The Hive Superfood Eats & Organic Cafe - Santa Monica

I’ve been here a couple of times now. Whenever I visit Santa Monica. I love this place. I love the options for healthy eating. I’ve just about tried everything now on the menu lol. They have some great Gluten Free and vegan options as well as baked goods. The smoothie bowls are nice and big quite filling. The breakfast is all day and they have some good food on there. They also have a cute little shop on the side wall. With snacks and merch. Definitely a nice place to come to and get some work done or just have a nice little break. It’s also not that far from the pier. Only a 8 minute walk.

I am on a journey to better health. Vegan food is a mistery to me. At first I was afraid to try this vegan burrito 🌯. I have to say it is very delicious 🤤 and the salsa is the perfect combo. Burrito was not oily as some vegan called food is. A definitely must try if you want to have a very healthy and tasty 😋 meal. It is so wholesome I was only able to eat half. More for later though 😋

I got a BYO warm bowl doordashed! I had quinoa, cilantro, sweet corn, cucumber, tomatoes, pulled chicken, salmon, hemp seeds, and the cilantro lime vinaigrette on the side. The portion size was good for a light healthy lunch —‘if you’re not looking for something heavy or eating lunch a couple hours before a workout, the BYO bowl is a good option here. I liked how the vinaigrette portion wasn’t overwhelming either, dressing and sauces and seem to be overdone usually at restaurants so it’s good to see the hive is actually intentional and health conscious with this. The utensils are also earth friendly. Overall the bowl was good; the only thing is the salmon add on was a bit expensive for the size of it. But would recommend the hive for a healthy light lunch!!!

I ordered a smoked salmon omelet with mushroom carnitas on the side and a Green Hornet smoothie. This breakfast cost me $30 and was terrible. The omelet was rubbery, extremely dry, and there was barely any salmon in it. The mushrooms were way too salty and also dry. It tasted like everything was made days ago. The smoothie was ok but I had to force it down. Definitely not something I would have again. I probably wouldnt have left this review if the service was the least bit friendly. There was no one at the counter when I walked in but when a guy did appear, he didnt greet me or crack a smile. He just said Order to pick up?, then Name? Handed me the order without thanking me. I cant see this place lasting long, unless my experience was a one off.

Used to come here for years until I discovered their lack of cleanliness/cross contamination problems. Avocado toast tasted like a mix of rotting fish and hand sanitizer. The cafe also had a crazy smell today. Never coming back unfortunately:/ rip

Great place to go hangout for brunch - lunch time, order some nice healthy food maybe a lil dessert snack and chill The environment is really trendy and comfortable easy to stay for 1-2 hour especially if you have some time for scrolling or light laptop work. Food tasted great, portions were a lil small and I really enjoyed the whoopie dessert. Consider the build your own bowl its easy to make a delicious mix just wish the portions were alil bigger again but overall its a great spot. Vegetarian options: Great vegan options, just look for the V logo next too all the menu items

I dont normally leave reviews for places but this was the most tasteless acai bowl I ve ever had. I don t know if they used too much ice, or just low quality acai, but it truly didn t taste like anything. I also had several ice chunks in my bowl, and couple pieces of mango even though I didn t order mango. This wouldn t be a big deal except that the mango was weirdly tough, and when I accidentally bit into chunks of it I had to spit it out. I would expect a lot better from a $14 dollar acai bowl. Maybe their other stuff is better, but the acai is not it.

The açaí bowl isn t great. It s not very sweet and they do not use enough acai. I asked for extra coconut nectar and they gave it to me which helped sweeten the bowl up/ add flavor.

Very fresh food and they were very attentive to allergies. I chose fresh catch salmon wrap, and it was AMAZING! Bees Knees shake was great! Matcha Mint shake had a little too much spinach, but was still really good! Very friendly staff! Nice atmosphere right by the beach! Definitely a place for health conscious. Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: Staff was very attentive to allergies. We had a member of our group with a food allergy, and they were very careful to prepare everything without any cross contamination.

This was my first experience at The Hive and I tried the Shroom Bowl. I wasn t impressed and wouldn t recommend it to anyone. Nothing felt fresh to me. It tasted like I was eating reheated food. My man lovely place but the salad was super lackluster. I got the mushroom carnitas salad. Ay ay ay that was plain sauteed mushrooms with no taste. Please guys grab meaty shitakee and properly do it. Not inspired to go back maybe yes for the juices and acai. Nice customer service

Okay this is place is incredible! What a pleasant surprise... I stopped by without doing much research and grabbed a classic Acai bowl and a regular avocado toast. The avocado toast is one of the BEST I have ever had, ever, anywhere. The price was also great, and atmosphere was comfortable. Service was friendly, facilities clean, food--superb. My only gripe is that there were a few people pulling shots and although they seemed like they knew what they were doing, my latte had pretty burned milk. Way over-steamed for oatmilk. Thats one area for improvement, but otherwise I will be back because the food was on point.

Went here to get a quick and relaxed breakfast. Got the Dragonfruit-Bowl and a Coffee. The Bowl was great and the price was OK. The coffee was also OK, combined with friendly staff. I cannot speak for the rest of the menu, but if you are looking for a breakfast bowl, this is a nice place to visit.

This place was exceptional. The food was healthy, tasty and nutritious. The coffees were mare with their house-made almond mylk and the breakfast was to die for. We had the breakfast burrito and added mushrooms as well as the avo toast and added a poached egg. Everything was amazing. Highly recommend this spot. Not pretentious or overpriced like some of their neighbors

If you are on the rather healthy side when it comes to breakfast, this might be a good recommendation for you. The hive offers some pretty decent (superfood) açaí bowls and great smoothies and teas. The yoghurt parfait was okay-ish, could have more topping.

I have accidentally discovered this place on doordash when seeking a healthy meal at a reasonable price, and I m beyond happy I tried it. I haven t looked back since and have been getting it very frequently, almost a daily routine now. I personally really liked the fresh-catch bowl, I have gotten that many times and not once was there any ingredient in it that wasn t fresh. Not only that but I never thought something so healthy can taste that good!! Their açaí bowls and chicken Athena bowl are also a must-try. Do yourself a favor and give this place a chance, I don t leave reviews often but I felt like I had to for this place. Also a thank you to the caring staff for always making the bowls look visually pleasing rather than just throwing everything in as many other places do when making salads.

I had the chance to visit the hive in March and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The staff were friendly, the service was pretty quick, and I don t remember having to pay a lot of money which is always a plus. If I m ever back in Santa Monica I do plan on making a visit back here.

I believe the Hive is known for its bowls, but this review is based on their avocado toast. I was a bit underwhelmed by the size of the toast - it was quite a bit smaller than I expected. However it did taste great, especially with the added poached egg on top. The bowls looked great, which I would have to try the next time I come. The jasmine green tea tasted a but watered down unfortunately. Overall, the prices were pretty high ($14 for the avocado toast with egg, $5 for a small tea).

Got the immunity bone broth and the classic acia bowl and they both did not disappoint. Feeling drained from the week we needed a clean pick me up. The bone broth was an instant soul and body soother. It truly rejuvenated me. The acia bowl was prepared very well and good clean taste.

After having a pretty early breakfast and chilling on the beach I wanted a hot beverage. I really was craving a coffee but I m not drinking it at the moment so I searched for places serving Turmeric lattes and the Hive was the first option. Checked out the menu online and sure enough they had a turmeric drink called the Golden Latte. The drink includes turmeric, cinnamon, honey, almond milk, and pepper for $4.95. In addition to teas and coffees you can purchase some healthy bites at reasonable prices and dine in our out, they also accept to go orders. It s a really cute café and I love the outside seating area, perfect for people watching. The service was pretty good! There was a little mix up with my order, I ordered a Golden Latte but was given a Pumpkin Spice Latte, the two drinks don t sound alike but I m sure the person had trouble hearing me through my mask. Any way no hassle at all, the correct order was made and I was offered the pumpkin latte also but I passed since I m not drinking coffee and was dining solo. Unfortunately I wasn t a fan of the latte; so far no luck finding a decent turmeric latte in the L.A. area. It wasn t flavorful and had a strange taste. I hate wasting money so I finished as much as I could while sitting outside enjoying the perfect fall weather.

There were maybe two customers in the shop, yet the two smoothies I ordered to-go took a long 15min to make m. I also found a plastic shard (see photo) near the bottom of my drink and almost choked on it. The smoothies itself tasted meh wasn t worth $11-13 price tag in my opinion. A really great spot to do work! Very cozy place and we got a free shot with our purchase which made it super worth it - I got a chai latte too which tasted super good and the place had very good seating and homey ambiance. The broth here was super super unique - I ve never been to a place that gives broth in cups.

While waiting for my order I wandered around this cute cafe and explored it a bit. It s so cute and fun! It has these amazing mural drawings. Super amazing! I snapped a few selfies for the gram. Instagram worthy place They also have a outside private patio. I think the best part is the food! Yumz!!! I went a little crazy because I heard so many great things about the hive so I ordered a few things off the menu! Everything was super delicious I even took takeout lol my experience was refreshing. I really enjoy everything! Great customer service and clean. I will be returning! I m bringing my friends for brunch! The menu has many options! They will love it! plant-based friendly & healthy options Definitely making this my brunch spot. Thank you so much for everything! Happy customer 10/10 recommend

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Hive! Its as if the chefs/creators of the Hive designed the menu & experience just for us (fiance` & i). We had the best breakfast EVER and will definitely be back again. Perfectly laid back yet with high quality, elegance for todays culture. Weither vegan, vegetarian,, or omnivorous ~ everyone is sure to love the Hive. This is *our* new spot. <3 <3 <3

Acai bowl and dragon fruit bowl were tasteless, they were extremely watered down, it seems. The bee pollen thing was also weird and sandy, and together with the watery flavour of the bowl left the impression that we were eating puddle water or something.

Great place! They have an easy, clean, and healthy menu that is reasonably priced. Staff is always friendly, quick, and on top of getting food to you even when youre sitting outside which is nice.

The Hive had excellent service; the staff was so friendly! We sat on the patio and they brought the food out to us. I enjoyed the experience, let alone the delicious food! I grabbed the Bees Knees smoothie and a shroom wrap. Both were excellent! I did feel like the shroom wrap was a bit light on the shrooms, but it made up for it with other goods. Ill also recommend bringing your own straw; the paper straws here were fine, but a bit fragile for the cups.

I had the sun god smoothie and was pretty disappointed. The texture was gummy and not that tasty. Given the price, difficult to recommend.

Great selection of healthy and delicious food and smoothies. I had one of the warm bowls for lunch and absolutely loved it. Good coffee as well.

The Green açaí bowl is soooo creamy and delicious. Perfect healthy breakfast. The breakfast burritos were really good too. I m normally not a huge tofu eater but these were so good! Nice outdoor seating.

Excellent food and options for an early morning after the farmers market. Try the tofu breakfast burrito and the shroom bowl. Both are excellent choices.
