Unusually pleasant tiny coffeeshop in a somewhat magical setting- - if it s an odd time on a weekday, I am guessing. I came on a weekday afternoon and waited quite a while in line behind less than a dozen people for at least twenty minutes. It seemed excessive, to be honest- but maybe people were on break. The staff seemed really pleasant otherwise, and were also working hard - maybe something had malfunctioned and they had slowed down. I noticed a patron sipping from an actual ceramic cup-always nicer than paper- andI ordered the gui hua latte. Both the flavor and the physical presentation of the drink were beautiful.

The staff are supremely unfriendly which probably soured the taste of my over extracted americano even more. I tried to speak with them briefly about their machine and the employees were just flat out dismissive and too cool for school. I hate the elitist attitude some shops tend to embrace. It really frightens people away from good coffee. I ve been to every great shop around town and the best of them have wonderful staff on top of their reputable coffee. I ve been to Mandarin 3 times now and each time the coffee has been uninspired and boring. This particular time it was over extracted and sour with almost no distinction of the roast. Anyway. Have fun waiting in the line.

I don t even drink coffee but I know this place is great. There is always a line, especially on weekends there is a massive one. The interior is very cute and the entire area is super aesthetic. Great place to chill and grab a drink on the weekend, study, or just hang out. Staff are super friendly, they also sell a few snacks and treats.

This shop came up on my feed and I just had to try it !! We went on a Monday thankfully hoping the line wouldn t be that long ! It wasn t too bad . I think because the shop is so small and only four people are allowed inside so the line forms outside pretty outside. But the little outside mall is so cute!! Makes you feel like you re in London with the red phone booth and fairy lights. So we order inside . They have a good amount of staff inside so it moves pretty quickly . We ordered a flat white brown sugar latte and went back for a Spanish latte because everything was good !! Even the pastries were so delicious ! Got the pretzel croissant and the koign Aman yum the coffee was on point . They know what they re doing

Coffee has become a brew thing for me and decided to try this hyped place. It s a great spot in an ideal location- decor is modern and hip. You feel like you re walking into a restaurant. The menu has some creative drinks, everything is house made which I appreciate and it shows. The helpful staff directed me to a drink I enjoyed. Price is high because of the value and standards. I enjoyed it (despite not receiving a lid ) I feel it had too much ice and watered down the essence of the coffee. I was expecting more of a flavor punch having all those flavors and ingredients.

Such an adorable location. Very cutesy and trendy. Expect a line! Would I go back and try other drinks, yes. So I guess like the others said.. it s worth the line. There s no seating inside the shop, it s literally a walk up coffee shop and there are some tables outside, if available, in the middle area to sit and relax. We tried the Vienna latte (hot). I do wish the temp was hotter, kind of lukewarm when it was handed to us. Flavors were good. Good solid latte. I also tried the Toasty iced, sooooooo good. Would absolutely get this one again and would try it hot next time. The flavors of tea with espresso and the cinnamon, totally won me over. Got a slice of the date cake, sounded interesting. It was good, not too sweet (that s a compliment from any Asian parent haha), but would I get it again, probably not. Parking - there s a big lot in the back, you can either pay at the pay stations or if you have the passport parking app you can use that too!

A friend recommended this cute spot for coffee that was located in an old style arcade. The shop itself is small and they only allow a few customers in at a time, the menu was posted outside which was helpful. Seating outside is a bit small as well, but we were able to get a table pretty quickly. I had a toasty with a half shot of espresso, very tasty and well made! The pastries were also quite delicious, we had a hazelnut chocolate almond croissant and a strawberry almond croissant; the strawberry was very good, and we fought over the last one. The baristas were all super nice, and the other customers were very pleasant too! Very nice!

Mandarin is such a vibe. The aesthetic. The drinks. The iced toasty is my fav --- a blend of rooibos tea with espresso, oat milk and cinnamon. Its clear they put a lot of thought and care into their craft and the experience. I mean, look at their floral arrangement.. yes, those are green sunflowers. ;) Located in the charming Burlington Arcade, this hidden gem feels like youre on the set of a movie. Great place for a coffee date if you can snag one of their tables or take a stroll around nearby Caltech. Note: Prepare to wait in line... lifes reminder to slow down and that whats worth savoring requires time and patience. Parking: Love the easy parking and big lot -- free for 90 mins!

Charming little spot with barista like coffee. The coffee and tea here are so on point. Im not a coffee conasseiur, but imo the drinks here are next level up from other coffee places. Love their matcha. Its clean and frothy without being sweet. Theres usually a line on the weekends. The wait can be a while. Place is tucked away in the cutest alleyway. Gives Paris/European vibe. Cute spot to bring your Kindle and enjoy a latte outside if youre lucky to find a spot.

A quality coffee focused shop I pop into whenever Im in town. Sherry, the owner, pours her soul into every cup, building community with her team, and you can taste it. The line isn t a hassle; but a testament to the treasure waiting at the end. Both the Cappuccino and cortado here are spot on and Ive appreciated the unique seasonal drink options that pop up on the menu (but hurry because they may not be on the menu that long). Ive seen a lot of reviews about the Vienna here don t expect a sugar rush and fake flavorings, expect nuance. Balanced, natural flavors rise to the surface. It doesn t just wake you up; it makes you glad you re awake. The materials/aesthetic? Glass on the outside is painted with the seasons. Sherry s way of saying, You re welcome, to the eyes before the coffee thanks your taste buds. The interior although small is very pleasing and purposeful. You can tell extra attention was put into every detail and they made the most of the space. Parking s easy, 90 minutes free. Theres a restroom in the building, you just have to ask for a key (pretty standard). A few quality tables outside, the standing bar for two inside, Even while its nonstop busy all day, Ive had a great experience from the team. Solid pastries Mandarin Coffee Stand is a tiny kingdom of quality. Worth every minute, every sip - so good they bring loads of traffic, massively helping every business around them - so much so I wouldnt be surprised if the place pays them to keep the shop in the area

Mandarin should have 6/5 stars!!! Popularity has grown and so have the lines(move rates quickly imo) but if you ve had their drinks long enough you know you can t go elsewhere. I fell in love with this place because everything about it reminded me of morning coffee runs to different coffee shops in Japan. Safe to say it s my favorite place now and I can t stay away. Love popping in just after 8 for the morning Spanish latte, or shortly after 3 for a pick me up and an espresso tonic or a matcha tonic or anything! Pastries are all amazing as well! Pro tip: If you re looking to have your drink there you can order it for here and you ll get it in an actual mug/cup :)

2024 update: I will travel 3000+ miles for this coffee shop :) highly, highly recommend it to everyone. All of the signature drinks are solid options. Im happy to see that business is going very well. Original review: 10/10 study place if your laptop has an amazing battery life AND if the weather isnt too chilly outside. Outdoor seating only - it really is, as the name states, like a coffee stand. Theres wifi but no charging outlets. Gui Hua latte was amazing! And they have sugarbloom pastries, so you know itll be good. Will be back when Im in the area :) I really hope they are super successful & expand to a bigger location with indoor seating. Also crossing fingers for an expanded menu like sandwiches and stuff :) Edit: Went back and tried the pineapple tonic - really good! The Toasty latte was just OK, nothing special. Its not worth it to get the latte in a take-out cup IMO

a cute little coffee shop, that cannot fit anymore than a max of 4 reside in the heart of Pasadena downtown. we found this place purely by accident when we were walking around and browsing the area. there was an already established line for coffee there to one store down (stores are relatively small btw), and there is a sign stating max of 4 people, which would make sense because its like a small room space that really isnt meant for dine in. once getting into the shop (which took about 45 min), it was a cute tiny coffee shop, outside at the window you can see the barista making the drinks and inside you can also see from a different angle. everything is transparent, so if you like to see them make your drink and wonder how its made, its a pretty good shop to check out. we got their vienna latte like everyones recommendation, and the sweet cream on top that they whipped and added was prob the crop to the drink, was it worth the line, prob not, but we were bored and didnt have places to go anyways so join the line to check out the experience. would i go again? prob wait till the line dies down also no accessible restroom really sucks if you are in line for long and need to pee.

Not going to give this place a second chance because they dont deserve my time or money. Word of advice: as a business if you want to deny service before closing then just change your hours and put a last call time instead of falsely advertising your open hours. They lack basic customer service and common sense.

Absolutely worth my 45min drive from west LA area, outstanding experience at this coffee shop! The Americano was exactly how a true coffee lover would enjoy their cup. But the real star was the Gui Hua Latte. The aroma of Gui Hua was pleasantly inviting, it was a perfect balance without overpowering the rich coffee essence. The texture in the mouth was like sipping on a cloud - fluffy and light. Impressively, there was no hint of artificial syrup, just pure authentic flavors and it was exactly what I was looking for in a flavored latte. A MUST VISIT!!!

First time here and it was such a cute place to enjoy the little sunshine that appeared today. Barista recommended the Vienna Latte which is Iced with Oat Milk and oh boy it was delicious. The cold foam was nice and fluffy which I absolutely loved. I dont know about $7 per cup but it is honestly the average price at any Pasadena Coffee Shop. The Mandarin Coffee Stand team was super friendly and very welcoming. They even apologized for the long wait which was only about 8 minutes. Dulce, Eli and Kevin were such sweethearts and definitely made me feel as part of their work family. I will be returning real soon. Arcade Lane is such a cute place and they have plenty of outdoor seating for a quick work from home meeting. I was able to sit there for about 2 hours and it was so peaceful. Next time I will try the pastries which also looked scrumptious.

Its all delicious and you can taste the quality of their craft. Its situated in a cozy shopping outlet with plenty of seats. Ive used it as a remote working space before and it works great if you have a portable charger, there are no outlets as far as I can tell unfortunately. The staff is kind and occasionally they have a pop up baker, this isnt to say their staple bakery items arent great (they are), just noting I like that they partner with local small businesses as well it seems.

Excellent preparation of the brown sugar, Vienna, and Spanish lattes. Cute, quiet seating area outside of the shop. Perfect pumpkin spice and chocolate donuts. You can see the baristas taking all the steps to prepare a good espresso shot in the back: measuring the exact grams of ground beans, breaking up the clumps, leveling the coffee bed, and tamping with an electric tamper. No seating inside the shop but there is covered seating outside with several two person tables. The entrance is in the middle of a line of other shops. The pastries are sourced from Sugarbloom Bakery, a local bakery that prepares only for coffee shops. The pumpkin spice and devils food (chocolate) donuts were fluffy and the perfect sweetness for our coffee. Parking: Free parking lot in the back shared with other stores. It is a pretty fruity caffeine drink, highly recommended for winter season if u are looking for a warm comfort drink. Also I really love the latte art. It looks really pretty. I could pay with a card but its the principal of the matter. Chinese coffee stand in the pasadena. If you are looking for high quality warm beverage such as coffee, matcha and tea. This is the place for you. There pastries are yummy as well. Come early for baked goods if not they will run out. Service is great and there are tables outside.

Lovely coffee and tea shop serving creative drinks. Grab and go place with outdoor (covered) seating in the Burlington arcade. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have Wi-Fi and bathroom access for customers. Really enjoyed the pineapple espresso tonic. Was a good blend of fresh fruits and coffee. Big lot with first 90min parking free.

The quality of the food/drinks is good. Is it that good for $8 for a drink? Definitely not. Too expensive in my opinion as there are better ambiance coffee shops in Pasadena that are excellent and are not as expensive as this place.

Delightful coffee and tea boutique stand located in the Burlington Arcade in Pasadena. I ordered a Toasty and it is a great brown sugar, roobios milk tea and espresso blend. Its a bit on the sweet side, so next time I might ask for less sugar. My only gripes are its small for the price and limited outside seating. Parking lot next to the Burlington Arcade is pay to park. But my free tip is to park across the street at Macys 3hr free parking! Definitely give this spot a try!

Mandarin Coffee Stand is a small, cozy, and charming coffee shop located within the Burlington Arcade plaza off of Lake in Pasadena. You can enjoy your coffee inside the store, but there is standing room only by the counter in the bay window. There is an outdoor area as well, which is fully covered by the arcades structure and rooftop windows that provide plenty of natural light streaming in. The coffee from Mandarin is simply outstanding. On this first trip we had the Lunar New Year Blossom Latte and the Gui Hua Latte. Both were delicious. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, and theyre happy to chat with customers about their coffee preferences and make recommendations. In addition to coffee, Mandarin Coffee Stand also offers a variety of delicious pastries and baked goods. Overall, Mandarin Coffee Stand is a fantastic coffee shop that offers great coffee, food, and makes a commitment to sustainability. Whether youre looking for a quick cup of coffee on the go or a cozy spot to work or relax, Mandarin Coffee Stand is definitely worth checking out.

Great pour-over coffee! Not overly acidic or too bitter, and really interesting flavor. Pastries look great, but I didnt try any. Excellent location with ample seating outside.

Sherry is great! The coffee selection is great! Parking is even incredibly easy due to being in a plaza; which is often not the case for cafes of this caliber.

Cute shop, good coffee. I had the Gui Hua latte and it was so deliciously fragrant! Im not a usual coffee drinker but as my friends took us here on high recommendation I had to try it and see whats up. Well it was one of best lattes Ive had! Recommend for sure. Could be a bit of a wait tho as its a small store thats gotten popular.

This place was so cute. I got the blossom latte and it was perfectly sweet, the ginger and peppercorn syrup in it gives it a nice warming feeling on in the back of your throat at the end of the sip. The ham and cheese croissant was flaky and melts. Highly recommend checking it out. There s a parking lot behind behind the coffee shop. Also there s only 4 tables to sit at so if you have a larger party take away might be the best call.

One of the best coffee shops Ive been to in the LA area. They are sourcing really high quality beans from international roasters in Quebec and Berlin! The beans I just bought are a revelation! Never had anything like them. Had a cortado and their Gui Hua specialty drink and both were phenomenal. Plus that location in the arcade is really cute

This is such a cozy coffee shop. It is located in the alley where Oink Moo Tea boba shop is. Parking: There is a parking lot in the rear or you can also park on the street (if lucky over the weekends) This coffee shop is petite. As you walk inside, you will feel like you are stopping by a coffee stand but its built inside instead of on the outside. There are pastries and non caffeinated drinks as an option by the barista. Ordered: * Gui Hua Latte (iced) - Osmanthus flower infused honey, cardamon bitters, house espresso and oat milk -- You can definitely taste the cardamon bitters and a hint of the osmanthus flower honey. It had a very pleasant taste. *Brown Sugar Latte (Iced) - The brown sugar was definitely there, wished we were able to taste the espresso a bit more. If possible, try to request light on the brown sugar. There are plenty of seats outside. If you are planning to coffee in, make sure to bring back their cups into their shops. Please remember to clean after yourself so others can take turn to sit and enjoy the day as well.

Tucked inside a cozy, neat plaza of South Lake District, this coffee shop is a welcome addition. The drinks and treats match the setting, nicely decorated and packaged. The menu is well thought out with tasty, quality selections like the Hojicha Latte and Pineapple Espresso Tonic. As for the pastries, the pistachio croissant was excellent; the guava and cream was okay. The overall price came as a bit of a surprise but in these times what do you expect. In all mandarin coffee stand is a good addition to the area worth checking out!

Cute decorations that are hand painted on the windows (and from the other reviews, looks like they change the pictures from time to time), very minimalistic inside, clean, and classy. They have lots of yummy and eye catching pastries on display (especially the guava cream cheese) and unique drinks to choose from. Service was friendly (only two people were in there, including the owner). It definitely gives off small business and hard working vibes. We stayed in the standing eating area cause it was so aesthetic inside (outdoor seating is nice too but feels slightly different inside). I ordered the Toasty and really liked it! So many other drinks to try that caught my eye :0)

This place is so good! Went for the soft opening. Tried the matcha latte, hojicha latte and brown sugar latte. Delicious! The espresso drink is perfectly sweet, not too much, and so smooth. The matchas were quality! They use only the best milk for lattes (Oatly). I can t wait to try their other espresso and signature drinks.
