I recently tried this place on postmates. The bagel was a bit pricey but good in my opinion. Where things went wrong was the drink. My standard small iced matcha latte was in clumps at the bottom when it arrived. Not settled, but balled clumps as if it had never been sifted in the first place. On further inspection it also seems the drink was fully mixed with water instead of a milk which made for an even worse texture/flavor. I don t think I ll return here but food was good and coffee might be better!

Im an OG dog town girl and I just moved back to the area and couldnt wait to go. I LOVE the little slider breakfast sandwiches they have SOOOO much . You think you need two because they are small but one fills you up! I wish they would bring back the one with the pesto and tomato on it ! I use to order it back in 2018 when I lived down the block !

Over priced for the 7 Eleven quality and also very shameful people. Putting our flag down because they feel sad about their election candidate lost? Putting politics into coffee, such a bad vibe. Never coming here again.

The staff at this place has a problem. A lovely woman behind the counter wouldn t even make eye contact with me when I politely asked her where the bathroom was AFTER I BOUGHT $40 worth of food and drinks and tipped. It was 2 minutes after they had technically closed so she said extremely rudely that s why we do last call!!! Of course, when you re outside on the patio, you don t hear anyone announce last call. There is no loud speaker, no one gave us an announcement. It should be illegal to not let your customers use the bathroom after eating, like for real. The fact that we had a toddler and a newborn didn t seem to phase her at all. Lots of other weird unpleasantness like giant dogs owned by the staff running around without leashes, and staff slamming and stacking things so aggressively I thought they were doing some kind of a joke . But they were actually just extremely aggro. Don t bring kids here, in fact don t come at all. Whoever manages this place needs to realize they have a culture problem. The nitro cold brew was fine, food was meh.

Loved this place! It was a short walk from our hotel so decided to give it a go. We went on a Saturday morning at 9am and it was quite busy but I always think that s a good sign! We waited around 15-20 minutes for the food but it was well worth it. The Açai bowl was delicious and we also grabbed some croissants and fresh lemonade. The outside seating was perfect, a mixture of shade and sun. And if you didn t get it by the name, it s dog friendly so had a great vibe!

$16 for the worst breakfast burrito Ive had in my life. Chewy steak and described as having tater tots that turned out to be soggy packaged looking hash browns. My Havana latte wasnt terrible but not good either. Friends vietnamese coffee had the souls of all my ancestors rolling in their collective graves, tasted like gas station coffee at 1am. One of our kids asked for his drink to be adjusted to be sweeter, but a worker slammed it back on the counter and told him to go back in line to re-order it. He was being a rude to every other customers as well.

After a week of restaurants and cafes where you have to check in with a host and go through all sorts of rigmarole, a pleasure to see a cute little cafe where you line up at the counter, order, collect and find a seat for yourself. Dogtown Coffee, located in the heart of Santa Monica, is a standout spot for coffee lovers and those seeking a laid-back, beachy vibe. This local gem perfectly captures the essence of Southern California, blending quality coffee, a welcoming atmosphere, and a touch of surf culture. The moment you step into Dogtown Coffee, youre greeted by the warm, inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the friendly staff who seem genuinely passionate about what they do. The interior is cozy and casual, with surf-inspired decor that pays homage to the areas rich history as the birthplace of modern skateboarding and surfing. The vibe is relaxed, making it a great place to unwind, catch up with friends, or even get some work done. When it comes to the coffee, Dogtown Coffee delivers. Their selection of brews is impressive, with a focus on quality beans and expert preparation. Whether you prefer a classic espresso, a frothy latte, or something more adventurous like a cold brew with a twist, youre sure to find something that suits your taste. Their signature drinks, like the Salty Dog Caramel, offer a unique spin on the usual coffeehouse fare and are definitely worth trying. The food at Dogtown Coffee is just as noteworthy. The menu features a variety of breakfast and lunch options, ranging from hearty breakfast burritos to fresh salads and sandwiches. The emphasis is on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and you can taste the difference. The avocado toast, for instance, is a standout simple but delicious, with ripe avocado, perfectly seasoned, and served on thick, crusty bread. One of the highlights of Dogtown Coffee is its location. Just a short walk from the beach, it s the perfect pit stop before or after a day by the ocean. The outdoor seating area is a great spot to enjoy your coffee while soaking up the sun and people-watching in this vibrant part of town. Overall, Dogtown Coffee is more than just a place to grab a cup of joe its a community hub that embodies the spirit of Santa Monica. Whether youre a local or just passing through, its a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good coffee, good food, and good vibes. Highly recommended!

DTC broke my heart today. We went yesterday it had such a great experience that it made todays that much worse. Yesterday, for coffees we had the Gringo and the cafe au lait. Amazing, good quality coffee. For food we had the classic burrito and the chocolate croissant, both were excellent. Staff was so welcoming and friendly. Due to this great experience, we decided to return today. It was busier and none of the staff from yesterday seemed to be working today. We ordered a cafe au lait, latte, classic burrito, Main Street slider and a chocolate chip cookie. We didnt wait long and all food came out at the same time. The slider was so dry, it was almost inedible. The bun was so dense and dry it was hard to swallow. I am not a sauce person but I went in and asked for some extra sauce, instead of sending it back. I was told that they charge for extra sauce which is perfectly acceptable and common. What was not acceptable was that I was expecteded to go wait in the long line again to purchase the sauce. Seriously?! So my choice was dry food or cold food. When I mentioned that the girl told me go talk to them at the front, I am not dealing with this today. The stark contrast from the welcoming staff the day before and the staff today who dont even hide the fact that they dont care about the customers and dont want to serve them was shocking. I am so very disappointed. The coffee is great but I cannot support a company that allow such treatment of customers.

I will NOT be coming back to this place. I am not sure what happened to the customer is always right , but this is clearly not their policy. I paid for a very expensive coffee drink and tipped them 20% which took 10-20 minutes to make when no body was there. My drink was made with dairy which I am allergic too and they wanted to charge me another 50% for a drink that I already paid for!! They were very rude when I nicely asked if they could accommodate the mistake without charge. For what they charge and the service provided, there are many other coffee places around the area that could do better. I used to come in here all the time, but today the management and workers were a disappointment.

I visit this café about once a week because I drive my friend to physical therapy right across the street where I wait for an hour. Today I stopped by and asked if I could use the restroom. I was told that only the customers could do so. I replied explaining that I am a regular, and I just needed the restroom for a quick second. Again I was denied. Although I understand why businesses, especially in this area, reserve the right to provide service or a restaurant because of the homeless situation I still find it petty that a regular customer is asked to buy something just to use your facilities every single time. Even though the atmosphere is nice this place is also grossly overpriced. I for one will not be returning.

Coffee was Madewell and the coffee mugs they have for sale at seven years were really unique and I couldn t help but buy one. Looks a little bit like a boarded up place from the outside but definitely worth making sure you don t pass it by.

Fun vibe, loved the patio space to enjoy our breakfast. Ordered a couple of breakfast burritos and a breakfast sandwich on GF bagel. The food was great. Was not expecting the egg to be hard scrambled with little bits of meat in it, but it worked fine. Coffee was delicious. Would definitely come back when visiting Santa Monica.

I went here this past weekend and planned on going to a new restaurant each morning for my trip. We loved it so much that ended up going here for breakfast and coffee all 3 mornings we were in Santa Monica. The coffee is the best coffee I ve ever had and I am a huge Sbux drinker. Great coffee, food, entertainment on and employees are fast and friendly. They are also dog friendly and we brought our dog all 3 mornings as well.

The steak and egg breakfast burrito is AMAZING!! Great coffee too! The view and the short distance to sand and sea make this one of the best spots Ever. Anywhere. Forever.

Good coffee. Pastries are from sugarbloom so its quite good. I guess this is a coffee shop version of what a dive bar is. Eclectic design. Outdoor only seating in front and on the side of the coffee shop. Street parking. Food : 4/5 | Service

Coffee is good, but bread, pie, etc average or below. Service is kind of lacking

The staff are friendly but you are very likely to get the wrong food here. Something about their bagging process leads to this happening a lot. The food is delicious but they are one of those places that charges the same amount for tempeh and they do for actual meat. Lots of restaurants charge tofu like meat, when it s obviously way cheaper.

I used an extension cable in there patio area to plug my laptop in for an hour and was verbally abused by their security because apparently that was not acceptable. Great food and coffee otherwise but I won t return after that attitude to a customer. Management need to talk to security around working in hospitality and how to speak to customers.
