The place has a very nice setting with a garden sitting on a large lawn. We got a morning bun around 2 pm, and it was hard like a shoe. So we replaced it with a fluffy croissant. The coffee is good but not perfect. Very busy and trendy

I live right across from Tartine Santa Monica, and early this morning (3:20 AM to be exact), they decided it was a great time to use a gas power washer to clean their concrete. I had to call the cops (non emergency line obviously) because it was ridiculously loud and disruptive. The Santa Monica Police Department came quickly (props to them for the 15-minute response time), and it seemed like they told them to shut it down, but the cops didn t even fine them! This isn t a one-off situation either Tartine frequently has landscapers come by at 5:45-6:00 AM on Mondays, waking up me up and my neighbors with their illegal gas leaf blowers and their legal but loud AF gas lawn mowers. I just don t understand why they can t do this work after they close at 4 PM. It s so inconsiderate to everyone living nearby; we re just trying to sleep peacefully. (Also, Santa Monica s quiet hours end at 8 AM, not the Los Angeles city time of 7 AM.) I even emailed Tartine about their landscaping practices, and surprise surprise no response. It just feels like they don t care about being a good neighbor. So maybe trying to shame them on social media will help?

Beautiful cafe/bakery with delicious food. The whole experience was lovely. I had the smoked salmon toast, a pain au chocolat (Valrhona!) and a chai tea latte. The chai was the best I had in a long time. The rest was also amazing. The only point that could be improved would be the knives sharpess. The pickled carrot was as good as it was difficult to cut it. More then once I expected to land on the table of my neighbours.

I recently visited Tartine and the experience was absolutely delightful. Everything we tried was delicious, but the croissants were particularly outstanding perfectly flaky on the outside with a buttery, soft interior that practically melts in your mouth. The outdoor vineyard seating added a special charm to the meal, making it a serene and picturesque spot to enjoy breakfast. Whether you re there for a quiet solo morning or a relaxed gathering with friends, the ambiance at Tartine truly enhances the experience. Highly recommend if you re in the area!

It used to be In-N-Out Burger. I would never visit California without at least one visit to In-N-Out Burger. As of today, that honor goes to Tartine. We re in from Miami, visiting friends who just moved back to California after living in Miami for 30+ years. We have spectacular bakery options in Miami (looking at you, Madruga Bakery, and Zack The Baker). Our friends asked us to meet them at Tartine in Santa Monica for breakfast on our first morning. Free street parking was plentiful and there is a large parking lot for a fee. The building is beautiful, clearly a repurposed church. On arrival, there was a line out the door, but it moved quickly and we needed that time to review the menu. When you step inside, you see the incredible assortment of baked goods and you feel the energy of excitement. We placed our order and took the drinks and ready-to-go items to our table, along with a number sign. Our cooked foods were brought to the table quite soon thereafter. I could start with the food presentation just as easily as I could start with the taste. By all measures, the food was exceptional. We had and shared the Smoked Salmon Tartine, Avocado Tartine, Farmers Bowl, Plain Croissant and Almond Croissant. The tartines were artfully plated and were memorably delicious. The bread used for them appears to be a sesame-crusted sourdough and was as good as any bread I ve had in taste, texture, temperature and eye-appeal. I also had a cup of filter coffee and it was bold, rich and just what I want in a cup of coffee. After my first cup, I brought it back for a refill and Raul was as welcoming and hospitable in refilling it as the rest of the team was when we first placed our order. For all of these reasons, Tartine is now forever on my Must-Visit-in-California list. << Standing Ovation! >> Vegetarian options: Many vegan options, and many vegan-possible options. Dietary restrictions: Allergens and ingredients are clearly posted. Parking: Free street parking on Sunday. Not sure about other times.

Absolutely rude staff. Ordered a croissant, while I started eating a waiter came to tell me I couldn t read on my laptop while eating my croissant because it was the weekend (?) absolutely incoherent. Didn t really get what he meant so just kept eating my croissant. Five mins after an even ruder guy came to tell us it was a serving establishment and he needed the table so they couldn t have us reading on our laptop. Mind u, we were there for 10 minutes, eating croissants, not like a long study session or whatever. And there were a myriad of free tables at the time. This is not Chateau Marmot, it s a cafe, chill a little. And if you are gonna charge plus 7 USD for a croissant (in italy I usually get a better one for one euro), at least let me eat it in peace ? Sorry I don t fit the unemployed LA vibe for reading my laptop while eating my croissant. Next time try giving a disclaimer before, or get new staff idk.

This location is really nice because its situated in a green and sunny spot. The food is not amazing, and the bread is a bit chewy and hard, not seeming fresh at all. However, the pastries are good and taste great. The restroom is very bad and is an all gender restroom, so be very cautious and careful when using it. Apparently, they dont care if its safe or not. Both girls and guys can use the same bathroom as if its all okay. Definitely supervise your kids if youre going to bring them here. Otherwise, the food is good, especially in this location where the area is all green and sunny. That s why they get 2 stars; otherwise, it would have been 1 star.

Title: Disappointing Experience at Tartine Bakery in Santa Monica My experience at Tartine Bakery in Santa Monica left me extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. Despite eagerly anticipating trying their offerings, the visit turned out to be a frustrating ordeal. The day started with my wife being at St. John hospital for pregnancy complications. After a challenging day, we decided to order lunch from Tartine via Doordash. Upon arriving and showing my order to the counter staff, I encountered an agitated and emotionally charged response from the lady at the counter. She spoke sternly, gestured rudely, and instructed me to wait. As I watched her search for my order, it became apparent that the sandwich my wife had ordered was missing from the bag. Checking Doordash, I noticed we had been refunded, but no one from the staff informed me that the item was unavailable. This lack of communication meant I left empty-handed without the chance to replace the missing item. The most frustrating aspect was the indifferent attitude of the staff, failing to acknowledge the inconvenience caused. This experience not only marred our meal but also left a lasting negative impression. Regrettably, I cannot recommend Tartine Bakery to anyone, as such disregard for customer experience is unacceptable.

Tartine in Santa Monica is a bustling haven for pastry enthusiasts and coffee aficionados alike. Nestled in the heart of the city, the bakery exudes a lively atmosphere with its constant hustle and bustle. As you step in, the aroma of freshly baked breads and pastries envelops you, creating an irresistible allure. The assortment of breads and pastries on display is a visual feast. While we unfortunately missed the coveted country bread loaves that tend to vanish by 10 lam, the porridge loaf we opted for proved to be a delightful alternative. Each item on offer boasts a meticulous craftsmanship, evident in the intricate layers and golden crusts that promise a delectable experience. The coffee selection complements the bakerys offerings perfectly. Whether you prefer a bold espresso or a velvety latte, Tartine ensures that each cup exudes the artistry of coffee-making. The rich, aromatic blends serve as a perfect accompaniment to the array of pastries, elevating the overall experience. In conclusion, Tartine in Santa Monica stands out not only for its mouthwatering pastries and artisanal breads but also for the vibrant atmosphere it cultivates. While missing out on the famed country bread was a slight disappointment, the quality and variety of the available offerings, coupled with the energetic ambiance and attentive staff, make Tartine a must-visit for anyone seeking a sensory delight in the heart of Santa Monica.

My favorite brunch spot in LA. Pastries are always a 10/10 and they have the best bread I ve ever tried. I highly recommend their avocado toast with a hard boiled egg. My favorite brunch ever. Smoked salmon tartine is also amazing! Vegetarian options: Great for vegetarians! Dietary restrictions: Lots of options! Parking: Never an issue because of the lot Kid-friendliness: Great for families Wheelchair accessibility: Have a ramp

We went there as a family the other day for brunch since we pass by this place a lot and we ve always wanted to try it. The food was average and expensive, and the coffee wasn t great. Also, not many options for kids. Perhaps their pastries are better (they look good but we didn t try them). The patio and the atmosphere is really nice though. Just know what to expect

It was an amazing experience Delicious food, wonderful bread and fantastic coffee! I highly recommend trying their bread and seasonal jam and also lavender cappuccino (something like that! LoL ) Just one thing I didn t like was that if you wanted to add something like coffee or tea to your order, you had to get back in line; it wasn t possible to ask the waiter to add even a coffee to your order. I understand that this is their policy, but I would prefer having that option as well

Definitely not the typical coffee chain or trendy bakery. Great setting in an old church, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Nice selection of pasteries and breads, coffee and tea drinks, and small plate selections. Even though a small chain, great quality of food, coffee, and service.

Love the food here! The best croissant I ve ever had, so fluffy and crispy on the outside. Tartines are prepared to perfection, bread is sliced right and it s easy to bite! Overall a great experience!!

Love the ambience of this place from when you enter and place your order to even eating outside this old church just has vintage feel. Note that there s a 4% surcharge that is added to all food and beverages Ricotta, toast was awesome just wasn t a fan of the granola at the top it is rockhard and hard to bite through Their egg sandwich was awesome just didn t feel it was worth $13 for such a small sandwich which consisted mostly bread We had their croissants, which are awesome, fresh flaky, but felt like it was something missing I just have an affinity towards Chaumont bakery over this spot. There s free valet parking in the front or you can find street parking around the perimeter . Vegetarian options: Vegetarian section if you re interested in greens Parking: Valets in the front and is free for a certain amount of time Kid-friendliness: Really kid friendly especially the outdoor area

$25 before tip for an espresso + a blah sandwich. No wifi, little parking. Beautiful atmosphere but counter service not exactly warm.

Outstanding brunch worth the high prices. The food quality is top notch. As a German this is one of the few good bread refuges you get in the city. I just had the warm bread with butter and jam. Bread was amazing, butter of top quality and the jam absolutely delicious. The morning bun was a great dessert, although a tad too hard. My friend let me try his smoked salmon toast and it was top notch with all ingredients working together very well. Atmosphere is great as well, especially when the light is shining through the old church windows around noon. Yes it is pricey - my German family would faint to hear I paid ~$10 for some bread with butter and jam. Yet, the quality, location and atmosphere make it a good value for money. Definitely recommend. Parking: PS: Wouldnt do the valet, theres plenty of parking one block over or on Wilshere.

Food is amazing. Service is horrible. Constantly mess up to go orders and take the fact that they are busy out on the customer. Never coming back in spite of how good the food is. Pretentious places like this is why dinning in LA has become a nightmare.

The location is a real gem! You suddenly feel in the south of France enjoying delicious coffee and croissants . If I had to describe it in two words I d say comforting and charming ( quiet perfect for a date actually).
