Definitely overpriced for the quality and amount of food but i had heard so much about the place I decided to try it. They were really busy for brunch. I opted to dine in so I assume I was charged for service. When the food came, the waiter brought it to me in a plastic take out bowl and quickly said they are out of ceramic bowls and went away. The owner or manager was around and when I told him, he tried to repair the situation by offering me a free drink but I was ready to leave with my take out bowl. I spent $30 on some very mediocre food and bad service

Its a great place, great food, great drinks. Its amazing its as good as it is with such a sub par unorganized staff. Everything always takes way longer than it should, Im watching them kind of lazily figure things out. Not quick thinkers or fast movers. Kitchen crew is great however. Its a good option if you have a ton of patience and no place to be fast. Product is top notch however.

Sunny, vibrant, family friendly patio in a lovely area of Santa Monica. Service is fast and food is reliable although not always the best (the avocado toast doesn t use fresh avocados by the taste of it and they don t always ask you how you like your eggs - you get what you get). This place is both baby friendly (has high chairs) and pet friendly (they offer water bowls).

This used to be my favourite restaurant but the quality has gone downhill recently. I ordered a vegan burrito for delivery and not only it came disassembled, it was also completely soaked in oil. There s a mysterious blue spot on the wrap which I think is mold, and that raises concerns for food safety.

I recently ordered takeout at Bardonna and unfortunately, it was a disappointment from start to finish. Not only did the staff exhibit incompetence by failing to provide dressing for my $22 salad, but when I attempted to rectify the situation by calling, they were conveniently closed. The lack of basic customer service and attention to detail left a sour taste in my mouth, figuratively and literally. Save your money and dine elsewhere where they actually value their customers satisfaction.

Very pleased with my dining experience here, the food our server recommended was phenomenal. We didnt know where to start since their menu had so many options. their avacado toast and adult grilled cheese were my favorites, they have so much flavor and I love that this place has so many vegan friendly options. Their iced coffee is also my favorite coffee in the area that I started picking up my coffee from here in the mornings. Their cocktail options are also super unique. The staff is friendly and checks on you frequently to make sure youre content. Would 10/10recmend

I ordered a breakfast burrito today on 1/4/2023 and it came with a hair sticking out of it. We told the waitress and she did not even apologize or offer us anything for free. Very unprofessional! It s understandable that hairs get into foods every so often, but they could ve done more to prevent that like wearing a hair net. They also could ve offered us something for the inconvenience, even if it was as small as a free drink. Can t recommend this place to anyone

I discovered this place a while ago. --Tried and disliked the dry vegan doughnuts. Gave it another try several months ago, and liked the golden latte. Bowl was okay, though fish was lukewarm and smelled old. Returned with a friend who had a meal. Returned today for a coffee. Sat in the shade of an umbrella for 80 minutes, passing the time, before the owner, who I learned charges a service charge on every bill without disclosing it, and doesnt give the money to workers, moved the umbrella, exposing me to sun (I had enough today). When I wanted to move it back, he accused me loudly in front of other customers of sitting there for three hours, said he needed tables for other customers (many tables were empty), and said this isnt a park. While I like to support local businesses (and own one myself), I will not support a business owned by a dishonest, greedy and rude owner. Im taking my business elsewhere and hope you will too.

Based on two visits, their food is mostly good. The menu does not say that they charge a 10% service fee and there is no mention of it at the checkout either. On both of my visits I ve had to ask the waiters multiple times for the drinks I ordered. In addition on both visits the coffee has been missing extra-charged plant milk. The waiters seem to be a bit lost, when I asked about the orders, no one knows anything. There was also a piece of hair in the ordered waffle. The burrata they served tasted like blue cheese. Even though the burrata returned to the kitchen and the waiter came to ask about the new burrata (tasting also like blue cheese), no refund was offered.

This place is always popping for good reason. I always get a little sticker shock at the menu, but the quality can command the price. It s easy to get good breakfast food, but it s hard to get exceptional breakfast food. Good vegan options for those that desire, but similarly good options for those that love the meats. Never left disappointed or with buyers regret.

dined in for brunch. service is walk up and then they bring the items out to you. the menu was huge and took us forever to decide but when we finally did we ordered the breakfast burrito, french toast, poke bowl, and huevos rancheros. also ordered the wake n shake, although the shake was pretty good it wasn t worth $10.5 to me. breakfast burrito with kale pesto and chipotle aioli was 8.5/10. i love breakfast burritos and the filling ratio was pretty spot on. flavor was on point and sauces were amazing as well. french toast would rate at a 5.5/10. the bread/toast was pretty dry and kind of lacked flavor. the strawberry topping did help but it wasn t nearly as good as i hoped. poke bowl was rated 6.5/10. pickles were a yummy add in but it needed more poke. huevos rancheros were said to be some of the best mty friend had ever had and she rated the dish 8.5/10. she said the sliced peppers were an added yummy spice, therefore making it a good mix of spicy and refreshing sour from the sauce. definitely recommend and will return.

Very enjoyable cafe in the heart of Santa Monica. Was expecting this to be a sit-down style restaurant but was an order, pay, then sit instead. Seating was 100% outside. Got a little hot for August, hoped outdoor would be available. Chicken Pesto in Ciabatta was spot on. Mocha Latte and Chai Latte were very good and high quality. Price seemed disproportionate. $63 with tip for two sandwiches and coffee/drinks seems way too steep. Would be more inclined to come here for just a coffee and spend that amount somewhere with proper seating and dining experience. Take nothing away from the establishment. Come here and you will have a great experience.

The people working here on Tuesday @ 11AM arent too bright. I ordered food and drinks here via Uber and they would only give the Uber driver the drinks and said someone already got the food which makes no sense. That means they gave just the food to someone else and didnt own up to giving the food to the wrong person and only gave my Uber driver the drinks. I re-ordered the food, paying again, and found out instead of my berry 24Oz soda, I got a 12Oz lemon ginger drink. So four item order, they got one drink right, one wrong, two missing food items. Thank you Tesseract C which is the name of my server on this receipt. Also once second order for food actually arrived, my spinach wrap isnt a spinach wrap. They pretty much decided to absolutely do the worst they could at their job, twice.

We stopped a few food runners for help but we didn t get the service we needed until Geo stopped by and asked. I got my food shortly thereafter and the missing ingredients in my friends bowl were brought to the table. Geo was so attentive and helpful. We love this place and understand that sometimes there are mistakes in service so we weren t too bothered. But Geo went out of the way to make our experience 10x better! Geo s the man.

Had probably the worst grilled cheese Ive ever had in my life. Cant stress enough how bad this grilled cheese was. The tables were too small. Pigs on the fly came without bacon and had unmelted cheese. Dont order food if you go here Edit because the owner responded: No! The owner is flat out lying, which says even more about the quality of the establishment than the garbage food does. I did not come with a woman, nor did any of the fairy tail bull**** that the owner responded with happen. The owner is clearly lying in the reviews to keep the restaurant afloat instead of fixing the terrible food which made my leave this review. This restaurant is the epitome of what is wrong with trendy LA restaurants. I dont recommend eating here.

Living near by, its hard to not go here multiple times. Over the last several months its gotten progressively worst. Today was what broke the camels back where you order to items, and one looked like a five-year old played with their food for a hole hour and tossed it in a bowl (but missed half of the bowl). The second item wasnt even what was described, drowned in some dressing that left everything soggy and moderately warm while the rest of everything was cold. Horrible. Would not recommend.

If you know this part of Montana Ave in Santa Monica, you know that this space has held several iterations of Coffee+food for a decade or more now. Bardonna is the latest version, but unlike its predecessors, they focus way more on the food than the coffee and the results are very good! Its a fast-casual concept, so you order and pay at the counter and the food/drinks are brought out to you. Most of the seating is outside and about half the tables have shade so if its warm and/or you dont like the sun, be warned or wait for one of the few inside tables. On the plus side, there are a bunch of neighborhood dogs in attendance, so if you sit outside youll make some new friends. The food is basically all breakfast/brunch items, from egg-based plates to sandwiches/burritos/wraps to French toast to lox/bagels and from what weve sampled so far, execution in the kitchen is spot-on. Ingredients are fresh, sometimes surprising and, this being Santa Monica, you can get gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan items. Coffee is good here, too. Worth the visit!

For a restaurant that is not a sit down and full service, Bardonna rocks. You approach the counter, place your order, pay and then find a table. There are plenty of outside tables with shade covering, but there are also a lot of tables without shade coverings. On the day we went for Sunday brunch it was a summer like warm day. I was very fortunate to find a shaded table. I am not sure if they allow any inside seating at this time. I ordered the Fried Egg Sandwhich which was perfect. Two perfectly fried eggs on top of arugula, bacon jam and avocado. I wanted to try their kombucha on tap, but they didnt have it, so I bought a refreshing peach ginger juice. The staff is friendly and personable. I would definitely come back again. Free parking on the street north of MonThe only stress is finding a nice table outside that has some shade. Not a bad thing. Just bring a hat!

OK SO. Lets start off with location: You will have to look for parking on the street so take that as you wish. The place has a couple of tables outside where one can choose to sit. The wait time was not long for us. Service: Everyone was nice and patient, it being our first time. You order like at any other cafe and they actually bring the food to you. Food: The food itself was great. I mean, the plants and veggies, eggs, all fresh and nicely cut. The drinks are great as well. Defintely 5of 5. Price? This is where it gets me because about $20 for a chicken bowl?lol naw.I mean, to be fair it is in the side of town where everything seems a little pricey. Would i return? Yes, I would, the drinks are prob myfavorite part. However, not somewhere I am totally running to return to . Make sense? Defintely check them out for yourself. The food is great. and they allow pets. One of our favorite neighborhood, casual brunch spots. Food is delicious, staff is very friendly. Great outdoor seating right on Montan Ave. All of our friends that are local love this spot.

The best breakfast/cafe in the area. Terrific staff. Positive vibe. Great menu and beautiful presentation of their food. Many vegan items as well. Creatively decorated. Good spot in the village.

Customer service was good. The lluevo ranchero in a bowl was not fulfilling. Presentation was beautiful but eating it was not practical. The egg was fresh, the dice tomato was fresh but not plentiful, avocado was fresh but only had 2 dice, red pepper was fresh and cheese was fresh. The black beans took over the bowl, they were from a can and they were dry and pasty. And last but not least, the tostada (fried tortilla) was from a store bought bag and it was stale. Eating the meal was a struggle. I didnt finish the beans and tostada, its only making me dehydrated. Americano cafe was good. I left still hungry. Again this is for the lluevo ranchero meal.

The food and coffee was good, but the service was one of the most terrible one I had ever experienced. After waiting for around 1.5 hours and receiving just half of the order, I was told that they are out of stock !!!! And in response to my question why they didnt tell us earlier while I was asking several times, very rudely replied without any apology. And in reply to where was your manager, I was told that there was no manager.

Impressively overpriced given the quality of food and drink.... but it s a nice looking place in a good location. And it hits all the hipster highlights with Rose croissants and vegan donuts etc etc.

$5 for 8 oz coffee? Really? Nitro cold brew is not nitro, just a weak brew of coffee. I never thought Id prefer Starbucks to anything, but its definitely better than this place. Avocado toast and one poached = $17? Toast was croutons and less than a quarter of an avocado.
