Great sandwiches. They have pretty good selection and they have all been delicious. The best part is the bun, they are so soft and the sandwich just melts in your mouth. They serve the sandwiches with a salad too which is quite healthy. They are great for catering too. Portions are a bit too small for me but overall it is very delicious.

We found another healthy eating choice in the urban café in Pasadena. The atmosphere is chilled, laid back, and casual—plenty of areas to sit hi-boys, Booths, and outdoor seating on Lake Avenue. The customer service is friendly and welcoming. The waiter brought our orders quickly and checked if we needed anything several times. I eventually asked for more of the sauce on my Ahi Tuna bowl and later for another piece of bread, and the same waiter brought it with a good attitude and a smile.

While chatting up our waiter we discovered he was the manager, Ben. He told us Urbane Cafe is a family-run business with 31 locations. Our plates had a good presentation, tasted good, and were fresh. We deducted a few points because we are used to a higher grade ahi tuna. However, the tuna we had was perfectly seared. The manager brought us some free cookies because it’s their tradition for first-timers. Remember to tell them Omar sent you when you visit, and don’t forget to get your free cookies.

This is my second time having Urbane cafe, but first time actually eating in the cafe. Their menu is diverse, catering not only to various tastes but also offering options for kids and vegans. The bright modern decor offers a welcoming experience with plenty of seating indoors and few outdoors. There is free 90 minute parking in the back lot shared with the other establishment on this block of Lake Ave.

During this visit, I opted for the Santa Maria BBQ chicken salad, which turned out to be a good choice. To sweeten the experience, I also selected four different cookies to share with my friends. The food was a hit, and the relaxed ambiance added to the overall enjoyment. The service was fast and friendly even though there were people ahead of my friend and I. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends, Urbane Cafe offers a satisfying blend of convenience, menu variety, and in a comfortable setting.

So healthy and tasty and has the BEST chocolate chip cookie (so yummy, better than Panera’s)!!!! That is always my highlight of coming here.

I love their sandwiches and salads. They are ALL tasty and good for you!

I have come here multiple times and eaten many times outside and inside. There is always seating!

I came with a group of 7 people and we were able to get the big table inside (today is a scorcher of 100 degree weather)!

Parking is plenty outside. Bathrooms require a code but it’s clean inside and the AC felt great!!

There is free water and napkins provided as well 😀

I highly recommend this place and pricing is average ($15 for a sandwich that comes with a side salad).

Urbane Cafe was one of the pioneers in the farm to table restaurant concept. Not to be confused with Urth Cafe, this healthy eat sandwich and salad restaurant has a unique menus catering to farm to table freshness. It doesn’t serve coffee but fountain drinks.

In 2003, Tim Holt opened its first sandwich shop in Ventura and then expanded to multi-locations. It’s menu is very similar to Mendocino Farm that’s few steps away on Lake. It makes its bread on site fresh. So all the sandwiches are made using the freshly out of oven bread.

Cranberry Brie turkey sandwich seemed to the winner here. My wife and a couple of friends ordered that today when we had lunch there after church. The combination of cranberry and Brie seemed to please many People’s eating palates. It’s the most popular items on the menu.

I wanted to compared their Banh Mi to Mendocino Farm’s. So I got a chicken Banh Mi. I felt that the Banh Mi at Mendocino was tastier with more depth in flavor.

My other friend got the Mediterranean salad bowl with chicken. It looked healthy and yummy. Maybe I will try that next time.

For fast and casual dinning, this is a popular restaurant to try out.

This is one good place to go if you like fresh salad, grain or noodle bowls and sandwiches. The focaccia bread is baked in house and is used to prepare all their sandwiches. The beef chimichurri and cilantro chicken are family favorites. The freshly baked cookies are chewy and delicious. One can’t go wrong with their double chocolate cookie and the cranberry white chocolate.

I order the portobello mushroom sandwich ALL the time from Urbane. This time around it looked like they used canned mushrooms. They were rubbery and had that off grey color of canned mushrooms. If you dont have portobello mushrooms available, then temporarily remove the portobello mushroom sandwich from the menu. Furthermore, if youre going to use canned mushrooms then charge canned mushroom prices and NOT portobello mushroom prices. I will not be ordering from them again.

Focaccia bread was freshly made and warm, and the greens of the salad also very fresh and crisp. The portobello mushroom in the mushroom sandwich was very flavorful. My only reservation is the sun dried tomato spread instead of actual sun dried tomatoes. Very healthy plant based choices.

Last year I had surgery. The night before the surgery we ordered from Urbane Cafe as a treat. Everyone in my family received their orders except me. I was already nervous because of the impending surgery, so this did not help. I ended up eating a bowl of cereal. My familys food was just so so. On Friday night we thought wed give them another chance. I mean how could this possibly happen again. Well, fool me once shame on them, fool me twice shame on me. This time they forgot my husbands order. Now, we do not have a lot of money so ordering food is a very special treat. The food received wasnt even that good. And, their prices have skyrocketed. I was very upset. It makes me sad that there is such a lack of pride in their customer service practices. We will NEVER order from them again. To some this might not seem like a big deal, for me it was. I hope this post helps to prevent anyone else from having this type of experience.

Urbane Cafe, located on Lake Ave. They offer a delicious selection of sandwiches, bowls, salads, soups, and cookies. I like their Dragon Fruit Agua Fresca its not too sweet and refreshing. Im also a fan of the Bundaberg Brewed Blood Orange drink. My favorites are the UC Banh Mi and the Pastrami Tri Tip. The UC Banh Mi has roasted chicken, pickled veggies, and sweet chili aioli. The Pastrami Tri Tip features pastrami, Swiss cheese, apple coleslaw, and pickles. Both come with an Urbane side salad. I still want to try their other sandwiches, bowls, and soups. You must try their freshly baked cookies! My favorite is the chocolate chip. Jesse provided excellent customer service, was very attentive and welcoming, answered all my questions, and recommended some cookie flavors to try. The rest of the staff was also friendly and greeted us warmly. Because of Jesse s outstanding service, I will definitely be back.

This spot in Pasadena is a MUST!!! The restaurant was clean, food was served super fast and was delicious, the cashier and the server provided AMAZING customer service very kind and friendly which made us feel very WELCOMED! I had not visited a restaurant with all of these important details in YEARS!!!! One small detail that I wish they had is a house coffee to perfect their business, I think coffee is essential in these kind of restaurants other than that 1000 out of 10!!!

I came here for a healthier fare. I liked that nutrition information was provided. Everything is prepared fresh. You order and then they give it to go but you can eat there. Clean restaurant with updated modern decor. I had a chicken sandwich with Brie and it was a solid 10/10. I also had a salad. Definitely recommend and sad we don t have this in Canada.

Stopped in on Friday evening looking for something light. Young man and woman behind the counter were very kind and inviting. Gave me a sample of thier 2 house soups( chicken enchilada? And tomato bisque) both were outstanding. The cranberry cookie and white chocolate lemon cookie were also great. I will be back for sure next time Im in Pasadena.

Jasmine M is an employee who works at the register and takes phone orders. She is very rude and unfriendly, no customer service skills whatsoever. If she does not want to be there, then she should go and work somewhere else. Customer should not have to deal with that. Other than that, the food is pretty good, it s just a shame that some of their employees ruin the experience.

This place never disappoints! Used to to to the one in Northridge, food always tastes fresh and great! I came to Pasadena location, staff were more than positive, happy to be working. I came a little late but Jessie (one of the employees)told me not to rush and was more than understanding. Food was great as usual. Great spot! And great staff!

Good food, good service, clean store, good outside patio, and staff is very accommodating. Parking: Around dinner time, it was very hard to find an available parking spot in the back parking lot. Luckily, I found an available parking spot on the one-way street behind the parking lot, East of the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu, and there were a couple of kids there when I first got there. Wheelchair accessibility: Theres wheelchair accessibility from the front or the back of the restaurant.

DIABETICS beware. Came here yesterday and had the keto salad and got a diet coke from the machine myself. It tasted weird, but I made sure that the fountain dispenser said diet coke. It was bothering me so I tested it by pouring a small amount in a dish and nuking it. It dried out STICKY. Which means it was regular coke or who knows what else with CORN SYRUP in it. *SIGH* Please have better quality control. I watch my sugar intake and its ESPECIALLY harmful/potent in liquid form like this.

Like other Urbane Cafe locations, the atmosphere is modern, warm, and inviting. The service from start to finish is great! Orders were prepared exactly as requested. Soups and sandwiches were served hot and fresh! The fresh-baked bread is the best, especially if it just came out. Highly recommended!

The other night a young woman named Audrey was patronizing and showed a complete lack of respect making a scene getting loud with a senior customer while my kids and I were waiting on our order it made us feel uncomfortable the way Audrey belittled the lady at the end my family and I come here twice maybe three times a week but this was uncalled for don t think we d like to come back with that kind of customer service that senior customer is someone s grandma have a little respect it s not hard

The food here is always delicious. They make the bread in-house. I would come here just to order the bread or the Japanese garlic dressing. Its the one to get and always substitute it for the balsamic vinegar. The service is great!

I normally dont get sick easily, but after eating here I did. I was going to Mendocino Farms, and passed by this place, and saw a long line at MFs and not a person here so, I decided to give Urbane Cafe a try. First time coming here so, I got a grilled chicken sandwich I forgot the name. They cooked it in front of me pretty quick so, I thought the chicken was precooked. I ate it, it was okay. Later that day, I didnt feel so fab. I was burping sour chicken for days. I thought I might need to go to the hospital. As for me getting sick like this, you know they gave me bad food. If you come here, dont get anything chicken. I dont recommend this place.

I happened to be walking by and saw they were having their grand opening. I hadnt planned on eating here but decided to check it out. I got the Santa Maria BBQ. It was ridiculously delicious. The bbq flavor was one of the best I have ever tasted on a sandwich. I think what really added to the deliciousness was the fresh bread. The salad was fresh and very tasty as well. Their cookies looked amazing, but I did not partake this visit. While the customer service did not factor into my 5 star rating, I have to say, everyone was extremely nice and helpful. You could tell that since it was their first day that there were some people learning, but the management (the owner was there) were over the top patient with their new employees and you could tell it was a very friendly and professional working environment and the employees were very kind and happy to answer all my questions.

So I placed an online order, the order is ready, I told him I m here to pick up an order and he turns and sees the bag ready behind him, Still i had to wait for couple of minutes until the employee finished filling a paper he was working on? Couldn t he turn his back, handle the bag and then do his own business without delaying a customer? You guys missing something, it called professionalism .

Got a ahi tuna salad from here and it was so good! Definitely recommend!! Wish we had more closer in OC

A nice addition to the fast casual dining scene in Pasadena. Corner Bakery and Panera Bread can only satisfy me for so long; Im glad I came to try this place. Ive been here for lunch and early dinner and so far Ive tried the chimichurri steak and the southwest chicken. CHIMICHURRI STEAK SANDWICH Amount of meat was on the skimpy side and the flavor was seriously lacking; I was also expecting the chimichurri flavor to stand out a bit more. SOUTHWEST CHICKEN SANDWICH By far the better of the two sandwiches that Ive tried. Roasted chicken with corn, beans, avocado, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle aioli sauce. The chipotle aioli gave a nice kick and the cajun flavored chicken was moist and flavorful. Would definitely get this again. I have to mention that their foccaccia bread is amazing. I even bought an order of it to take home with me (ate it with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar, so damn good). Solid option when you want a quick but quality lunch. Oh, and their lemonade and craft sodas are pretty legit, check them out.

SO GOOD! Just had my first meal here actually and had the new fiesta protein bowl (think that was the name) Mmmmm wow wide variety of ingredients and really like how it s not all mixed together, separately placed to compliment and all so fresh and tasty and the ladies there super nice. I went back the next day for the other new bowl, a soy asian veggie

Food is good. Service with a smile. Its a great place to go on a rainy day the food will make u feel warm and toasty inside even if its freezing cold out (yeah right not in so. Cali )

Cant go wrong with this place. Their homemade bread takes all the credit along with nicely seasoned sandwiches. Customer service is up there at the top. The staff greets you nicely and you will leave smiling. Southwest chicken sandwich here is love.
