Been eating from tartine origin bakery in SF, gladly waiting in line for the impeccable pastries. Loved it when it so briefly opened as Manufactory in RowDTLA and as they ve opened up all over LA so, for me there s no doubting the products, though it has for sure lost its taste soul. generic and unchangeable corporate soundtrack (of shite) blaring out algorithmic blandness, set to just loud enough to be irritating, is a little baffling to me. But more baffling was the unspeakably hostile barista - who, weirdly enough was pretty mean last time I was there. I could literally feel his contempt - manifesting as acute indifference - rolling off him in waves. Erm, what did I do to offend..?! But then I watched his treatment of other customers and he s just the same. The rest of the staff are again completely indifferent, humorless and disconnected - less hostile perhaps. So, next time I find myself having to shell out $100+ for my family outing, I ll just go to Proof, Milo & Olive, Sqrl, god knows there s a million other personably run, beautiful and original bakeries in this city. My mistake. I m the sucker.

STICK TO THE PASTRIES + BREAD!! This is the least overwhelming location I ve been to but also the worst. Service was lackluster and the food compared to its price point was criminal. You could taste the burnt espresso in the latte, while it s like $1.50 extra for oat milk?! I had to clean my own table and retrieve my own drinks from the counter because the staff was just chatting in the corner.

I come here for the bread, which is a solid OKAY BUT NOT AMAZING; this location is closest to me and I can buy huge bags of my favorite ground beans next door at sightglass so that explains why I come here; but what kind of bakery that sells whole loaves of bread doesnt have any option to slice them, then looks at you like (AND SPEAKS TO YOU AS IF) you are stark raving mad for asking. Yes, slicing bread, thats such an insane request, right, whats next, asking for coffee beans to be brewed, or cold food to be heated? The audacity! Maybe most of the people who come here are hotel guests or nearby restaurants, so for some reason maybe they thought they would never receive a request to slice a loaf of bread, but I know its possible at other locations, so its unique to this location, but its their fault not mine, yet rather than apologetic theyre rude.

The sourdough bread is great. The price of $14/loaf should include the option of having it sliced, right? Nope, not here. It is One of the best breads in the city. Being Italian and Coming from Toronto where there are so many great bakeries, L.A was tough to find decent quality bread w healthy ingredients at the grocery stores. Tartine solved that. Here is the issue, for a full loaf, which costs $14 USD now, they dont slice the bread. Even the average bakery has a slicer. Please consider equipping your locations with slicers. It doesnt seem reasonable to have to buy the half loaf $10 x 2 = $20 to get them sliced. Bring your patience to wait and find parking here.

Dropped by Tartine for a meeting/work session and to grab lunch. We came at the perfect time, no line, lots of tables and spaces (minimal outlets) but overall great place to grab a coffee or lunch and chat with a friend. The pasty display is gorgeous and there is a ton of variety. We got salmon lox and a green goddess salad with chicken (which was cooked and seasoned perfectly) a simple spot with the focus on the quality of the food - which is outstanding. Vegetarian options: Salads, tartines, coffee/drink options Dietary restrictions: Offers different plant based milks and salads

We had a last minute meeting at the office nearby. Our director loves everything Tartine so the decision to have a small Tartine breakfast spread was a no brainer. I called and talked to Jony, the manager, about the size and scope of a potential order. Jony was professional, courteous, and had a full grasp of the scope of our order for about 10-12. Jony gave me his number and told me to feel free to reach him any time once I figured out the order. Later that day, I sent a message to Jony and worked with him on an order that satisfied our meeting. When I arrived at 8am, my order was nearly ready to go. I grabbed the freshly baked pastries and yogurt and chia pudding cups. By that time, my order was in bags and ready to go. Its safe to say this order was a complete success. Everyone raved about the delicious pastries, chia pudding, quiche, and toast and jam. The potatoes, eggs, and bacon was an extra detail we included that made everyone feel right at home. Jony went above and beyond to make this order happen. He really saved the day, thank you very much to Jony and the rest of the team at this location. I look forward to coming in for a morning bun soon!

I was attending an event at SiriusXM and the staff recommended this place for lunch. So pretty much most of the attendees went to this place for lunch to mingle with each other. I was following along with the crowd. I was so busy talking that I didnt pay a lot of attention to read the menu while I was waiting in line. This is like a cafe kind of place. I glanced at the menu and realized nothing was cheap here. Since I had to spend a lot anyway, I decided to order something that I like. I got the smoked salmon tartine. Its like $17.95 on the menu which I think is quite a bit especially when I got the order and see that it literally is a piece of toast with smoked salmon on it. The portion is really not much. The smoked salmon tasted good though. I also got to try the salad that another attendee ordered. It was fresh as well. I would have to say the food itself is good but the price is high. But maybe thats the ongoing rate for this area. Afterwards, I looked at the recipe and I was charged like $20 something dollars. There is an employee benefits charge of $0.82 and then tax on top of that. So be careful if you are the kind that would like to save money. This is not your place. If you are the kind that enjoys good food and dont care how much you pay for it, this is your place.

The food was not good, my dish tasted like burnt oil, really disappointing, the breakfast sandwich was very greasy and saturated, the omelette had no flavor at all, we didnt like the drinks, the pumpkin latte is very sweet 3 drinks and it was enough , if you like very sweet things you might like it, the matcha is very bad, the only thing we liked that is why it has 2 stars was the bread, the croissant was very well made, with good technique and good flavor, the morning bun very sweet but not in a bad way, it was very delicious, we would return for the bread and nothing else.

Used to be better. The ingredients and taste have totally gone DOWNHILL. Things look great, though most pastries are too dark - the French would say burnt. The banana cream pie whipped cream tastes like grocery store. How easy is blending grocery store heavy cream + sugar + vanilla which makes a superb whipped cream!?? I always got the quiche which was buttery and sublime. Today I got it and (see pic) it s really a spinach pie not a quiche. Very little egg which used to be a highlight - it was sooo buttery and full fat cream-creamy At least the crust is still kinda special and super flaky. Menu says Gruyere cheese and my first bite I thought what is this? It tastes and has the mouth feel of cheap plastic American cheese! Whaa!?! On the way out I mentioned it to the manager who was totally cool..explained that they make in-house which IS the problem. A baked goods restaurant is NEVER going to do good cheese let alone Gruyère, which is best aged. Sadly, the owner probably wants to make more. They ve raised prices as everyone has but if it doesn t taste worth it The owner knows full well how to make sublime food because he did it for the first coupon years this place was open! Shame. Won t bother with this place anymore :( The setting is still wonderful and I love this little block it s on. But the now 3-ish stars it has now on Google reviews is for good reason. Oh, and the waiter outside doesn t carry a cleaning towel, instead I watched him use the partially used napkin from the dirty used dishes a customer had left behind to barely wipe the table lol

More for more ham and cheese croissants Back again, ham and cheese croissants again, tried something new this time - chia pudding, was OK Stopped by again for breakfast, besides the ham and cheese croissant, tried a morning bun. Both were delicious and above Average. Recommended. Raising rating from 3 to 4 Stopped by for a breakfast snack. Doors opened late at 08:05, service at counter was below average, counter person only asked whether it s for dine in or take out. Not asking or offering to heat up the ham and cheese croissant, not offering a beverage, no Nepkins offered. Makes you think about recruiting and training standards here.. The croissant was a little greasy but delicious. Above average for sure. I ll come back to explore more options soon.

I wanted to treat myself to a nice solo breakfast so I knew going in that this bakery/cafe was going to be on the pricier side but I still cringed at the total once I added sausage to my breakfast sandwich. That being said the food here speaks for itself and the flavor defends the price. The sandwich tastes as good as it looks, and judging by the pastries, they also look really well crafted. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the sweets! The cafe is also just really pretty and a good spot if you wanna get some work done while treating yourself to a nice breakfast.

Tartines focus is their bakery and excellent pastry options. This location is spacious with ample seating, a slight Mediterranean feel, and really shines as a casual breakfast or brunch location. While not their focus, the coffee game here is decent. Parking is definitely a challenge in this area and is primarily street parking. It seems for the time being you can park in the same building for free which is nice. Definitely would come back with a few friends for good hangs and conversation. Parking: Street Parking is definitely a challenge. You may be able to park in the same building for free though.

My partner and I visited Tartine s location on N. Sycamore in search of croissants and pastries. We both consider ourselves connoisseurs of croissants - we ve had really great ones in Paris and obviously what you get here in the States can t compare and are a bit hit or miss. I love the space inside - with multiple fireplaces and plenty of places to sit, it s a great place to enjoy your baked goods and coffee courtesy of the Coffee Manufactory. We picked up a baguette, plain croissant, pain au chocolat, morning bun and pain au jambon (ham & gruyere croissant). Unfortunately we were both disappointed. Putting aside the relatively high prices of each item aside ($5 for a plain croissant?) the buttery flavor was lacking and each tasted a bit over salted. The croissants were also a tad overdone - which is totally okay if you like that sort of thing - but it didn t suit us. All to say, while I do like the space, I don t think I ll be returning here for my croissants.

This Tartine is located on a pretty quiet street and even though the inside dining room is pretty roomy, and they have the post-pandemic outdoor patio set up on the street, its really nice that they have the breezeway area as well. Great ambiance for a meal with friends or a business meeting. There are lots of seating options that can be quite private. No wifi but plenty of places to sit where there is access to an outlet for charging. Also, I really like the bathroom set up and that area is always tidy. The staff are chill and pleasant and not too in your face or over the top, which I appreciate. I have seen the same crew for the most part hang in all through the pandemic and I think that they are a big part of why this place never felt like it underwent a huge change in 2020. Its nice to have felt like I could count on always seeing the same people here, especially during a time when SO many things in our lives were always changing. The coffee is always great and the menu is delicious and the food, to me, always stays consistent. If I order the morning bun on Monday, its a carbon copy on Friday. I am really glad they opened in my neighborhood and I enjoy being a regular here.

My weekly Sesame loaf, stays fresh all week and the sour dough whole wheat is out of this world. The sesame crust tops off the loaf. Ordering online with ease and easy pickup inside the store. This is for Tartine Sycamore in LA. This Sunday bread purchase is a staple of my diet.

So amazing Tartine is in LA! The bakery isn t as cute as the SF one but the patio is lovely. As always, some of the best desserts ever the lemon poppyseed tea cake and lemon tart are mouth watering. Unfortunately, horrible coffee for some reason.

Food is good. Service needs a lot of work! I ordered a mimosa, mostly orange & a splash of FLAT Prosecco. I complained about it & bartender said he added an appropriate shot and the explanation for the flat Prosecco is that it was their last bottle. People that ordered after us got their order before all of ours was delivered. Tartine Sycamore needs some training from Tartine Santa Monica on how things should be done.

This place is Wonderful. I had the omlette and a regular latte and I wasnt disappointed at all. The prices are fair in my opinion and service is amazing I believe they just opened Ill definitely be coming back here in the future. They do have a lot of seating available for dine in and are following guidelines to make people feel safe.

I liked the vibe of the place. Breakfast is like $20. Nice options for bread. Seating is outside due to covid but lot of options as they took a whole lane. Morning bun was good. Salmon Tartine was nice. Small portions for the price you pay. I wasnt very full.

Great breakfast sandwich on a yam bun. Aji sauce for the crispy potatoes is good. Quiche was great as well, eggs were nice and curdly. Otherwise, you can get your standard Tartine bread and baked goods here. Cento pizzeria pop up here as well.

Everything was perfect at Tartine as you would expect. But I have a word of warning so you can avoid the confusion we experienced today. Close to the Tartine front door is a walk up window. This window is NOT Tartine! However they sell coffee and pastries so it might not be clear to you like it wasnt to us. We ordered two croissants and coffee at this other non-Tartine establishment and then sat at the Tartine outdoor tables and ate. My husband even said to the lady at the walk up window, yall hooked us forever when we went to the Manufactory in San Francisco, so happy you are in LA now, we visit here often. The lady replied, thats great! :-| Literally the only way we learned of our mistake was that I decided to buy coffee beans so I said, hey, lets go inside and see what kind of beans they sell. I asked the employee at the counter what coffee their order window used for cappuccino and he said, oh, we dont have an order window, thats another company next door. Wow. Ok! That explains why they sold spam and cheese croissants at the walk up window rather than the expected jambon! Anyway, the other establishment was good but Tartine is perfect. Believe it. Heres a photo of what we ended up buying and taking home from Tartine (morning buns, plain croissant, jambon croissant, apple butter hand pie). And (not pictured), a country loaf.

Came for brunch with a party of three and a baby. Food came out at sporadic intervals, first to arrive a side order of eggs for one person, 5 min later a quiche for another, 7 min later salad for first person, 10 min later (when other two are almost done eating) burnt French toast for third person. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. We are not ones to complain, but the service was completely off the mark. Unfortunately you pay gratuity when ordering, before being served... The $5 croissant was a hit with the baby.

Pretty perfect breakfast spot. Breads are fantastic. House cured salmon is succulent. Eggs are perfect. Whether soft scramble or omelette or fried. Space is beautiful. And they re very sweet to doggos. Salmon skin dog treats. And coffee is great.
