Had lunch here for the first time. I like the variety of veggie options, gluten free friendly selections, and customer service. Food arrived promptly. Ashley was friendly and helpful to us. 5 star for service, 3 for food because the food seems too heavy for the healthy options, way too much sauce and dressing for my preference compared to True Food Kitchen.

This place is such a bang for buck . The quality of the food for price is really great . The service also is always top notch. Abe who has helped my family before is always nice, warm and welcoming . Today my sister's plate was late compared to the other orders but after bringing it up to Abe the order came right out. The inside is always nice and clean. The decor gives the place a nice earthy feel with the plants .
Today my family ordered the ahi tuna, arugula salad, salmon and I got a burger . All of the meals were very good and the portion size is just right. Not too much and not too late.
Great food and great service is always a nice combo .

This place is interesting, I thought it was restaurant style, where a server waits on you and takes your order.

It's not, You order your food and pay before you sit down. Then, a server will bring out your dishes.
The food options are all mostly gluten free, vegan. Think of clean eating.
I ordered the chimichurri grass fed steak with mash potatoes and the house salad, and to drink, I got their watermelon pineapple aqua Fresca.

Wait time for our food was less than 5 minutes, but also when we ordered there weren't many people. We ate around 6 pm. The rush of ppl happened around 7-8pm.

The food was good, but nothing I'd rave about to others to try. I think it's great for the prices and if you want to eat out with a large group as everyone can order and pay their own plate before hand and enjoy it all together at one large table with out trying to figure out how to split the bill.

Price point, pretty reasonable, but still on the $$ side. I believe my plate was 18 +tax and the drink was $4 and change(refills are available). It's fast food style (in how you order) but restaurant appearance.
In total, with a plate and drink, it came out to 28. it's a little on the pricer side (which I think they can pull off because it's on lake and menu item options are gluten / vegan/ grass fed mumbo jumbo.

Friendly staff all around, great atmosphere, indoor dining, and outside patio.

Also, if you give a review on Yelp and show a worker, they'll give you a free cookie.

Parking is either paid street parking, but I think after 6pm your fine. There's tons of free parking after 6 behind the walgreens (shoppers lane) or in the Macy's/ trader joes lot. (Which is where I parked), and then I just crossed the street. Again, we went on a Tuesday, so parking was pretty easy to find. I'm sure during the weekend it's madness.

One of my staple, go-to restaurants for consistent, delicious, healthy meals. I have eaten here hundreds of times and they always deliver great food. One mistake I see people make often is not getting the Plate Pass. Unless you are eating here one time alone, GET THE PLATE PASS. It pays for itself in 2 entrees. I have seen people go out in groups of 10+ and could have saved $30+ if one of them got the Plate Pass. Overall though a really great, affordable restaurant that offers amazing quality and healthy food

5 stars for ambience. Fire pit, real plants, and water available. Cute plates and lighting.

Parking is in the garage across the street by Trader Joe’s (recommended) or metered nearby (very limited, unlikely to get a street spot). High foot traffic in the area.

4 stars for food: solid for a small chain, some hits and misses. Garlic mushrooms tasted plain. Brussels sprouts could’ve been crispier but had great flavor - I dug the red wine balsamic vinegar as someone who normally doesn’t care for balsamic. Good fries and mac ‘n cheese. I also liked the tuna, though it could’ve been more seared, and the overall sustainability of the plates.

Overall, would return. Food came out fast too.

Urban Plates is one of the better American chains out there serving up healthy plates and giving the customer flexibility in building their own meal right before them.

I came by on a Saturday evening and it was fortunately not super packed. You first place your order before getting a number and finding a table. Luckily, their menu has clearly marked vegan items which is fantastic.

I went with their Chili Glazed Grilled Tofu Bowl ($12) with a slice of rustic bread. The tofu was grilled nicely and was coated with a sweet and tangy sauce. The bowl includes a side of quinoa and asparagus, two of my favorite accompaniments to a meal.

The interior was also very relaxing and nice, making a good spot for dinner.

Parking is available in a private shared lot. First hour is free with validation.

Ashley and the person that greeted us, Javier, were very polite and helpful. We don’t come here often but when we do, it’s always pleasant! The food is served warm (not hot) but it’s still delicious. We had the chimichurri steak plate and braised beef & mushrooms🍄‍🟫🥩. I tried the chipotle & herb marble potatoes for the first time and they were so flavorful 🌿🥔
‼️FYI- They changed the ordering layout to now you order at the counter first and take a number to your dining table.
🧽 The walls in the dining area could be cleaned a bit better.

Our waiter Ashley A recommended the blackened salmon and it hit the spot x2. We all enjoyed the salmon and the ribs. The ribs were enough to take them home for later. Plate sizes are medium and definitely enough for one person and maybe too big for a kid.

Had dinner last night at the Pasadena location. Great location near all the shops. The food was amazing. My favorite is the mushrooms, mash and steak. I had an issue with my debit card but the cashier Ashley tried a couple times till it finally went thru. I appreciate her patience. She could have easily said its just not working. But she remain patient and pleasant. The patio can be a little noisy but inside the restaurant was good. Service was great overall. Food has been delicious at all the locations Ive visited. Urban Plates is quickly becoming my favorite place for great food at a reasonable price.

Second time here and I feel like my experience overall has been fine. The service has been great both times (Kevin was particularly helpful and informative at the register), but the food is very mediocre. Prices are reasonable, at least, and the atmosphere and vibe feels nice. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available. Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.

They have a large variety of items on their menu. I had the Braised Short Ribs and I thought it was really good. I also had the Mango Tart Slice, which I also liked. The restaurant has a lot of seating and was pretty clean. Price is also decent. It would be cool if an Urban Plates opened by me in NY.

Love this movement of higher end casual dining, and the Urban Plates chain is the cream of the crop. Highest quality ingredients, simple, clean tasting food thats still delicious and worth the price. The meats are tender, the fish fresh, and the sides are savory. I recommend the molasses cookie, though the Cowgirl is second place. Ever since COVID has been over, been repeatedly coming here probably once a week! Great service in Ashley today :-) Another day of amazing service. Parker was amazing!

We were visiting from out of town and happened upon this gem. The chimichurri steak was divine, as were the carrots and beets. My dining partner had the shrimp which was also delicious. This was my first time eating at Urban Plates. I was shocked to find that the service was exceptionally fast and the food was nothing short of fantastic. I ordered the grass fed steak with a side caesar salad and it was delicious! We were served by Marla who was very nice and was wonderful at the register. Annie was a great server who made our experience even better with quick and exceptional service.

Food here is good but wow the portions are so small. You can get a steak sandwich here for $17+ but the size of the sandwich is laughable. Make your portions bigger and Im sure youd have more returning customers.

Ashley and the person that greeted us, Javier, were very polite and helpful. We don t come here often but when we do, it s always pleasant! The food is served warm (not hot) but it s still delicious. We had the chimichurri steak plate and braised beef & mushrooms . I tried the chipotle & herb marble potatoes for the first time and they were so flavorful FYI- They changed the ordering layout to now you order at the counter first and take a number to your dining table. The walls in the dining area could be cleaned a bit better.

This place is amazing. I wish we had something like this in Oakland Oakland, because they have the best food fresh light for when you don t want a heavy stuff that most traditional restaurants have everyone was so kind and polite, and I love the vibe of the atmosphere within it within the building. I will come here again and again when I m in town.

At Urban Plates, my husband and I enjoyed our dinner. Fernando provided us with fast and friendly service; he helped us with our order. We also liked how the lady busser cleaned the tables quickly so we had multiples tables to choose from while waiting for our dinner. The food (Chimichurri steak and grilled BBQ pork ribs) were delivered in a timely manner by our food runner Javier. Our meals were delicious.

I like the food here. Especially the salmon plate. I feel as though I get a high end meal without all of the fuss and stuffiness. You order yourself and help yourself to condiments and utensils. Ashley took our order and was helpful.

The food is fine. They were out of turkey, which half of our party had intended to order, but not the end of the world. Nothing was either extraordinary or terrible, but that s fine. The 3% surcharge is not fine, however. I m not sure how it has slipped past me in visits past, but evidently it did. I wouldn t have returned otherwise. My assumption is that they state that the surcharge goes towards benefits for full time employees, like most places with a surcharge claim. But anyone who has even loose ties to the restaurant community knows that very few restaurant employees are full time. So those fees tend to benefit managers, who are already making more than their staff. In theory, surcharges seem fine. But when you pull the layers back, they re not great for consumers or the bulk of employees.

Ashley was working the register and she was so friendly!! Amazing customer service and very welcoming vibe to the place. As for the food, it was delicious as always and good for the price. Around $24 for a big plate of a protein and 2 sides and a drink. Definitely recommend sitting outside in the sun!!

Everyone is putting good reviews for ashley all for just a free cookie. But actually she s the opposite of 5 stars. The way she treated me and my friends was horrible. I m guessing ashley heard my friend say a different order so we went back to correct her and get a refund for what my friend wanted. And all she was doing is getting upset and giving me a very nasty look. When I m telling you, she s not who you think she is. She was very disrespectful. 1 star, get fired ashley! Everyone else was great. I could leave more details but I m keeping it easy on her. Not coming here again. The food was not bad though.

I absolutely love the ambiance at Urban Plates, what a lovely establishment. I can t believe I ve lived in Pasadena for 2 years now and yesterday was my first time dining. I came in with a friend for an early dinner and was amazed at all the different meals. We were greeted by Ashley who was so kind and offered us old gals a menu to look at so we didn t crook our neck. I ordered the blackened salmon and cauliflower , suggested by Ashley, and it did not disappoint. I also love the fact that I was able to order from the kids menu, which was just the right amount of food. Will definitely return. Thank you, Ashley!

I ended up making back-to-back visits to Urban Plates during one of my busiest work weekends to date, needing a quick but satisfying meal between gigs. My first visit was inspired by the insane amount of positive google reviews. I ordered the steak plate (rare) and it took about 10 minutes that proved to be well worth the wait. I left a paltry trip and felt bad and also needed coffee, so I ordered an iced coffee so I could leave a better tip. The coffee was marvelous! The second visit I brought a friend and he loved it, too! I ordered the chicken Caesar salad but got the cobb salad and wasnt the least bit mad about it: quite an upgrade when I got my cesar dressing and the chicken was SPECTACULAR. Special shouts out to Manager Mike (who went out of his way to get my iced coffee my first visit), Javier (couldnt have been sweeter), Uma, and Ashley!
