RIP to Numero Uno. (Picture provided was from Numero Uno large deep dish. Note the same $30 price and you only get 4 slices of whats in the picture now with Gastropub.) Gastropub has taken over this location. The deep dish is different and recipe has changed. Now called Chicago style. At Numero Uno $30 was a large or normal sized pizza and it was a better recipe. Crispy on the outside. The new Chicago style at Gastropub not only was half the portion for the same price, but also not crispy on the outside. Tasted fine but more was desired. Time to find a new deep dish pizza place again. Numero Uno was the best. Now its just a memory... 0 of 5 Stars for reducing portion size by 50%.

Excellent food with a wide range of beers on tap. There is always great music playing, and also sports, so its a great after-work spot to unwind. The atmosphere is pleasant, with recently redecorated interiors. Vegetarian options: Plenty of non-meat toppings and dish options. Parking: Large lot that also wraps around the back of the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly with an open dining area that has tvs and videos playing and creates a fun atmosphere. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible - no steps or or obstacles on the property.

This is not a gastropub. There is no bar and half the beers on the menu they did not have the beer menu is a total disaster - was told we ran out this morning we re waiting on a beer delivery . Well news flash- That only happens when you don t pay your distributor! Ordered a 12 deep dish (only had 6 slices). $27. And a 9 2-topping thin crust(4 tiny slices). $19. Waited 1.25 hours for both pizzas to be served. All the other tables experienced the same delay. One patron left after waiting over an hour for a sandwich. Asked for the bill then the pizza showed up ?? When the food came - measured the 9 pizza to be about an 8 at most an obvious rip off for $19 so sent it back. Not the wait staffs fault but three of us left hungry. All their 4 stars reviews are paid for and are not a true customer account. I don t write reviews just don t want others to be deceived, dissatisfied and price gouged. My advice - far better places locally for way less.

I recently tried the Chicago deep dish at this gastropub and was very disappointed. It was expensive and lacked flavor, and the portion size was quite small. This place is now a let down, and they some how think selling out of their Chicago style pizza is some sort of a flex. A brick and mortar store should never sell out of a main menu item. They should just return to Numero Uno. That was the best pizza around.

With discount was still 80.00 and all 4 came with VERY little chz. 2 were suppose to be Chicago deep dish and all it was- was nearly reg dough thickness, no flavor and as stated definitely was not oozing with chz. Dont recommend this place at all- workers were very nice but food SUCKED !!!

This new Chicago style needs to go back to Chicago. If you believe that pizza is good youve never had good pizza. The owner is awesome and super friendly. The pizzas are super good and the crushed red peppers are spicier than normal. Theyre going for a more pub feel and its nice. lots of drinks to choose from along with a ton of new menu items well definitely be back! Vegetarian options: My husband and I are vegetarian. I ve been a long customer to the Numbero Uno restaurant. It recently changed to the Gastropub which is more focused on a pub style restaurant. And my review is for the pizza. It s not a Chicago style pizza which is more focused on the cheese than anything. But in all honestly it did not hit the spot at all even for a Chicago style pizza. The original dough and ingredients and taste from the original Numbero Uno pizza is 10X better. Sadly after 10 years of going there I will probably not be going back.

Wow this is a disappointing change. Not only did the waitress tell us half the things we wanted on the menu they didn t have anymore (which is weird because they just reopened under this new name with a new menu), but they can t even accommodate a 1/2 topping pizza? The service took for forever just to take our drink order (no it wasn t busy) and our server seemed uninterested in working in general. It s hard to believe this is the same owner as Numero Uno because we stopped by for years any time we took the 210. Thankfully, Maria s is across the street and they were happy to accommodate our family.

Excellent food! i came here expecting numero uno pizza, and was disapointed that it is NOT numero uno anymore. HOWEVER i was pleasently surprised with an entirely new experience of pizza. we tried both the thin crust pizza, and the deep dish pizza. the deep dish is very different. unique. unlike any pizza ive ever had before. it was a great new experience. i loved it, and it really sets this restaurant apart from anywhere else ive been. highly recommended if youre up for trying something new. if not, then the thin crust pizza is more of the traditional pizza, and is also really great. the next great thing is the service. the staff here are great. they are super polite and friendly, and really add to the dining experience.

Pizza here was delicious. I had the thin crust but the Chicago style looked just as tasty. For chicken wings theres an option for breaded or naked which I chose, you can tell a lot of the quality of a chicken wing when you order it without the breading as there is nothing to hide. The chicken was meaty and well cooked. Theres music videos playing as well as some sports.

Review β„–59

Food is great and service is great however it s pretty expensive. The atmosphere is seriously lacking. I am impressed with the remodel and the selection of beer as well as the selection of food that breaks away from just pizza. I m not sure what crowd they are trying to appeal to though. The classic 80s and 90 s rock on every Tv is too much. The music is too loud to even talk to anybody and it s not exactly family friendly with Marylin Manson, tool and Motley Crue playing graphic music videos. On the other hand maybe it s not geared towards family s since it s now a gastropub. I would come with my buddies to try out the beers but again the choice of music isn t very fun. It s aged and too repetitive. I will always love the pizza but the new look isn t quite working. If they could change the music to all different genres like radio hits that would be better. Additionally I go to pubs and bars to see games and sporting events. If they changed the TVs to show that more than odd music videos I d give this spot a 5 star.

Numero Uno pizza has been a favorite of mine for years. Especially since Mediterranean and Italian foods are in my top five. I am fortunate to live near one since many of the franchises have been closed for many years. The food is always fresh, tasty and filling. My favorite dishes are the Slaughterhouse Five Pizza, The House Salad, and The Meat Lasagna; which can also be prepared as vegetarian. The owner and sometimes even the chef are on hand to serve customers. The staff is friendly. Since the restaurant is located near a residential area, most customers are from the neighborhood and regularly support the establishment. For the nutritional value and price comparison, it s hard to beat!

They make it so difficult to place an order, i now refuse to patronize their restaurant. They loose so much business because of their horrible ordering process, that anyone and everyone i know that likes their pizza, refuses to buy pizza there. I do not know how the owner stays in business. When ever Numero Uno pizza comes up in conversation, the very next thing mentioned is how it is impossible to place an order. Last time i eat there two individual customer came in and asked to speak to management over how frustrated they were with their system of doing business. Again love, their pizza. I used to come here a lot when I lived in Cali and was excited to be able to have it again after so long, living in Oregon. I doubt that I will ever eat here again. I have to say I think their thick crust and chunks of tomatoes are excellent but not worth all the money they charge. I didnt taste ANY pepperoni at all on my pizza that was an additional 2 dollars. They are ALL about charging outrageously for little things that should be included with their high prices like a side of pepperoncinis or extra dressing. 18 dollars for a salad??? No meat, over sized pieces of lettuce??? The seats were very uncomfortable, and the music was a little too loud.

The saving grace was the juicy tomatoes. Excellent service, but I wish the food tasted as good as I was treated. Vegetarian options: Veggies Parking: Small lot

This family based establishment still holds tried and true to their hand made Chicagoish style deep dish pizza. Ingredients always free and flavorful and the consistency of toppings is like their giving it away. The owner (father) has been there for 17yrs and still going but now with a more modern take as his son has stepped into the picture. Not only is the pizza amazing but so is everything else on the menu, no cap. The only thing better than the food is their customer service. They will go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful dining experience. Hands down this place is worth the drive whether you like 10miles away or over 100miles. They updated the restaurant decor, tables and chairs. Like the new look. Thier take out is as busy as the indoor dining. We got mozzarella sticks and chicken wings for appetizers. We each got our favorite personal pizza, my husband and son like the chunky tomato, but I dont. They always ask if you want it. You can get thier traditional deep dish or thin crust. My daughter opted for the chicken Alfredo. Parking: It shares the parking with a few other store fronts and a Del Taco sometimes the parking lot is really full but we usually have no problems getting a spot.

I used to love the deep dish but often it s not fully cooked in the center. I never had a problem with her pizzas not being cooked all the way through until the last few years mind you I ve been going to here for probably 20 years or more. You have to ask them to bake it a little longer because otherwise you re going to taste wet dough in the center which is the worlds worst feeling when you pay so much money for it. Also they do not do delivery which is extremely inconveniencing. The pizza is good enough that I could finish baking at home L O L I would go there more often if they would give me incentives, discounts and such but since they don t I just don t really go there anymore. That s a shame. Vegetarian options: They need a whole subset of vegan options!!! They d attract more people.

Came here for the first time in ages and the deep dish pizza is still fantastic! I ordered a Meat Supreme Individual Size and it was cheesy with a perfectly doughy crust. Their pricing for pizza size is a bit steep but they offer easy online ordering and a nice dining room as well. Free parking in lot.

Im leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because 1 the pizza is good, but the service is absolute trash. I tried ordering a pizza online because they have a coupon code, but I was having trouble placing the order, so I called and they said I could order the pizza in person. I step inside, and they say they cant apply the coupon because its online order only, so they wasted my time and gas money by telling me I can order the pizza in person discounted. Boomers so tied up in their technology, they cant give me a bloody few dollar discount because theyre either too lazy or stupid, or theyre rolling in so much dough they dont care. I pray your business goes under, and you boomers are left to rot in sheds behind the retirement home. Choke on pepperoni

This pizza is the stuff of legends. My family has been eating it for over 30 years, and now that there are so few branches, we will travel an hour round trip for it. Deep dish realness and as with all good pizza, the magic is in the bread. Though the blankets of cheese and perfect sweet tomatoes to start with as a base don t hurt. Loads of family memories have been shared around these slices. The staff is really courteous, restaurant has a chill vibe and, yeah, those bathrooms are bleachy clean, which is quite comforting.

Im only giving it 2 stars and thats because of the service. The staff is very friendly and courteous. On the other hand the pizza...lets just say the dough is the best part. The deep dish is actually pan pizza the thin crust is ok. The sauce is very bland no flavor and the cheese is the worst its like plastic, maybe low quality. All this makes it absurd for the prices they are charging.

I stopped in early and had the lunch special. It consisted of an individual size pizza and a drink. I really enjoy their pizza. I had it thick crust. There is a sweet flavor that is offset perfectly by the tanginess of the tomato and sauce. Its very unique. The crust is crisp on the bottom with a buttery flavor, the rest of the crust is slightly chewy and dense but not overly so. Just right in my opinion. Final plus, the staff was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, live over 50 miles away from the closest Numbero Uno so I dont go as much as Id like.

I think they put rotten cheese on my pizza. I LOVE Numero Uno!!! I drove from Cerritos to Pasadena to get this pizza. I ate a piece on the way home and instantly felt extremly nauseous. I thought maybe it was becuase I ate too fast, it made me so sick I didnt eat another piece til lthe next day. right away was was nauseous .. the cheese didnt look right it looked clear and slimy not the normal white it usually looks and it tasted very bitter. I had to throw it away.

Although we were here for pick up, everyone was very friendly and pleasant during our brief wait. Additionally, when we entered they were cleaning the front and as we left they were cleaning, which demonstrates their genuine concern for their customers. Thank you so much for that consideration.
