Loved our food and the team @ Roseville location! We are from a huge Greek neighborhood in NY and live here now. So glad we found our favorite Greek food spot! Thank You esp to the 2 lovely ladies taking our orders & the cook team in the back!!! We ordered the lamb souvlaki platters with rice, wrap sandwich + lamb, salad, extra tzatziki, dessert combo-- everything was delicious !! We sent pics of our meals to our friends so that we can order for friends next time. We plan to be back soon with more family & friends!

I had a fantastic dining experience at The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill. We started with the Hummus Appetizer, and I really enjoyed the warm hummus. It was smooth and flavorful, served with soft pita bread, and the temperature gave it a nice, comforting feel. For our main courses, we had the Classic Greek Salad with Gyro meat and the Great Greek Rice Bowl with Falafel. The salad was incredibly generous definitely more than I could eat by myself and the gyro meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. While I did feel spinach was missing, the freshness and quality of the ingredients made up for it, and it was still an excellent dish. The rice bowl was equally impressive, with crispy falafel, fluffy rice, and vibrant vegetables all coming together beautifully. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional customer service. Russell, the manager, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. His attentiveness and friendliness made us feel right at home, and it was clear that he truly cares about the customer experience. Overall, everything from the food to the service was top-notch. I highly recommend The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill for anyone looking for a delicious meal and a welcoming atmosphere.

Great food, I have eaten here like 3-4 times so far and will go back. FYI its not cheap, BUT what the heck is anymore. Everything is rediculous when a sandwich shop is selling a hoagie for $20, and a Carrot cake at the grocery store is $45 , what in the complete you know what. Service at this place fast, Atmosphere is typical walk up to the counter. This is not set up as a long dinner old world decor dark room Greek restaurant.

Native San Franciscan and decades of enjoying upscale quality dining and culturally diverse restaurants, now living in Roseville where fast food level eateries are prolific. Even if this restaurant is a national chain, but it excels in serving the closest to authentic Mediterranean style Greek food. What used to be the food mecca outside of Los Angeles, even in San Francisco Bay Area, gyro wraps are Americanized to pander to uneducated, culinary unworldly palates, not unlike why most mid to budget Chinese restaurants sabotage their cultural integrity to appease stereotypical American mainstream tastes. The Great Greek Mediterranean Grills litmus authenticity is that it also serves all lamb gyros, kabobs and complete meal plates. Everywhere else, combine beef with lamb, and still others add french fries to cut back on the meat inside the gyro wrap. The sliced lamb is tender and juicy. Plan on using lots of napkins as their meats are tender, moist and juicy. Also, not found anywhere else within at least three hundred miles in my eating excursions, is a creamy, rich baklava ice cream with subtle crunch of almonds and baklava crisp pieces with gentle streams of real honey. This restaurant/cafe also makes baklava and other desserts in-house. Most other places outsource almost everything. Usually, I will try most restaurants first before rendering an opinion, but rarely or never return if the food and service is ordinary and forgettable or just mimicking what is clearly not authentic. But I definitely intend to go back and try other choices. Place is very clean, friendly service and prices are justifiable as most portions are generous. For culturally diverse foodies and gourmands, especially those of us who have travelled sparing no expense abroad for cuisines typical of foreign country visited, this place is the closest to Greek/Mediterranean food experiebce outside of major cosmopolitan cities and upper middle class suburbs. If you prefer Americanized version, go to the other one east of Roseville - now that is definitely fast food short cut style. Vegetarian options: If you just order fresh crisp salads, they would be filling enough, as portions are not skimpy at all. But all tofu pressed meat substitutes cannot replace the seasoned and slow grilled goodness of their meats. Kid-friendliness: If you raised your kids to think every food should taste like greasy and salty french fries and cheap fast food hamburger meat and sugary sweet pasta sauce. then take them somewhere else. But if you have children exposed to real properly prepared fresh meals, then there will be items to be enjoyed. My parents cultivated my food tastes as soon as I could hold a fork. I did not have my first fast food anything until first year of college, and only if my budget was sparse at end of any month. Hot dogs were not part of my home diet not until I met up with friends whose parents thought that fortune cookies were authentic Chinese.

Nice, clean restaurant...friendly staff. Went with the Traditional Lamb Gyro (cooked for 5 hours and shredded). The pita and ingredients were fresh - my only complaint is the shredded lamb was pretty lacking in flavor. I tried to fix this with some lemon juice and pepper - nope. The feta fries were tasty - well seasoned, crispy, would order again. Looking forward to trying some other item on their menu.

I thought I already reviewed this, but I can t find it so I thought I d do it now because we got takeout there twice and both times were fantastic. Everything was excellent. We had the pita bread and the Taziki and a kebab and the soup and the ice cream was heaven. Definitely going back loved every bit of it. My new favorite Greek restaurant. And it s within walking distance. Love that.

Review №73

We had the loaded chicken fries and the lamb skewer meal. Chicken topping on fries was overly salty and heavy. Some of the pieces of lamb were too chewy and lacked flavor. Pita was different and we liked the more pancake-like texture. Rice pilaf was good but not memorable. Service was fine.

I changed my review from 4-star to 2-star after coming here a second time. I reiterate my original review that the portion sizes are laughable. Almost $9 for a side of feta fries. (Pictured) The food was well prepared and delicious. My wife and I really liked the eggplant and pita bread. However, the prices are quite high for the portion sizes. We spent $67 for a salald, chicken soulvaki, and two appetizers. Im glad we tried it, but well stick to our regular greek place that gives more food for the price.

I had ordered a couple of times from doordash and really enjoyed the gyros. So, I decided to order catering for my brothers 30th birthday party. The owner was incredibly helpful in helping me choose food to feed 50 people and offered plenty of suggestions. They delivered to my party and I got tons of compliments on how delicious the food was from my guests. The chicken skewers and pita and hummus were particular favorites. Food was well packaged and perfect temperature on arrival. There was plenty of food for everyone and I spent about $15 per person. They really made it stress free and easy for me. I would absolutely consider ordering from them again if I hosted another large event.

The man at the register was very kind and accommodating. The side salad was fresh and delicious. I would believe you if you said the hummus was store bought. No significant flavor, not too smooth, and not topped with oil, tahini, or other sauce as I am used to. The falafel was 100000% frozen, not made from scratch. It had perfectly smooth surfaces and a mushy inside with no texture. If you want a good greek/mediterranean cuisine experience I unfortunately wouldn t recommend this place.

I went in on Friday noon and placed my order to go. I had to wait for a while since the restaurant was busy with customers and pick up orders (around 15-20mins to get my order). - lamb souvlaki plate (medium well) with rice pilaf: the lamb was delicious! It was seasoned perfectly. Some of the smaller piece was cooked well done while the bigger chunks cooked perfectly medium well. The rice pilaf was super good! It was fluffy and flavorful but I was a bit disappointed that they only gave a thin layer of it. The sauce was suuuupper good! I scraped it till the last drop. - greek salad: the salad was fresh and good. The dressing was good and not too oily but it was too sour for my liking. The pita breads were awesome! It was soft, slightly toasted, and had a hint of garlic. - rice pudding: good! It was cooked perfectly (not mushy). The flavor was good and it had the perfect sweetness.

This is the second time I ve ordered here using Uber Eats - and it s been amazing. The food travels well, and that said it s been delicious. The feta fries would probably be a tad crispier in house, but they still show up crispy to my house. And don t sleep on them they re fire. I order the lamb medium rare and it comes hot and medium rare. And it s tender and has an awesome flavor profile. Both times I ve asked for feta fries and they still gave me a side salad - I ain t mad. I m very pleased. I just don t know if that s the norm.

We ve visited this place twice and both times were terrific. The staff is awesome and atmosphere perfect. The food is simple great and consistently good. So far, I ve tried their chicken kabobs plate with rice and the gyro. Everything has great flavor and they don t skimp on the portion size (I always have to bring home leftovers). Lets start with the Avgolemono soup (Greek Lemon Chicken soup with rice), it was entirely forgettable! It should be silky thick with consistency and some chicken and rice. This was totally watery, not a bit of chicken and barely any rice. . The Great Greek Gyro has potential; but, doesnt rise to the standard. Its not bad; could do without so much lettuce and a better prepared tzatziki sauce. The Hummus was good and the Grilled Chicken Souvlaki w/rice was quite good. All in all.... its okay; just nothing special.

If you have room left after you plater I would recommend any of the desserts as they are all amazing. They even have a sample plater for all three if you would prefer to try them all for $10. This place is honestly the best Greek food I ve had in the greater Sacramento area. Everything tasted fresh and the service was amazing. Highly recommend the baklava ice cream!
