My first night in Santa Monica, and BOA made it unforgettable! From the moment I walked in, the staff at the entrance set a welcoming tone with their warm smiles and professionalism. They were organized and attentive, making the check-in process smooth and enjoyable. Once seated, the service only got better our server was not only knowledgeable about the menu but genuinely enthusiastic, making excellent recommendations that were spot on. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the attention to detail was impressive. BOA was up to my expectations, from the staff at the door to the impeccable service at the table. I’ll definitely be back!

Went with 2 other friends with the recommendation from a friend. We ordered a main and some sides to share. Portions were enough for the 3 of us. Service was really good and servers were attentive to our needs. Atmosphere was nice and good for conversations. Would be back again next time we are in LA.

Each part of our meal was brought out with perfect timing, not interrupting us but not letting us sit for too long either. The steaks were cooked exactly how we asked with edge to edge perfection.

They had seating available indoor and outdoor. We chose outdoors to take in the sun & beach vibes. Service was slow at 6pm on Sunday.

The dining experience was wonderful. All of the staff went out of their way to make us feel special. We don’t order a lot and don’t drink which leads some places to treat us a bit poorly. Not here. We were treated like we ordered the most expensive champagne and steak dinner. We came in late and really enjoyed our light but very filling meal. I had the famous table side Cesear and crab cake. My husband had the waguy meatball and the wedge salad. He loved them both. I loved the salad. It was very good. The crab cake had just enough breading and the crab was very fresh. .

I celebrated my anniversary at BOA Steakhouse, and it was unforgettable. The modern décor and soft lighting created a perfect, intimate atmosphere. We started with Ahi Tuna Tartare, followed by filet mignon and ribeye, both cooked to perfection. The truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus were delicious sides. For dessert, the molten chocolate cake was a delightful ending, and we were surprised with chocolate-covered strawberries to celebrate our occasion.

First things first, service was simple above and beyond! My fiancé and I came here to celebrate a very special occasion and one of the entrées we ordered was the wagyu ribeye Westholme Wagyu . Initially there was some issues with the mistake in regards to how it was cooked versus ordered. They quickly came and took it back to fix it, which unfortunately resulted in the steak becoming overly chard (something that can quite easily happen with such a high fat/marble content). The manager came over and not only apologized, but took both entrées back and remade the full meal! Not only that, but they brought a free drink while waiting, and added a free side dish to our meal. When our meals came back out, they were both done perfectly, and they were both quite delicious (the other meal being the spaghetti and Wagyu meatballs). The whole team at the restaurant was very kind, friendly, apologetic, and provided top-notch service the whole time. PS- they even brought us a nice little dessert presentation for our celebration!!

Had an amazing dinner here! Peter delivered excellent service and the whole staff was helpful. Food was delicious as well especially their mashed potatoes . And for dessert I recommend the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate chip cookie.

I visited this restaurant on a Monday evening during their ONE-hour Happy Hour. Upon arrival, I was initially asked if I was there to pick up a delivery order, possibly due to my casual dress. After clarifying, I chose to sit at the bar. The bartender, a man named Ryan (if I recall correctly), was friendly and professional. He didnt make any assumptions and engaged me in a brief conversation before taking my drink order. For starters, I chose the boneless sweet chili pepper wings from the limited Happy Hour menu. They were absolutely delicious perfectly fried, tender, and well-seasoned. Next, I ordered the shrimp scampi, which was not part of the Happy Hour menu but was worth every penny. The dish featured three jumbo shrimp in a delightful lemony sauce with capers and onions, accompanied by a small piece of bread. It was heavenly to say the least! For my entrée, I decided on the steak frites with fries. Given that this is a steakhouse, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when my steak arrived. It wasnt the teriyaki-like sauce that made it appear dark it was the fact that the steak was burnt, despite my request for a medium-well piece. When Ryan checked in on me, I expressed my dissatisfaction but declined a replacement steak as I needed to return to my room promptly. I ate what I could, had a few more drinks, and requested the check. To my surprise, the total was just over $150, with the burnt steak still included in the bill. While I didnt expect a complete comp, a gesture acknowledging the charred steak would have been appreciated. Despite this, I will return for the restaurants chill but elegant ambiance, the excellent bartender, and those delicious boneless wings. However, I think Ill stick to having steak elsewhere.

We showed up with our 2 kids under 7 thinking maybe we picked the wrong place. We asked the host if kids were ok and they were so happy to have them there and very accommodating. My wife and I shared the westholm ribeye with the garlic mash, corn and broccolini for sides. They don t have a kids menu but they were able to manage a custom order of spaghetti in butter pasta which both kids loved. The spicy margaritas were terrific. Everything we ordered was terrific. Our server was Joseph, he was very attentive and a charm to the kids. Overall everything was great! The cost was up there but they delivered in taste, quality and service. Would highly recommend if you re willing to pay for a great meal and experience

Appetizers and sides were good (minus the brussels sprouts) but we were very disappointed in the main dishes. My partner had the lamb chops and I had the roasted chicken. The lamb chops were a bit chewy and lacked flavor without the sauce. The chicken was completely flavorless. Even the asparagus and potatoes lacked flavor. We chose this restaurant because we were celebrating my partner s bday. There were quite a few parties that were celebrating a special occasion around us. I noticed that each party received cake and ice cream so I requested it as well. I put in the request with our first waitress which was communicated to the waiter that took her spot but for some reason he brought out two cookies and a small scoop of ice cream which had hair in it. It s safe to say we probably won t go back.

BOA is arguably the best steakhouse in Los Angeles. The service runs like a well-oiled machine, and the food is top-tier. I book here every year for our Christmas party. They easily accommodate 60 or more people, but its also a great place for a private date night or a family gathering. Ask for the patio.

Our first time there. We were a group of 8 for a birthday party. The food was amazing. The meat was grilled medium rare. The vegetable sides were seasoned just right. The birthday boy got a smoked old fashioned that reminded me of a campfire. Our server and staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu had suggestions for the meal. One of our favorite spots to grab a delicious steak in LA! Service is outstanding and atmosphere is great. We come here quite often since we live a few blocks away so we tried pretty much everything on their menu and literally every single thing is delicious. We highly recommend their goat cheese baklava, cauliflower tempura, lobster mashed potatoes and you cant go wrong with any of their cuts (Ribeye, NY Strip & Filet).

Great dining experience. Best thing I had here was goat cheese baklava which was incredible. Cajun ribeye, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, skirt steak, and crab cake were all very good. The wagyu meatballs I didnt think were that special. Desserts were good but not a highlight (cookies and toffee cake). Very good non-alcoholic drinks. Great views of the palisades. There was a weird occasional odor to the restaurant, like body odor. Overall I would compare this restaurant to Charcoal Venice, which I think is slightly better.

Went for my birthday and oh my goodness the service was amazing. Our server was so sweet and recommended excellent drinks that would go well with our food. I ordered the tomahawk steak paired with garlic mashed potatoes and it was so delicious and savory. You definitely pay for the delicious food and the amazing experience.

Went today for dinner for the first time. Do not order Sea Bass, it was not fresh. Smelled off and was very gamey. I let the waiter know know but she was too busy. Will never go back and do not recommend the Sea Bass.

THE BUSBOY DRANK MY COKE!! SHOCKING THAT MANAGEMENT ONLY REPLIES TO GOOD REVIEWS! I went here for my 50th birthday. I always celebrate my birthdays there and this was my 50th and special. I reserved in advance and mentioned I do NOT want a seat outside because of people on sidewalk smoking but when we got there, they said all tables are reserved so we ended up sitting outside. I couldnt find my usual order on the menu so I asked our waiter a few questions. he told me why I ask so many questions. this as well as many drunken and smoking people on sidewalks already ruined the night. Towards the end of the dinner, I asked for a refill on my coke but when I drank it, it was Diet Coke. I mentioned to the person who brought the refill for me that this is diet coke. To my horror, he pulled out the straw out of my drink, put it in his mouth, tasted it and said no it s regular coke. Needless to say I was shocked and horrified that he put my straw in his mouth. For such a classy steak house for the employee to put my straw in his mouth was shocking not to mention completely unsanitary. If he is doing this in front of me, I shutter to think what he would do in the kitchen. Even the people next to us were shocked. when I told him I dont want my drink and straw anymore, he got upset and offended at me and started arguing that all he did was to taste my drink and was clearly upset at me. to this day, Im still upset and bothered. it was my 50th Birthday which was completely ruined! To make matters worse, I emailed the customer service about a month ago but no one ever reached out to me! So disappointing.

The service was slow, the waiter forgot what we ordered and the dishes arrived after a long time. The three steaks we ordered were overcooked and dry. We had 3 steaks 2 NY srips 1 ribeye, requested them medium, got well done, returned 2 NY steaks and second try were cooked better. Even then steaks were mediocre at best, sides also not very tasty, brocoli was badly prepared. Salads, ceasar and wedge were good. Service - waiter was annoying, forgot some of the orders multiple times... And bottom line very expensive, especially when you consider the food was boring and mediocre at best. Been here 3 times... First, last and one to many... Wont come here again

Yesterday I went to this restaurant, it was the first and last time there. The New York strip was over cooked, yes it was changed with no questions asked, but the new steak was a low quality beef. Dry not juicy and not tasty. We were three at our table and two New York strips were replaced but the results were the same. The third steak a rib eye was a bit more than fair, and overcooked as well. The oysters seemed to be dry and old, and for the overall experience, was very disappointing. this very expensive restaurant does not deserve to be visited again.

I have no idea how to run a restaurant, but I imagine that there are a few major components: the cooking staff who makes the delicious food every night, the customer facing staff that serves the food and accommodates the clients, and the behind-the-scenes staff that takes care of the paperwork and oversees the jumble of other things that are involved. I ve been to this location a few times, and I m lucky enough to have met a few of those people (Andrew, Brian, Jess) and for whatever one may think of restaurants in tourist traps like Santa Monica, I can say that they care about what happens day to day at BOA. This leads to a steak dining experience that is unique and unforgettable. First course of Tuna Tartare was excellent. Maybe because their sister restaurants that serve sushi, this dish was deliciously balanced between sweet and tart. It was a refreshing and light way to whet one s appetite. I liked it even more than their super popular Goat Cheese Baklava. The GCB is light and airy in the middle with a crispy, savory, and nutty exterior. It s served warm and is another favorite of mine. Caesar s Salad was light and refreshing. Notably, not overpoweringly salt or sweet, and the level of creaminess matched my expectations. Cocktails of Ocean Breeze and BOA Loma were a great match. If you want something a bit more fun, the Smoke Show comes out with a puff of smoke that is Instagrammable. The star of the show is of course the steak: I got the Cajun Cowboy Ribeye (medium rare) and my friend got the Filet (medium). Both came out exactly how we wanted them. For all the stigma of ordering a high-end steak medium, we didn t hear a word. Instead, what came out was two perfect steaks, edge to edge. The signature sauce and chimichurri were a great addition if you re looking for a bit more flavor. Sides of the Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Mashed Potatoes perfectly complimented our meal. Dessert was a chocolate mousse topped with hazelnuts (I forget the name). Amazing. The soft and creamy along with a bite of crunch from the hazelnut made me forget how full I was. Jess really made the dining experience so comfortable and fun. I recommend sitting indoors. The ambiance is tastefully done. If you want to sit outside, maybe sunset on the west facing outdoor patio. I don t recommend the south facing patio: not much to see and feels a bit cramped. Overall, an amazing dining experience. Come hungry, come early, and come ready to walk around after dinner to burn off all the delicious calories.

We drove three hours each way for a birthday dinner. My steak managed to be bloody ( when ordered med well too well) and charbroiled outside at the sane time. The disappointing part is that the server said that a manager would come to make it right - no one ever came. . Mistakes happen but how they are handled is everything. Would not recommend.

My location is very good. The multiple food options and the day selection option are pleasing. The wine menu is above expectations and includes many different options. If you want a nice meal and wine on the beach with an ocean view. A very good option.

Great experience this time after a bit of a downer during my previous visit. Restaurant made up to us by offering 2 free starters which were excellent. The Porter House Steak was really delicious and the service was fast, caring and polite!Recommend this place.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. We ordered some starters, the baklava and the burrata. And took the 21 Day Bone in Ribeye and their Spaghetti and meatballs as main dish. Food is really good. Their staffs are friendly and very hospitable, from the receptionists, to the waiters, and managers.

My experience at BOA steakhouse was great! the only reason why I didnt Rate my experience at the highest ranking stars available is because Ive have better food, better service, better atmosphere, & better prices. Dont get me wrong its still a good steakhouse had a great time. Its just not number 1 for me. (Fleming steakhouse is still number 1). & (Ruth chris is a close number 2). P.s I spent just under 500 for 2 people. Parking: Im uncertain about any of the other options of parking we chose valet. But from what I can see its on the main street there wasnt much free parking available.

We came for the DineLA offer. We (& the couple next to us) were a little surprised that our main entrée came out with only a protein on it. Who wants to eat just protein for your main course? So, we ordered a side to accompany it. I think for a DineLA offer, it should include a small portion of a side on the plate to round out the meal a tad bit. Other than that, service & food are top notch!

We spontaneously decided to go for steak and ended up at BOA. The host was really nice, helping us to a table without reservation. The service was exceptionally friendly and the steak and all of the sides were amazing; best Mac & Cheese and creamy spinach in a long time. We even got some dessert on the house (thanks again!).

We stumbled upon this restaurant on opening weekend and were lucky to get walk in service outside since the restaurant was booked solid all night. We had the zucchini pizza, potato agnolotti and citrus salad. All were divine, highly recommend and will definitely be back!!

A night out with my husband on our trip to LA ended with dinner here. Our waitress was very knowledgeable with the menu and made it very memorable for us. We were seated with a beautiful view of the Pacific Coast and while sipping on wine we watched the sun set. We indulged in bone marrow for our appetizer, shared a tomahawk steak, creamy potatoes and spinach on the side with Brussel sprouts and they really did not disappoint. The flavors were very appeasing and the steak just melted in our mouths. We couldn t finish this delectable meal. I would say that the Brussels sprouts did not pair well with our meal, because it was a strong acidic flavor while everything else had a subtle creamy, not too overpowering flavor.

We booked our small beach wedding dinner here 10 years ago and recently visited again to celebrate our anniversary. The food was as amazing as we remembered and the friendly staff made our celebration memorable. Definitely recommend the goat cheese baklava!

Took my BF here for his birthday dinner! We had lovely experience, treated with nothing but kindness and wonderful service! The atmosphere was so nice, it feels fancy and upscale without being crowded and overwhelming! Food was delicious! I could eat here as a vegan, with multiple entree options, appetizers, and sides! My boyfriend said his steak was probably the best one hes ever had! Highly recommend for a special occasion!

BOA is good at marketing themselves, but the food is pretty basic and disappointing for the cost. I got the wagyu beef sampler for $200 expecting something amazing. It was presented to me cold so the fat had congealed and it tasted like raw fatty bacon. I just assumed a place with wagyu on the menu would know how to cook it. The sides tasted good but you can find just as tasty sides at a $$ steak or bbq joint. Overall, we wasted $500 on this place and I hope my posting this helps you avoid our mistake.
