Slight wait i arrive anytime past 10AM. The service is good, bathrooms are clean, and they also do parking validation up to 90 mins. The food, specifically country fried steak & eggs is amazing. One of the best ones I ve had in the area! Parking: Free parking validation up to 90 mins.

Iconic staple since the 1930s. Pretty straightforward American menu, seating is limited inside, and cannot accommodate more than six people parties. We tried several dishes based on the recommendations from the staff, and I must say that the waffles are a clear winner. Great taste, very flavorful, fluffy inside but crispy on the outside. Well come back for this alone. The young lady who helped us out was super friendly, very accommodating, and a pleasure to speak to. Although the only parking is a garage parking, its literally right next to it, and easy to get in and out of. Plus they cover validation. The corned beef hash was also very good, not greasy, the hash browns were crispy and thin. Kid-friendliness: Somewhat. Limited space. Wheelchair accessibility: Its a tight squeeze in there.

Its a very popular destination for breakfasts. People were waiting on chairs outside. We got our table within 10 minutes. All waiters who served us were very friendly and efficient. The food arrived within ten minutes or less and was very good. The prices are quite typical for the Pasadena area. Parking: Parking ticket validation is available at the restaurant.

Parking: Parking on same block takes validation. Parking may be difficult to find depending on how busy old town is. Kid-friendliness: Staff is great!! My daughter has a sensibility to loud noises.....an ambulance passed by outside and she started sobbing. A staff member came over did some magic tricks and cheered her up. I truly appreciate their attentiveness to their customers.

Russell s definitely a must for breakfast in Pasadena! We were visiting from the South Bay and wanted to have breakfast prior to walking at Huntington Library. My husband had the Denver omelette and I had the French toast with eggs and bacon. I requested fresh strawberries which they happily accommodated my request. We waited an hour for our booth, but it was well worth it! Stop by this historic site for a bite!

Russell s is an iconic diner in Old Pasadena, California. It has good food, great staff and it s been around since the 1930 s. The restaurant has your classic old school interior with comfortable booths for two to four people and bright red barstools for those in search of the diner experience. It doesn t hurt that the restaurant has great artwork hung throughout and a timeless charm that makes it a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists alike. The menu at Russell s features a variety of American classics, ranging from big breakfasts to delicious burgers with decadent desserts creating a willing lineup of people waiting to get their favourite dishes. On weekend mornings, you can expect a lively crowd eager to enjoy their famous pancakes and omelettes. Kid-friendliness: This place is everybody friendly, especially family s looking for quality food and drinks. Wheelchair accessibility: This place is prepared to serve everyone who comes in for food. It s old school but the staff are ready to accommodate you in any way shape or form.

Russells is awesome. I looove their banana pancakes for some reason. I never order it anywhere else but at Russells its what i alwaays get. Our server was also amazing! I was telling MY FRIENDS (not the server) that the hash browns are yummy when theyre super crispy - and mine ended up coming out crispier?!? Im not sure if it was intentional but im pretty sure it was. He was very observant. My friend and I decided to share an order and it came out split in half, on two separate plates (which we didnt request specifically). We also ordered one order of communal pancakes for the table and of course when they came they were: split, halved, all separately plated with syrups for each. It was soo thoughtful!!! I m not a morning person, but having such an amazing breakfast with thoughtful service started my day off with a bundle of joy. :) Russells is a classic that has a permanent place in my food lovin heart!

Long overdue review. Been coming here for over a decade now. The staff, every single one of them, are warm, welcoming, and go the extra mile for everyone. The food is so consistently on point without fail. Get the waffle-best in the world. As dinners should go-this place has the classic booths and bar seating, great art on the walls, and always good music in the background. Parking is easy. My only complaint is a selfish one, and that is I wish they were open 24/7. 10 out of 10.

Absolutely Charming restaurant with delicious food! The Cheeseburgers are my favorite! It s sooo good! Nice large thick patty that sits perfectly on the buttery crisp yet soft bun! Grilled to perfection! Fresh generous fixings the tomato s were perfect , the onion not to thick or over powering , the lettuce cool and crisp , the pickles yummy! They are generous with the cheese that perfectly compliments the burger and the home made 1000 island they put on the burgers was the best! Generous portion of golden crisp fries and several condiments on the table to choose from! The Ultimate burrito was huge and stuffed with everything you could want in a breakfast burrito! Eggs, sausage, bacon , potato s, cheese , avocado , onion it could feed 2 and it came with golden hash browns! The lemonade was great tart with a hint of sweet! Very refreshing! I am a water with lemon or lime drinker big time and my only complaint was of their water. It was deplorable and they did not have any bottle water at the time or for whatever reason I asked if I could get bottle water because the water I was given had a not so good taste. They said that was the water they had and brought me a different cup but there was no difference. I am not very picky about my water so I assure you it did not taste well at all and I did not care for the oh well attitude about it. That was my only issue but it had me take 1 star off. Overall the service was friendly and quick (minus water issue) the food was delicious and it was ok priced! 3 of us ate and had soda or lemonade m for $52 and that was with a generous tip! It s more than what we would have paid 6 months ago by at least $10-15 but that s pretty much everywhere you go! They have quite a decent selection of breakfast and lunch options not sure about dinner or if they are opened for dinner. I think they close at 2.

RUSSELLS American classic breakfast restaurant since 1930s 30 N Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena, CA US Average price per person $20-$25 · The first stop on my US trip this summer 2024 will be Los Angeles. · The first breakfast has to be the authentic American Big Plate. · Staying in the quiet Pasadena, just a few minutes walk to the famous Russells in the old town. · This is a chance to experience the joy of hot big plate food in the American DNA. If youre like us with small stomachs, feel free to my The Big One ordering strategy - one sweet, one savory, one bread, my stomach says satisfied but not wasteful. The Big One $23.5 Sourdough with milk butter Hash brown 2 Eggs (my choice is over-easy) Waffles with a fruit bowl Story of the day Russells first opened in Long Beach in 1930, but that location is no longer in business. The owner moved the store to the quiet old town of Pasadena over 30 years ago. From a tourists perspective, Pasadena is a magical city, about a 30-40 minute drive from downtown LA, kind of like Shunyi to Beijing or Repulse Bay to Hong Kong. This small city is known as the Rose City, with the citys rose logo visible everywhere on the streets. The architecture and buildings are all beautifully unique, and the density of locals and tourists is not too high, forming a stark contrast with downtown.

We came here on a Monday morning and had to wait about 10 minutes for a party of 2... not bad at all, and there is plenty of seating outside while youre waiting. We werent super hungry so split a meal - the meat lovers omelet with hashbrowns and a Belgium waffle. The waiter had the meal split for us and there was plenty of food. The food was SO good. Hashbrowns were perfectly crisp on the outside, yet tender on the inside, the omelet was full of meat and cheese, and the waffle was one of the best Ive ever had (not positive, but it tasted like real maple syrup on the side). Definitely recommend going here for breakfast!

I am staying near by and did not want hotel over priced breakfast so wanted to try. 5 star results. Clean and well run. The owner knows the regulars by name. The coffee is bold. The hashbrowns were crispy and not oiled up. I had the Denver Omelette and it was outstanding. Keep up the great work and see you again!

The food was not excellent, but it was decent for a diner. It wasn t greasy and low in sodium, for a healthy meal. My favorite was the Belgian waffle with cinnamon flavored butter. The atmosphere was really nice it was like an upscale diner. The service was excellent. There s a waiter for each section who was very attentive. The food came out quickly. Overall, it was a good experience, but I think it s overrated.

The atmosphere and decorations here were soooo nice. But is chockful of people during holidays. You need to wait in line about 40-50 minutes. But its worth. The omelette here was sooo delicious and the sides hashbrown is the best ever taste. Besides , the service is very warm and friendly. The coffee here can be refilled. It s so crowded here during holidays that you have to wait about 40-50 minutes, but it s really worth it. The decoration of the store is beautiful, with many paintings and a symphony atmosphere. I highly recommend the Omret here, which is really delicious and goes perfectly with hash browns and ketchup! ! You can also get a one-hour discount on the parking fee here. Remember to park in the parking lot behind! The service is very warm and diligent. Highly recommended! !

Only has one table that accommodates large groups so expect a wait or for your party to be split in two. No veggie burger options. The veggie burrito was ok, not impressed with the cinnamon bun. Vegetarian options: Not really vegan friendly

Stopped through on a road trip for a quick breakfast based on the high reviews of this place. It was a great choice! The service was very fast and very friendly. The food proportions are generous and it appeared/tasted amazing. Would highly recommend for your next breakfast dining! Parking: Garage parking will be validated by the waiter with a food purchase at Russells up to 1.5 hours of parking. Bring your ticket inside!

Super busy on Friday but we just picked up coffee around the corner while we waited. Expedient service, wonderfully cheery and attentive wait staff. Everything was perfect, the bacon was exceptional. If youve never had breakfast here it might be the best in town! We had an omelet, breakfast burrito and standard egg breakfast and everything was perfect. Fresh orange juice, and some fantastic hot sauce on the table Ill have to get a picture of next time. Parking: Paid parking lot drops you off right in front of the restaurant with plenty of sights to see in walking distance if you have to wait for a seat.

The best meal I have ever had. There was a 45 minute wait, but so glad we waited. Our table had the famous pancakes, Denver Omelet with hashbrowns and a turkey club. All were in agreement that it was the best meal weve ever had.

As a local, this is one of my favorite Breakfast/Lunch restaurants in Pasadena. The service is amazing and although there usually is a bit of a wait for a table and no reservations, the food is worth the wait! Not really a hash brown person, but their hash browns are delicious with a perfect crisp on the outside but still soft on the inside! My go to order is their breakfast burrito which is packed with delicious breakfast flavor! And the atmosphere is great in this restaurant with lots of famous paintings and comfy booths!
