Good chai is so hard to find, but this place is one of the few exceptions in the City. I liked that there was an option to get an entire pot of chai and that it was served on an ornate platter tea party style with the coconut & pomegranate Turkish delight and pistachio milk cake I also ordered. The service could be a bit better; I felt like the guy really did not want to be there. Also, I thought it was strange that it s not standard practice to prepare the chai beverages with non-dairy alternatives since other similar places offer it up front without question. When I went, there were only a couple of others sitting quietly grinding out some work. It felt weird to talk because I didn t want to disturb them. Not a bad experience overall though, as the chai and treats were yummy.

There s been a surge of Yemeni / middle eastern style coffee shops in the Bay Area which is very good news. I ve gone to all of the ones that have locations in SF, and I gotta say that Sana a s cafe does it the best. The inside is not hectic, the atmosphere is super relaxing and most importantly the coffee here is simply phenomenal. Super aromatic, nice cardamom taste, and not bitter at all. The staff are very nice and the sweets and bee bites are phenomenal. This place sets the bar high, and always has me coming back for more!

Great location, low prices, pleasant service, good tables to work on a laptop. Yemeni coffee is interesting with all of the spices they add. Very different from European style coffees. And they have nice little breakfast pies as seen in the picture.

They ve got a nice selection of Middle Eastern teas, and my favorite is the Adeni Chai, very much like Indian Masala chai, but no masala just some ginger and cardamom. Order a small pot - it s good for two and comes in a cute carafe with a tea light to keep it warm. Perfect for a cozy tea break!

Nice study/work cafe open 7 days a week serving premium Yemeni coffee & teas. As it gets colder, Ive grown to truly savor the spices seasoning my coffee, enjoying how the flavor subtly changes as you drink it. In the intimate lighting at nighttime, its surprisingly large inside considering how deep the tables go into the cafe. Gets crowded with the tech morning & evening rush hours making seating scarce. service is friendly & efficient, just ask! Will return to try the food next time.

Im surprised by the 4.7 rating because my experience didn t match up. I visited on a busy weekend, and there was only one staff member handling everything, so the service was very slow. Both the coffee and tea were bland, and the pastries tasted stale. The presentation didn t help either, as the plates were ridiculously small. Additionally, the trash can was overflowing, and the bathroom was in poor condition. There were no tissues, and dish soap was being used instead of hand wash. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but it wasn t a good experience overall.

Super cute Yemeni coffee place. Very reasonable prices. We tried the saffron milk cake, cheese fatayer, lemonade and pistachio latte. Total came to less than $30x Interior design is very cute, lots of lighting and traditional. The coffee was delicious and lemonade too. The milk cake was a bit at the top so it probably needed more soaking or thicker milk. Otherwise loved this place highly recommend!

Nice atmosphere: Other customers tend to be working professionals, which gives this place a nice energy! Also, there are many outlets making it great for working here for a longer time. Excellent service: I received a good explanation when I was confused on what food to order. Also, I had dropped the first teapot I ordered and made a huge mess. Thankfully, Paula was very kind and patient, and she immediately came over to clean everything. She was gracious enough to make me another pot, and I appreciated her great service. TLDR: Shoutout to Paula! What I ate: 3 flatbreads (1 cheese, herb and potato) and 1 custard. I liked the potato the most. What I drank: 1 jubani coffee and 1 Adani chai teapot

Wandered into this little coffee shop while exploring the neighborhood. They have Turkish coffee and an assortment of Yemeni coffees. It was interesting to learn about them because they are roasted much lighter - my husbands light roast was actually greenish colored. Tons of caffeine, I think! I got the chai and it was not spicy like Indian Chai but more aromatic because of the cardamom and with a slight bitterness from nutmeg. You can get it unsweetened which I really appreciate! Also had a deliciously flaky baklava that was perfectly sweet. Wheelchair accessibility: Single level, enough room to maneuver

Sana s Cafe offers a unique Yemeni-style experience. During my visit, I ordered the Adeni pot of tea, and it was served in a small pot that was sufficiently satisfying for two people. The space itself is a delightful blend of Middle Eastern charm, featuring intricate designs and a cozy atmosphere. What truly stood out was the assortment of Middle Eastern bakery and desserts that adorned the counter, adding to the overall appeal of the shop. Now, let s talk about the Adeni Tea a flavorful journey that captivated my taste buds. The Adeni Tea showcased a perfect balance of robustness and fragrant notes, creating a warm and inviting experience. The combination of the unique Yemeni-style ambiance, and the enjoyable Adeni Tea made my visit to Sana s Cafe fairly good experience. Reason for -1 star due to the service here can take a while for the drinks preparation.

This is a nice little spot. I believe its Yemeni, which is one of the places claiming premium coffee beans - if not to be the originator of coffee. I had the sanaa coffee which is one made with cardamom. I have had Turkish coffee and some others with cardamom - an excellent pairing. This one was a bit disappointing for me - the coffee did not really come through. And it was so hot that I had to wait about 20 minutes before I could sip it.... which I had not signed up for when I ordered. I was warned about the heat levels once I was served. Would have been nice to know. The shop has a nice, chill atmosphere and loads of outlets - clearly meant for you to sit, chat, or work. Which I did. And this is an excellent place for it. Maybe my expectations for the coffee was too high as a person who has had a lot of Turkish and Arabic coffee, but I was disappointed there. However, its a really nice space to work in! Maybe get the tea instead - I hear its good :)

Be careful, it comes boiling hot. I recommend taking the lid off and letting it cool a bit. This Adeni chai is probably the best Adeni chai I ve had. I ve tried a handful of other Yemeni coffee shops and this one has the best flavor, texture, and sweetness. This cafe is a great spot to hang out with friends or get some work done. They ve got a variety of seating including bar seating, table seating, and couches. I do wish this place was open a little later, at least on the weekends. Would be a great nighttime hangout spot.

A nice, quaint cafe. This place is smaller, in a good location, and has never been a burden to go to. Their tea is good, the patrons have always been chatting quietly among themselves or are doing work on their laptop. Their various pastries have been tasty when we sampled them. Some of the atmosphere here feels a bit.... rudimentary, but not in a disingenuous way, if anything it feels more honest and easy to hang out at. Weve gone here several times now, tried different teas and have enjoyed some snacks each time. Every time we are here we have a good experience. I suspect this will be a place we look for if were ever around the Metreon. Really enjoyed this place.
