having. Arrived with a reservation placed at 11:30 A.M. on a Saturday. Waiting for a table seems extremely disorganized as they just tell you to go to the right or left side of the entry with no order or confirmation on how long it will take to get sat. We ended up getting sat about 20 minutes after the reservation and it seemed like the wait time wasn t over because it took another 20 minutes just to even get acknowledged once we were at the table. The environment was cute and charming but that only distracted us for the first 5 minutes before the hunger and discomfort took over. The lady at the front seating people genuinely seemed out of it, dare I say she seemed like she was high out of her mind. I don t know if it s my imagination but she seemed to give preferential treatment to the non-POC s waiting in line. The whole restaurant seems to be falling apart and the main problem was any lack of professionalism. The only saving grace was our server, a young man with a beard who seemed stressed out of his mind and as a service worker myself I don t blame him. It s a wonder how this place is still up and running seeing that the food isn t even remotely worth the hassle you have to go through to even get acknowledged.

It s a unique restaurant with good food but the service is consistently very slow on weekends. They need to hire people and train their current staff on customer service. I was there on Saturday and it took us 40 minutes to get our coffees and we didn t have our food after being sat for 90 minutes. The server never offered our table water and was not apologetic about the wait. Our server didn t communicate the reason for the delay until we asked for our check to leave after having only received coffee. I love this place so it sucks to have had such bad service. I doubt I ll be going back unfortunately. I will note the bus boy was very nice and tried to be helpful. I think Lady Byrd is just constantly understaffed on weekends and they seriously need another barista because the coffee always takes a long time to come out.

Came here a while ago because I thought this place looked so cute in many tiktoks. I went on a Saturday afternoon and stood at the entrance waiting to be seated while the place was basically empty, the waitress passed us a couple times. We ended up getting seated by a guy who was cleaning tables. It took a while for the waitress to come and take our drink order (which she never brought out). We ended up having to call someone over to help us out and still the food and drinks took ages to come out. The food was mid. Really would have preferred to waste my money else where with better quality service and food. Disappointing experience.

Found this little gem since we were in the area and we were not disappointed. We made a reservation for 7 and they accommodated. Our server was Peetie (I dont know if thats how you spell it) she was amazing The food was 7/10 nothing that popped out. Definitely a really cool area its all outdoors but they provide blankets which I thought was very cool!

A quaint and spacious café located in the quiet neighborhood of Echo Park. This spot was all over my feed for their brunch menu, so like many others, I assumed they were only open for brunch only to figure out that theyre actually open throughout the day for dinner as well. Im not a big fan of long waits so I was down to check them out for dinner. You may have seen the outdoor seating area with the greenhouses, but they also have an indoor dining area that is beautiful at night with all the lights on. I love that they have blankets on each seat and sofa in case you get cold but they also have those outdoor heaters as well. The atmosphere is perfect if youre looking for a cozy date night spot. I came in with a friend for the first time and enjoyed the dining experience, so I had to come back for a second time! || L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G || -Cross Streets are Baxter St. and Echo Park Ave. -Free Street Parking, no parking lot. Make sure to double check any nearby signs to ensure that your car wont get towed away || F O O D / D R I N K S || Steak & Eggs - My favorite item ordered! The steak was super tender and the portions were generous! Highly recommend. Pulled Pork Sandwich - A crowd favorite! Im not a big fan of pulled pork but my friend wanted to order it. I was actually surprised how good it was, the pulled pork was tender and wasnt dry like other spots Ive tried. Smoked Brisket Pastrami Sandwich - Super flavorful! I think I could use a bit more smoky flavor on the pastrami but it was still delicious as is! Monte Cristo - Surprisingly really delicious! Its on the kids menu but the portion was pretty generous! I loved how crispy the toast was. Definitely recommend if youre looking for something savory and sweet. Creamy Chicken Pasta (in lieu of Shrimp as they ran out the day of) - They didnt have shrimp so I opted for the chicken as my choice of protein. It was creamy good with lots of flavor. Although the pasta was slightly overcooked, I still enjoyed the flavor. Pesto - My favorite pasta dish! The pesto flavor was really strong here and I loved the use of mushrooms and zucchini in this dish. Would get this again! Pot of Tea - HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It comes in a cute teapot and teacup. Ask for their selection of teas as I believe it varies each day. I had their fresh mint tea which was so soothing and for my 2nd visit, they only had Earl Grey left. I recommend coming in early for dinner and finish your dinner off with some tea to enjoy the ambience. White Sangria - I never had a white sangria so I thought this was interesting. I didnt really taste any alcohol in this, so Im not sure if its the lack of alcohol used or if its one of those dangerous cocktails that taste so good that it masks the alcohol. I still enjoyed it with my creamy pasta, it was refreshing! Strawberry Margarita - I liked how theirs wasnt super sweet. Like the White Sangria, the alcohol didnt seem too strong, so if thats what you prefer, then their alcoholic drinks are perfect for you!

Instagram lured me in and its not as beautiful in person. After being seated, we asked to be moved- as did a few other people because the patio area has rickety outdoor furniture. We were seated in a greenhouse and we had to block the plates and cups from sliding off since the table was leaning to one side. Food was great, we shared a soyrizo burrito and French toast which were both excellent. I asked for a latte with caramel syrup and it was too sweet. The worst of the lot was the white sangria. It was awful, not sure if it was the glass it was served in but we left those behind.

Wish I had more photos to post but I had only mines. Came with a group of 4. Just a fyi, there is a school nearby and they dont serve alcohol until after 4 during the week so you cannot get boozy brunch during the week, only the weekends here. They gave us utensils on a little platter and one of the knives has stuck on onion on it we had to ask for a new one. I ordered a spanish frittata. It came out a bit dry and they gave me what looked like a kraft single for the cheese. The taste was fine overall, presentation was bad. My friend and his wife got the bacon burrito and a plate respectively and they seem very basic. We also bought a Nutella monte cristo and it was just running with oil. They gave us the check that was a bird cage(?) For the price and the atmosphere, you can go elsewhere.

The food is BLAND. Not worth the trip and its overpriced. No parking. The vibe is a cute garden patio with mix-matched everything. Overall, it is aesthetic, but the food was bad. The staff members are nice. The manager asked me how it was, and I was honest, saying it was okay....just okay, not good and not the worst. The bathroom is gross (part storage closet, a mirror leaned against the wall, instead of put away or hanging up ... graffiti, peeling stained glass window covers).

Hire more staff. The employees are clearly overwhelmed. There is no formal waitlist to get into this place. It gets pretty crowded and people are randomly assigned tables. Food is decent but definitely not worth the wait. This place has great potential. Please hire more staff. 2-3 vegetarian options.

We had a reservation. when we got there, there was a huge crowd of people aimlessly standing around wondering when theyd be seated. There was absolutely no system whatsoever, but instead, the hostess was randomly selecting parties in no particular order. Eventually, the aloof and lackadaisical hostess sat us 20 minutes after our reservation. When we were finally seated, they only had 1 QR code for the menu that everyone in the restaurant had to share. We waited 20 mins before someone even came to take our order, and we knew to get in our orders quickly because we knew how long everyone elses were taking. After waiting 45 mins for anything to come to our table they brought the wrong food TWICE!! The whole time we were there we noticed other customers around us sharing in our very same frustrations at the lack of service and consistent mistakes. That was the last straw, we gave up and decided to leave. This place is chaotic. we truly felt bad for the employees running around because this place is severely mismanaged.

Aesthetic garden party-esque spot that has private greenhouses for seating. The seating had blankets and though the greenhouse was a bit cramped, it was a fun experience. Came here with a friend for brunch and we had a reservation, but we arrived early and they were able to seat us. We had the French toast to split and I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict while my friend got the breakfast plate. The Benedict came with a side of potatoes and the food was decent. The French toast was on the sweet side but the food overall looked very aesthetic (particularly the heart shaped sauce ramekins). Service was very slow and we had to ask three different people to get one water refill. To be fair, they were busy and the restaurant was full. Credit cards accepted. Indoor seating is also available as well as bar seating. Single occupant restroom in the back but note you need to pull the string in order to flush the toilet.

We were quickly acknowledged and sat immediately ( we had reservations made last minute!) Our coffee order and water was delivered within minutes. Although we were on the patio on a dreary morning the heaters made us cozy The waiter was so attentive pleasant and friendly and took our orders as well as answered questions He returned a few minutes later to verify the order stating that it was his first day ! He was very professional and should be commended for such great service We had no idea ! Our order came up hot and quickly The food was good but the service outshone it all! If we lived closer ( Orange county!? We would be regulars Our only concern was the poor quality of the only bathroom It was in need of some desperate repairs !

The garden is composed of weird greenhouses that look cute from afar, but are dirty and falling apart. The service was not great. When I entered the guy working stared at me almost as if he was asking what I want. The playing of the food was nice, but the food itself was bland, tough, and undercooked. I ordered lemon poppy seed pancakes. They were so DENSE and doughy When paying 16.50 for two pancakes you would expect them to be delicate, fluffy and sweet. These pancakes had almost zero flavor on their own and were only saved by the syrup. I felt like I was eating protein pancakes. I also got a side of potatoes which were bland and burned. Overall the experience here was pretty terrible and I wouldnt recommend coming here for the food or the atmosphere. Pictures attached: Burned potatoes Dirty table they tried to seat me at The patio

The vibe of this restaurant is very...interesting. It has a grandmas garden vibe off to the right of the entrance. There are little greenhouses that you can sit in but honestly it feels like everything is falling apart and is not maintained at all. Theres a patio area that is much more open but the trees there are dry and dead. The kitchen area has seats but is very disorganized and dirty. So there is no indoor seating. The food is not the best. While the plating is pretty, the taste was not there. The potatoes were unseasoned and burned. The pancakes were dense, chewy, and lacking. The ricotta and blueberries are the only thing that saves the pancakes. The music played also doesnt match the vibe. Its like pop hits from the 90s and 2000s. We listened to Shake Your Booty very loudly and it was just strange. Overall, I recommend skipping this place.

This place has potential but the management is a little off, we went in as a group of 4.5, and we had reservations. I understand that this particular day it was raining , so half of the place was not available. We arrived and the host did not know how to handle the situation. She basically said reservations are canceled and we would have to wait in like as if we had no reservations. After waiting an addition 30min a separate host wanted to sit us in the outdoor patio because the rain had stopped for a 10min period. We denied the seats and waited an additional 10min. Once we got a seat we noticed that the tent was leaking everywhere. It kept drippin in our water, our coffee and our food. The pasta that my girlfriend ordered was delicious but the French toast was definitely burnt and it was not the business. This place has potential but definitely needs some help. Would like to recommend it but I definitely can not with the experience that I had. Parking: Parking sucks at this place especially on a busy day

I went there on a busy Saturday for lunch, so I wasn t too surprised by the wait time. We were seated pretty quickly, but didn t get menus or water for about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, it seemed as though the restaurant was short staffed, only having two servers throughout the entire place on a Saturday during brunch! We were very patient with the service, considering we noticed the situation, but still pretty surprised with the scheduling choices. After ordering, and receiving our food and drinks I was rather unimpressed by the food quality. It wasn t terrible, but also wasn t anything worth remembering definitely kid friendly, a lot of options on the menu. Likely some thing on there for everyone to enjoy. Based on the quality of food, the pricing is pretty fair. Similar to a lot of restaurants in LA you are pretty much paying for the ambience. We sat in a very cute private booth lots of photo ops. I likely won t go back due to it being inaccessible by train, and my disappointment with the food quality but if you re in the area you may as well stop by.

We had reservations for 1130 at this place and when we arrived all tables were full no tables were reserved. There was no where to check in to confirm our checks in/reservation. There were others who arrived with reservation having the same issues as us. We watched as random groups with no reservation walk in and take seating. When we approached employees asking about our situation, they would say they had reservation and already checked in or that this is my first day i have no idea it is not normally like this afterwards they would avoid us at the front. Leaving us and the others who had reservations wondering what is going on with our reserved tables that was clearly not saved for our timeslot. Do not come here There are better restaurants out there that will actually keep track of your reservation and not ignore their customers once they are confronted about their issues.

Dont fall for the cute TikTok videos like I did, this place is garbage. They took forever to take our order and then after we gave our order, didnt even remember to bring our drinks or silverware until our food came 45 minutes later (we had to ask multiple people about the status of our order). On top of that, the waiter asked if we wanted still or sparkling water - we said still, thinking that meant tap water. But no! He brought out a glass bottle of water which cost us $6.50. I saw a separate table get tap water. Why assume we want to pay for water, and NOT at least offer tap as an option? It felt like a cheap move to make our bill bigger. So lame. If theyre just under staffed, the owners need to do better and hire more people. I can forgive an overwhelmed waiter during a busy brunch - but I cant forgive scamming us for water. Never coming back again, and you shouldnt bother. Food was average at best.

This cafe is a niche venue not much widely known. It s tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. Warm ambiance and diverse menu. Easy parking in the serene neighborhood, making the overall experience hassle-free. Lady Byrd Cafe is a must-visit.

We were sat down pretty quickly, but it took a while before anyone came to take our orders. We were sitting where most of the customers were in. We ordered a salmon lox plate and after a long wait for our food, it came with no cream cheese. We waited a bit to see if we can catch the attention of a waiter, but no one was coming around. I walked inside to find someone and asked if they could bring us some cream cheese. I then sat back down at my table. Then after a 10 minute wait they came and told us that they were out. Dont know why you would let someone order a dish when you are missing one of the main ingredients. I also had to walk inside to pay my check as well. We were 1 of maybe 5 other tables so they were not busy.

I had been here 2 years ago and this last time was a major let down. If it wasnt for Miltons superb attitude & dedication to service this place would be getting a 1 star. When we arrived there was a cluster of people after about 10 minutes a lady, I believe the hostess, asked whos next. We all waited our turn and went by who we notice was waiting longest...the only thing was almost every table was empty so the wait was a bit unnecessary and couldve been avoided with a dedicated hostess. (we watched lines like this build up over and over again) We then got sat but in the span of 20 minutes had 3 different people come to our table. The first person was the hostess and we asked her if there were any seasonal specials or pastries, she left to go find out. Another guy came to our table and we asked the same question letting him know we requested water & the specials. We asked him if he knew. He did not and said hed go find out. Next came Milton, who we let know we already ordered twice and asked for the specials but no one returned with either. He said hed go find out, he came back with waters and let us know the specials. I mentioned seeing a chicken and waffle benedicts (which was not mentioned) and he said yes they should have that. We then waited 30 minutes for tea, eggs benedict, pancakes, and a frittata. Our food came in the oddest order, first pancake, then frittata (which was the veggie one instead of the spanish one we ordered - it was covered with salad so we didnt notice right away) then our eggs benedict and after we were half way done with our food came the tea... so this was a bit frustrating. When we got the tea, there was only one cup that came with it, we had to explicitly ask for another mug. My husband is the one who notice the mistake with the Frittata which Milton apologized for and fixed as best as he could. All in all we were a bit disappointed but just figured this team is doing there best and management/operations must be lacking in their communications with them. We werent going to complain or do anything (like this review) but at the very end of our meal some random lady (maybe the manager or owner - we wouldnt know because they never introduced themselves to us) came up to us and asked hows everything? We hesitantly answered alright, when she told us oh no, tell me whats wrong we didnt want to get any one in trouble but we told her a couple things that occurred. She kept prying and asking what else, so we told everything that had gone wrong in the meal, the wait times, no defined server/sections, the mistake with the wrong item being made, the things that just kind of rubbed us the wrong way. And after saying all this and expressing we know theyre doing their best and maybe they need more communication or training and we dont want to complain all she said was, whats the name of your server? like thats it! No apology, no let us make it better... this just rubbed me the wrong way. It was like she just wanted someone to blame. The idea of potentially getting someone in trouble has bothered me since this encounter. Ive sat with writing this review or not and the only reason I am is because I think leadership is failing the staff and customers. Why go up to table and not introduce yourself? Why asked whats wrong if youre not going to make it right? And I hope I did not get this young man into any trouble by mentioning who it was. Milton if you see this, you are golden! You did your best and we appreciate you! We appreciate you taking care of every single table that Sunday morning. We saw how hard you worked and how positive of an attitude you carried. Thank you.

We had Sarah as our server and I believe she said it was her first day which I wouldve never guessed from her impeccable service and friendly demeanor. Definitely recommend taking the trip out for a nice lunch. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs, just a one level primarily outdoor restaurant with a ramp.

Very tasty sandwich while my friend had the grilled Salmon with Sautéed mushrooms, which she enjoyed very much. Just a heads up they DO NOT serve any HARD ALCOHOL, so if you order a drink its going yo be very light more like a refresher. Also, according to the waiter they are very busy for Breakfast, Brunch, & Lunch. For dinner we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Anyway very chill environment will definitely go back again.

We had been wanting to check this place out and stopped in for brunch. Nice seating area. We got the steak and eggs and it was actually quite tasty. We also got the French toast, which was billed as being served with Maple Syrup . When it came out, it was pretty clear that it was generic pancake syrup. I asked the server if it was actually maple syrup, as advertised. He said yes, and then said he would check with the kitchen. He then came back and said yes, it was real maple syrup. I asked if I could see the bottle. When it came out, the bottle was a Sysco Pancake syrup made with 80% corn syrup, a bunch of preservatives and flavorings, and then 20% maple syrup. I made the point that this was pancake syrup and the server asked if it tasted differently. I said yeah, it definitely does, and then politely suggested that they might want to tell the manager that the menu should be changed to say just syrup instead of maple syrup . The server then weirdly got upset, cut me off before I could finish saying what I was saying, and told me that no restaurant serves maple syrup and that it s always just syrup . He then said he s worked in the restaurants for 13 years and this is how all restaurants do it. I was like, no way, I ve been to plenty of restaurants that serve actual maple syrup. He got more worked up and asked if I d ever worked in a restaurant. I have, and I told him that, but that s really not the point. The point is that advertising maple syrup and then serving corn syrup is misleading to the customer. It s not right, and it makes it so people end up with something they paid for but did not receive. I was really surprised how upset the server got about this, and also by how he kept saying, this is how all restaurants do things . That simply isn t true. The menu also mentions 100% grass fed beef, and Mary s free range chickens, which is why we got the steak and eggs. I had to wonder, is that also a lie, the kind of thing you just say on a menu because it sounds better than what you are actually serving? I have no idea, and the steak and eggs at least tasted good, but I didn t even eat the French toast because the syrup was so gross. I hoped they might take it off the bill, but they didn t, and I didn t feel like dealing with the server anymore, so we just paid and left. I hate to leave a bad review for a neighborhood spot that is clearly making some efforts in some regards, but when it comes to advertising one thing but actually serving something else and then claiming it s fine because that s what all restaurants do then I think the criticism is fair and deserved.

Outdoor space is super cute and a nice place to just chill for a second and grab a bite. Was served by TJ tonight, who was working on his own -- even though he was busy, he was personable and attentive, without being overbearing or rushing anyone through their meal. He talks to everyone like theyre a good friend, which is what makes a local cafe like Lady Byrd feel like a part of the neighborhood. Good vibes all around.

Wonderful experience at Lady Byrd Cafe! The food and atmosphere were fantastic. Loved the green juice I ordered. Classic Benedict was also delicious! Would recommend this restaurant as a great place to work from home . All seating is nicely shaded. A few guests had their laptops!

Nice comfy atmosphere. Feels like you are @ home. Terrific menu & great tasting food & mimosas. Staff is very friendly. Vegetarian options: Salads. I had the cobb salad. It was delicious. Parking: You have to find street parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Not too sure. The place is tight, but there is side table to fit your wheelchair, with no problems.

This amazing little cafe was recommended by a friend of ours. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. If youre in LA and want to get away from the hustle and bustle, its a great choice.

The food is really disappointing, but the service and the surroundings are nice. Seems like they put 0 effort into the ingredients. Give you mixed greens like it came straight out of the grocery section for a salad, with no dressing or other vegetables. Like they dont even care at all. No flavor in the sandwiches

Their outdoor tables are set up inside tiny greenhouses spread around the area, which makes for a great atmosphere. Food was delicious. Service a bit slow when we were there, but very friendly.

Great vibe for a place to hang out. They set you up in a little greenhouse that s sized for as little as 2 people or for us, 5 people. Great atmosphere since you get to be outside without being completely outside. Can t hear other people s conversations either! Very impressed. As for food I got the frittata and it just wasn t for me. Not something I d normally go with so I don t fault them for that. I ll go again and have their sandwiches! Espresso was great! And the service for getting refills and our food was great. They don t stop by that often so keep that in mind when ordering.

A little gem in the middle of nowhere. The decor with green houses and outdoor plush seats is genius. Food is great as well as the servers. Cant go wrong with this.

We had two different frigates. The Spanish frigate was great; the vegetarian a bit bland, not surprisingly. Menu is very LA. (Were from out of town.)

Food Aesthetics Service Waiting for someone to take our order was awfully long. we ordered dessert That took over 2 hrs to come out. I went to ask about our food after about 50 min. Of waiting & waitress did not even remember she had taken our order. She not only was rude but wrote on my receipt that I should return & ask for coupons WTH for? Tnx but We re definitely NOT returning!!!

Cute little spot in a residential area. Loved the decor, chairs with blankets, different grandma-esque plates, and little glass huts to divide the parties. Very whimsical. Service was okay, took a while to get order in and drinks came after the food. Food was also just okay. I got the fried egg sandwich and the aioli overpowered everything. Couldnt enjoy the egg or cheese. Son got the salmon benedict, same, just okay. Orange juice tasted store bought. Pancakes were good. The best thing was the creme brulee. We devoured that in seconds! Yogurt was not too tart, so not bad either.

One star for the ambiance. Sitting in a little green house is fun and the decor reminds you of a wealthy grandmas backyard that is bordering on clutter. The bacon burrito had a simple flavor that worked for me. Unfortunately, we ordered a rare steak eggs and the steak came out well done and chewy like the hardened sap of a gum tree. Should have sent it back but the place was starting to get crowded. The salad had too many wilted leaves and the coffee was just fine. Nothing to write home about, but enough to write a Google review.

The service was okay. I think they were either short staff or they had a fault line in their communication. Either way, we waited for more than 20 min for our food to come out, and it s only after we asked how much longer. I had a cold plate and my friend ordered a sandwich. I ve ate here before on a busy afternoon and the food tasted better, and the service was way better. Not sure why it was so vanilla this time. I do recommend the Lemon Poppyseed pancakes, I don t recommend their Lux Salmon plate, as I could have gathered that plate at home since I eat that often, it was so bad. It was so plain and boring. But in the past I ve had their pesto pasta and that was good.

We left hungry. It took 20 minutes for a server to speak with us. He took our orders for lunch. We got our drinks quickly but over the next hour, our food never came. Four times we flagged down restaurant personnel who said they would take care of things. Finally, one of us went to the front and the manager informed us that our order had never been put it. We left. Terrible experience.

Terrible experience here. Sat down for an hour and a half, ordered food and never received it. Just drinks took half an hour the tables next to us were also lamenting on the poor service. We had to leave and they were very unapologetic and just rude about the experience. Would not recommend.

Ive been coming to Lady Byrd since it opened. A few years back I had 5 star experiences, but of late it feels too dense with too many tables in the sheltered space. With more tables/people than before, wait times for the single bathroom can be very long. Unfortunately the wait staff seemed stretched too. That all said, it has a beautiful ambiance outside - if its your first time try to get a private table in the patio and youll have a 4/5 star experience. Food is great.
