Traditional Indian fare, including vegetarian entrees, served in a cozy space with exotic decor.
We were invited by a dear friend who swears by this place as one of the best North Indian food in Pasadena. It certainly lived up to the reputation. Everything was good, even the salads. I highly recommend the lamb vindaloo with lentils. I particularly appreciated that you can choose the spicy level from 1 to 10 which is not a feature I’ve seen before in Indian restaurants.

This is the most bland Indian food ever. Gerber baby food has more flavor. The Mint Leaf Chicken had corn starch in the sauce, which was about as flavorful as a hospital IV. For the price I paid, I expected real flavor not TV dinner taste. Never again.

I visited Mint Leaf on January 1st for my birthday dinner and everything was incredible! The restaurant is small and inviting and you’re hit with the smell of delicious spices as soon as you walk in! The vegetable samosas and Tikka Paneer were the best things on the table. The services was great and I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for Indian i the greater LA area!

This place is charging excessively in terms of the quality of food they provide. I ordered takeout, have had much much better mix vegetable curry and dal makhani in other places. I think by keeping prices too high, they want to be seen as a great restaurant but it is quite the contrary. The service was mediocre (rude staff when handing the food over) and the food was below average. Never ordering take out from here again!

Horrible service from the staff. Very rude. Made us wait forever. Staff spoke to us in a way that we are bothering him. They were not even busy. We were the first customer to be there. Ambience is dark small and had a dirty feel. Stay away from this place. There are better Indian cuisine and service restaurants than this.

New Lunch Buffet!
Speaking only to the vegetarian dishes- I ate well. Everything was mild while still being flavorful, and for those that like it spicy there are plenty of condiments to kick the dishes up a notch.
For first time diners- their menu is extensive and worth a sampling. Full menu also available at lunch time.

Maybe we ordered poorly, but many things were not good. First, a gin & tonic served with no lime is a sacrilege and should be outlawed on a 95 degree day. Lemons are not a substitute. Strange balsamic dressing for the kachumbar salad - a small amount of effort towards turning a mint chutney into a salad dressing could work wonders here. Alas, their mint chutney and tamarind sauce served with an order of papadam (not complimentary) was also disappointing. The tamarind was like a thickened sugar syrup with no tamarind flavor. The mint chutney was dull and more creamy than minty with little punch. Papadam was slightly burned and slightly thicker than i prefer it but compared to the other strikes acceptable. Tandoori mushrooms were interesting, but much better when combined with crunchy lettuce and some of the chutney. Its possible to make a very interesting dish out of these but they are currently two steps away from success. Baby eggplant dish came in a super thick sauce that i guess had coconut milk in it. We could barely eat it. Felt like a vegan calorie bomb dense dense dense (and i prefer to dance dance dance.) Green pea rice pulau was also weird. Had cashews and we think some kind of burnt onion sliver - would have been better with plain rice because these ingredients added up to a bizarre hat and not a complimentary accessory. The biggest dud was the tandoori seafood platter: 1 pieces of seafood arranged the way a messy kid cleans up a room - dropped. 3 pieces of shrimp (overcooked) 3 bay scallops (undercooked), 2 pieces of salmon 1 inch x 2 inch (overcooked) and 3 pieces of catfish, which were overcooked but thats actually exactly how i like my catfish so we fought over those. Platter seems like an overly optimistic way to describe this dish. Basically - off flavors, off concepts, off execution. Probably the worst Indian food Ive had in LA in the last 25 years/ 50 different restaurant experiences. All that said, my gal and i agreed wed probably eat there again and order more standard fare (biryani, aloo, chicken, naan, gobi, etc) to see how that went. Also, today was hot as gods vagina so Im willing to forgive if those cooks were beat by the heat

Mint has been my go to for Indian food since I first tried them over a year ago. I havent been disappointed once with any of our choices. My only comment is that they charge extra for rice to accompany dishes that normally are served with rice. Worse, they dont suggest that you purchase rice when picking up an on line order. Also, they are stingy with their sauces. They really should consider filling up those little cups. Otherwise, get ready for a great meal.

This place is insanely overpriced. I ordered the chicken tika masala and it was $27!! Online it said it was $17 so pretty unfair especially for the portion you get. It s a normal smaller portion and it doesn t even come with rice . Rice costs pennies I asked if they would be able to throw in some rice since I m paying $27 for this small dish and they would not. The chicken was also burnt on the edges. I ll never come here again. Don t get ripped off!

The food was very good. I had a buffet lunch with rice, different varieties of chicken and many more items were available here. But the staff attitude towards me was very unprofessional. Doesnt meet the quality of food and service. I had an insult from the serving staff and after the incident while I was having the food, another staff came and he questioned me instead of understanding my situation. He himself says he knows everything. Also he himself says he is questioning me in a professional way! What the... He didnt try to understand my situation. Actually when the problem happened another customer helped me to figure out my problem and this staff guy again asked why Im not angry with the customer, why I was angry only with the staff! Actually I was not angry with the staff. It was terrible anyways. I went there after searching many Indian restaurants and I feel so sad after having my meal here. I never had such a bad experience in the USA. I must give them one star but of course I liked their food.

The folks who work here are so wonderful. The food is pretty good. They are critically understaffed and this leaves the service workers to make amends to frustrated customers. Whoever owns this place needs to do a better job, and, while theyre at it, pay their workers more.

Good service, good ambiance but poor food. Bland, lacking flavor and absolutely non authentic Indian food. Possibly they cater to the western crowd more than the Indian crowd so the lack in flavor is evident.

This place used to be my wife and I favorite place to go for special occasions . The place needs some TLC as maintenance has been ignored, and its cluttered. The chairs need to be reupholstered, tables are wobbly, walls are chipped, and painting is needed. They no longer use cloth napkins or even a thicker paper napkin, and the staff is not very good anymore, not attentive, forgot our drinks, and got my order wrong. The only saving grace is the food is still good.

I have eaten at mint leaf many times since it opened, the food is always incredible and absolutely worth it. This last time, they gave me chicken instead of lamb for one dish. They noticed it and chased me to my car to fix it for me as well as offering a free dessert. It was no big deal but was handled so well, the staff really do care about their food and their customers experience. Food was great. So many veggie options. They even have a vegan lassi! We got the mushroom and spinach dish. It was so interesting and delicious. Their sauces are super delicious! Service was great too. The fried onion starter was really good too. Only recommendation to imorove is, although the inside is nice, there are some needed paint touch ups that need to happen and the entrance just dumps you right into the place. No transition area. Just kinda awkward not really a problem!!! We will be back.

Some of the best Indian food Ive ever had. Excellent service and atmosphere. One of the reviews on here said something about hidden things being on the bill or things not being priced accurately, and that wasnt my experience at all. Everything was accounted for and accurate. Please note that the menus have been updated from the photos here and the prices have gone up just slightly. I started out with the onion bhajis which were good, but ultimately not my thing. The dal tadkawali was fantastic (so happy they have my favorite dish) and the naan was excellent (and they even gave me extra, so score).

Don t let the modest exterior prevent you from enjoying this gem of a restaurant. As soon as you enter you can tell that this family-run business takes a ton of pride in their work. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was excellent. We had the saag aloo, green herb chicken tikka, and garlic naan. Everything was exceptional. The saag was a traditional dish which paired well with the basmati rice. The chicken was a wonderful and tasty surprise. It was light and bright from the citrus and the herbs added a nice depth of flavor. Despite the big pieces of chicken breast it was cooked perfectly with a nice char and still moist. We ll happily come back here whenever we get a craving for high quality Indian food.

The food was good but the restaurant follows unethical practices when it comes to charging clients. The restaurant charged us at least 2-3$ extra for every dish and also added things to the bill we didnt order. I know Indian food so could keep track of what we ordered but this shady way of confusing people who dont remember all their order is horrible and insulting to the customers. As soon as I get in the door, a Mexican guy says May I help u in a sense that what am I doing there (kind of). An Indian guy entering a Indian restaurant is there to eat Indian food - how simple. I felt Mexican macho attitude right @ the door. They need to hire business friendly staff I guess. Goat curry (all kinds of chilies & green bell peppers to make it 9 out of 10 hot on the scale) that I ordered had more of spice flavor that Mexicans use (May b a chef in the back is also a paisaaano). In the name of Indian restaurant, I ate Indian dish by some Mexican preparing, running & serving.

I was in a rush to get some food for lunch and picked this place. $28 for chicken tikka masala. First, that was my mistake, I didnt ask for the price of a common dish average pricing at around $15 and of course they didnt tell me the price. I was also told the prices online needed to be updated so I couldnt get a real cost anyway. When I went to pay I only saw it at the end of my bill. I shrugged it off and figured it was going to be some amazing food for the price I paid or at least come with sides(but no sides). When I tried the chicken it was tough and overcooked, the sauce was decent but nothing special. The naan was average but I got the garlic naan which had no garlic flavor. Honestly I feel I should have just waited to go somewhere else. I wont be going back, not because the food tasted bad, but because the food was not worth the price. Dont be price gouged by them make sure you get the cost upfront if you still plan on going.

This place has some of the best Indian food I ve ever had. Pre-Covid we used to go all the time for their lunch specials and even delicious dinner menu. The only reason I m giving a 3 star rating is because they recently upped their prices a good amount (nearly $4-$5 an item). They are offering 20% off takeout orders and it basically causes it to break even with regular (non-COVID) pricing. I understand businesses are trying to stay open but Mint Leaf does have plenty of customers and I don t think nailing customers with an additional $4-5 an item when you are only offering an a la carte menu causing it to nearly amount to a ($25-$30 normal price difference if you order two entrees, two rices, and a bread) is the right option. We re all financially struggling, and I d love to help them stay open (we already ordered from them 4-5x just in the month of August) but this is a little steep given what everyone is going through. Can t exactly drop $80 on a takeout dinner for two every day of the week while working from home... Given normal circumstances, a dining-in experience (which in part is part of the price you pay for a meal), and being able to eat inside this beautiful place...I d happily pay the money. The food is delicious!! Please please make it accessible again!

We just ate there for the first time tonight and our experience turned out to be wonderful at first and shocking as we left. I worked at an Indian restaurant years ago called Chameli, and I was glad to eat good Indian food again. The atmosphere was nice and we were about to leave when the manager or someone came to the table and said we needed to leave because people were waiting for our table. We understood and started to get up... he proceeded to tell us that we ruined his serving schedule or something because my 85 year old father thought more of our family was coming. They seated us for 6 and we had no additional chairs, but he pointed out that his evening was somehow ruined as they expected 8. I couldnt believe he would treat new customers this way. I was so disappointed and I feel sorry for the owners. Great food, nice atmosphere, kind waiter, horrible manager. The table next to us said they were so sad to hear him treat us that way. He shrugged his shoulders.
