My first time coming here, weekday dinner and it was great. I tried a little bit of everything. I enjoyed the shrimp empanada, although I tasted more cheese than shrimp. The muscles were fantastic. Both the ravioli and lasagna were full of flavor and texture. They have a full bar and a lot of outdoor seating available if that’s what you prefer.

I was so excited to finally try this place today since we were in the area. I used to go to their Burbank location before they closed it down. I made reservations off OpenTable but we got there earlier so they were still able to sit us during lunch. They have a special lunch menu going on that I was going to order from but our waitress said I couldn't sub out the potatoes that comes with the steak with fries which I understand. So I got the New York Strip (Ojo De Bife) at medium rare with fries and asked for no butter on the fries, my wife got the Sea Bass. I asked for a coke to drink and when I drank it, it was flat. Our waitress didn't come back to us for over 10 minutes even though I saw her walking around near the kitchen but she just never look at my direction. So I went to the bartender to ask if I can switch to a sprite instead. He let me taste the sprite first and it was flat as well so I just stuck with water. When the waitress finally came to our table to check in, I let her know about the soda being flat and she said she would take it off the bill. Another waiter came to our table with some empanadas but I told him. We didn't order that. The menu said on the steak that it will take about 30 minutes to make so I understood that and we just ate the bread while waiting. I overheard that they messsd up on my fries since the put butter so the waitress got them to remake it. We had to wait a little longer for our food, once it finally got to our table I was ready to eat my steak. But the plate was cold, the steak was not hot or warm so I know it sat out on the counter while they were remaking the fries. The fries were hot and good, just needed some black pepper but they didn't have that at our table. My wife like the Sea Bass, she thought it was flavored well and enjoyed the mushroom on the side. When I was ready to pay, I still did not see our waitress come back so I had to flag down the bartender to bring me some boxes and our check. I would not recommend this Gaucho Grill location just based on my experience today and was totally disappointed because I was anticipating coming to this place for a while.

Can't go wrong with their happy hour and their late night happy hour 9:30pm to close Thurs, Fri, Sat is clutch! Never a problem finding street parking right up front. Happy hour favorites: lamb chops, meatballs, burger. Bread + chimichurri is on the house too, just have to ask for it sometime. Chill laid back atmosphere, great bar set up!

The food here is absolutely fantastic! The skirt steak was cooked to perfection, and the mashed potatoes were wonderfully flavorful. The restaurant had a nice, relaxed atmosphere, and our server was very attentive at the start of the meal. Though it got a bit tricky to catch her towards the end, the overall experience was still enjoyable. We did notice a couple of mosquitoes by our table, but thankfully, they weren’t too much of a bother. Despite these minor things, I would highly recommend this place for the food alone—just be prepared to linger a little longer when it's time to settle up.

We had lots of back and forth because they told us the dont have lamb chops for the variety of meat plate but at the end the bring us!!! Every server said something different and we didn’t know what was going on!!
We ordered medium well but meats were well done! The server brought desert at the end to made up for it, which was nice.
The taste okay!
The atmosphere and design of the restaurant is very good and stylish
There are plenty of parking in back for free and lots of shopping stores are around

I was lucky enough to be visiting during dineLA week color so I took my mom here for a lovely lunch! I ordered the prawns and artichoke salad, the lobster roll, and the flan, my mother ordered the empanada, the New York strip steak, and the floor as well. Everything came out delicious! We went in the afternoon, so the location wasn't very busy at all, and service was fantastic! The restrooms are very clean and nice, overall the entire atmosphere is just very relaxed. Definitely wanna visit again in the future.

Went on Sunday evening about 5 pm. The restaurant was not busy at that time but was filling up as we left about an hour or so later. Don't know if they were short staffed, but it took about 5 minutes to be greeted and then seated. Our waiter seemed to be the only one managing all the tables, so attention to service was not that great.
One complaint regarding the food was the iced tea. I assume it was a black tea as they didn't list other ingredients, so if it was flavored, they need to let you know. What I got seemed like it was rancid. The actual food was good as was the environment.
Can't say I'd be willing to go back at this time given the experience. Might just have been a bad day for them, but maybe not.

Yes there is a Happy Hour sign but No there is no Happy hour on the weekend. We went for Happy Hour on a Wednesday and really enjoyed the little lamb chops and empanadas along with good drinks. Several weeks later we went on a Saturday because the sign in front said Happy Hour all week. Surprise! The hostess didn t know that; she said it was only during the week. Then she said, just drinks ( even though the sign said drinks and appetizers). The best was the bar tender who said on the weekend Happy hour starts at 9pm. I don t like deception. Go to Malbec.

I assume the follow through with staff comes from the lack of follow through from the general manager Elmer Martinez who never responded to messages after requesting an alternative to his gift card. Who wants to go to a restaurant a second time for a better experience. I took my family to your restaurant for my dad s 60th birthday and our experience was horrific. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to come out.. 20 minutes for beverages is unheard of in any restaurant that values customer service. Our food was either undercooked or overcooked (we left food behind). We literally were attempting to switch meals at the table so that everyone could eat something after waiting so long for any kind of decent service. We were never offered refills we had to flag our server down for refills. Every time she walked by she would look in the opposite direction to avoid helping her tables. I had to ask one of the bussers for help with refills. My dad had a michelada and wanted a regular beverage after that, he never got it because our server never brought it to our table. We made the reservation and indicated his birthday for a 30 dollar discount we never received. When I inquired about it everyone pointed the finger at one another and no one took accountability for the mess up or offered to fix it. Your restaurant attached a tip for our server I reviewed your website I don t see that indicated as common practice in your restaurant (like other reputable restaurants do). Our server did not deserve a tip AT ALL. When I asked why it was included she said it s common practice but not on the website. Is that common practice that you unknowingly add an undeserving tip for your servers? When I asked for the manager she came over and said there was nothing she could do to at least offer the 30.00 off. I asked for the GM and she said she was the GM. I said I doubt that but if you want to make me figure it out myself no problem and left restaurant. You should be beyond embarrassed at the experience we had in this restaurant. People should not have to go there and say today is really important to me I need you to make it special! Your restaurant and staff should strive for perfection so that if they fall short it is still a pleasant experience.

We come here all the time to celebrate birthdays and special occasions. You need to order the bife de chorizo, its so delicious! Pedro our waiter, was AMAZING! He made the whole dining experience so special! He was very kind and always made sure we had everything we needed. If you want to taste a little bit of Argentina here in L.A., then you need to come to El Gaucho Grill here in Pasadena. ¡VIVA LA LIBERTAD CARAJO!

This place is AMAZING! I chose this place for my bday dinner on 9/14/24 and it did not disappoint! We had a part of 11 and they accommodated us very well. Service was terrific, food was beyond words can express of how delicious it was, my taste buds were flabbergasted . Their sangria was to die for, I cannot say enough great things about this place, I 100% recommend this place to everyone and anyone. Be ready to spend a pretty penny but it was definitely worth it, for example, We got 2 parrilladas, a tomahawk, 2 sangria bottles, a milanesa de pollo and something else I can t recall and our bill was in the $700 range. HOWEVER, I would definitely come back! The only downside is the parking! Everything else was great

10/06/24 Terrible service. Receptionist was in a bad mood and explained that she shouldnt be the one serving us and as if she was giving us a big favor. Took our order while sipping on her ice water from coffee bean. Waiters all over the place. Order came out 30 mins interval for a beer, coke, and fries!

They sat us at a table in the middle of the hallway, the waiter greeted us very attentively, but it took him a long time to bring the menu, once we ordered the food he brought it incomplete, we told him that it was the birthday of someone who was in our group and he took a while. 45 minutes to enter a dessert, he didnt want to sing El Happy Birthday he didnt try, he was curt, he didnt make eye contact, we have been going to this restaurant for more than 30 years since they were on Sunset Blvd, and we know that Argentinians have a personality Strong, but they respect your business and have their say, we will not return, it was a great disappointment.

Very clean and beautiful, waiter was kind and attentive. I ordered the ribeye thinking it would be one of the best things on the menu. Nope!! Tuff and hard to chew, I ordered it medium rare and it came that way. It was definitely the quality of the steak. It also had so many tendons in it. Expected so much more from this place. The flan was delicious.

On July 13 we were celebrating my friends birthday, but when I returned home I realized that I lost a silver bracelet of great sentimental value to me. When I called the restaurant, they told me that the bartender, RAUL, found her and I keep it. The truth is that I appreciate his values as an honest employee. I am very grateful to him. I would like to share my honest review of this restaurant. The whole meal was really difficult. It was nice to play live music, but it was impossible to have a conversation because they played without stopping for two hours. The worst thing was that I ate while sweating, wondering if the air conditioner was broken or defective. This is a place I really dont want to go to again. Last night we came to celebrate birthdays, but our encounter with the hostess could best be described as...chilling. Think Medusa, but with a disdain for large parties instead of snakes for hair. Now, to be fair, the food was fantastic. We loved the empanadas and the meat parrillada was delicious. But even the most delectable meal can be overshadowed by a frosty reception. For example, a simple request for the restroom location resulted in a curt point and an eye roll that could fuel a small windmill. The real head-scratcher was the apparent annoyance towards our party size. There was no wait, no reservation snafu, just a general aura of the audacity of you wanting to dine together! This manifested in the impatient tugging of a table away (before confirming if more people were joining) and a dramatic sigh upon our affirmative answer. Look, as someone that worked in customer service all through out college, customer service 101 tells you a smile goes a long way. Our hostess, however, seemed to be taking a masterclass in the art of the annoyed and aggressive communication. While the food and ambiance were undeniably lovely, the coldness of our initial interaction left a bad taste in our mouths. Perhaps with a bit more hospitality training, this restaurant could be a true gem.

1 star and I m being generous. The best thing we ordered at an Argentinian steak house was a salad (lol) and it was mediocre. The tomahawk steak was terrible. No flavor, no texture, so chewy and hard to cut.. oof one of the worst meat we ve ever had. In comparison we ve had the tomahawk at cut in Beverly Hills and it was amazing. We got the side of mushrooms with it and it was disgusting. We also ordered the T-bone that came flattened (they do that to make it tender) and it was as rubbery as a tire. Again, no flavor, no salt, fighting it to get a slice. And lastly we ordered the sea bass, plain and unmemorable like everything else. It came with the saddest side of steamed veggies I ve ever seen. It was so unappealing no one touched it. We left with most of our plates still intact and no one had the decency to ask us why (because they probably know the answer). On top of it all, service was terrible.. maybe understaffed? Don t be fooled by the reviews like we did, don t go. The only family member that enjoyed the meat was my dog.

Grade A (90): I can give it a better grade if I ignore the Picanha. Ordered medium, came less than rare inside, sent it back, came rare, ended up not eating it. My buddies got the Entrana (Skirt Steak) on my recommendation and that was tender & Delicious and prepared perfectly. We also got a filet that was excellent. Empanadas, the Ham & Cheese was #1, then the short rib then the al pastor and spinach was really bad. Warning: Picanha, great presentation for a picture (Outside looked perfect but Very undercooked inside, next time maybe order butterflied). And keep your plate, send back the metal contraption, it will be easier to carve it.

Randomly dropped by this place and made it in time for happy hour. Cool and stylish place when it comes to the interior. Im picky when it comes to my meat and the Entraña has always been a favourite of mine. Best Entraña Ive had north of the US boarder. Also really good fries that were well seasoned and the chimichurri was good also. This meal was just what I wanted!

We visited this restaurant for the first time, it was my Moms birthday and I wanted to surprise her, but it was nothing of what I thought. The place looks elegant, but the food wasnt that great considering the price we paid. After they delivered the food, I was shocked that mine didnt arrive with the other meals, it was only when someone came to our table to ask if everything was OK that they realized they screwed up. I was not hungry by the time they brought it to the table (20 minutes after the other meals arrived) and I asked for it to go. The waiter came with the food to go and as he was putting the food on the table he said and I quote I have one little problem, I do not have a bag for you to take your food to go. Just like that. A restaurant that expensive and they does not have a bag for you to take your food to go? Said the ran out yesterday.... Wow, just wow. I realize a good ribeye can be a little fatty... but mine was mostly fat..and about 1/ 4 in thick, not a steak. Mashed potatoes arrived cold and tasted like instant. Empanada was weak in flavor and very fried and doughy. The forgotton Paella dish was very watery. Margarita was weak, mostly ice. Martini came with no olives... I got to pay $280.00...for this disappointment. We wont return. Note: I felt the servers tried... but there is a deeper problem at this location.

I have a bit of a mixed review about this place We went there for my daughters birthday I had the Milanesa The meat itself was good, tender, but very dry and very under seasoned like it needed something. But I tried my sons New York strip steak and that was delicious The rose sangria is so so but it looks very pretty The waiters were nice, the place has a nice look inside And my daughter was happy with the cake they brought it was almost like a bread pudding The reason we went to this place was they had no reservations available at Nicks. I must say the hostess was sweet and up beat. I would go back probably more for like a lunch not for a birthday celebration. Why? I just felt the whole experience was lacking something, a little dull.

We were there on a Friday night with reservations for 4 at 6:30pm. Checked in with not much of a wait. Was sat and realized after 25-30 minutes that we were not asked for drinks. Got up to speak to the hostess and informed her of the issue. Our waitress then came about 5 minutes later. We then placed our drinks and food orders (2 sirloins, one lasagna, and one salmon plate). They brought the drinks about 10 minutes later and the food about an hour later. The place wasnt too busy. Just upset how long the service took. Food was ok but night ruined with the wait.

I went with my partner very excited to visit an Argentine restaurant since we miss our real food. First of all, Im going to talk about the food, the menu is not in Spanish (considering that it is an Argentine place it doesnt cost that much to have it), we ordered meat empanada and ham and cheese because the rest are not very Argentinian combinations. I understand that the meat empanada gives it its personal touch , but do you add peas to a meat empanada? The Milanese is tiny, very basic flavor. The acidic mash, like a hospital. Luckily, we didnt order cuts of meat because we read other reviews and considering that its not a cheap place and you have to wait 30 minutes for something from the grill, its better not to. The service, considering that it is a fancy and not very accessible place, they should invest more in the service. They took a while to bring everything, and they disappeared. I didnt feel like it was the essence of Argentine food, maybe I missed something and its an Argentinian Mexican fusion. Which is perfect! But they should be more transparent.

A decent option for dinner on Lake Ave. Food, service, and atmosphere were all good, but none were especially outstanding. Still overall a good meal, especially given the price when compared to the other nearby pricer options.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in LA. Recommend their mussels, paella, and tomahawk steak. Service was attentive and fast. When they overcooked our steak, they gave us another one and some homemade sauce on the house. Go here!!!

I was lucky enough to be visiting during dineLA week color so I took my mom here for a lovely lunch! I ordered the prawns and artichoke salad, the lobster roll, and the flan, my mother ordered the empanada, the New York strip steak, and the floor as well. Everything came out delicious! We went in the afternoon, so the location wasnt very busy at all, and service was fantastic! The restrooms are very clean and nice, overall the entire atmosphere is just very relaxed. Definitely wanna visit again in the future.

This place is a disaster. Overall vibe is ok. We thought this would be a great place to grab a nice lunch. We ordered tomahawk and picania medium-rare. They served both with very beautiful presentation but both steaks have been overcooked. Not just medium or medium well. They were well done. We told the waiter that both steaks are not at the temperature we asked for. Not even close. They called their boss who came out and told us that they can t replace it because its expensive cut. They can offer something extra. We did not want to argue too much. But they lost me as a customer. So how is it my fault that they overcooked it? Especially they used thermometer. Their explanation is that the cut is pretty big and it is hard to control the temperature. Ok well that means they really do not know how to cook the steak. I was super upset. The restaurant does not stand behind its own mistakes and expect customers to accept the food the way it is. Well I have been in so many steakhouses and I can confidently say they all are very careful about the temperature and if a slight mistake in temperature will result in not just proper replacement but also they would remove the item from your bill. I usually pay extra tip to cover their loss since I consider this as a mistake that was properly handled. In this case they not only did not want to admit their mistake. They offered a terrible extra option. They basically served the cheapest piece of boneless ribeye that was just raw. H They do not care about the customer. That is clear. I am not going back ever again. It was my first and last time I went to this place. Do not recommend this place at all. If you like decent steak house try something else.

Things that were good: clean and new restaurant, taste of the drinks, friendliness of staff. Things that were not good: our server disappeared for a good 30 minutes while I was waiting to order a drink, food was served cold (empanadas and pasta), no one in the kitchen was wearing a hat or hair net. Ultimately was entirely unimpressed and disappointed, in fact, by the experience.

After a little server:section confusion, Manuel came to the rescue. He was friendly and extremely helpful, assisting us in ordering something similar to a dish we used to enjoy that was no longer on the menu. Excellent service and the food was amazing as expected. My group and I ordered nothing but a dozen empenadas, and the short rib was the crowd favorite. The spicy chimichurri was too good. Decor and atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful. There was a classy luxurious feel without being overwhelming and stuffy.

After visiting them several times, unfortunately the service changed a lot, more than 10 minutes at the table waiting for us to be served, another 20 minutes waiting for them to bring bread and chimichurri, they give you water on the table in a hurry, I understand that maybe They have few people, but the customer service was terrible, I really didnt have a good time

Male white host is great. Miguel at the bar very attentive. Female Hispanic host needs more training. She looked lost and was talking to me in Spanish or trying to.. even though I spoke English to the other host?? The patio waitress with the long hair was explaining to me and my friends the difference between a dozen and half a dozen. She was so irritating we were so glad when she switched with another waiter. He was great. Will not come back. I hear Downey has one.

One star deduction only because they dont serve standard salad dressing. Granted, the lemon aioli was good, some people would really prefer Ranch or Italian dressing. Otherwise, the food was delicious. The service was slow but thats how it is sometimes; it gave us plenty of time to chit chat and fellowship together while we waited. The food portions are definitely decent. The desserts were tasty! And we were excited not to have to wait 30 minutes to 2 hours to be seated, as is the case with several local restaurants, especially in the South Lake (Pasadena) area on a Sunday afternoon. Parking: There is metered parking on the street. The parking garage a few doors down, under Macys and TJ Maxx or Marshalls is free. And you can park for 90 minutes free in the lot across the street, behind Ross.

Food was not as good as I would have hoped for an upscale steakhouse the steak was overcooked for what we ordered, and the side dishes (mushrooms and potatoes) were quite bland and unexciting. Wine and cocktails were great though, and the interior had a good vibe. But won t be coming back here for a good steak

I would stay away from this place unless you like to eat nails in your food. My coworkers and were in a large party tonight and a NAIL was in the dish of one of our desserts. Our server was shown the nail and apologized but said there was nothing she could do AND suggested that because the dish had been MICROWAVED and the metal would have caused the microwave to explode... Insinuating that we had planted the nail in the food. Terrible. Run.

Atmosphere, service and food were exceptional! You MUST try the empanadas! Unfortunately, the drinks were super weak and very sweet. I ordered the margarita flight (comes with 4) and it was presented well, they looked delicious, but ended up being far too sweet and had little to no alcohol (couldnt even taste it). Aside from that, Id still recommend this spot, even during the dinner rush.

Based on this visit, an absolute 5 of 5. Ou reservations were honored on time. We were offered an amazing seat option and the rest matched our greeting. Porterhouse Steak served to temp. Salmon tender and flavorful. Garlic butter potatoes were perfect. Even our calamari appetizer was just right. I am a big critic of overcooked seafood Our waitress was more than attentive without being overbearing. To say I was impressed is an understatement. Great job management, chefs and especially our server. Thank you for making our anniversary so special. I was just diagnosed with Stage 4 CA. and I wanted this to be special in case it was our last. Please keep up the great work.

Today was our first visit here. Heard about this place through Yelp. I must say it was quite an experience. Our server Manuel made my family and I feel welcomed. He answered any questions we had about the menu. We ended up getting a la carte Entrañas and the pechuga a la brasa. Great plates overall and the flan for dessert felt like home. Cousin was visiting & decided to come here for hubbys pre- birthday celebration. Great vibe, great service, and great food. Short rib empanada is really good with thin shell and lots of flavorful meat. The lamb rack is a bomb! Very juicy, tender inside and a bit charred outside, seasoned just right, perfectly paired with the tangy and refreshing salad. The short rib papperdelle is excellent too. They even treat us a complimentary dessert with sparkling candle for our celebration! What a sweet finale to end the memorable night.
