Black Bear Diner Santa Clarita

Went for the first time last week after passing by many times. So good! Eggs were cooked perfectly as I ordered, their homemade sausage is so good! The French toast was really good as well. Great service on a weekday morning. Can’t wait to go back.

I haven't been here in 5 years. Had the open face turkey sandwich. The Turkey was very salty and bland. The food too itself was cold. The mashed potatoes were good.

I love having breakfast here. They have a delicious New York strip and eggs. I also LOVE their pancakes and other sweet treats. Laura did an outstanding job with service. The restaurant is very clean. I sat and read the menu learning about the restaurant and its history. I definitely recommend Black Bear Diner. They always make you feel like family.

First time at a Black Bear Diner, and I enjoyed my time. Our waitress was very sweet and welcoming. My only gripe was that I ordered my steak medium, and it came almost well done. Still, the food overall was delicious, and since I'm not one of those picky customers, I ate the steak as is. But I know there are others who are extremely picky , and this may be an issue.

My family and I love coming here for breakfast. Food is always great, friendly atmosphere and the employees are always really friendly and attentive. This weekend, in particular we had Juan who was very attentive with my daughter and I. Even though he was helping other customers and was not our primary host, he helped us with our needs with a smile. Small gestures like that is what continue to bring us back every time. I also love the cute little merch they have!

I usually have a great experience at all of your establishments, but I didnt share the same experience at your Santa Clarita, CA location. I went in this week with my business partner for a quick bite of breakfast, and was met with one of the older female servers. I will leave her nameless for her protection, unless establishment wants her name for coaching purposes. Our server initially started off being pleasant, until our orders came in incorrectly. When she realized she made the mistake on our order she came back to retrieve our food and took our utensils as well. When she brought back out our correct order she failed to provide us with replacement utensils. During this time she was still met with respect and never once was treated rudely. However, us asking her for one more thing clearly made her frustrated. She became more passive aggressive in her response. Once we finally had our food and utensils, the server came by to provide me and my business partner with one napkin each. It was clear we had overstayed our welcome and it was time to go. We never received a single apology for the inconvenience we were caused, but yet we were paying close to 100.00 to eat at your establishment. To have a server who should be grateful to have employment, treat a paying customer that way is baffling. Especially a courteous customer. I would strongly recommend this management team to properly qualify the people they are hiring. If they work in a service job, thats just what it means. If theres a mistake made with an order, apologize and fix the issue. Never ever make a customer feel bad for a mistake you made. Unacceptable.

Always a friendly spot for a nice family meal. The staff could be a hit or miss with some going missing for a while (if you are seated up top). The food is always on the larger portion side, the servers are very kind, the food is very good, plenty of parking, and clean bathrooms. Always a nice time coming here.

The Santa Clarita Diner has a friendly and helpful staff. Daisy, A.J., Justin, Indiana, Irlandia , and the manager in the kitchen all make it a great experience despite the challenges of maintaining despite job market turbulence thanks to Big Bother policies. I eat breakfast at Black Bear Diner when I get my car serviced. I keep coming back because the staff is polite and the food is good and plentiful. Today I ordered the Stuffed BlackBerry French toast for the first time. It was so tough that I had a hard time cutting and chewing it. I thought I was served one that had been sitting a while so I asked the waitress to get a new one. The second one came and it was less tough but still hard to cut and eat. The cook watched me take the first bite and I politely waived but I dont recommend the Stuffed BlackBerry French toast.

There were tons of seats but we were waited for 5min to be seated. Once seated we waited 5+min for a server to appear and get our order. Once we ordered our food, we waited another 5+min for drinks. Once foods were delivered, we were not able to see the face of the server again during eating. Very poor service. Food was not great, just acceptable, but I never felt we were welcomed and treated as customers. I will never visit again.

Black Bear is our go to for holiday dinners. You can get individual meals which can also be pre-ordered if you prefer and the portions are enormous. Easter 2024 the options were ham and prime rib, comes with delicious mashed potatoes, green beans with bacon, cornbread and a salad. The ham was sooooo good and the whole meal was enough for seconds the next day. Highly recommend!

Our waiter, Juan was unfriendly and didnt get us anything we asked for except our order. (We asked for silverware and a side of dressing.) It was overpriced and empty yet he barely bothered to see how we were doing. The food was ok. Dr. Praigers makes an interesting choice for veggie patty that personally I wouldnt recommend but wasnt horrible. Just not a great experience, not worth going back.

We have been here many times. The food portions are huge and delicious. Service has always been great. My only complaint was the shakes. I was looking forward to an oreo cookie shake. This tasted more like room temperature milk with a couple of Oreos mixed in. My stepson said his vanilla shake was the same. It was cool at best, definitely not cold. It wasnt sweet at all. I was definitely disappointed . Well be back but will skip the shakes from now on.

I ve always liked Black Bear for its breakfast food. We were seated immediately as we came in at a good time, but the place got busy pretty quickly (good sign). Food was good, service was efficient, and overall this place is still a great place to get breakfast/brunch.

ICE COLD SLOP. The extra crispy Hasbrows were freezing and limp. Eggs Benedict was SLIMY. I expected better considering I spent $65 for roadside breakfast. Slow service and there were no other customers. Won t waste my money next time.

She gave the best recommendations it was our first time and the menu had so many options but she quickly ran us through it and gave recommendations based on our preferences. Our Christmas Day host cancelled last minute due to illness. We found Black Bear open when other restaurants were closed. What a treat! Our little group felt welcomed and enjoyed a scrumptious meal during nice conversation. Thanks to Gale for providing friendly service on this holiday. Parking: Lots of open spaces this holiday!

My family and I dine here several times. My favorite is the Pesto Fettuccine with blackened salmon, you don t get pesto like that anywhere. Mimosas with freshly squeezed OJ, wow! That s my drink with breakfast or brunch.

This diner is okay, nothing special about it. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and french toast. My eggs were ok., somewhat overcooked for my taste. The french toast were not good, I only took one bite and was not impressed. I also tasted the pancakes and, again I was not impressed. The service was good, we were seated upon arrival. Probably will not return anytime soon.

Its OK. Really expensive for a chain restaurant and nothing special about their food. A mom and pop place would be cheaper and better tasting. Dont think Ill be back as the food isnt worth the crazy prices. Over $5.00 for a lemonade and most all meals are over $10. Even just the small bites average $12.99 per meal which consist of one egg and choice of toast and a piece of meat. Eh.

As a first time customer, I was quite surprised, not only by the level of quality of the food here but also the price. For a little less than $30 (minus whatever tip you leave), they pile your plate with pretty good food. Granted, I had the dinner combo with two free sides, but they ensured there was barely an inch of empty space on my plate. There was so much on my plate that I didn t even finish (a rarity). I ordered the tri-tip and shrimp combo here and while my expectations weren t that high, it was still great quality food, especially for the price I paid (my combo was almost $25). I came in at a pretty slow day so the only other customers were a small family and an elderly couple, so it was quiet. The decor is quite nice. They really do lean in on the bear theme. It has this woodsy vibe like I was in a cabin. There s a coziness to this atmosphere as well that s welcoming and entices me back to it. Again, I stress the affordability of this place and how the quiet, subtle atmosphere gives off this at-home feeling. Service here is great. They treat you like actual guests. Although there are other food options here in this lot, Black Bear is by far the best option. The service was standard but good. What really caught me off-guard though was the food. I really did not expect that level of quality. I was expecting something along the lines of a standard, boring diner. But it was surprisingly better. The tri-tip was seasoned beautifully. A little dry but there is steak sauce if needed. The fries were crisp and salted perfectly. The fried shrimp was one of the best I ve ever had, too. I could feel the crunch with every bite. Would I return here? For the prices that they offer, the quality of the food, and just the nice, quiet atmosphere (at least on a slow day), I definitely would. Highly recommend as well. It may not seem like much on the outside, but it is good food. Grade: A-
