About the Company

Welcome to Congregation Brewery & Cocina, we are your local best craft brewery, cocina and specialty sports bar. We keep true to our rich history when it comes to brewing craft beer. A local brewery since 2013 and a restaurant since 2010. Our restaurant is anything but an ordinary gastro pub, we have infused our menu with traditional and non-traditional dishes that will keep you coming back for more.

Our craft beer is brewed locally in Azusa California in our Azusa facility and is then distributed to our other locations.
Let us help you celebrate your special event, gather with your friends for a round of beers or spend a day cheering for your favorite team as you enjoy some craft beers or cocktails with your sports fans.

Cool outdoor seating, friendly service, and the food was AWESOME! Had the double bacon cheese burger with fries. Seriously, I dont know ANYONE who has a big enough mouth to take a bite of this MONSTER BURGER, and the beef patties were like eating a steak! Fries were great, too! A MUST try if youre in the area.

In general the food is very good but the experience was ruined by the service, the waitress seemed upset from the beginning, it took her a long time to take our order, she gave me a drink that tasted more like water than a soda compared to the first time he served and at the end he asked us if we could close the account because he was leaving but after we left he continued normally with other clients, in fact we felt as if he no longer wanted to serve us If your question is about the food, the truth is that it is recommended, but I hope no one experiences a service like the one I experienced today.

3 waiters serving like 60 people. Took forever to order a beer. Beer flight flavor was honestly awful, and whoever was writing the names of the beer for the flights has crap handwriting, couldn t make out what half said. Burger is obscenely large, left half of it on the plate. It s all meat and barely anything else, makes you really want more tomato, pickle, anything to balance the meat flavor. They give you like a pound of fries and a tiny little cup of ketchup, probably to force you to engage with the staff for more. And they put the frying paper for the fries directly under the burger, so if you re cutting the burger with a knife, you re going to be eating some wax paper, bon appetit. Waiters were all territorial, would not accept orders from tables outside their fixed areas. Needless to say, but go to any of the other restaurants and bars in the area instead for a better experience.

Came here for some beers and food after a hike in the hills near Pasadena. We initially decided on this place because of their Vegan menu to accommodate some of our group but unfortunately they have discontinued that menu and the food is not very veg friendly. We were still able to get a Brussel sprouts dish with the meat and cheese on the side. Our beautiful waitress Claudette was very sweet and patient with my family. The food was average but the choice of brews was the highlight of the place. There were too many fries on the table! but we had a good time :) Vegetarian options: Good for beer, bad for vegetarian food

I work at Huntington Hospital, I always see the family member of patients bringing in take out orders for them. Decided to go there after work to pick up some food and take home. Food was amazing! Had the Double Bacon Cheese Burger with the tots and also the chicken salad...very very delicious. Will go again to kick back next time and enjoy some food, beer and entertainment.

To their defense, i accidentally showed up on trivia night. There was a sign outside advertising wing night. They were out of wings. It took the server and 10 minutes to circle back after she gave me that information. My pizza was dropped off without plate, silverware, napkins, toppings. I certainly can eat pizza without silverware. I asked for crushed red pepper and parm. They brought me back crushed red peppers. Painful. I was a server. I know it s tough, but if someone tells you what they need . . . Still waiting for water. I truly have tried to be understanding and patient

The value for food here is absolutely insane. It is obvious they make most of their money from drinks, which is good for people like me who don t drink. A double bacon cheeseburger with a mountain of fries for only $22, and let me tell you the burger was massive. Really delicious and the environment gives good vibes with good service. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a decent number of TVs showing sports games.

Although my friends and I had a challenging experience during our Sunday afternoon lunch, I want to acknowledge the outstanding service provided by Rose who unfortunately was not our waitress. When we were seated, we asked our name-tagless waitress about getting a round of water for the table and if we could have separate checks to which she responded, We don t do that, its impossible. She took our drink order which had its challenges since many of our selected beers were out of stock. After 10 or so minutes she brought 3 drinks including a flat soda and two of the three beers we had ordered. Almost 30 minutes later our waitress returned with the 4th beer so I ordered a backup for myself figuring she wouldnt be back anytime soon. After that, she came back and brought some drinks to our table that were not the ones we had ordered when we told our waitress they were incorrect, we had ordered x and y beer, not the ones she brought us she told us that we were wrong, We never received the round of water, the service was incredibly slow and imprecise, the food was not hot and our waitress had a bad attitude. Rose on the other hand had exceptional customer service that turned things around for us. She went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, including asking us if we needed separate checks ironically. Her positive attitude was a shining light on an otherwise disappointing visit. I believe Roses commitment to customer satisfaction deserves recognition, and as a patron, I sincerely hope the restaurant values and appreciates exceptional employees like her.

2024 - Under new management, everything seems worse. Service was terrible. 15 min to even see a waiter and then 20 min later one of our two entrees came out with a beer, but no napkins or utensils provided. 15 min later the second entree arrived. There was also no soap in bathrooms. This place used to be our favorite and it s too bad everything changed about it. The beer was tasty though expensive.

Looking to change up our typical go to spots, we decided to venture out to Pasadena to check out. A local spot that came highly recommended. We stopped at Congregation Ale House and it was a packed house however didnt have to wait long to be seated and get our grub on. Being thats its a brewery, I opted to try out the specialty beers that they make so ordered a flight. To pair well with my beer selection I order a Philly Cheesesteak and the misses order some nachos. The food was delicious and the beers were heavenly. With a welcoming vibe, this is a spot you can come with your family to hang out and chetch a game or two.

Tried this place for the first time today and I cant stress enough how great of an experience I had. Im originally from Grand Rapids, MI where microbreweries are a huge part of the city and culture (Beer City, USA). This place immediately made me and my parents who were in town feel right at home. We received absolutely outstanding service from our waiter, Kyle, who exhibited extensive knowledge of the menu and was able to recommend drinks and appetizers that were exactly what we were looking for. Seriously, he was one of the best servers Ive ever had the pleasure of interacting with in my entire life, very attentive and personable, you can tell he is very passionate about giving people an experience to remember. The food (Ceviche de Cameron and chicarrones) were out of this world, 10/10 quality and presentation. The food menu consists of typical American dishes (burgers, fries, wings etc) as well as some Mexican dishes which have been newly added by the new owners. They also have a large list of ales/ciders and a selection of signature cocktails to choose from. Theres definitely something for everyone here and everything we tried was a hit. I dont just recommend you try this place, its an absolute must whether you live in the area or are just visiting. Will definitely be back again!

This place was great, then new management came in a while ago, and it is not as great now. I had to interrupt the staff a couple of times while they were having long conversations between each other, and with customers. We were ignored when we came in, then waited 5 minutes and had to flag down a server to help us. We waited over 20 minutes for food (for an adult and a child), and after I asked the waiter to check on food, they brought the wrong food out. After that, the server took an excessive amount of time to run my credit card. Probably gonna skip this one from now on. Food was okay.

When the food finally came, the nachos were actually on corn tortillas and we validated that the tacos also were on corn but clearly they were NOT because I was very sick two hours later. They changed up the system here. It transformed into a congregation Mexican ale house of sorts. They are pushing Margs and modelos. The beer list is printed on paper instead of the digital beer board, that is still up, however the beers on the board dont match what is on the paper. Less emphasis on craft beer and more on Mexican beers, which is fine if that is your thing, but that isnt what congre has always been about . Very strange. The menu has added Mexican food like aguachiles, menudo, ceviche. They removed some previous menu items and kept others. Now it is this strange hybrid menu. It is a bit off to me because again, this isnt congregation. Apparently if you get the burger you cannot substitute the regular fries for sweet potato. Against the rules, buddy The staff has changed and the vibe is totally different. It is now a sit down restaurant. Part of what I liked about congre was that i could walk up and order drinks at my convenience. If you come with a large party, which is what I would do with my soccer peeps, they now only allow a check split three ways. Bogus. With the new system comes learning..and they are still learning to get your food out in a timely manner. This was our go to spot every weekend after our games. Given the changes to a sit down joint and the beer situation, I wont be coming back as often.

There seems to be a trend in Pasadena of restaurants with these weird menus of pizza and tacos and sushi, etc. all under the same roof. This place doesnt have sushi but it certainly is keeping up with the Joneses. Its a chain or something, right? So the Philly cheese stake comes in the bread equivalent of a taco sized sandwich. The chef wasnt from Philly, best I could tell. So I wasnt expecting much, and boy was I still disappointed. There was cold cheese that was roughly broken up over the top of my sandwich. The bread was soggy and untoasted, the beef taste of freezer, and the veggies were mush, like twice thawed peppers. The stand out champ was the fries. I sent the sandwich back and said charge me for the fries, lol. They were good. The kiddo had a pretzel and, I mean, how do you mess up a pretzel? You bring it out with a flavorless cheese sauce that had been over whipped resulting in a broken cheese sauce. No problem, people wont notice the texture. I did but the kid didnt mind. Service was normal, we didnt ask for much attention so our drinks were full and he was totally fine. No fuss no muss. Would I go back? Not on purpose, but were frequently trapped in that area for an hour here or an hour there. So, Maybe. The fries were actually that good and they have a diablo fries that Id be down to try. I dunno, maybe. I included the picture of the sandwich lol. It really had like, ZERO meat flavor Oh, also they had the house lights at full freakin brightness when we walked in, then halfway through the meal they turned them down. It was like 6:30 so its not like it was early. The sun was already down. I audibly laughed when we walked in. Thank you for coming to my presentation about my experience at the congregation house.

I ve been coming here with friends for years. The extremely causal vibe and the wide open tables made it the perfect place to meet friends after work, and for large parties. Ordering was always easy. One could walk up to the counter, put their order in, grab a number and their drink and then go sit down at a table. People could come and go as they pleased, join up with a group that was already there close out when they needed to without closing out the group. The kitchen was always open late and the food was delicious. Unfortunately the move to table service is clunky and not fitting for a place like this. A place where people are meant to congregate. Our latest experience was rough. We had heard from a friend that they had switched to table service and so my partner called ahead and reserved two tables for our party of 15. When we arrived one of the tables was still occupied by other patrons that had been there for 3 hours. So we crammed our whole party into one table. We brought this to the attention of the staff and they assured us they would leave soon. There were other available tables. We were given drink menus and discovered the food menus were available via qr code. No problems there but it took 20 minutes to put in our first drink order. Our other reserved table was still occupied at this time. It was extremely unclear who our server was. We were announced to, twice, that a new server would be covering for us. Our second server never came out to take new orders. Our third server took our second round of drink orders about an hour and 15 minutes in. It was impossible to order additional rounds of drinks. People from our party had to flag down a server to put in a drink order and we were given food and drinks we did not order. A couple of friends joined later but were seated separately because our second reserved table was still occupied. Over the 3 hours we sat at our table we accumulated a $350 bill for 15 people, food and drink. That s pretty low in my opinion. I personally had 2 beers and a burger and tots. I would have ordered more food and drinks if given the opportunity. Everyone in the party shared the same sentiment. A friend of mine attempted to order a shot for me for my birthday but was told the bar was under new management and that was not possible so he didn t bother. This was available in the past. Going to hold off coming here in small parties or big parties. Unfortunately no longer on my list of regular spots unless the new system improves or goes back to the old system. .

Service is the worse. Had us waiting for 30 min to get water. We never did by the way and smother 50 min to get our check after asking over 3 times for it. The waitress was rude and lazy. Food was ok

We didnt eat here, so we cant comment on the food. We only stopped in for a couple of beers, which were good and very cold! We had to find the server whenever we needed another round, which wasnt too cool. The atmosphere was nice and lively but not too busy when we were thus the low score for service.

Good vibes, good drinks, and they have free parking in the lot. But, food is pricey and portions feel small. Overall, I really like this place.

Great beer selection on tap, plenty of seating. Note that from 8 am to 6 pm most of the parking stops are reserved by nearby businesses, so parking could be an issue.

This is a pretty decent sized place with a neat ambience and indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend outdoor seating because the indoor was just packed and had a deafening level of noise. They have two very large menus one for food one for beers and other beverages. There are some vegan options but not a ton. Vegetarians have more options. Mostly meat eating oriented. The people behind the bar were friendly and helpful when taking our order. You see yourself and you get a number and they bring you your food. Ours came in a reasonable amount of time and it seemed pretty fresh. Typical bar fair like tater tots french fries burgers. Some really good beers to choose from of many different types. The actual folks wandering around clearing the tables and bringing things seemed pretty few and far between and very overwhelmed. I dont know if perhaps they were short-staffed that night or if something else was going on or if it was a chronic issue. Theres plenty of parking in a well parking lot. The place is also right next to the gold line so you could take public transport if youd like. Free water is available in a container you serve yourself. I would go back but its not something thats high on my must go again list

Congregation Ale House was a delight! The food and drink names are very on theme and clever. The staff were all very nice. The food was delicious! The pizza crust was fluffy and flavorful, the tots were perfectly crispy, the chicken sandwich was delicious, the pretzel was salty, warm and dunking in the cheese sauce was a chefs kiss. I had the forbidden fruit beer, it was tart, fruity and crisp! Free parking in a large lot, located very conveniently! Would recommend and plan on coming back!!
