I liked this place.
Decor was low key.
They appeared to be playing Korean R&B / pop music.
The food was pretty good, with some inventive appetizers. It was a little oversauced in some cases (the edamame, the spider roll).
Everyone enjoyed it.

We ate here before going to Six Flags Fright Fest and it was delicious! I’m really sad this restaurant isn’t closer to where we live because I would go all the time! They have a daily dinner sushi happy hour where all rolls are 30% off. The sushi and service was great and this will be our new spot anytime we go to Six Flags.

This place is absolutely amazing. The staff is super friendly, the environment is super clean and has a great ambiance to it. The food was A++++ I started with their Appetizers, Tocai sampler and it was amazing 🤤
Then their Rockstar hand roll. They also have Baked rolls
and I had their Kingster roll, as well their Eel and avocado roll. It was my first time having something like that and it was so good. I tried their Fresh rolls, Jessica albacore and it was so different but I really liked it. Lastly, I had their Tempura rolls, Ultimate salmon to be exact and it was excellent.
It was so hard to pick my favorite out of everything to be honest but I really enjoyed the appetizer, the baked rolls and the fresh rolls.

The owner came out and personally delivered two green teas to our car while we were waiting for takeout. He had the head chef make our order. I tipped generously because I could tell the quality was amazing and the service was amazing. I highly recommend this sushi joint and I am very, very snobby about my sushi five stars not enough. I’ll give them six.

We stayed near Six Flags overnight. We came to Tokai 3 times while we were here. Excellent rice, fresh and high quality sea food, traditional... So good... I dont give reviews often but had to foe this place. Pro tip: go for the happy hour/lunch specials for a great deal!

We go here with friends and for date nights. The sushi is very delicious and fresh tasting. The servers are very nice and come by a few times to check on the table. The restaurant is clean and so are the bathrooms. They do not offer AYCE so if you enjoy a couple rolls they cost about $12-$16 each.

We ve been regular customers here for the past few years, but today s experience was the final straw. We arrived with a party of six to find no line and multiple empty tables. However, the waiter informed us there would be a 25-minute wait before we could be seated. When I asked why, she explained that the kitchen was backed up with online orders. I then asked if we could at least be seated while we waited, but she said no. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was told there wasn t one available. Perhaps that explains why the situation was so poorly managed. I asked for a contact number, and shortly after, another waiter came over, saying we could be seated in five minutes but repeated the same excuse about online orders. This is not the level of service a loyal customer deserves. It s clearly a management issue, and unfortunately, we won t be returning.

Such a hidden gem in Santa Clarita! I definitely recommend checking out this spot for their sushi/omakase. I got to try a few of their items but my favorite was their omakase set. Every piece was so delicious and fresh. Also the presentation was amazing! I had a wonderful time eating here and the service was top-notch. I m rarely in the Santa Clarita area but I ll definitely come back the next time I m in the area!

Amazingly fast service (our rolls came out mere minutes after ordering), great selection of interesting rolls, 10 pieces per roll, AND no-rice rolls (so you dont fill up as quickly). This place was excellent and I highly recommend it :)

Food it tasty, but service is horrible. Arrived with a reservation, host told me to put my name on the waitlist. Let them know i was already on it. Got a seat after about 5 min. No one took orders. After putting in order, it was over 45 min till 1st food came out. Was completely amazed at the poor service. Cannot recommend unless you are in absolutely no rush. Real shame as the food is yummy. Parking: Shared parking with many places.

What an extremely bad experience, I didn t even get to tried how the food tasted. I got there and was waiting on a waitress to seat me and my friend, but no one did. People came in and this young lady decided to sit them first. After I spoke up about it, they finally did. We waited over 40 minutes to get our food and we didn t even got to eat. People who ordered after us got their food as soon as they ordered but our food never came. I asked our waitress is our food was coming soon? And she said yes, but it never did. I was very upset and when I told her to just charge us for our drinks, she said our food was coming but again it never did. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

Been going here frequently with my family, and really enjoy the food. Customer service is fine, but I couldnt help but notice that the managers demeanor isnt very kind to their employees, as well as doesnt do much in general.

Tokai Sushi staff and management are the most unprofessional. I called in to order food and I was placed on hold for 5 mins and then the server disconnected the call. I called back and he said yes , I disconnected the call because you are a black listed customer. This was word by word what he told me over the phone. He said I was black listed because someone called in an order by phone and used my number a year ago and order some food over the phone and never picked it up. When I walked in the store to speak with the manager as I felt insulted , the manager said we dont want your black business here. This store should be banded and closer immediately for their racism comments. We are in 2024 and someone still have issues with my color and tell their clients they are black listed. Business doesnt last for too long and never will grow their business with this discriminatory comments. I ask Santa Clarita residents to band this business for their unprofessional comments.

One of the best priced sushi spots! For the quality and selections it s so amazing. Can you believe lunch items like a large A5 Wagyu bowls or Uni Toro Ikura Bowls are under $23!! Loved the presentation and good service too. I recommend the A5 Wagyu Uni Caviar handroll and the lunch Sushi Omakase that comes with soup and crab handroll for only $25.

On my daughter birthday We went to have a lunch together, we ordered 6 fresh roll and two sashimi, 1st food came Okay but second and third was not we ordered, I didnt feel good about waitres mistakes, but it was my daughter birthday I just take the wrong order then we start to eat. Later they brought sushi come on they again brought wrong one again and again. After we dont feel good about wrong food service we have to send it back. It was really bad experience and service. We dont go there anymore. They need to hire and training with professional service and manners.

I went to eat at this place with my friends a week ago and I got the teriyaki chicken which turned out to be a disappointment. It was very dry and over cooked. However, I will echo what other people have said and say that the staff was very friendly. We had an employee by the name of Shawn I believe that was always checking on us and getting us water which was nice.

Come here for the sushi/sashimi omakase! It s a feast for both the eyes and stomach - the fish all taste really fresh and the cuts are generous. Not to mention the gorgeous plating as well! I also enjoyed the Tokai appetizer sampler - the Brussels sprouts were my favorite. We also had their blue crab hand roll which I loved - I feel that most places use imitation crab but they use the real thing. Service was also friendly, definitely a standout sushi restaurant in Santa Clarita!

I came here last Thursday with my family because I wanted to try out their sushi and sashimi omakase and wow it was amazing. Not only was the presentation of the food on point but the taste was also on point! The sushi and sashimi was so fresh and delicious. It was definitely top notch quality. My brother had the popcorn roll and baked mussels and I sneaked a bite and it also tasted so good. Not only was the food good but the service as well. Our waitress Lauren was very sweet and helpful. Overall I had a great time here.

We were out of town hanging at Magic Mountain. We found this place and seen it had great reviews. We got there and had to be put on a waiting list. While we were waiting there were so many pick up orders flying out of there. Which usually tells me that the seafood would be fresh delicious. When we finally got seated about 20 mins later I will tell you that it was defiantly worth the wait. The foods presentation was off the charts. Everything came out steaming and hot, or crisp and crunchy. The service was the best, the food was so good and the atmosphere was relaxing and busy at the same time. If your ever in town this sushi spot is a must try.

Overall, great staff and customer focused. They used to have a lot more food choices on the menu, but theyre gone (Kitchen food - like chicken katsu was my favorite there) the sushi and the portions are good. They also remodeled the place, but the decor is nice, simple and clean. I was hoping to sit in a booth (since I was brining my sleeping child in his carseat), but we made it work. I just wish there was a baby changing station in the bathroom.

Look I normally don t leave negative reviews but this needs to be public. I walked in on a Friday around 6:45pm and asked for a table for 1. It was rather busy and as a result I was told to wait about 5 mins. Less than 5 mins after, a couple walks in, asks for a table and is IMMEDIATELY seated. I looked back at the waitress who said it would be five minutes with a look of confusion and was told don t worry, I got you . Rather than embarrass myself by getting aggressive, I just walked out. I don t need to tell you what I look like as opposed to what the couple looked like in order for you and the rest of the reviewers here to understand why I m upset. I would like a response back from management and for her to explain to you and myself why I was skipped over in that fashion. *response to owner* While I appreciate the response, it doesn t properly address the issue while simultaneously making it seem as if what transpired was simply a result of me declining seating and being unreasonable. Why was the couple (2 people) sat BEFORE me? The other waitress was told by the I got you waitress to seat them, by the way. THAT is what prompted my bewildered look.

The menu has changed and many favorites are gone. The inside of the building was so cold it was to uncomfortable to enjoy. The establishment is NOT ADA compliant. No one assisted us with the doors coming in with. Wheelchair. There was no automatic door for wheelchair accessibility. The workers inside just stared at us coming in. Wheelchair accessibility: Non-compliant with ADA rules and guidelines.

The food here seems ok/mid/not too bad. I feel like when it comes to sushi I can be very picky because theres many good sushi spots around LA but this one isnt one of them for me. Dont get me wrong its not bad either but with my experiences at this location every time Ive gone it seems like mediocre service, mediocre food, mediocre atmosphere & experience. I know people that love it here & I recommend you try it out for yourself! You may love it here & you may have they same opinions as me but you wont know until you find out. Good luck!

The first time we went here it was phenomenal- best sushi I ve ever had. The next time, the sushi came completely covered in some oily sauce (which was not how it was pictured on the menu) - instantly took the quality down 90%. Like ordering an expensive steak and it coming to your table soaked in ketchup.

I go to a sushi spot every Sunday and this is one I would go back to. I love saba and don t see it on the menu often. Thankfully it lived up to expectations and it was absolutely delightful. I also ordered salmon belly and tamago which were excellent. The tamago sushi definitely looks made from scratch and not the kind you get prepackaged. The avocado roll had a generous amount of avocado and the miso soup was good. Service was great and the atmosphere was very nice. My only gripe was. The eel. Burnt, tough, dry. It had a weird texture and I wanted to spit it out but tried my best to be polite. So I just sat there making faces to get through it. I don t think I ll be eating eel any time soon! But everything else I ordered made up for that experience.

Staff was very nice, held the door for me while I got my daughter through the doorway in her wheelchair. The food was freshly made and very good. Prices were great, definitely worth the money. If you find yourself wanting sushi, go here. Do NOT waste your time and money going anywhere else. The sashimi was very good, nice thick cuts and the presentation was very pretty. Vegetarian options: There were several vegetarian options in the menu that liked to be very good. Parking: Lots of parking was available and the parking spaces were nice sized. Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly! Several families had small children, and the staff were amazing with them (knew to bring extra napkins, cheaters for the chopsticks, and so on). Wheelchair accessibility: The bathroom was very easy for my daughter to maneuver.

Unsanitary. The sushi chefs are behind the counter touching their facemasks and then touching the food, plates, knives without washing their hands. They might as well luck their fingers, then touch the food. Folks need to take the masks off if theyre not smart enough to avoid the cross contamination.

Seriously the best sushi I ve been able to find up here in the SCV!! Whether you re in the mood for sashimi, or fancy rolls they have it all. I ve found the quality to be great compared to a few others I ve tried up here my fav rolls: basic cut rolls spicy tuna, yellowtail & salmon / fresh rolls 911, Alaskan, Mexican / tempura rolls forever, hot night, tiger / baked roll dragon. This was a great find on our business trip. A little slow on the service but well worth the wait. We had sushi rolls, Ramen, and edamame and it was all very flavorful and came in large quantities. The restaurant was clean, staff friendly, and room for small or large parties. We went during lunch and it wasnt busy but an even flow of customers continually came through or picked up their orders while we were there. The bowls of Ramen were very large and the amount of noodles you get is well worth the price. The waitress was very attentive to our needs and filled our drinks without us asking. This is a must try if you are in the mood for sushi or Ramen. You will not be disappointed. Plenty of parking and there are stores in the shopping mall if you eat too much.

This place has the fastest service I have ever seen in a sushi restaurant. They dont just assign people tables they work the entire restaurant as a team. The sushi came quick too Im literally talking like 10-12 minutes. They also accommodated my Celiac disease with gluten free soy sauce and a knowledgeable sushi chef. I will definitely return here because the service was fantastic. I came around 6-7PM.

I went last night. My fresh water eel and salmon skin on my salmon skin salad was burnt and the tuna roll was dry. Drove all the way from California City and definitely won t be back.

This is a Japanese sushi restaurant operated by Koreans. The service is good and the sushi is okay. I like to come here during lunch. There are some happy hour specials in the afternoon. Plenty of tables and plenty of parking outside. Good value on the lunch and dinner items. I would come again.

Great food when it gets there. service not so much, I know they try. Just not understanding how the food shows up before the appetizer. Not all the food at the same time either. We ordered and it took forever to get seared tuna. After all this, yes I will come back. The food makes it worth it

Busy and waitress was nice , yet not attentive, meanwhile other servers came by to ask if we needed or received what we ordered. Our Grandsons order was not delivered when other items were. Seems like new owner is in there. I believe in giving 2nd chances. I will go back and explain to hope its a better experience.

In case anyone chooses to eat here and opts not to show proof of vaccine, they will only let you eat outside and will not give you paper menus as they do for the rest of those patronizing the restaurant. Can t speak to the quality of food. We left without ordering.

I have no complaints for those who serves the food, but the food service waiting is unacceptable we waited almost an -hour, yet our food is not completely in our table stating that the restaurant is not busy at all. every 20 minutes they would deliver one plate, not even an appetizer [calamari] didnt reach our table. Its just not a good place to eat here. I dont recommend this place, stay away from this restaurant if you are famished.

Quite good restaurant with good quality and large fish pieces in both sushi and sashimi forms, especially considering the remote location. I would have given 5 stars except the calamari appetizer was over cooked and thus was quite chewy. It is however more than 4, making it worthy of additional visits.

The restaurant is a medium size but still feels very homey. The gyoza and garlic edamame appetizers are very delicious. The fried crunch of the gyoza dipped in the ponzu is amazing. The base sauce of butter and soy for the edamame creates a smooth and saucy taste and texture. The salmon sushi was the best quality out of any sushi place in Santa Clarita. I am more of a rice fan so I got a couple of rolls. The double salmon just punches you in the face with salmon left and right. The Jessica alba provides an amazing contrast of texture with the crispy onions just piled on top. The crunch roll, while basic, is everything you want for a shrimp tempura roll. The sesame chicken is a mixture of perfectly sweet with a bit of heat. The green tea ice cream here is such a good deal for what you pay! That plus a bit of choco syrup and whip cream could fill any sweet tooth.

This has become one of my new favorite sushi restaurants. They have a creative menu with inventive rolls and traditional ones. The fish has been fresh everything Ive been and the service is stellar. Ive had issues with other sushi restaurants in town where food is great but service is lacking. Tokai is not that place, its a definite must try.

First time going and we were with the dinner rush. Service was great as was the food. The food was also great portion sizes. The boba came premade in a can and they didnt have big enough straws for the boba... Thats the only complaint.

The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. Food was delicious. Not that expensive. Oh and $1.99 draft beers if you are into that kind of thing. All you want in your local sushi place. Happy we went there tonight.
