Food overall was on the dry side and inconsistent, one bite will be ok and the other over cooked and dry after telling the waiter he simply said that they were sorry and didn t offer to fix their mistake by re doing the order or at least giving a discount on the item with the issue. Portion sizes were also on the smaller side for me.

Excellent food food, very good service. On the pricy side. I would have given it 5 stars, but for some strange reason, management decided to put a pretty loud group of 8 people right next to our table, although the restaurant was empty as you see on the pictures. There was no reason to put those people right next to our table.

2 star for very simple reasoning. August 30 of 2024, my S/O, female, went to have a pre celebratory dinner for her friends wedding which has to be planned weeks before for everyone to find time out of their busy lives. Now food was on par, actually they really enjoyed it as stated by all 4 or so guests but one thing I was taught working in culinary/customer service is to always treat your guests as best as possible, not continuously ask if they are done & begin taking everyones plates knowing they are still enjoying themselves. As well as asking that they are going to have to move them cause they have people waiting. Keep in mind it had not been longer than 35-45 minutes. 1.5 hours for a 4-6 person party & then give the boot When you are out with your friends/family, would you like to feel rushed?

My friends and I have been there ~10 times since 2018. The food used to be nearly perfect. Their famous lamb shank was as delicious as what we had in the most popular restaurant in Santorini, Greek. However, since 2022, the lamb shank has changed a lot and became quite boring, just like what you could expect from any American greek food restaurant at this price. (1) The dry fruit and the subtle taste of honey and fruit in the sauce had disappeared. (2) The couscous, which perfectly absorbs the flavor and adds a twisted scent & cute texture to the meat, had been replaced with plain mashed potato, making that extraordinary dish ordinary. I could still remember its great taste before 2022. Please consider hiring the previous chef back, or at least using the previous recipe... Overall its still a good restaurant, but not as outstanding as before:) Parking: Across the street behind the Miniso shop. Large parking lot, reasonable price, maybe the restaurant can validate parking.

Hostess was aloof. Honestly, got so frustrated and left after waiting for a table 90 minutes and then noticing after waiting 60 minutes the restaurant had 7 empty tables with no one waiting so we approached the hostess and asked if she had a table, and she said, Oh yes, I was ready to seat you. Luckily, Pasadena has options, so we headed over to a great place on Colorado Blvd.

No social distancing in patio. The tables were so close that you could clearly hear each other. The food was decent and overpriced. Nothing spectacular. Also, they changed me 3% more on top of everything kitchen fee). Because of the close seating the wait staff kept popping into our table every time they passed us and it was very uncomfortable. That was an overrated and overpriced food and restaurant.

The appetizers, an octopus salad and kebbe were ok. The octopus was flavorless Ive had much better they must have forgotten to season it. My friends dishes looked very nice and they liked them. The automatic awnings when it got cold were very pleasant and kept the patio warm. The highlight of the night for me was the dessert. The ashta cake was light and delicious as was the warm apple tart with yummy cinnamon ice cream. The server was knowledgeable and attentive. Been here before and would go back again.

The food was delicious and the upstairs patio was very nice. The tables are really close together so once someone is sitting next to you, it is hard focusing on your conversation when you can hear everything the other party is saying. Staff was efficient and courteous but waiter could have been more engaging. He did his job. Had the lamb kebab, red curry risotto, and fried smelts and all were tasty. The apple tart dessert was a little over cook and had a weird texture. Would order the tiramisu next time. Parked across the street which was $12 dollars. Next time we will park in the structure one block to the east on Union. They charge $1.00 per 20 minutes on the weekdays so we could have saved $6 there. Glad the elevator was working. Just to the left of the main entrance in the alley way. You will have to call them to come down to open the door. Will probably come again.

I have been here over 30 times since my daughter was born until she went to college. This review is for overall experiences. When I first went there, the food was good. They gave free bread, it was a stable to this restaurant. They no longer give the bread. They also add a 3% fee on top of the tax. Its hidden at the very bottom of the menu. Why are customers paying for your staff health care, if your staff are that important to your restaurant, provide them with health insurance. The food is not as good. The removed a lot of vegetarian options (no more pasta, no more pizzas). They have salads, and a vegetarian mezza tasting menu. On my last visit, I order of a vegetarian platter, they put meat on there, ruin my lunch. This place is not really greek food, its more middle Eastern food. The location is great, indoor and balcony sitting. They do take a while to sit even if the restaurant is not busy. Note pictures are taken over the years, they no longer have pizza, and the sandwich. Vegetarian options: Not many options, salads and vegetarian testing menu (but make sure they do not give you meat items) Parking: There is paid parking

Amore! The food and atmosphere of Cafe Santorini perched on a charming rooftop in Old Town Pasadena will whisk you away to the vibrant coastline of the Mediterranean. We started off the night with the Mezze Vegetarian Appetizer. Not only is this dish beautiful to look at with all its vibrant colors, but it s also bursting with flavor tangy hummus, zesty tabbouleh, marinated grape leaves, and crispy Borak (to name a few) will excite you with different tastes. For the main course, we each got the Chicken Kebab. What an indulgent dish! The chicken was succulent and perfectly seasoned. It came with rice pilaf, tzatziki, hummus, and a colorful assortment of roasted vegetables. Unlike other restaurants that give you insanely small portion sizes for a ridiculous price, Cafe Santorini serves up very filling meals that leave you feeling perfectly satisfied. We were delighted by our dinner and thrilled that we got to sample different exotic dishes from the Mediterranean. Thankfully, this restaurant does NOT limit itself to just pasta and pizza. The only downsides were that it took a long time for our food to arrive (around 30 minutes) and that our waiter was not very communicative. For example, our appetizer came with pita bread but we had no idea because it was tucked away under several layers of napkins! Wish our waiter told us, since we unknowingly ordered extra pita bread. Moreover, the tables on the balcony are arranged very close together, which did not provide us with much room for intimate conversation, but I guess that s ok we were focused on savoring our delicious food anyways!

Went here to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary and what a beautiful place. It was a little weird getting to the actual restaurant because it was a small door which lead to going upstairs. They do have an elevator but I think it was on the other side where the alley was. We were unfamiliar so just chose the stairs. Also parking is across the street and you have to pay for parking. Theres a nice size patio or you can eat inside. I think it was definitely nice to eat outside and since it was on the chilly side, they have heat lamps which kept us warm. The calamari salad and the Branzino were standouts for sure. And their martinis were delicious. I loved all 3 flavor choices so I decided to get all 3 but the best was the Santorini one, not too strong and the flavor was perfection. I would definitely recommend this place and to make reservations. This place was fully packed when we were there.

The absolute worse. I ordered my food on this restaurants website. The website went to ToastTab. I spent $60 on their site and they contracted my food to be delivered by Door Dash. I found this out by the email I received shortly afterwards. My food was NEVER delivered. I received a text message from Door Dash that the order was cancelled. I called the restaurant and they would not help me and insisted that I now have to go through Door Dash to retrieve my refund. I NEVER worked with Door Dash to place the order. I called DoorDash and they are now telling me that Cafe Santorini has to process the refund. And it takes 48 hours. This is insane! Just off of this, I dont care if the food is good, customer service goes a long way. I will NEVER come back to this restaurant.

My chicken kabab was ok. The chicken was dry. I guess I should applaud them for hiring the elderly as bus boys, but they should provide them with more training. The elderly man was trying to do a good job probably, by constantly removing plates from our table, but it was so often his action kept interrupting our conversations, because he would ask you to hand him a plate while youre talking. He also got my jacket dirty twice, because he was not careful. I didnt say anything to the manager because I didnt want to get him in trouble. Also, the restaurant closed at 10pm. Yes, we lost track of time, and we were the second to the last table to leave, but we still didnt deserve for them to turn off the light for the stairway as we were going down it. We have one person with bad vision, and if she had been in front instead of me, she could have had a misstep and fallen. They should have waited for us to be out of the stairway before turning off the light to it. Our server was nice and friendly though. The atmosphere was quite good. No, not wheelchair accessible.

I ate here so much and finally got tired of their kitchen surcharge that I asked the waiter to take it off our bill. He asked the manager and took it off no problem... I mean, my man spends about 230 in our dinner there sometimes...that extra charge is uncalled for even if you have the money just to eat there for the night. Therefore, do not be ashamed to ask for that extra charge off your bill! Also, for the price you pay for a salad do not hesitate in returning it if the lettuce is old. I think you expect the best from a high quality place as this is!

If I could do zero stars I would. We were there for my husbands graduation dinner. Graduated with his masters from Fuller Seminary Made reservations and in reservation said my brother-in-law and wife would have infant and stroller with them. When we arrived the elevator was broken and we carried the baby and stroller up the stairs. Both hostesses made a big deal about have a stroller there that we just carried up. Said they didnt have room for it. My husband had a service dog and you can only ask a handler two questions (Ada law) they can ask. They did that correctly, but once we sat down the hostess placed a paper in front of him about how service dogs should act in their restaurant. didnt say anything to him. basically just shoved a paper in his face. the music was soooo loud that caused my husband to have a panic attack. needless to say we left due to the first ten minutes being horrible. Did not eat there. never going back. not a way to treat customers. we had this planned for a celebration and felt unwelcomed.

The food is amazingly good. I didnt like the Fettuccine there though. Its a bit harden. Other than that, the atmosphere is good. The service is great, no pre-course bread though. The waiter sounded a bit like her just got out of the club drunk. Other than that, everything else is good. Parking: Its Pasadena. All public parking is paid parking. Its minimum $10 all day (At the time Q1 2023). Price for parking is going up relatively quick year to year. Kid-friendliness: Definitely not the place. Its a mid range Italian restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely not there. Its on the second floor and I havent seen any elevator to the restaurant.

The rib eye steak was phenomenal, which also formed a nice paring with the squid ink ravioli. I had a very enjoyable dinner there and am eager to try it again:)

Cafe Santorini, located in the heart of old town Pasadena. Offering a variety of Mediterranean dishes, wine and cocktails. In general, both foods and services are pretty good. @cafesantorini #pasadena #oldtown #oldtownpasadena #steak #salad #grilledoctopus #grilledoctopus #kefta #babaganoush #futtuccinecongamberetti #futtuccine #gamberetti #grilledcalamari

Terrible experience. 1. My fiancé had a reservation here for her birthday 3 days in advance for 7 people. They ended up seating us on some horrible back room that was completely unfinished. Unpainted walls. Plastic folding tables. Ladders sitting in the corners. Storage boxes tucked away. No ambiance. Horrible lighting. There was no reason they could not have planned to have two tables put together in the main room or the nice patio. At the very least, inform parties they could be sat in a back storage room when they make the reservation. 2. The service sucked. Besides the manager who came to us as we waited for a proper table in the main dining, everyone else was cold and short with everything we asked of them. All the waiters save for a couple spoke broken English and were very unaccommodating. The hosts were overheard making a comment about our 5 year old son being with us. ( our son was mostly perfectly behaved and not a nuisance in any way ) Which leads me to our third complaint 3. We made the reservation for a birthday. They knew this. They never made a mention about the birthday or asked us about the gelato dish. We told them in the beginning we would order the flourless chocolate dessert in place of the gelato because my fiancé can t eat dairy. So when the time came, the waiter asked if we still wanted the dessert. We said yes. Still nothing about her birthday. They gave us the check and charged $11 for a small piece of a flourless brownie. They never even mentioned the birthday. When we asked the waiter if they can comp the chocolate dessert he said oh no absolutely not. But I will get the gelato lol oh ok buddy. On top of the horrible experience when first getting there, to be charged for what should have been comped and having a birthday completely ignored, it was a pathetic experience. Bonus bullsh*t - The portions are terrible. On appetizers and main dishes.

Traveling on my own in Pasadena and decided to check out Cafe Santorini for their Mousaka. It was a nice experience. The staff was attentive, and the food was good. Im sure there are many ways to prepare this dish, and while the flavors were good, it seemed heavy on meat sauce. Perhaps the eggplant was cooked into the sauce, but I was anticipating layers.

This place serves good food quickly and almost always gets my order right. Mostly frequented by people who work in the area on weekdays for lunch. Evenings draw people from all around. The staff level of friendiness and customer service is hit or miss. They can be curt so dont expect warm and fuzzy. Have a drink before you order to prepare.

Food was okay, nothing special. service was bad, we had reservations at 7:30 but didnt get seated until around 8:15 and we had to wait 15 more minutes for outside seating, they had us seated close to where we were waiting. Basically, they overbooked. We couldnt wait anymore cause we were hungry already. Waiter wasnt helpful at all, wanted to get some dessert but he never got back to us. Never again.

They handle food so well! The way they prepared all of the meals was incredible. Each dish was very flavorful and delicious. We loved the specials they had including the bass, the penne chicken was great, and the desserts were wonderful! We particularly liked the apple pie/cobbler dish. The flourless chocolate cake was super rich and delicious. We had three of them and could ve settled for just one.

I read reservations were recommended. I did it through the open table app(I think). Anyway, entrance is on Union Street side. Up some stairs and the receptionist is past the bar(interestingly). Mentioned I had a reservation and they checked me in and asked where I wanted to sit. Wife said outside...which is intimate but with the surrounding noise of other restaurant goers. We were served water and given menus. Wife selected Fettuccine with Gamberetti. I asked for Penne con Pollo. (See the photos!) Both delicious. To finish the night we shared a tiramisu. Thank you and God bless you.

This is not a Greek restaurant. There are a few genuinely Greek dishes on the menu. Its more a of Mediterranean-Middle Eastern-California eatery with a good bar and a decent wine list. Having said that, the food is good but not sublime. On the other hand, its a bit pricey. Service was great.

Great place for authentic Mediterranean food and atmosphere. The staff is most professional and uses a crumber tool which puts them at the top of my list of restaurants for cleanliness. The food is 5+ stars. My favorite dishes thus far are Santorini Mezze Tasting, Roasted Butternut Squash, and Sea-bass entree.
