Olive Terrace Bar & Grill

I made a reservation for our party of 13. First they had us down for the right time and number of guests but on the wrong day. They called and I corrected them.

When we arrived, there was plenty of parking and the restaurant is beautiful. We were ushered to the patio area I had requested, but they split our soup up into two tables (9 and 4), because of the space constraints on the patio.

The server came and took our drink orders. I requested separate checks, which they understandably could not accommodate, so we split our check into 4 for easier computation.

The rest of our experience begins to go downhill. It was a long time before they brought the bread and took our order and then a very, very long time before we received our meals, which were both beautiful and delicious. Many of us wanted dessert and coffee, but due to the delays in getting our dinner, our time had run out. So the restaurant missed out of additional revenue.

Absolutely a great experience overall and would come back again but would budget much more time to accommodate the slow service.

Great location with some fantastic food! Nice attention to detail, but be aware when they are busy the service, especially near the end of the meal might get slow. I would have easily ordered one more drink, but the waiter was missing for 20m or so, and we just decided to pay and leave. However, the food was worth the trip and I would easily go again.

Ahoy matey! You best grab your map to find the entrance and there surely is no treasure here. I sent my meal back because it tasted like the ocean, it was way too salty, and paid $22 for a watermelon sitting on a bed of lettuce. Altogether, 2 glasses of wine, hummus, and a watermelon salad cost $70!!!! I thought we were finding booty here because the outside greenery made it look pleasing to the eye, but all that glitters ain't gold! Hats off to the guitarist... You made it worth the second ⭐.

We all got Charbroiled Salmon Persian kabobs. They were good but the pilaf rice was dry and not that great. They serve you a huge serving of pilaf but we didn't eat it since it was so dry. The pita bread/ lavash bread thing was at the bottom all soggy and honestly not enough pita. It was a nice place for a date and for wine lovers. I went for the food but unfortunately will not return. I can get these kabobs from food trucks at a much cheaper price. Very pricey but we like to be fancy sometimes.

The food was delicious. There was a spread of minced(?) olives at the table with some French bread, and I had a wonderful pasta dish, the roasted garlic fresca.

Oh my God! I found this place doing a Google search for restaurants nearby. Great food! Great fine! The menu is very diverse. My husband says “Fantastic service” also. We came here for our wedding anniversary, and the atmosphere has a touch of both romantic, and casual at the same time. Has outside seating also. Must come to check this place out.

Cute place. The food was great a little pricey tho. Live band on the patio (saturday). I was dining inside, so I didnt get to enjoy the band. I prefer a little music when dining out (adds to the ambiance), so that was a bummer. In any case, Id recommend it.

This was a terrible experience. First time at this restaurant. Made a reservation and requested to sit inside. They decided to sit us outside next to a water fountain. Wait staff was slow and food took more than an hour to come out after we ordered. The appetizer we ordered was the artichoke jalapeño dip which tasted fine but the pita chips they served with it were burnt over fried and soaked in oil.The waitress admitted that happens all the time (why would you even serve it like that). When the food finally came out it was cold and over cooked. Seems like it was sitting out for awhile ( not very safe). We said something about the appetizer and about the entrees being over cooked and cold. Waitress took the appetizer off the bill. ( again why would you even serve it). Wish I took a picture so everyone could see how gross it was. Paid full price for the rest and ended up not eating anything. They didn t even offer to redo it or not charge us. All we got was excuses about being short handed ( that would explain the wait time .but what about the overcooked cold food?). Don t go here. I have lived in Santa Clarita for 6 years and this will be the first and last time at this restaurant

B+ Rating and rodents! It is rare that Im confused what to rate a restaurant. Mediterranean Italian Fusion...Interesting right? I was excited to try and we came to celebrate my wifes and I, 13th Anniversary. The best part of the experience at Olive Terrace was the environment with the vines and live music playing. The table for 2 is very tight once you order food and drinks so if there is a table for 4 available, that would be my preference. I ordered the Cioppino which was good and the Santa Fe Shrimp Linquini which was delicious but definitely spicy even for someone that likes hot and spicy. We ordered the baked oysters which were served on a mount of salt. The oysters were underwhelming, lacking flavor and balance, which is perhaps why they give you a mound of salt. Drinks: We ordered a bloody mary which was good, a Angry Orchard which was served in a chilled glass, and I ordered a Negroni. The bloody mary was good and angry orchard was as expected. I have never ordered a negroni so I cant say what it was suppose to taste like but it was nasty and only had a small sip. The table next to us seemed to have ordered a similar drink and saw they left the glass full as well. The Surprise; There were rodents (mice I believe) that were all around the outdoor terrace. I didnt see it at the table while eating, but when I left there were a group of them (At least 5) running all around (8-9pm) the trash can along the side of the restaurant and the border of the patio. They were huddled under the trash can, but I even saw one climb up the terrace of the Olive Terrace to the restaurant. It is concerning to know they couldve been hanging above me while I was eating. I do not know if this is related to the B rating but it is concerning to say the least. When I mentioned it to the host he didnt seem too surprised. How do I rate the atmosphere, or overall rating? Should I contact the health department? I could post photos of the mice or video of them running around but out of respect for the owners, I hope they will seek to remedy the situation. Hopefully they care but other reviews and the lack of responses would suggest otherwise.

We should have left the moment we walked in the door. The service was so slow and it wasn t busy. The owner was there and he is the rudest person I ve ever met. The Food was just ok not worth the prices. They messed up all our cocktails twice. We will not be back.

Fun little restaurant with a nice patio/garden area. A casual restaurant with okay food. It s a fun place to grab a small bite and a cocktail. It s not a a fine dining experience for sure. Service can be slow at times and the food is not consistent. None-the-less, we enjoy the the bistro chopped salad and the penne bolognaise with garlic bread, as well as other items. We like to sit on a high top in the bar area. We also enjoy the garden/patio area when they have live music. Its a charming little area. It s a fun restaurant with okay food.

The Fathers Day brunch could have been better and not as pricey. The lamb, prime rib, steak, kebabs were all as dry as shoe leather. Pita bread was stale, like eating cardboard and just as hard. Probably very old and it was served anyway. The only good thing were the marshmallows. While the selection of food was quite extensive, it could have tasted better. The seafood was tasty. Rice in the paella was burnt. The quality of the food and the service have certainly deteriorated from previous occasions.

Dont know where to begin... had a large party for booked w/a fixed menu for 40 people to celebrate my daughters wedding. Newlywed Brunch. Many of the guests were from out of state, with flights that evening. No one ever imagined or planned to by attend a brunch for over 4 hours. Especially the day after fun filled wedding. They were simply exhausted. If anything could go wrong, it did! With the exception of our set apps and initial drink order taken and delivered in timely, it went downhill from there. How can you not be prepared with a large party booked out weeks in advance and set 6 item fixed menu?! To begin, with one waitstaff, it took well over an hour for our food orders to be taken. Then it took well over an hour to bring out the first few plates. food was brought out for 3-4 people at a time. with about 20-30 min wait between the next food drop. after repeated requests for the owner, he just hid in the kitchen, refusing to deal with the situation. After initial drink order, guests werent asked if they wanted a second. As food was coming out of the kitchen it was cold. Food dropped off, left on a round serving tray and not passed. No one new whos food it was and why it was sitting on the tray. Often food came out cold and at times not as requested. I had a few guest that had to pick up food on their way home. There was one plate after finally showing up had a hair on it. Before leaving this review, I gave the owner and manager Tammy to make good of the situation, but not response. An absolute embarrassment to the parents of the newlyweds! Please note, Im not one to write negative reviews. I just learn and move on. Given they have not returned my calls, myself and my guests are now free to leave their reviews on their experience.

Honestly one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had. We came here to celebrate my sisters wedding with our family that came into town. We had been in communication with the restaurant months prior giving them ample time to prepare. We basically had to beg the wait staff to bring our drinks out. Then the food? Not only did it take 2 hours for food to start coming out, not a single order was correct. Bread was over toasted on sandwiches, eggs not seasoned, and wait staff simply didnt care. Over half of the party never received their food and if they did, their orders were wrong or had hair in it. With months to prepare, I simply dont understand how they were not prepared to serve our party. I had family members blood sugar dropping and medical issues spiking as we waited 3+ hours for their meals. The manager we were able to speak with was a coward. Not once did he apologize. He offered my sister a DRINK when the complaints first began. He pretended there were no issues and that they had done no wrong. I was so embarrassed the entire time because we brought family members that had traveled in for the wedding and most left hungry or disappointed. We didnt expect to waist 4 hours of our day at this establishment.

HORRIBLE, SHAMEFUL EXPERIENCE. IF I COULD RATE IT 0 STARS, I WOULD. I got married in early June and had 40 family members travel from across the country to be here. Months in advance, we planned with Olive Terrace to host a post-wedding brunch. We went back and forth over email to curate our menu. We planned for 30-35 guests, then updated to 40 the weekend of because some family members surprised us at the wedding. They had months to plan and prepare for our visit. Waitstaff was not attentive and just lazy. The first round of drinks took forever. After that, you never got offered a second drink. We had pre-selected two appetizers per table. Some tables only got one. When brought to waitstaff s attention, they did nothing about it. Other than the horribly lazy service, food did not start coming out til 1.5-2 hours in. The first dishes to come out were also MADE WRONG. The waitstaff did not offer to remake them. They said oh and walked away. After being there for 3-3.5 hours, HALF of our guests still have no received their meals! Some meals had hair in them, HALF of them were made incorrectly, some undercooked or over cooked. (Mind you, no one has received or been offered a second round of drinks at this point). The point of this brunch was to thank my family for spending money on plane tickets and hotels to travel from New York, Virginia, Mexico, Arizona, and other states to come to my wedding. We wanted to bless them with a beautiful meal. My guests were left HUNGRY. I had elderly aunt s and uncle s who were unable to take their medication because they had not eaten yet. They were going into medical episodes. After 2-2.5 hours of waiting for food (maybe sooner), myself and my parents were trying to speak with the owner, who was present, to discuss our disappointment with the service so far. He remained in the kitchen and would not come out after several, several attempts. We watched each staff member one by one go back there and ask for him to come out, and he continued to refuse like a coward. (There is a clear glass window to the kitchen. We watched him stand there and not come out every time.) I m just at a loss for words. We had the most beautiful, stunning wedding and to end the weekend at the Olive Terrace was the biggest mistake we could ever make. We NEVER received an apology, the owner NEVER came out. I feel sick to my stomach as I right this reflecting on this joke of a brunch. The memories of embarrassment that I had felt that morning make me sick The worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my entire life. My family is full of successful professionals and business owners. We were all in disbelief of the lack of accountability. I could truthfully write a 5-page essay on the horrible experience, this is me NOT going into detail. There are many things that went wrong that I just don t have to patience to write out. I will of course never return to this restaurant, but I will also make sure every person that I know local to SCV or traveling here will never dine at this joke of an establishment. You should absolutely be ashamed of yourselves for treating people the way you did. Do not know how you could sleep at night.

Its horrible. This is my second time visiting this place. The first experience I was vitiated and told that I couldn t place an order on the street and they sent me inside. There the manager apologized, gave us a menu and sent us outside again. The soup was brought in a broken plate with pieces of glass. I ate it, left it as a tip and left. Today I visited again and showed that a young man, a waiter worker, saw me on the street and shook his head as if he d wait. And he s been gone for 20 minutes, I wait and continue to sit by the fountain. No service at all in this place. Absolutely all employees don t care if I m not even suitable. Its a shame.

I had lunch there recently. The service was quick and friendly. I had an Old Fashioned that was well made. The Ruben sandwich is quite good as were the fries served on the side. There is plenty of parking available. I would return in the future.

Tried twice and was disappointed twice. I ve never written a negative review, but felt inclined because I used to love this place. Went to celebrate with my mom and my lamb arrived raw when it came back it was too tough to cut through. The server was great but for the price, it was greatly disappointing. Ordered through their website portal today and waited 45 mins for a single artichoke appetizer. I m very understanding and would maybe understand for a Friday dinner rush, but it is Wednesday at 4pm. Kitchen needs a bit of a check especially for $20 per artichoke.

Such horrible service! There was barely any customers in the restaurant, but took forever to be seated. Waiter was rude, service was poor and slow. So disappointed with this, considering how expensive their food is. Had to always look for our server, as he kept disappearing. Ive had better food and service for cheaper. Avoid this restaurant!

Somewhat disappointing experience. Started off with stale (hard) bread and butter, then the ribeye and grilled asparagus (asparagus was black at the tips). Server was very responsive. But food was well below par for over $100 for just one person (including two glasses of basic wine).

We come here almost every time we travel to LA from Bakersfield. It never disappoints. Every waiter/waitress has been amazing, as well as the host. Food is outstanding . I order something new every time, and Im never disappointed, surprised, but not disappointed. My favorite dish has been the spicy shrimp pasta. The Paella is also very, very good. The crusted sword fish is also on top choice. It can get packed, but somehow, it doesnt feel crowded. Ill keep coming back to the spot.

The food was incredible. Our server Audra was a delight and even recommended a new wine that has become our neclw favorite. Restaurant is very well decorated and had a relaxing or calming type atmosphere. The exterior offers patio dinning with a beautiful garden like setting a water feature. We will definitely make this Restaurant part of our regular rotation.

Do not order the paella. The dish is overcooked and over seasoned. Two of the clam shells had no clams, the mussels were rubbery and the other pieces of fish tasted like wood. The rice was so spicy it burnt my tongue. My daughter ordered eggplant and it was good. Also the spaghetti and meatballs were good.

It s a pretty rare occurrence that I will take the time to review a place, but this place was out of this world fantastic. Food, atmosphere, and service were all spot on. We were passing thru taking the kids up to play in the snow at Frasier Park and discovered a hidden gem. We will be back for sure.

I came for a holiday work dinner. The restaurant is very nice and decorated uniquely. The service was really good and attentive and very classy. We ordered calamari, hummus, and stuffed mushrooms for the table and they were all high quality ingredients. I ordered the baked chicken Parmesan and really enjoyed it. For my taste it was a bit pricey but the atmosphere and service and food quality matched the price.

Truly a gem here in Santa Clarita. They decorate so beautifully at the holidays and the staff is top notch. I hope you dont have trouble making decisions - their menu is massive and they have specials for the season. I had the swordfish which was excellent. Everyone at our table of 12 really enjoyed what they ordered as well.

Portions are amazingly filling. The food is delicious, earned its 5 stars!!! It can get pricey but its great for an event out, birthdays, dates, celebrations, best with a crowd but those plates with portions will take up space. I recommend the lasagnas!

We had an enjoyable time with friends on two occasions, days apart. Our first experience was so good, we chose this place to meet up with another friend. Worth it! Our first meal consisted of CALAMARI for our app, SEA BASS, and the summer ROTISSERIE CHICKEN WALDORF SALAD. They served us BREAD with 3 SPREADS that was a nice start as we waited for the apps. Service was on point and perfectly timed. Love being with our friends in such a lovely place. Our second time, days later, we ordered GRILLED ARTICHOKE for the app. I have to say it was perfection. We were so happy that was what we ordered. Absolutely delicious and not overwhelming before our dinner was served. We had WEDGE SALAD & SOUP and SWORDFISH. Every bite was unbelievably flavorful and scrumptious. Our server was attentive and part of our fun. Next time were in Santa Clarita, we will definitely dine here again.

We re new to this town and this is our new favorite restaurant. Great wine list, bottomless mimosas, amazing food (have tried 5 dishes so far and they have been exceptional-I had the best Branzino I ve ever had here) and good service!

My favorite restaurant in Santa Clarita. Best happy hour 7 days a week with an awesome menu. Complimentary hors d oeuvres during happy hour with music. Always fabulous! Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. I ve been there for Thanksgiving and other holidays with children.

Happy hour prices were very reasonable with a few complimentary appetizers in the bar area. Drinks were very good with a generous pour. A+ to the bartender. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options on the menu for appetizers as well as mains. Parking: Large free parking lot for the shopping center; however, one must wait a bit as the lot is usually full due to many businesses.

This was very authentic food. I love eating eggplant parmigiana and this restaurant has the best one I have ever tried. My son ate the pasta bolognese and loved it too. The calamari was delicious and the bruschetta was served in a pretty manner, the only thing was it had blue cheese. I liked it but my son didn t like it.

Very nice place and romantic near the fountain. There is live music. The waiters are polite. I was very pleased that the dishes were brought out for everyone at the same time. And the empty dishes are immediately, invisibly removed. Kid-friendliness: You can sit outside. We had a 5 month old baby with us

Back again and adding more photos of the chicken lasagna and the Salmon Florentine. Both were great but my table voted the Lasagna over the Florentine. Ive returned for a 2nd time & the service was just as incredible. This time I enjoyed the eggplant parmesean. Delightful! The waitress was wonderful & her drink suggestions were spot on! All you need is 1 drink & youre feeling good.

Pros: delicious pastas & great cheeseboard. The lobster ravioli was also great. Also, live music and nice outdoor seating Cons: boring grilled oysters and terrible ciopinno. The ciopinno was a large pan of watered down tomato sauce with 1-2 shellfish, 1-2 calamari, and a couple of medium shrimp.

Ok this place is Phenomenal!!! Food was excellent 10stars. Our waiter Daniel was amazing friendly & so attentive.First time there, We will forsure be coming back. I had the Pomegranate Chicken (Fesenjan) so amazing. We also had date cake for dessert that was out of this world!!! I forgot to snap pics of the food. However I got a pick of the dessert. I made a reservation for Mother s Day and no where on their website did they include the price of their buffet that they were serving on Mother s Day. Well, come to find out that when we got to the restaurant, they were charging $74 PER PERSON!! They weren t even serving a la carte plates, just the buffet. I saw a lot of people leave the restaurant when they found out that information, including myself and my family. Shame on you, Olive Terrace. You intentionally left out the price of the buffet on your website in hopes that by the time your customers arrive you d hit them with the price of the buffet and they d have no choice but to dine in because all the other nice restaurants are fully booked on Mother s Day. You guys are crooks and should be ashamed of yourselves for pulling a stunt like that.

We like going here. Very good food and mostly reasonably priced. Thats why we chose to go there last night for our 43rd anniversary. We booked the reservation on Open Table, which went well and the receptionist (owner?) even commented you requested a quiet table area for your anniversary. So much so good. BUT...We were seated next to another couple 3 away. We could hear their conversation as if they were with us. This was supposed to be a nice quiet evening. Then, at the end of dinner, some places offer a free slice of cake/pie (whatever) to celebrate the occasion. Nope. Not only not mentioning the anniversary, but no offer from our server LEAH about dessert options, let alone a cup of coffee or after dinner drink... (just was made to feel like she thought she could get another couple to sit there that night, a Wednesday, to get another tip). Thanks to Leah, and the receptionist/owner, were going to give second thoughts on returning if other options are available. Just a little effort on their part, and it would have been a memorable night.

Great restaurant all around, fantastic staff, and quick service. We got here at 8pm on a Saturday night and still found seats at the bar. The drinks were strong! My dish was the butternut squash ravioli was light yet filling at the same time.

We always enjoy the food from Olive Terrace. Service was prompt and attentive. Love their atmosphere, it has warm character Parking: This restaurant is located along a string of businesses. There is a lot of parking dependent upon time of day and busy-ness of surrounding businesses.

We had the MEDITERRANEAN SHRIMP COCKTAIL, Cioppino and Spicy Sarnta Fe Roasted Shrimp Linguini for early dinner. The service was friendly and courteous. Our order was served in a timely manner. We both enjoyed our dinner and have nothing negative to report about the restaurant. Well be good back for future visits. The restaurant has a cozy ambience for indoor dining.

Me and my family went there and were greeted very pleasantly, we got to our table the servers were very responsive got us bread and water and took our orders very quickly. We ordered the beef stroganoff, the Valencia salad and crème brûlée. The beef stroganoff was under seasoned and over oiled to the point where one bite of it messed up all of our mouths throats and stomachs. The Valencia salads chicken was burnt and was presented on a plate rather than boil making it hard to eat, the crème brûlée was over cooked and curdled and the crust was soggy and did not caramelize. Overall the service was excellent and the servers were friendly while the food was beyond poor and not up to par with the prices charged.

Ive been here a bunch of times, both for lunch and happy hour and Ive never been disappointed. Great food, great service and atmosphere. They have a nice patio area too. I particularly like the Chicken Kabobs. This is not a fast food joint and its not a cheap place either but it is certainly one of the best restaurants in Santa Clarita. Ill definitely be going back.
