We came here on a whim while we waited to do karaoke across the street, and Erick gave us great service, he was really welcoming and kind. The food was really fast, and quite good. I seriously would come here just for the chips

The food is garbage here. Ive eaten here before, never been impressed but still decided to order thru Uber Eats yesterday. I got the buy one get one free Lobster sandwich. I should have know no good lobster sandwich would ever be buy one get one. The sandwich tastes horrible to say the least. It was either spoiled or they used cheap, fake imitation meat. I called the store to complain and was told by the manager Desiree that there is nothing she could do. So I guess they are cool with serving their customers crap as long as they get paid. I spent $27 and didn t even eat it. Beware!

I hesitated for a moment before going in because I thought it was a bigger cafe. The pictures are a bit misleading. Unfortunately there are hardly any seats inside. The menu is very big, I had a vegan scrambler and a latte. Really delicious. Very friendly staff too. Ill definitely go back again during my vacation. The second time Ive been there, I ordered the breakfast sausage. Since this is marked with VA it means, that you can order it as vegan. Im still not sure if they made it vegan. If so: the egg and the cheese looked and tasted really authentic. Also the tater tots, not sure what was in there, but its consistency and the taste were pretty much the same as fish sticks.. So for vegans: maybe ask twice that its vegan; for the LA Café: if it was vegan, it was amazing!! Vegetarian options: The vegan ones are marked with a V or VA if there is a vegan option available. Since the menu lists all ingredients, and shows which ones have meat in it, it is completely fine imho.

Last night I had the worst experience in my life at this restaurant. The dude in the front was purposefully being a doche to customer I never witness such disrespect or blatant disregard for customer service. I think this guy wants to get fired. Wow just wow!

Tonight had my first experience at your establishment, and regrettably, it will also be my last. The moment I stepped through your doors, I was met with an unprofessional demeanor that and completely overshadowed any potential enjoyment of my visit. The staff member at the front was not only dismissive but showed a lack of interest in providing even the basic level of service. I walked out I refuse to give my money to a business with this lack of commitment to their customers.

I havent ordered from here in a while, so when I placed my order, I was genuinely excited. However, my enthusiasm quickly dissipated the moment I arrived. The man at the front counter couldnt have been ruder; it was as if his demeanor was calibrated to make me feel unwelcome. When I walked in, he was on the phone, so I patiently waited, thinking he would wrap up his conversation shortly. After two minutes of standing there, I raised my phone to show him my order number, hoping to expedite the process. Instead of acknowledging me, he frowned as if I had interrupted a critical discussion, held up his hand dismissively, and told me to calm down. I was flabbergasted at such an overt display of disrespect, particularly in an establishment where customer service should be a priority. As I stood there, I couldnt help but notice my food order just sitting there, getting cold. In any decent establishment, a polite employee would ask the caller to hold for a moment while attending to waiting customers. After waiting another five minutes, I mustered up the courage to speak again, only to be shushed and told loudly that he was on the phone. If I hadn t already paid for my meal, I would have left without a second thought. The mans laughter during his phone call felt like a slap in the face, emphasizing how little my presence mattered to him. When I asked if I could simply retrieve my order, he flatly refused, insisting that I wait. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he hung up the phone. I showed him my order number once again, choosing to remain silent to avoid further escalation. That s when he, with an air of entitlement, aggressively informed me that he was on an important call. Clearly, he believed that paying customers took a backseat to his conversation. The entire encounter left a sour taste in my mouth, and I couldnt even enjoy the food I had been looking forward to. It s disheartening to feel so disrespected and unwanted in a place that should prioritize its customers. I sincerely hope they reevaluate their approach to customer service, as this experience was far from acceptable.

We ate a cheesesteak and a pesto panini which came with complimentary chips that were super good Downtown LA has no shortage of shady characters some of which you get to watch rummage through trash cans in front of the restaurant. Top tier people watching A great spot overall and worth braving the dtla zombies.

There are plentiful vegan options which is why I choose to eat here with a pescatarian. The vegan patty melt is made with Impossible meat and vegan cheese. The fries are plentiful and seasoned well. I m not a fan of the ketchup. It took a reasonable amount of time to be prepared. Just know that there isn t much inside seating. We ate outside at one of their tables. We were even offered free smoothies because another customer made a mistake when ordering. How nice! Vegetarian options: It s clear which items don t have meat or animal byproducts. Comes with a bag of chip - yum Fruit was fresh and crisp - yum Lattes had too much mocha, there was a bunch at the bottom and tried to mix but it became so heavy cant even taste the espresso and has chocolate drizzle on the inside of the cup, too much. Extra -1 for no public restroom Also they have out door seating, they have it on the street and like a patio but the patio is weird couldnt tell if it was closed off or not and surrounded by these planters that are approx. Hip high that are spaced so together like a barrier. No wait, helped immediately, its a takeout spot from what the experience was.

The lady who took our orders was super nice!! I got a chipotle chicken burrito - 10/10, lumberjack pancakes - 9/10 needs some pepper, and the cheesy egg sandwich - 5/10 they forgot the cheese. I m traveling with my gran who has quite a few dietary restrictions and while they did make everything gluten free which is great, they did however grease the bread when asked not to and forgot the cheese so it was just egg and bread. Otherwise, I love my food so much and the coffee was great.

I had their tuna melt a long time ago and it was delish. My ultra nice co-worker, who recently promoted, treated us to sandwiches ordered for delivery from here. Its been a while since I have had anything from LA Café so I had her order for me. She got me the lobster and cheese panini. The sandwich was still warm when it arrived. Being that it was delivered, the bread was already soft. It would be awesome to eat it on site as I know it would be toasted outside and soft in the middle. Its a big sandwich, thankfully it was cut in half. I felt full with just the half. We also got a bag of kettle fried chips- my fave. This cafe is located on the busy Spring St. of DTLA, its a small cafe with nice employees. They offer delivery within a 3 mile radius, which most of the employees from our company take advantage of. You can t have it delivered because it s not going to be as hot. Man when you take a bite when it s just finished; it s like the 4th of July in your mouth. Yes I know the cliche. Lol. Took a look at some pictures on Google of the food. We decided to give it a try. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and the wifey ordered a chicken pesto sandwich. I would say after trying both, I would highly recommend this place. They are both good items, but in my opinion, I would definitely go back and order the breakfast burrito with the chicken sausage it was kind of strange to me that they dont offer bacon here but let me tell you that apple wood chicken sausage complements that burrito. Thank you, staff, for the recommendation and for being so patient and friendly.

Took a long stroll to find this place after hearing such great reviews. It was obvious they have their regulars and a fair share of people to come in as they got really busy. It is more or less a walk-up counter with display cases for pastries and grab-and-go sides and beverages (several healthy options, fruit, Kombucha, juices, etc.). The seating is very limited with four (4) counter stools inside by the window and a few sidewalk tables outside. It took a while to receive the food after ordering, but certainly worth the long wait. They gave me the wrong flavored pastry and no syrup for my waffles. When I looked inside the bag I thought I saw the syrup but realized it was actually ketchup when I got to the hotel. I am just visiting here and there was no syrup provided at my hotel. As far as the pastry Im not super picky usually so I just took the raspberry they already wrapped up and put in the bag. Chicken tenders kind of reminded me of the frozen nuggets you get at Walmart instead of actual chicken tenders. Other than that my friend enjoyed his burger and the fries were good. The atmosphere was cool inside, outside needed more upkeep.

For a place I had always experienced somewhat packed every time I walked by it in the past , I only stopped in to get a snack and something to drink because it was desolate and there would be no waiting . And thankfully , there wasnt. The danish could have been softer , but it was good nonetheless. Where I really rate these places is when I order milk . Some places automatically fail because they dont offer milk , even if its to sell me a cup from their kitchen fridge for an @b$urd $12 or something. But this place did offer milk on their menu. In a cup. 2%. And for the price of $3.50 ..... Which I suppose could have been cheaper , right ? But its on par with the areas median milk prices (some 24 hour convenience store around the corner from here sold me a half gallon for almost $9 a few weeks back at 4 in the monin ..... Convenient for who, right ?). But the milk from L.A. CAFE was icy cold , served nicely in a cup and presented classy with a straw....so my semi complaints end at the price . The girl who served me and helped me at the register couldnt have been cuter and more attentive if she wanted to ....so the overall experience is one I would recommend if ever in downtown and need grub and you want to support local small businesses . LA Café all the way ! Parking: Its a headache . use blinkers and another soul in the car if youre picking food up . if youre dining in , be prepared to pay upwards of $5 to self park . Wheelchair accessibility: All there . its all there .

I wanted to like LA Café, badly. Whatever you do, stay away from ordering sandwiches on a baguette . That supposed baguette is among the worst I have had in my life...it was dry, stale and chewy in a bad way. I had an egg sandwich in the baguette and I Just couldnt finish it, the baguette bread was that bad. Also stay clear of the croissant . It is not a real croissant, but a cheap white bread in the shape of a half moon. No real butter, no flakiness..just pure chewiness that reminds me of Subways yoga matt infused breads. Yikes. Other than that I had an Angus beef sandwich the night before in its original panini bread, and it was absolutely fantastic. The beef was tender and juicy, the panini bread was delicious, toasted on the outside and soft inside My advice to the owners, stick to what you do well and eliminate breads (French from what I know) that are subpar. I included a picture of LA Cafes excellent Panini

The service was good but the food was just ok, friendly staff in an extremely small Cafe that is best for take out especially that there are no restrooms available for guests. The fish and chips were just ok in my opinion but I would be willing to try other items from the menu, the bakery were delicious though. They recommended the lobster grilled cheese but I wasnt in the mode for that, maybe if Im the area again Ill give it a try. I would recommend this spot as a late night alternative to the big chains that are open 24 hours. Vegetarian options: Saw a veg option on the menu. Parking: May have to circle the block a few times to find nearby street parking or pay a good amount at a public lot. Kid-friendliness: Not a place to take kids at night, downtown L.A. is not the safest of areas.

The place doesn t provide area to wash hand. Also, there is no tray to use while dining in. The omelette was below average. I will not come again to this place.

The barista is also the cashier so he is quick and focused. I got a cookie and a Thai iced tea. Service was awesome. His small talk made my morning.

just order online, wont recommend dine in. Parking alone is more expensive than delivery. Environment is non-existent. Parking: Parking nearby is about $15.

My boyfriend and I were there and we ordered the lobster grilled cheese and it was excellent. When I first came in a gentleman was at the counter and I asked if I could use the restroom, he kindly took me back and let me use the restroom while we waited for food, we dined in. When we were about to leave another gentleman who said he was the owner was at the front desk area and my boyfriend asked if he could use the restroom (you have to get a key)the gentleman was like we dont let people use the restroom in here and its been like that for years. My boyfriend proceeded to say my girlfriend just used the bathroom when we came in. He acted like he didnt believe him. He proceeded to say that he was the owner and acted like we were attacking him saying that we were being mean because we questioned why we just spent $50 in your business and you wont let your customers use the restroom. Needless to say it didnt end well. We had words and will never go back there again.

Late Night Spot: When I m not getting hibachi burritos from @bachiyaki_la, I m getting the lobster grilled cheese + tomato soup from @thelacafe. They used to be 24hrs but, since covid, it s only open until 3am (which is still 1hr later than Bachi Yaki). They have a pretty extensive menu, and you can order online. They don t have a bathroom though and seating is pretty limited (still more than most food trucks), but solid for carry out after the clubs close. I slide my lil order in online and it s a pretty swift transaction.

Honestly disappointed.. order a Caesar salad, sandwhich and tomato soup around 2 am, they close at 3.. they gave me some sort of black bean soup instead of tomato.. I m allergic to black bean they could have just said they were out and doordash would have refunded me.. so that s lame. The salad also honestly is so mid.. sandwhich is very average and dry.. idk I was really looking forward to this place I ve heard awesome things
