This place is nice, beautiful and clean. Loved it! Came in to do some work but didn’t realize they close at 5pm so instead of working, I just ate.
And everything was SOOO delicious. I have many allergies (lactose, preservatives, etc) and this place was the best option I could’ve chosen to walk into.
Honestly would go back and try more items on the menu!!

The place is spacious, beautiful, and has lots of seating. We went to work and it was the perfect chill vibe for it. There’s lots of vegan options. We got a kale salad wrap which was very fresh and a couple tasty pastries. Oat milk late was good too. Parking was easy. Staff was friendly.

The atmosphere is amazing and very calming. There are books for sale inside the restaurant and comfortable seating options. The space is very open and the staff are very accommodating for my food allergies. Vegetarian options: Everything on the menu is vegetarian and very filling. Dietary restrictions: I have a food allergy and they were very accommodating. There are great options for everyone here.

Didnt mean to stop by here but the place I was trying to eat at was closed. So this felt like a string of good luck that I found this place. Loved the vibe of the shop. Loved its seating. Loved how despite this place being mostly vegan they still had regular whole milk (but if you do get oat/almond milk, there is no added cost!). Everything here was just lovely. And I love that its black-owned as well!

This place is a gem! I truly feel like Im at home when I come here. The environment is very welcoming and warm. And of course the coffee and tea is great (my favorite is the raspberry/ hibiscus). I used to stop by everytime I was in the neighborhood because Hot & Cool had Worlds Best Cauliflower Wings! Ive tasted many from various other places & theyre all pretty much the same. But Hot & Cools recipe made it such that I couldnt even eat anyone elses Cauliflower Wings anymore because I knew exactly what they werent giving. Nothing else Vegan hits like the Cauliflower Wings Hot & Cool stripped from their menu. I ordered 20 of their wings each time, because it was enough for my mom too. Id get more if we had to share. I even introduced my cousin, who got them each time she came down from Bakersfield! Unfortunately, Hot & Cool no longer sells the Out Of This World Cauliflower Wings, so theres really no reason for me to stop by. The wraps are alright. The Sole Bowl is good. The Smoothies are good. Desserts are good. But theres nothing else thats an absolutely MUST GET everytime Im within 3 miles. Im still praying they bring the Wings back, so I check the menu periodically. But its been months & no progress whatsoever. My cousin went by last week. She was down from Bakersfield & was nearly heartbroken to learn that her beloved Wings had been clipped from the menu.

It really pains me when Black owned businesses disappoint. After ordering online and heading to pick up our food, the staff were behind the counter being filmed for a tv show. Then, we were nonchalantly told it would be awhile (not eta) for our food and drinks because they were feeding a crew who was filming for tv show as if that was our issue, while still taking online orders and other paying customers were just sitting waiting. Cancelled and left. Do better.

The Hot and Cool Cafe is absolutely wonderful! What a treat for me to go there. I bought their vegan nachos supreme meal, their vegan sliders, and their iced latte. Let me tell you their food is out of this world! Sooo delicious, hearty, and filling I recommend this cafe to go to. A perfect 10! I went there twice in one day when I visited Inglewood, California. I love the bright colors of the restaurant and the lovely energy and vibes they create. I cant wait to stop by the Hot and Cool Cafe on my next trip to Cali!

I love their drip coffee. Really chill place with great vibes. The staff is always kind and friendly. The lentil soup is amazing and they also sell these amazing air fresheners called Do Be Fresh. It s not uncommon to hear live music or poetry. Depending on the day you may even run into a celebrity. I love the hot and cool café. The atmosphere is charging with creativity and positive vibrations. The walls, the floor and everything speaks of cultural pride and The beloved community. The food is simply scrumptious. Everything that I have ordered here brings my taste buds to ecstasy. It s rare for me to eat out and not have to add seasoning. One gets the sense that the food is prepared with tons of love. I recently brought my Texas family here for brunch and they couldn t stop thanking me and singing the praise of their meals. The children had the vegan sliders and consumed everything. The parents got the vegan nachos and fell in love with them and we re thankful for the large portion. My wife got the Soul Bowl, the only thing she wanted was more of it. I ordered the vegan breakfast burrito it was totally satisfying. The family also enjoyed the flavors of their Smoothies they tried to get the recipe to replicate it in Texas. Needless to say, however, I highly recommend The Hot and Cool Cafe in the legendary Leimert Park Village. When you get there tell them Omar sent you.

I LOVE this place. I live in Seattle and only switched to plant based a few months ago, so I just discovered this cafe on a recent visit home, but I now make a point to visit every time I m back in LA. I m from south central and it makes me so proud to see a place like this so close to home, by and for the community. My parents are nowhere near plant based but they ve loved everything they tried here too. This cafe is amazing.

This is a really cool black-owned coffee shop. They had a delicious coffee cake with some caramelized sugar on top I also ordered a latte with 2% milk that was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the Cinnful Latte and it was a standout. She had it with coconut milk and Im not a fan of milk alternatives. BTW, they even allowed my ESA animal in, which I adored. Did I mention they have soaps and shower bombs for sell by a third-party? Cool spot!

Tens across the board I stopped in after a work out with my little sis and we both ordered food. I had to chew with my eyes closed because I couldn t believe my taste buds . Minding my black owned business and came across this jewel! You know the vibe is going to be amazing when you walk in to the owner burning sage. I was amazed at the dope energy in this place! So inviting and truly refreshing! Their menu was short and perfect range feat a few specialities. The place was clean CLEAN and the art on the walls, the floors, and the building added the most fun touch. I ordered a Mocha with Almond-milk and it was truly the best one I ve had since my visit to LA! What a gem of a cafe in the heart of South LA. I can t wait to come back!

Omg! Delicious!!! Nothing, but great things to say. The Vegan Breakfast Bowl and Double Bean Chili w/ White Rice was off the mf chain!! Omg! I had these items for a very late breakfast, so brunch and everything was amazing. The bowl did have soggy lettuce and soft potatoes, but I honestly didnt mind. I ordered delivery through GrubHub, so it makes sense that the food is a lil soggy. Food was still hot and soo dam good. The orange sauce mixed in with the food was a great touch as well. A good sauce can go along way with a great meal. I absolutely loved it! I had some for my brunch, then later today for dinner. Chili beans could have had some seasoning to it, it was dry in that department, but the bean sauce and white rice made up for it. Delicious! I had some for brunch and the rest later for dinner with some purple and blue takis. Absolutely delicious restaurant, would definitely be back. Im disappointed that I didnt get my Ginger Carrot loaf, but I got a refund, so thats good. Ill order it again next time and hopefully I get it then. Edit: 2/24/2021 2/5 stars Wasnt for me. The Cauliflower Wings werent as seasoned as I assumed they would be. The inside was very fresh and only the outside has seasoning. I didnt even taste the lemon pepper rub, only pepper. Wings arent something I would get again. Too fresh and not seasoned enough for my liking. I didnt care for the Kale either, but the ranch was yummy. But, not yummy enough to sugarcoat my distaste for the Cauliflower Wings. The Vegan Ginger Carrot Mini Loaf was very good!! I hate ginger, but anything Carrort Cake is a delight. I was too lazy to warm it up in my toaster oven, but the loaf was still very good, best part of my order!! Even though the Cauliflower Wings wasnt my cup of tea and I only enjoyed the dessert, Ill be back one more time for their Vegan Soul Bowl :) Edit: 2/26/2021 3/5 stars The Soul Bowl is a beautiful sight to see. You got the Collard Greens, Mac and Cheese, BBQ chicken, and White Rice. I love Greens, very good vegetable, but I wasnt feeling it during this platter. It wasnt disgusting, just wasnt rocking with my tastebuds. Mac and Cheese is gross, not something I appreciate. I dont like Mac and Cheese periodt, so I didnt expect to like the vegan version, hahaha. But, the BBQ chicken hhhmmmm! That was my favorite part. It deadass tasted like BBQ chicken and combined with the White Rice was very delicious. You can never go wrong with chicken and rice. Overall, the contents in the bowl werent my favorite, but I didnt hate it. BBQ chicken and White Rice absolutely smacks while the Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens werent something I enjoyed. June 28, 2021 --------------------------------- 3/5 stars The Vegan Breakfast Bowl didnt taste the best compared to the first time I had it. Cant really describe it besides that it was alright this time around. The bowl tasted pretty much the same, but didnt have that hot pizzaz as before. The avocado was an add-on, but tasted better without it. Now I know, but I still ate half of the bowl, nevertheless. The desserts are an ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTMENT! The Carrot Cake Loaf looks like it has been sitting out/under a lamp for a whilleeee. It didnt have the best taste. The white icing which Im guessing is supposed to be cheesecake icing was terrible, and texture is forgettable. The Mixed Berry Bar is honestly whatever. I had two bites and all I was really getting from the flavors were invisible and berries, hahaa. Theres a lot of berries in the bar, hence the name. And lastly, the Pecan Blondie Bar had potential, but it got too oily for my liking. After breaking the bar in half and consuming it that way, the bar started tasted oily and greasy. And the frosting on top was definitely not fresh, it was flat. The only thing that was my favorite out of this whole meal is the Breakfast Bowl.

This was a welcome find in my community. Stopped in for coffee with a friend. Tables set a comfortable distance apart, clean and colorful interior and friendly and helpful staff. R&B music playing (volume could have been a little lower to make having a conversation easier to hear.) My first visit but not my last. Ordered the Cauliflower Wings with lemon pepper seasoning served on a bed of kale and a creamy sauce cupped on the side. Oh my goodness it was delicious. DELICIOUS!!! I also ordered a Hot latte with almond milk (preferred choice) vanilla, honey and maple syrup. My coffee fix for the day. I also had a carrot loaf cake (not the full name; next time Ill order it warmed a little.) As we did order to eat there having it served warmed on a little paper plate would have made a better presentation. They have been in business for 3 years, and I wish them much success, and long and prosperous stay. Looking forward to my next visit with a friend.

Well I wasnt actually at the restaurant. I was at the community fridge which is situated outside of the restaurant. I must say that I am soooooo proud of this community. The fridge was completely full. I honestly didnt have much room to store the food that I had donated. Keep up the good work Leimert Park!!!!

This place is amazing I am a trucker driver on the eastcoast I stopped here in August 2019 and have a beautiful experience. Every since then I would make it my business to get a load in the area just so I can stop by the cafe and this isn t my region I work at all. On another note The owner and staff are friendly. They too have creative such an environment filled with positive energy, love, joy, peaceful. I mean as soon as you walk in the door it s like walking into the realms of Heaven. The food you can taste the love in every bite. Highly recommended !!!!

Please please please update the place, food is amazing but the inside looks as if theyve moved in furniture from everyones garage that visits the place. Theres this really gross looking couch that sits by the staircase, I wouldnt want anyone I know & love to sit on it, very offputting, but again the food is great.

This is one of the few cafes I will go out of my way to get to. This is a prime spot for me meeting colleagues after work. Seating is generous. The food selection is thoughtful as it encompasses the spectrum of popular diets. It is a little pricey, but its not a cafe so youre supporting a small business and helping it thrive when you make a purchase here.

One of my favorite places in Leimert Park. Their bean soup calls me all the way from Hawthorne just for a bowl. The fresh juices are amazing as well. Atmosphere, music, food, the buzz of multigenerational energies. This place is the heartbeat of Leimert Park. Best place ever.

Was in the area and popped in for coffee and juice with my friend. The juice was $10, for a bottle of juice, not even 500ml. Little insanely priced, we were very suprised as we wanted to check out the spot. Ended up just getting the coffee and leaving.

Today I took my children and myself for an early dinner and the service I received was exquisite. The staff really cares about their customers and the food was excellent as usual. We will surely be back!

Love the atmosphere. Find like minded concious folk in here. Music. The snicker doodles (warmed up) and hot chocolate are yummy. The tuna melt on rye is my go to.

My wife and I had one of our most enjoyable evenings out at this beautiful coffee house! The drinks were amazing (I had a Golden Milk--coconut milk with turmeric, cinnamon and ginger!), and the folks here are genuine, open, welcoming, and warm-hearted! Then Tori popped in and invited us to go two doors down to hear some amazing jazz that included none other than Barbara Morrison whos other-worldly voice transported us to realms beyond this earthly plane!

The Soul Bowl was delicious. The beautiful and cavernous space had great energy early on a Saturday morning, with a piano tuner s music competing with the babies talking to their parents and the jazz playing on the sound system.

Love this place! The food is great and there are some Sundays and Wednesdays you can catch Rickie Byars (former choir director of Agape Spiritual Center) sing some of her great songs! Great atmosphere and worth checking out!
