Chic Vibes and Great Drinks at Granville, Pasadena

While my friends were visiting from the Bay Area, we decided to explore Pasadena for brunch and drinks. Living in West Covina and being new to the area, I’d heard great things about Granville and thought it would be the perfect spot for a fun outing. It did not disappoint!

Granville’s rooftop bar and indoor bar both offer a stylish and chic ambiance, with dim lighting that adds to the sophisticated vibe. It’s a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, whether you’re on the rooftop with a view or nestled inside.

We tried a few cocktails, including the Whiskey Sour, Espresso Martini, and Cosmo—each one was expertly crafted and absolutely delicious. The drinks alone made the visit worthwhile, and it’s definitely a spot for anyone who appreciates quality cocktails in a beautiful setting.

Although we were there mainly for the drinks and the ambiance this time, I’m already looking forward to coming back to try the food. Granville’s vibe and menu are calling me back for a full dining experience!

Granville Took Brunch to New Heights (Literally)

Granville wasn't just brunch, it was a symphony for the senses. From the freshly ground espresso to the ethereal orange zested French toast, every bite was a revelation. The steak and eggs were pure perfection, paired with delicious spiced potatoes that had me wanting more. But the real star was the rooftop seating – a beautiful open-air space that elevated the entire experience. Don't miss this!

The pork chop is delicious.!It is my favorite.! Poke bowl is so beautiful! Perfect for lunch! Love the ambiance! Roof top is gorgeous! On a good day, you can see the mountains…the bar area with the booth is very private.. so depend on your preference or mood.. this restaurant has so many options to choose from!!! Went in on a Saturday evening and didn't have to wait for a table, but we did get seated inside. The rooftop is much nicer if you can swing it. The food was pretty good, recommend the Peri peri chicken and the angel hair pasta with shrimp

An overall amazing dining experience. I think what elevates it to another level is how aesthetic the atmosphere is. Dining on the rooftop just feels amazing. The food is superb, delicious and beautiful, and the service is exquisite. They do not do reservations, and there is ALWAYS a line on weekends.

I once had a bad experience at the Burbank location. However this place seems to have gotten their act together. The food was fine a little small but fine. But the drinks, drink menu and bartenders were impressive. Attentive bartenders despite the ample size of this place. Knowledgeable too. I had 2 penicillins and a Hemingway daiquiri. My associate had a sidecar bourbon and wine. I've had drinks at the bar and outside where the bartenders open up a window and you are served from the outside. Pretty cool

Excellent service from the very start. Hostess told us it would be a wait, but they were very efficient and professional. That food was very good . This place probably works best as a bar more than a restaurant from my experience during a weekend lunch. It was a Sunday because I was too cheap to pay for parking any other day going into Pasadena. You d have to pay on most streets or pay on the so-called public parking lot. The wait to sit was minimal, I wasn t too thrilled sitting next to the stairs due to falling objects (dust and debris) and an uncomfortable view given the restrooms were upstairs and a fair amount of constant traffic. I understand wait staff wages are disproportionately high here so the service was ok for what its worth. The food felt flat on their faces. We order the taco combo, a burger, beef Stroganoff pasta, and a tiny steak combo. I think the Stroganoff was the only decent piece. The rest are forgettable. The taco got no flavor, the chicken I had was like straight up boiled chicken breast nugget-ish bits. Didn t taste anything at all beyond dry chicken. The burger would have been beaten by an IN-n-OUT. Super rare that I ate a no drip burger. This was achieved here. I regret ordering it medium. Same story with the steak. Tiny piece, ordered medium but well done as it was executed. Maybe it sat somewhere too long as the food temperature was way ambient when they arrived on a cool day in Pasadena. The beef paste came in a claying pot so that it survived the temperature plunge. The chip that came with the burger was not good. Either I am clueless or are they supposed to be greasy on the bottom end, chewy in the middle, somewhat crisp on top where that s all you see when they arrive in a cup. The chips were also inconsistent in their physical thickness that compounded the side to side and chip to chip results. I did say this should be a bar and serve exclusively so. Not to the staff s fault, the tap water is distinctively tap water. A filter might have helped or it s suggesting other thirst crunching options should be the way to go. Or perhaps everything could have tasted much better after a lot of drinks.

omg! cant believe I waited years to come here! Very LA chic, I had beef stroganoff which was to die for, and I m picky with my beef stroganoff! My friend had a brunch item: (it was a Saturday) wagyu beef tacos, she was very happy with it. All in all, a very nice experience and good place to eat out. Parking: There is a parking structure near by but it s not cheap. I parked on Saturday on the street so it was free that day.

Food was good, but service was terrible. We went for non alcoholic drinks and appetizers. The drinks came out pretty quickly, but we waited over 30 min for bread and butter, chips and dip, and tacos (nothing complicated and it wasnt that busy when we ordered). It was pretty clear that our server, Ebon, was more interested in bigger bill tables. At one point he vanished for so long that we had to flag down another server to find him. After we paid he vanished for good and we had to ask the hostesses to get him so that we could pay and leave a tip. We were there for 90 min in the end, which was ridiculous for what we ordered.

Very Trendy, very spirited, full of energy Restaurant with the MOST DELICIOUS BURGERS! It will melt beautifully in your Mouth. COURTESY if this very Handsome, and muy GUAPO, muy Amable Manager named EDUARDO. Along with the sweet and kind, lovely Amal. Anyway, there are three Big rooms to accomodate people that Lunch. Its def a place to be seen. A lot of Goodlooking men that work in finance haha Kidding. The main hall, I call it that due to the very tall and High ceilings making it look almost Palacial. They also a Boast a lil rooftop dining on the third floor complete with an Elevator. Quite charming and warm patio luncheon feels up there. Luxurious right? Finally the third room which looks very Cafe-ish. Also darling. All in all I had a really Great Time due to my rapport with Eduardo. Hes so CHARMING lol And he made sure to make my ORDER well done to absolute PERFECTION! Im very satisfied and fulfilled with my Amazing and fabulous Blue Cheese Bacon Cheeseburger. The food is very delicious. It is one of my favorite places but it is very very difficult to access. They have a waiting list of hours with empty tables available. For my birthday (today) I wanted to make a reservation and go with my friends and family to eat. For 12 people. They do not have reservations but rather a waiting list. Go and wait 2 hours for a table. And a special requirement. Everyone must be present when entering. Besides, a worker told me that they have a table available for 20 people 2 weeks before my birthday. But now they say that that room does not exist and never existed. My question is. How can I celebrate my birthday there without so much process?

Great brunch spot. The drinks are delicious. The appetizers were also delicious but my birria breakfast tacos were meh. The soufflé egg takes away from the flavor of the birria, even with the cup of consomé. The consomé was tasty and the meat of the birria was seasoned well. But I would come back again but I ll try something different.

Pleasant setting and delicious cuisine for good value for money in PASADENA. Courteous and attentive service. But, the musical atmosphere is too loud, you cant hear the waiter speaking and you have to shout to communicate..this would be a really great place if there was a softer atmosphere

Village Burger made with wagyu beef. Bland, dry, and chewy. I ordered it medium rare and it came out more like medium. Juicy with flavor would have been nice. Sweet potato fries were excellent. Service was pleasant but very slow.

We live nearby and were so happy to finally try Granville on South Lake. Great value for the kids meals, lovely setting on the roof, sweet servers, no complaints! Well be back. And, we went at 5pm on a Sunday to avoid crowds or waits for the rooftop.

Great location. Aesthetically nice. Felt rushed to exit. Food is okay; overpriced for quality. Cocktails are inventive. When they say: we stop serving and close at, this and that time, they are not kidding. They say: no rush but the rush is palpable. Recommendation: extend your weekly and weekend hours. This is a sexy restaurant. Compliments to the designer of this restaurant -I especially loved the nice relaxed atmosphere. I felt like I was in a more upscale restaurant while enjoying my lunch in the middle of the daytime, but I was secretly wanting to return to see what the night time vibe would belike. I enjoyed everything about it from the bread and butter at the start of my meal to the Wagyu beef stroganoff and bacon blue cheeseburger that I tried. Granville left me wanting more-but in a good way.

Great food with an upbeat environment. The rooftop is a great location that has a bar. We love Granville and have dined here several times . Vegetarian options: They offer a plant based option for their sandwiches. The pasta dish was tasty, too. We also enjoyed the pita bread and hummus. Parking: There is a metered parking lot located behind the restaurant. Telsa charging is available. Metered parking on Lake Ave. Wheelchair accessibility: They have elevators to access restrooms and rooftop.

First time going and never again, the food was cold and tasteless and extremely overpriced, i got a cold nasty burger and the waitress got all of the food items wrong and was rude and proceeded to include herself over $70 in tip and she asked if we wanted to tip again, the fact that they include themselves a tip is insane for the terrible service.

Ive been returning customer for many years. I know their service always be kind of slow. Only because the good food I always revisit. This years dineLA gave me a IMPRESSIVE memory because they didnt allowed customer to box their unfinished food. That was rediculous. Last year dineLA there was nothing like that. All other restaurants Ive been allow customers to box their unfinished food as well. Thats non sense, very disappointed. Would never go again. Im not only visit this restaurant during dineLA. BUT this time really pissed me off. They use this unreasonable excuse to ask customer waste their food. Thats is very wastful and not grateful for what we have what we paid.

People, I can attest to the negative comments posted here about their service. Service is almost non existent. Very rude and insincere front desk greeters. Absolutely no empathy or respect for peoples time. There is an enormous opportunity regarding communication, specifically information thats inconstant from one employee to another. Vanessa, who works upstairs was very kind and helpful, she was the star of Granville. She demonstrated exceptional customer service. Way to go Vanessa! She is the reason Im giving a 2 star rating instead of 1. During our visit they also managed to bring out a dirty utensil; which was not very pleasant. The environment was neat, and the food was good. But the negative definitely outweighed the positive. Will not be back. Get your act together folks, this was NOT IT.

The service was excellent. I believe it was our server/bartender who made our dining experience delightful. She was so professional. Food was good, too. I particularly enjoyed the beverages they don t have the conventional sodas, but craft ones. And, the atmosphere was casual, lively, and crowded. The wait was 45 min and the communal table was open, so we sat there. It is highly recommended that you make a reservation in advance since it s the holidays now. **Update: I went back, but this time we sat on the rooftop. It was supposed to be a special night. However, our server sure knew how to make us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. He was not friendly and didn t make our dining experience pleasant. He didn t appear to want to serve. Honestly, I don t wish to sit on the rooftop, if there is a next time.

Wait for a table was supposed to be 15 minutes, ended up being 40. The incompetent hosts couldnt do the one task they have to do. I had to ask why people were being seated before us. Idiots couldnt explain why. Finally seated with 20 minutes till closing. Waitress gave us a 5 minute warning till kitchen closed. Rooftop over rated with uncomfortable seating. Burger was salty and quality has gone down while prices gone up. When it came down to pay the waitress hands over payment device. Be warned the tip percentages are overall calculated! 18% was more like 22%. Tip % is not shown on receipt. Shady business tactics. Huge disappointment. First time at Pasadena location, last time for any.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying brunch at Granville in Pasadena on a Friday. The restaurant wasnt too busy, allowing us to snag a comfy booth seat, which made for a relaxed and pleasant dining experience.We ordered the spicy pasta and spicy chicken, both of which were flavorful and delicious. The dishes had just the right amount of kick to satisfy our spice cravings. To complement our meal, I had a mint matcha iced latte. It was perfectly less sweet, exactly how I prefer it.Overall, Granville provided a delightful brunch experience with great food and comfortable seating. Highly recommended for a relaxed meal with friends or family.

Had pickup from them many times and for most of the time I can see my meal was just over there and there was no one! No one! Who could show up just simply ask me. This place is amazing. My first rooftop dining experience. The day couldnt have been better, the weather was perfect. First off, I went with the artisian bread with a whipped duck fat. AMAZING! For the main course, I was drawn to the waygu beef stroganoff. It came in a cast iron Dutch oven, Son of a beeesh! This was AWESOME! Lay but not least The desert of choice was the Lickity Split. Grossly overpriced food and drinks. $20 for one drink that had barely any alcohol in it. $20 for a burger that I ordered medium that was cooked past well-done - it was the driest, most tasteless burger Ive ever had, so I sent it back. The burger comes with raw onions, so I asked to have the onions cooked - they wanted to upcharge me for this. I will not be back.

I really liked this place. We went with a big group (14 IIRC) from work. Our group was from all over the world. They were able to provide something that everyone truly enjoyed for every dietary desire - from Halal to Vegan to dedicated Carnivores. And this wasnt afterthought modifications, they had actual chef-designed dishes that fit each. Except dessert - an easy point for improvement. Service was great.

We went to the Granville for dinner and loved everything. We had the skirt steak which had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The steak also included mashed potatoes and a salad which made it worth every penny. We also had their Granville salad which was also high quality and fresh. We sat on the roof portion of the restaurant which didnt offer any sort of amazing view but it added to the ambiance of the night and made dining more enjoyable. Service was a little slow but nothing that took away from the evening.

Even at 5pm the dinning areas are fairly noisy. My meal was delicious (if modestly sized) and maybe its just me but 2/3 of the restaurants that I frequent are super-pricey in 2024 (Granville included.) Im pretty sure that restaurant owners and managers wish this topic (prices) would dissipate, but from 2010 to 2018 we saw such stable & reasonable menu pricing and labor costs alone dont explain such steep increases since 2020. Our table service was great, the facility was clean (if cramped) but despite the pluses, I am asking myself more often then ever what a very similar plate of delicious food would cost if prepared in my own kitchen?

We went for brunch/lunch. I loved the sea bream with quinoa and beet salad. The perfect amount of food for a healthy lunch. Additionally, the ambience was great and plenty of space to bring a stroller.

If I cant decide on a place to eat, I always end up at Granville. The food and service are great, and I know Ill have a good time. The rooftop is cute, but a seat anywhere inside is also nice.

Granville Took Brunch to New Heights (Literally) Granville wasnt just brunch, it was a symphony for the senses. From the freshly ground espresso to the ethereal orange zested French toast, every bite was a revelation. The steak and eggs were pure perfection, paired with delicious spiced potatoes that had me wanting more. But the real star was the rooftop seating a beautiful open-air space that elevated the entire experience. Dont miss this!

I had the wagyu beef stroganoff. Not only was it delicious but it was served in a delightful manner, in a smallish cast iron Dutch oven. There was so much I could only eat a small amount and had plenty to take home. Really good food. The music was too loud so people were all talking loudly. Otherwise delightful.

Granville was one of the first restaurants Ive eaten at since movigto Pasadena 2 years ago. Each time Ive gone, the service is always attentive and welcoming. The atmosphere is very trendy and I really do love the open layout overall. The food and drinks have always been a hit for me, Ive tried almost everything on their menu and I havent been disappointed. My go to cocktail is the cu cucumber martini, which is very refreshing! Definitely check them out if youre in the area. Very good for a date night or a group hang.

Waited about 1 hr for a table on Saturday night at about 7. We were able to get seating for 4 in the bar area for drinks while we waited. The Artisan bread & butter was delicious starter if a bit salty. My husband and I are vegan but our friends are not and we REALLY appreciated having more than one option on the menu! I did not try the plant based chicken offered as a substitute on several chicken dishes but what a GREAT offering! I had the Poblano Quinoa without any add-ons, and it had great flavors - just superb! Friends had the Thick Cut Pork Chop, Poblano Quinoa with chicken and Butternut Squash Soup. We liked the fun, buzzy atmosphere and would definitely go to any of their locations again. Highly recommend for vegan and non-vegan mixed groups.

The food is a 5 plus and the waiters and waitresses are fantastic but I feel compelled to write a review about the manager Edwardo who worked Friday night April 5th upon our arrival at 5:30 pm. I have taken my service dog many times to this restaurant. Never a single problem because she has her best on and all of my paperwork attached to her vest. When we walked in, Edwardo said, you can t have this dog dinning in here . I informed him that she was a service dog and that I had a disability. He then illegally asked, what is your disability? Which he is not allowed to do EVER. But I told him about my disability with autoimmune and small fiber neuropathy and he doubled down and said the most outrageous thing to my face. He said, that isn t a disability . I was in a state of shock. I told him it absolutely is a disability and that he is only allowed to ask what the service dog is trained to do for my disability. He never asked that and I had my husband and adult son as witnesses. He relented and we waited for our table and saw three bar stools available so we decided to not wait a long time and just take the open seats at the bar. My service dog laid down perfectly and her tail only was sticking out a little but Edwardo was insistent on harassing us over every little thing and had us moved to a table. He was rude, unprofessional, unethical and completely out of line asking what my disability was and then telling me to my face that that isn t a disability when in fact all of my identification says otherwise. He is the last person who should be greeting customers.

I once had a bad experience at the Burbank location. However this place seems to have gotten their act together. The food was fine a little small but fine. But the drinks, drink menu and bartenders were impressive. Attentive bartenders despite the ample size of this place. Knowledgeable too. I had 2 penicillins and a Hemingway daiquiri. My associate had a sidecar bourbon and wine. Ive had drinks at the bar and outside where the bartenders open up a window and you are served from the outside. Pretty cool

The food was okay. I had the salmon and it was just very bland, as well as the mashed potatoes. The potato and salmon blended together as a tasteless mush, because the fish was served on top of the potatoes, but the dish wasn t terrible overall. With tip and tax, I did pay almost $50 so I don t think I ll be coming back. The atmosphere, however, was nice and the servers were kind. The bread and butter appetizer was also good. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish but I don t think I ll be trying Granville again.

Beautiful location and atmosphere hands down. Portions for the price paid however were a little deflating to me. On average $50 per person for our party we shouldnt need to pick up a burger on the way home if you get my drift.

The host was very welcoming. The restaurant is beautiful, ordered spicy pasta, it was extremely spicy. I do like spicy food, however this was just too much. I had to tell our waitress. She was nice about it, just you could tell she was annoyed. She also cut my mom off when my mom was asking about something. I don t know, it just killed the vibe not really interested in coming back. My plate was remade but by that time.. just threw it in a to go box because it was late.
