Soup Shoppe

I recently visited the Soup Shoppe in Riverside, California and I must say I was impressed with my breakfast order. I ordered the country fried steak breakfast plate with over medium eggs, a side of home fries with grilled bell pepper and onions, and a side of biscuits and gravy. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the country fried steak was tender and flavorful. The home fries were deliciously seasoned and the grilled bell pepper and onions added a nice touch. The biscuits and gravy were also a hit - rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. The portion sizes were generous and the service was prompt and friendly. Overall, I had a great experience at the Soup Shoppe and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a delicious breakfast spot in Riverside.

Soup Shoppe was just okay.

My girlfriend and I decided to give this place a shot for breakfast and weren't impressed. Our initial hopes were high because the ambiance is cute and it has pretty good reviews but the food fell short of our expectations.

When you walk in you feel like you stepped foot inside someone's home. The service is also excellent. We went for breakfast and the place was packed but our server was attentive and kept our coffees filled. I ordered a basic breakfast and everything was super greasy. There was a pool of grease under my bacon and even my eggs were glossy. There was so much grease I had to use an entire napkin to dab up all the excess, not a good look for sure. The flavor of the food was mediocre at best. When I go out to eat I at least want the food to be prepared better than I can make myself. I did not feel like the food was anything special. The pancakes were tiny and very plain. There was nothing to set them apart. I asked for my hash brows well done and they arrived soft and mushy at best.

I would give this place a try again but for the time being, I'll leave Soup Shoppe at 3 stars.

This place was O.K, food was O.K, service was good, good prices but not memorable at all. I ordered a bagel sandwich but the bagel tasted cheap. My friend ordered the French toast combo and said it was ok. It wasn’t horrible so maybe it was what we ordered that might of not been the best. I did notice that a lot of their customers go there frequently, so maybe there are other things on the menu that are worth tasting.

I have been here at least 50 times and it is amazing. Food is awesome and well priced, service is amazing and wow they still serve real cream with your coffee. Today I was missing a hair tie, they noticed and found me one. I just can not say enough good things about this great little restaurant. This is one of those adorably cute spots that you just don't bring your LA judgement/hyper-critical alter ego to. Come here knowing this is a local favorite and an old fashioned diner. I loved all of the locals that venture here. There is such a friendly atmosphere here and the food (not judging like I typically do of LA spots) was good. I thoroughly enjoyed my Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. The gravy was creamy and perfectly paired with the steak. I could barely walk out of the diner after the large portions of my breakfast. My fiance enjoyed their Breakfast Sandwich with sausage. This came as sandwich rather than the expected croissant or another soft bread. The sandwich overall was good, he may try another breakfast item on our second trip over. Service was simply incredible, we had the lovely waitress that just made us feel we were in her own home kitchen.

For my fellow LA people, this is a cozy diner with only the best of company. Those seeking fancy brunches will be disappointed. But those seeking cozy breakfast to start their day will simply fall in love with this local spot.

Food was nasty over cooked and heard for being a soup place the potatoe was gross iit had chunks of flower in it. The service wad so bad will never go back and would never recommend this place to anyone.

Great atmosphere. Love their breakfast and lunch. Changed ownership a couple of years ago. Expect to see a lot of regulars. There is not a lot dining room space and the hours are limited. I come here whenever Im visiting relatives in the area. Small, local restaurant. Not fancy, good basic food. I love their sandwiches like egg salad, chicken salad, BLT, even a meatloaf sandwich. They have burgers, salads, and soup of course. No French fries. But they have potato salad and just plain potato chips instead. They also have a good breakfast menu which I have not ordered from as Im never there that early in the day. A few tables outside. A few tables downstairs and upstairs. Nice people working here. Always satisfied when we leave.

Was going to Little Green Onion but despite their sign that said open on Monday, they were not. Saw The Soup Shope in the same parking lot and gave it a try. I was very surprised. The atmosphere was way more inviting than L.G.O. Clean and pleasantly decorated, it is much more cozy than L.G.O. My wife and I split a loaded omelet. We are keeping to a low carb diet and the staff was sweetly accomodating. The staff is very kind and friendly. Im not a bathroom critic but it was very nice that they went out of their way to decorate it with such care. Overall, good omelette, cozy decor and great staff.

Got the corned beef hash and eggs with biscuits and gravy and fruit as my sides Girlfriend got the Morning Burger with pancakes for the side and a bowl of chicken and rice. Ended up finishing everything but the Burger. 8/10

The place is small and quaint which means they are making everything fresh on order. You will have lots of personal dining attention as needed. The staff is attentive and cordial and the food is great. I ve made this place a definite stop when I m in the area during any dining times.

Talk about your perverbial family hole in the wall and town gem!!! My brother told me about this place . One-day while waiting to go to the Little Green onion he noticed it. He said it was awesome . It had to try it. Its rather small location but....what it lacks in size it makes up for in service, quality and taste. The staff is super friendly and totally about the customer. The owner was even helping out which was cool. I ordered the crepes and the eggs and house potatoes with sausage. !!!! Loved it. My server who I forgot her name was the best...regular coffee warm ups and ensured I was taken care of. Got a new place to frequent for breakfast!!!

My husband and I haven t been there since the Covid closing went back and nothing taste the same. prices went up I was looking forward to turkey soup because that s what they re known for was nothing like it. it taste like soup from A can, prices went way high and the service was very slow not friendly like the other owners new owners and it s too bad because they re making the soup shop look bad ,the soup used to be so wonderful . We only went there because we were in the mood for soup and with Soup Shoppe as the name, what could go wrong? We were seated, given menus. Theres is a big sign on the wall that states something like where the locals gather to get their soup this is great I said. When the waitress came back I asked if I could see the soup menu and she says that is the soup menu! Wheres the soup, I asked. She takes the menu and looks and saysummm. You do have soup, I asked. Oh yes, we make it daily. She looked at a board near counter And listed 3 types. I ordered the split pea with ham in the large bowl. Our soups were finally delivered not in bowls but in a large type coffee cup. I ate mine, it had only 1 piece of ham smaller than a dime. My other two friends threw Thiers out.

Ordered the beef soup. And the polish sandwich and the turkey soup. First. They didn t give me the turkey soup with my order. 1. Prices are ridiculously high! 2. Called the soup shoppe but they have 3 soups to chooses from 3. The sandwich was so salty and plain it was disgusting 4. The beef soup is a signature thing here? It was bland no flavor and delivered cold. 5. Called to get refund for the turkey soup and they said the next time I eat here they will credit me. (I would never eat here again) I truly hate giving bad reviews but this place needs to redo its recipes and everything before they go out of business all together. So this review is to help them be better

Orange juice overpriced at $3/glass. Not sure if they allowed free refills. Most places dont. Also, theres a customer service fee of $1.13 they charge on top of your bill for using your debit/credit card. They never told my husband and I anything. It was just rung up. We only noticed it after. Very sneaky. We dont plan on coming back.

My number one favorite in Riverside. Ive been hankering for a tuna melt and the Soup Shop was nearby as I was in town. I miss the dine in experience. Im happy to support small businesses. They have an abbreviated Covid menu but you cant go wrong with your choice. I like that they give you extra mustard for their potato salad. The tuna melt was toasted to perfection.

This restaurant goes above and beyond to deliver great food safely. They actually care about their customers. They have made renovations to protect customers and create a more sanitary environment. My favorite food here is their Aspen sandwich. Its fresh oven cooked turkey meat(they cook one fresh everyday), melted cheese, tomato, and bacon . Be care with this one you might get hooked.

Support small businesses! Stopped in for a quart of turkey noodle soup and couldn t have chosen a better place! I came by when they had just reopened after closing for a while due to the pandemic. They have outdoor seating and a new checkout window that made everything easy and super safe due to Covid. 5/5 recommend and I ll definitely be back. Great food and great service

This place has a great staff, fantastic breakfast options, very good food and a nice small town type of vibe to it. The chicken fried steak was very tasty. Came to pick up an order was told to wait outside and it should be 5-10 minutes. They ever came to tell me it was ready over 20 minutes late so I went in and it was ready. Who knows how long it was sitting there before me going to check again.

What a disappointment this place is...My son told me about this place and said it was good.. Kids...I guess the are just happy to eat and not to be the ones cooking lol...well, we waited 45 minutes for our food, that was strike one...coffee is terrible, they keep a little container of coffee creamer on the table which for sanitary reasons Im not a fan of..whatever, I made the best of it and drank the coffee...breakfast was terrible, unseasoned potatoes..overcooked egss..bland waffle...how do you mess up breakfast? The only reason they get 2 stars its because the waitress was nice and pancakes were probably the best item on the menu. My husband did not like his French toast either, no flavor and soggy.

This place was O.K, food was O.K, service was good, good prices but not memorable at all. I ordered a bagel sandwich but the bagel tasted cheap. My friend ordered the French toast combo and said it was ok. It wasn t horrible so maybe it was what we ordered that might of not been the best. I did notice that a lot of their customers go there frequently, so maybe there are other things on the menu that are worth tasting.
