I dined here for my dad s birthday based on the glowing reviews but left disappointed. At this price point, I expected exceptional service, yet I found myself repeatedly asking for basic items like water and bread. The oyster starter was underwhelming seemingly drained of their natural juices, leaving them quite dry. The A5 wagyu appetizer was forgettable, offering little to justify its premium price. The Australian wagyu steak was a highlight, earning a solid 8/10, and the white truffle risotto side dish was delicious. However, at $85 for the risotto nearly the cost of my $98 steak the staff should have flagged the price. The pumpkin cheesecake was forgettable, but they did bring out a nice cheesecake for my dad. You get a little thing of cotton candy at the end which was cute. Overall, the meal didn t feel like a $500+ experience for a party of three. Perhaps the standards in Pasadena are lower? Adding to the disappointment, I arrived early and attempted to order a drink at the bar, only to find a single bartender handling the entire restaurant s orders. I never got a drink, which, combined with the dinner experience, suggests the restaurant is significantly understaffed.

I came here late Sunday for my birthday as of my girlfriends treat. I think this might be the best steakhouse Ive been to. give or take its similar prices to other one such as Ruth Chris Fleming etc. the Mac and cheese was so good we bought one to go. They forgot to bring the bread but they gave a little appetizer that was delicious. I never had a5 wagyu so maybe thats why I loved it here but it was amazing. They also gave me a free dessert for my birthday and comped my drink which was amazing but wasnt to their standard, and I appreciate that, it shows they care. Asparagus was delicious. I also like that the plate wasnt hot, just a personal preference. They give you cotton candy at the end which I thought was neat. I had a latte and thought it was amazing as well. Im scared to go back because we spent almost 500 on just the two of us but damn it was good. My waiter was Fabian. An amazing professional who made my birthday experience over the top and one to remember

Wife brought me here for my 40th. Ive had a ton of steaks from coast to coast. Easily top 3. Perfect crust. Perfectly seasoned. Get the Australian Wag Ribeye. I cant wait to go back.... ...I tell the chef behind the grill great job. The brother replies it was all of us, we are a team. That kind of culture shows in the food and the service.

I recently dined at this restaurant (this week) and found the experience disappointing. The interior design was impressive to my liking, in black and white color....the atmosphere was uncomfortably TOO dark, as if we were eating in a cave, and unable to see clearly. And the food did not live up to expectations. The Austrian steaks (over $100+ each person for the small piece of meat only) were overcooked, soooo dry, overly salty, as if it was cooked in a soy sauce and got burned: and certainly not worth the $100+ price 6-8zo tag. And the Chinese broccoli was sooo salty, soaked in soy sauce. The only highlight was the starter (seafood), which was tasty and well-presented. On the bright side, the service was great, but it wasn t enough to make up for the subpar meal. The waiter gave us 3 kinds of desserts, tried to make it up for the bad taste of the steaks. I would have just made a new one for each guest. The worst steak ever tasted. And there was a lady was so loud, chatting and laughing, as if she was on a street market. The employee or manager did nothing. What a shame. Given the high cost (bill was under $1000) and overall experience, I won t be returning.

It pains me to have to leave this review. My wife and I have dined at Alexander s for years, since it first opened. We have hosted large birthdays with 18+ people, we have enjoyed the private chef tasting. We have been here for every phase of the restaurant. We have referred dozens of friends and acquaintances. In the past, the thing we boasted about was the Szechuan rub on the steaks. It is a numbing spice that is out of this world well it used to be. The new chef has removed it from the menu, much to our dismay. Since that removal, we have only dined there once, and we may not return if they don t add that option back to the menu. That s how much of a game changer it is. We get that new chefs want to make their mark, but this isn t how to do it. We have spoken to a few friends that used to be frequent diners, and they expressed the same sentiment. Have you ever watched the beginning of the downfall of a restaurant? It usually starts with upsetting loyal customers. We will see how Alexander s responds. ** Edit** It s great when restaurants pay attention to their loyal customers. There have been some changes , likely based on customer experience , and the restaurant and overall dining experience is headed back in the direction that we have come to love and appreciate

The location of the restaurant is good, you can see the night view of the city hall from the window, the food is good, and the service of the service staff is also very attentive. This time we shared the tomahawk steak, and we will give you marshmallows at the end, of course! The price is relatively high.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the greatest dining experience I have ever had. Everything was absolutely perfect. Immaculate service and gorgeous interior. The food was out of this world too, stunning and delicious. The A5 miyazaki wagyu steak was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. I got the omakase, and it was super worth it. This one dining experience makes up for a year s worth of eating out. If you have the privilege of dining here you will not be disappointed, and will remember it for the rest of your life.

During my visit to Alexanders Steakhouse in Pasadena last Saturday, I had a remarkable dining experience. The culinary offerings were exceptional, with each dish expertly prepared and delivering an explosion of flavors. The service provided by our server, whose name I regrettably cannot recall, was outstanding, characterized by meticulous attention to detail. The ambiance of the establishment was conducive to engaging in meaningful conversations, as it offered a serene and comfortable atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend Alexanders Steakhouse to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. Parking: Plaza Las Fuestes is next to Alexanders and good place to park.

What a phenomenal experience! Across the board everything was excellent. The best service you will ever come across. Extremely professional, kind, and knowledgeable. The food was out of this world. We were first brought complimentary fresh bread and butter, an amuse-bouche, and champagne. We ordered the Mac and cheese along with the ribeye. While we did order the Australian Wagyu ribeye, we were brought the normal ribeye. We didn t know until we received the bill. The normal ribeye was so amazing I have nothing to complain about! Incredibly juicy with every bite, perfectly cooked to medium rare, and had a great crust and flavor. We finished with the crème brûlée which was a bit too coffee flavored for us. They also bring everyone chocolate and strawberry gummy drops and cotton candy which was a strange but welcomed twist! All around, this restaurant has THE BEST steak I ve ever had. We will be back!

Our experience for dinner last night was amazing. Our server was fun and did a fantastic job. We felt like the dinner menu was limited. He was the only one working so the actual restaurant seating was not open and we were seated out by the bar. The Thai chili wings were chosen by our son and he loved them. My husband and I has the new York steak and they were both delicious! Will definitely return!

My insurance wholesale broker was flying in from TX and wanted to take a handful of our producers and staff to dinner. I choose Alexanders Steakhouse. My brokers were impressed, happy, and we had a great time and experience. Venue: Their restaurant can host private parties, of 10 or more, in multiple rooms. Perfect for a business meeting or special event. Wine: A sommelier is always available to make wine recommendations. Funny thing, when my coworker asked for a white wine to start and some red later with her dinner, the sommelier snubbed something like, well, if thats what you wish. Haha. For me, Ill stick with a medium bodied cab throughout the evening. Food: I appreciate that there were lots of on-the-house little hordouvres before, during, after atarts, entrees and desserts. The steak was perfectly cooked. Parking: Abundant subterranean parking. Discounted parking with restaurant validation.

I am so disappointed because this used to be my go to steakhouse! We were celebrating my sister with family since she just got married and we booked a private room at the restaurant. Our main server, Jace, was very disrespectful from the start. We asked for more bread since we had a larger group of people and some people couldnt reach. He gave us attitude and told us it was enough for our table. In addition, he also slammed the door going out of the room after making snide remarks toward us after asking for more bread. At the end of the dinner, we brought this situation up to the manager and Jace continued to harass our group when we were leaving the restaurant. Him and another server approached us and asked if we wanted pictures with Jace or if we wanted pictures in front of the bathroom. How insulting and unprofessional can they get! Never coming back here ever again and would not recommend anyone to come here unless you want to be disrespected by the servers!

Went in with high hopes and high expectations and was sorely disappointed. Service is terrible. We had to ask 3 times to get more bread for the table. At each ask, we were told right away and then nothing would happen until the third round when we finally got more bread. One member of our party of 3 asked for a second drink and it never came. We asked three different people and each said coming right up but it never arrived. Beyond these service issues, the overall service was very slow even though the dining room was half empty. Clearly very short handed. One final service issue was the bill. We were charged for two rounds of drinks even though we only had one. To their credit when the error was pointed out, they comped the one round of drinks. As an FYI, the online menu is not up to date with either content or prices. There are fewer entries than listed online and I will let you guess which way prices went. Food overall is pretty good but the steaks are not worth the price being charged. Will definitely look for a different venue next time.

Anyone can take a reservation, its the holding of the reservation thats important Now Im left sitting here for what i was told was 30 mins initially now its been over an hour. Im not judging the food because my mood was already ruined on my birthday and to the point that atmosphere does not matter. They took a reservation, didnt hold it and ask they can say is sorry its just too busy. Then dont take the reservation and dont tell me 30 mins and waste my time. Updated (post Pandemic lockdowns): Went here with my friend tonight due to our love of craft cocktails and fond memories of this bar. (Note: We went for drinks only and sat at the bar. We did not order food). After we ordered our first cocktail, our original bartender never came back to check in us or offer us water or anything. After we sat empty for awhile, a different person approached us and we finally ordered our second round. After this, we were never approached again and after sitting for nearly 10 minutes, we finally asked for our check. We were told that everyone else at the bar besides us were members of their exclusive Whiskey club who pay money to store Whiskey at the restaurant. I do understand that kind of special treatment as I also am a regular at a few other local bars. But in this case, despite our willingness to buy more drinks and our attempts to talk to the bartenders and staff about our drinks and engage in conversation, we were completely ignored. I really like the selection at this bar and the willingness (and expertise) of the bartenders to make custom cocktails using their well-stocked liquor selection and based on the customers preferences, but I really disliked being ignored due to not belonging to their exclusive club that I didnt know existed and wasnt told what the requirements were to join. ***** Fantastic food and one of the best cocktail programs in the L.A. area. Great wine list and fantastic service.

Mainly for food review. We were a bit worried when seeing the recent reviews of their steak. We had the Wagyu sushi as starter and caesar salad for the veggie. Wagyu sushi was a bit cold when served so cant really taste the sweetness of the beef itself. The salad is not the typical caesar but a hands-on project( you need to cut and mix on your own ? ). Thankfully, the steak chef turned things around when we had the porterhouse steak. The steak itself is aged so the texture is soft but some of the tendon was really hard to cut and even to bite off. It was the chef who grilled the steak perfectly enhancing the entire dining experience. At the end, we got complimentary chocolate and puff as well as the cotton candy. I would say try the porterhouse and hope you have the same chef I had that might improve your dining experience a lot.

The staff, particularly Kenny, is knowledgeable of the menu and adaptive to guests. The food is impeccable, plainly put. If you have an issue with anything, you probably dont have a refined palette. However, if youre uncomfortable spending no less than $500 for 2 people, Im quite certain theres a McDonalds somewhere in the vicinity that can accommodate you. Recommended: Cold Noodles, Hakkaido A5 wagyu, Strawberry Gazpacho. Beverage: Paper Plane and Old Fashioned.

Usually a huge fan here, as I ve come many times with family members and biz associates. I gotta say this time was pretty bad. The appetizers (crab salad + hamachi shot) came out extremely salty. We mentioned it to the server and then the steak, salmon and the sides came out without any salt. Generally, I would say everything we ordered was OK or bad with the exception of the bone marrow, which was just excellent 10/10. The ends of the asparagus were extremely difficult to chew. Hamachi shot was very salty. Crab salad was also salty and gave off a fishy odor. Bone-in ribeye steak was flavorless (due to lack of salt), king salmon was good, bone marrow was excellent, and mac and cheese was on par with what you d expect at a typical steakhouse. Also, sitting outside was very nice, but there was only one server for 4-5 tables and we got very little attention when we needed it.

Despite the glowing reviews Alexandra Steakhouse has received from many, including top critics, my experience felt more lukewarm. I initially tried to book a table online without success but managed to reserve one for seven over the phone. A word of caution for outdoor diners: there was an off-putting smell outside, perhaps due to some nearby misfortune. Located in old Pasadena, near the city hall, its a picturesque spot. The sight of couples in wedding attire added charm. Parking in the basement was convenient, although the validation process later had its flaws. Our private room had a unique, almost square table - an odd choice. Service was commendable, albeit with a few hiccups. The Hamachi Shots stood out, even though they oddly lacked the actual yellowtail fish. The octopus, potentially sous-vide, was an experiment gone too salty. The prawns had flavor, but their size possibly contributed to their toughness. The oysters were unremarkable. The Dungeness Crab Tempura was a misnomer, feeling more fusion than tempura. The crab, notably, didnt taste fresh, overshadowing the dish. The Bone Marrow was a pleasant surprise with its creamy texture and crispy crostini. The Fried Rice, unusual for a steakhouse, was surprisingly good. The flying fish roe was an inventive touch. The main attraction, the steaks, however, were a significant disappointment. They were not just overly salted, but more critically, they lacked tenderness, a fundamental expectation for a steakhouse. The steaks didnt seem to be cooked to our specifications and disappointingly, they also lacked the aromatic allure of aged beef. An unusual addition of green onion on the steaks hinted at Taiwanese influence. Our wine experience was a redeeming factor. Priced fairly and with the waiter showing expertise, especially with an older bottle. On departure, despite our parking ticket being handed for validation, we were still charged - an unfortunate end to the evening. In summary: Alexandra Steakhouse has its moments but lacked consistency in our experience. Its a 3 out of 5 for me, hoping for more refined experiences in future visits.

The other dishes were ok but the steaks... oh and the bone marrow, you wont even be able to taste the actual marrow because of the amount of toppings it has. Its like chimchuri served on a bone. Would rather go to Malbec, Ruths, Royce or Arroyo Chop house for steak in Pasadena.

Food wise, same menu as the main restaurant (no social hours yet), I recommend the little gems salad, truffle fries, & crack fried rice, if you don t want to order the yummy steaks. Also See if they have the housemade chocolate cookies! One of the best I ever had! - They got lovely outdoor dining setup for distancing dining! I love their bar. Got social hours & a friendly bar food menu. Restaurant side has a fancy vibe, the bar is much warmer & more smart casual. Steak is amazing! I love their Soufflé, fries, bread plate with 3 types of butter (complimentary), burger, crab fried rice side dish, hamachi shots, shishito peppers. My latest favorite is their wagyu beef tartare!

I must say that I was disappointed. I expected much more in regards to food quality and service! The place was not very busy, and I expected the bartender to clear the plates quicker as well as provide my bill. The food was eh, average. The rice was good, but had way too much onion, which I think was a filler to save money. The steak was average at best. I woild not recommend eating here, paying a premium price for average service and food!

I think their chefs go a little too far in terms of Asian inspirations: too much yuzu and soybean repeated here and there. For a 300USD dinner, the experience was so much uninspired and unworthy

Ryan Goldfarb, thank you so much for the impeccable service, great food, drinks, and the complimentary cotton candies. It was a great wonderful surprise. Your attention to little details of the party such as: personalized food and drinks menu is greatly appreciated. The staff is super attentive and accommodating. Hats off to you and your team at Alexander s Steakhouse. You have made our event more meaningful and enjoyable. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the event immensely. Again, thank you so much. It could not have been more perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Although Ive heard great things about this place, we ended up having a mixed experience here. I also graded this 4 stars although its closer to 3.5 because of the prices. We started off with a bread Service and a selection of butter. Wow was it good. Each bread and better has a unique flavor and texture, it was great to try them all in different combinations. Also a tip, you CAN ask for more if you like. Next was the Wedge Salad. It had a really great herby and fresh flavor to it that Ive never had before. At first I didnt like it but I found myself loving it more and more as I fished the plate. Mains are next we had two different steaks, a New York strip and Australian Rib Eye, plus a lobster tail. The New York Strip was really good. Cooked very nicely and had good flavor. The Australian Ribeye, which is a 28oz F1 Wagyu steak, was a bit over and came to me lower then room temp. Now, have to say the flavor and texture of the steak was AMAZING. You could really tell the quality of the meat through the taste and texture. It was actually fun to go back and forth between the New York and Wagyu because both were really good, but the level of taste and quality from the Wagyu was very noticeable. It really was a shame that it came out the way it did and Ill chalk it up to just staying out to long in the kitchen. Finally the Lobster Tail was ok too. Nothing to point out here, just a standard Lobster Tail. For sides, first we had Mashed Potatoes. They were SO smooth and creamy with a nice flavor. Second we had the Mac-N-Cheese, which we did not like at all. Idk if its supposed to taste like this, but it was as if someone dumped 3 packs of Velvita cheese mix into it. It was too thick, and too cheddary... To the point that I could not eat it. It really just tasted like I was biting into a melted block of cheese. And normally thats not a bad thing... But the cheese itself really didnt have a nice or interesting flavor other than just CHEDDAR. Finally for dessert, we had the Apple of my eye Creme Brulee. It tasted like a thick creme brulee with some apples on top. It was fine. The miso ice cream it came with though was awesome. Overall, I had ups and downs here. Id be willing to come back to give it another chance since Ive always heard people having great experience. Maybe it was just an off night, but at this price point, its hard to expect anything other than perfection.

Made reservations for 6:15pm and was seated promptly. We decided on 2 hamachi shots, smoked organic duck, the blackened ribeye, 3 oz order of the A5 miyazaki wagyu and bone marrow (my own personalized tasting menu LOL). They offered to bring items one after another which was great so items dont get cold. They first bought us complimentary sparkling wine. I dont drink so they gave me a grape cider. That was nice of them. The hamachi shots came out next. There were refreshing and tasty. They told us to mix it up and then eat it in one bite. It took my 2 bites. I like the flavor and they had these crispy things in it to added to the mouth texture. Then came the bread service, they brought out artisanal bread made in house with their own specialty butter. The bread was normal, nothing special. The main attraction was definitely the butter. They offered 3 types: a wagyu flavor butter, a smokey flavor one and a european butter. My favorite was the wagyu, it was sweet and in second place as the european with a more savory flavor. We devoured the bread and they offered to bring us another. Next came the smoked organic duck. Oh such a great choice. It was very tender and it was served with 2 types of sauces. One was citrusy another was similiar to BBQ sauce. Separately I preferred the citrusy sauce but then I mixed them together it tasted good too. Came with a small side of yau choy which I thought was too salty. Then they decided to bring the A5 Wagyu, the blackend rib eye and the bone marrow all in one go. Nooooo! We went for the A5 Wagyu first since its the most expensive and the highlight of the night. Unfortunately everything else got sorta cold. The Wagyu was melt in your mouth goodness cooked to medium rare!! They gave us a salt tray that had 6 different salts, so we slowly enjoyed every cut with eat different type of salt. Sooo good and certainly an experience worth trying. Next we attacked the blackened rib eye and the bone marrow. The blackened rib eye was interesting. It was covered in pepper but it didnt taste spicy though. It was also topped with green onions that were soaks in some citrus liquid. I thought it was yuzu but my boyfriend thinks its pomelo. It tasted good, cooked to perfection (medium rare) but our throats werent having it. We were recommended to place a spoon of bone marrow with each bite of steak which tasted good. I wonder if it was that combination to caused the irritation. Anyhow, not the restaurants fault. We enjoyed the bone marrow. By this time, we were all stuffed and had no room for dessert. They were generous to serve us their signature cherry flavors cotton candy and even gave us complimentary hazelnut bonbons and honeybutter tart with blueberry. Service was very good. We were served by two different people forgot their names but they were very attentive and knew the menu items and etc. Our water cuts were filled non stop. Service did go slower near the end since they got a lot of new guests arrive but understandable. Parking we parked on the street (free on Sundays). Otherwise they did offer to validate for the parking structure. Overall it was a great dinner. I will most likely be back to try their other items!

Definitely the best steak and steakhouse in Pasadena. Parking is extremely easy as they offer validated parking in the underground structure right next to the restaurant (parking for the Westin hotel as well). Inside is designed just like a traditional, dimly lit, East Coast style steakhouse and they have the food quality and service to back it up as well. Fabian was a great server and so was the rest of the team that I encountered. I started off the meal with the Hamachi Shots which I was recommended to by many people. It s also on the chef s tasting menu so that shows that the kitchen backs it as well. It was so delicious I had to order 3. A great start to the meal and the perfect way to get your pallet ready for the entree. For that I chose the 8oz Filet Mignon with a side of bone marrow to mix both bites. DELICIOUS! A must do. The steak was cooked well and had a nice sear to it. For the side I chose the broccoli di ceccio which was a really nice side to the steak, the pecorino made it almost sweet. Finally for the dessert I chose the banana bourbon panna cotta and it too was wonderful. The flavor combo was a perfect end to the meal. Overall a delicious meal and one of my top 5 favorite steakhouses in LA. I would recommend to anyone on any occasion it will be a nice meal no matter what day or time you book reservations.

(Grade C+) Like my dad used to say, You can do better... We were a bit disappointed. I grill meats fairly regularly and cut/clean my own meats, so Im fairly experienced in meats, grades & cuts. I have to say though, the Organic Green Salad & the small breads were amazing. The bread came with 3 types of butter, one was in a bone, in the place of the bone marrow. They did offer a complimentary refill for the bread which we declined because we wanted to save our appetite for the steak. So we ordered the Kansas City Strip and the Ribeye Chop, about $70 each, they were not as we expected. I wanted the regular NY steak but our server recommended the larger Kansas City Strip (mistake). The Ribeye has a lot of silver skin, not used to seeing that in prime meats. The meats tasted ok but I had to do a fair bit of dissecting to remove inedible parts. The other thing that bothered me was what seems like the constant badgering of the server to upsell, change from one to the other, as things etc. Not appropriate for a high end restaurant.

I got the Waygyu Hokaido medium rare, It was super good and the beef melts in your mouth like butter by itself and the salt selection is wonderful as well. On the side I had the garden medley which consists of carrots, brussel sprouts and zuchini. Our waiter Nick also brought us a nice grape cotton candy to top it off.... Now for the rating Price - $$$$ 5/5 expensive but its easily justified by the service, staff, interior design and atmosphere... Flavor - 5/5 Anything this place can do better - Nothing... I want to try that cool looking Texas whiskey next time.

This was the BEST dinning experience I ve ever had! I came here with my fiancé for my birthday. We were taken to our table, and the restaurant had a birthday card waiting for me and served us champagne! It was such an unexpected and lovely touch! The drinks were amazing, the staff were incredibly attentive and polished, the atmosphere was just gorgeous-think modern, high end Japanese/American aesthetic. And the food was perfection!! We ordered the Porterhouse, Mac and cheese and KFC (cauliflower). The porterhouse was one of the best cuts of meat we ve ever had. For dessert, we had cotton candy and cheesecake. It could not have been more perfect. If you come here, you should be expecting an expensive night out, but you get what you pay for and this was worth it. Especially to celebrate a special occasion or for a romantic dinner-I would highly recommend coming here!

Alexander s is by far my favorite steakhouse in the United States. Their selection of flavorful, well prepared steaks and high grade A5 wagyu make it a true culinary experience. Michelin star chef Florent Courriol will turn you into a steak aficionado if you weren t one already! The wagyu toast was like a surf and turf lobster roll. Perfectly toasted and buttered roll that I would guess was baked that day, the bread being one of the most overlooked parts of a lobster roll. Topped with fatty, flavorful wagyu and the freshest uni (sea urchin sex organ) I ve had in my life. This was an unexpected favorite. The hamachi shots are impossible to describe. Fresh raw yellowtail with a perfect combination of jalapeno, avocado, ginger, lime juice and truffled ponzu sauce. The flavors are spectacular, making for the perfect start every visit to Alexander s. Definitely on the must-order list. The A5 olive wagyu (rarest steak in the world was tender and full of flavor from the olives fed to the cow. Only 2000 Koruge Washu cows exist in the world, all in the Kagawa Prefecture of Japan. Trying this beef has been on my bucket list for a while and it really is the best steak I have ever tasted. The A5 Miyazakigyu (wagyu filet mignon) was my second favorite. Not as fatty as the New York cut but insanely tender. I need to research this beef more and come back for a full write up. The A5 Hokkaido wagyu (snow beef) came in third place for me, but did not disappoint in the least bit. Not as tender as the others but fatty and delicious. Hokkaido wagyu gets its nickname, snow beef, from the elevation at which the cows are raised. In the cold mountains of the island of Hokkaido, Kuroge Black cows are fed sweet corn and don very thick coats which encourage even distribution of fat, leading to near perfect marbling. The Flannery 30 day aged ribeye with bearnaise was a hearty addition to the table. The flavor from the aging process was incredible. Fat was rendered spectacularly and not lacking in the least bit. This was definitely a dish to share or prepare to take leftovers home. The bone marrow add on is a necessity. Paired with the steaks it adds a deep fatty beefy flavor with a perfect soft texture. The pannacotta was delicious, with sweet crumbles and a small serving of rich banana ice cream. Another must have if you manage to save space. At the end, they always bring you fresh made cotton candy on the house. I m not a fan of cotton candy but it s a nice touch and everyone I ve been with loves it. They also brought us multiple round of champagne on the house. Overall, Alexander s is an experience every foodie needs to indulge in at some point. From the moment you sit down to the moment you leave you ll be immersed in a steakhouse experience like no other.

One word review: Jayse. What an incredible experience for a birthday dinner. His attention to detail and service was world class. He had superb knowledge about every aspect of the restaurant, from its history to the ingredients on the menu. His recommendations were tailor made for every level of restaurant-goer, from Novice to Sommelier status. His warm personality, honesty, and humor made the night really memorable. It felt like he was the perfect representation of how much thoughtfulness and preparation goes into the meal. And speaking of the meal... I thought the presentation, flavor combinations, and quality on the chefs tasting menu were incredible. Salute to Executive Chef Florent Courriol. If you want dinner, go to CPKs next door. If you want a life altering, mind bending, taste of dining heaven... go to Alexanders Steakhouse.

Okay, so this will be a brutally honest post. I ve been a guest at Alexander s twice this week (April 3rd, reservation right at opening time, party of 3, indoor dining, and April 10th, reservation at 8:30pm, party of 3, outdoor dining). Total, we spent over $1,000. Pros: -delicious food, awesome cuts and choice of steaks, delicious sides, and delicious desserts -our steaks were cooked perfectly (including well done) -delicious alcoholic beverages and coffee -kind and professional wait staff -cotton candy is provided after your meal at no additional charge Cons: -the restroom was not as well tended too as you d expect for this sort of establishment -the wait staff was GREAT, HOWEVER, it took long to receive whatever we were asking for (ex: sweetener, drink refills, bread, etc.) -when asking for refills of bread, specifically the mini baguettes, we were given three slices of ONE mini baguette. My party and I were shocked by this and this happened TWICE. We weren t certain if this occurred b/c they were running out, were in the process of baking more or something else but the easiest remedy would ve been to advise of this (running out, baking more, other reasoning, extra charge for bread) -when asking for items, we were given limited quantities (ex: bread example mentioned above and sweetener). Our party had ordered iced teas and each of us use two packets each. When we asked for sweet-n-low only, we were given four packets. Would I recommend coming here? Absolutely! Would I come here again? Of course. I highly recommend the following: ribeye chop, little gem, sautéed mushrooms, the flannery, Australian ribeye, prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, hibachi shots, the golden cocktail, iced tea, coffee, creme brûlée, chocolate soufflé, and chimichurri. We also ordered the KFC and the fried rice but trying them once was enough for us. The 1a steakhouse sauce was also okay.

Their wagyu, especially the hokkaido wagyu was very good. Thats what Id recommend if you eat here. The dry-aged ribeye was not what I expected. Granted, it was my first dry-aged steak. However, the main issue was that the smokiness overpowered everything. The meat itself was cooked fairly well, but it was not very flavorful. My brother got the dry-aged porterhouse and said the same thing.
