This place was so cute! I loved the decor and swinging chairs. This was the perfect lunch spot - I sat at the bar! It was hard to decide what to order because there were soo many good options! I ordered the Cucumber Margarita, Kale Salad, and Hot Chicken Sandwich. I enjoyed all of my food and had the best Kale Salad I’ve ever had! I plan on revisiting The Surfing Fox the next time I’m in Santa Monica and would highly recommend it.

This place was great! Went on a Tuesday and the server could not have been nicer to us. Food and drinks were all on point and I really liked the decor of the place too. The Fecacia bread was AMAZING! Even with it being close to the pier, this place seems like a hidden gem, well worth it! The only "negative" would be that it seemed like 1 server was on duty and he was SUPER BUSY the entire time.

Nestled right by Santa Monica Pier, this is a decent restaurant I found while looking for a place with an outdoor seating. Not many items on the menu, and the burger was okay. I loved their fries though. Staff were super friendly and extremely attentive, while the ambiance was terrific. They have a pretty sweet outdoor patio, and the inside gives you that fun, beach vibe suited for Santa Monica. Ideal for a casual Friday date!

The street corn focaccia is phenomenal. The coconut cocktail for two is also delicious.

Chicken sandwich was decent -- the bread was super basic and a little dry. The fries were really good. Next time I'll try the burger.

Service on Saturday night not amazing -- had to ask for water refill. I also would have gotten dessert but was never offered a dessert menu.

We had an incredible experience at this restaurant. Sitting outside on the comfy couch with tables was a delight, especially with the cozy throw pillows and blankets that kept us warm against the ocean breeze. The ambiance and decor were outstanding, creating a perfect vibe. From our seats, we enjoyed a view of the pier entrance and some excellent people-watching.

The food was spectacular. We ordered the mahi-mahi fish tacos and the fried chicken sandwich, both of which were absolutely delicious. The tacos featured fresh, homemade tortillas and a perfectly balanced mix of ingredients, complemented by a lime half dipped in Tajin for an extra kick. The fried chicken sandwich was packed with flavor, with epic toppings and a buttery bun that didn’t get soggy. This place truly knows how to cook!

For drinks, he enjoyed a refreshing IPA while I sipped on unsweetened iced tea with lemon. Both beverages were perfect for a beach day and paired wonderfully with our meals.

I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an upscale venue in a touristy area. The prices were average for LA but well worth the money. After our delicious lunch, we walked right over to the beach and pier. There are plenty of paid parking options within a block. We chose the multi-story parking structure nearby, paying about $8 for 5 hours, which covered our lunch and beach time.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: We found this location and so thankful we did! We were greeted very warmly and customer service through out the whole night was amazing. FOOD: I ordered a mocktail cause pregnant and it was very delicious. And the FOOD!!!! Beyond delicious! One of the best meals I had in a while at a different location than home. I wish I took a photo, but just dug in. I got the half chicken breast with green curry rice and coconut cream. Highly suggest you get it! ATMOSPHERE: Extremely comfortable. They have couches, chairs, pillows and more. But very clean. The bathroom they had lotion for after you wash your hands. Very relaxing place to go. Price was also very reasonable!

Came because of Google reviews; very disappointed. Food was mediocre, there was no bartender available to make mixed drinks, and Service was a little bit slow. One of us had the fish and chips which was very mediocre. The Frito Misto was subpar, two of us had the mussels which were just OK. Would probably not recommend going to this restaurant if someone asked me where to eat by the Pier. But the decor was lovely!

Service was good, menus werent updated and they no longer make what I was going to order. Got the most flavorless fish and chips Ive ever had, but the presentation was exquisite and the spicy fries were delicious. Great decor, mid air conditioning during this heat wave, but in the end 28 bucks was too much for two small pieces of fish and some fries. Husband and I spent 75 bucks for one drink, one app, and one meal that wasnt very good.

Sorry to say. I didnt like what we ordered. Breakfast Sandwich: it was tolerable but not good. I guess maybe 1 out of 10 might say it was okay.. the sandwich came with breakfast potatoes, which were straight up horrible. Crab roll: most expensive item on the brunch menu. It was definitely not even close to good. The ambience was okay. The service was great.

I ve been here twice now and every drink and appetizer I ve tried have been so good. Very cute atmosphere in a high-energy part of town. I think most consumers I ve seen have been tourists, but I hope more locals start discovering this place too. What really makes Surfing Fox stand out is their service and staff. Came with a friend with a severe food allergy. Our waiter, Saint, went above and beyond to ensure his meal met his necessary diet without any risk of cross contamination. We had a great meal. There s hardly anything on the menu and the wood was weak. Options are fried chicken, fried chicken, a burger and mahi tacos. My friend ordered her burger well-done, the easiest way to make a burger and it came out pink throughout. My sister in law ordered the mahi tacos and said the fish was gross. The spicy chicken sandwich was decent but the service was weak af. Our server disappeared for a while. We were fooled by the 4.9/5 rating which seems fake given some recent 3 star reviews I just now saw. I would not return.

The Brussels sprouts were so flavorful it set me up for a huge disappointment when my entree came. The halibut was the most flavorless dish I ve had in a while. I didn t detect one spice, not even salt or pepper. It was a real disappointment. The service and atmosphere were good though, the temperature notwithstanding (it was quite chilly in the restaurant), and they were good about food sensitivities with gluten free and other options noted on the menu.

We had a big group in the patio area and it was the perfect setting for our gathering. With unobstructed Pier views paired with tasty cocktails + unique dishes, we were entertained for hours on end and never wanted to leave. Saint, our server, was impeccable and attentive and items came out quick. Definitely recommend for all types of diners from big groups to couples considering the space is dynamic, accommodating both social and intimate occasions. Dont forget to bring your pup too! There is a dedicated dog menu with a Barkuterie Board calling your furry friends name. Dietary restrictions: there is something for everyone!

Firstly, I must say the service and atmosphere is excellent. But, I must also admit that we went at a time when it was basically empty. We ordered Fritto misto, which was not so great. Not sure if the oil was old, or there was too much batter but the food was over cooked/the batter was dark. It didnt have flavor. We ate it cause we were starving. Next, we tried the Lobster roll, this was really good, but the portion was so small that it was not worth the $30. This felt more like an appetizer for 1 person. We left hungry.

On November 21, I had a fantastic dinner here at the Surfing Fox. The place is unassuming and seemingly undiscovered (even though the reviews for this place are perfect), maybe because it is adjacent to the lobby of a hotel, but dont let that fool you. We were lucky enough to have Saint waiting our table and Will as our chef (if I recall correctly). Saint was incredibly nice, professional, and a pleasure to talk to! Will created one of the best hot chicken sandwiches I have ever eaten. The fish taco entree and sweet potato side were also some of the best dishes Ive had in my life. Im definitely coming back.

Great place to go To and relax. Enjoy the open space and having the option to sit inside or at the bar or even outside. Service was great and everyone was nice and welcoming. Found this place because of DineLA. We will 100% be coming back here. Everything was absolutely amazing. The guacamole and caesar salad are a must if you come here. The Mexican and Asian fusion on every dish blend together so well. Sweet potato is not one of my favorite things but I was completely blown away by their sweet potato dish. If you are in Santa Monica and looking to try something new you HAVE to try The Surfing Fox.

We had an amazing meal at The Surfing Fox! We stumbled across this place for Dine LA and we couldn t be more pleased. Food: Guac - flavorful, a generous portion with excellent homemade tortilla chips. caesar salad - we were somewhat split on this. The flavors and ingredients were great. We loved the crouton crumbles. I think it was slightly overdressed, my partner loved it. So if you are sensitive to dressings I d just ask for it on the side. Cheeseburger - a no-frills high quality burger. The patty was a decent size and cooked perfectly. It came with THE BEST fries. Highly recommend. Fish Tacos - there was a prior review saying these were flavorless, I couldn t disagree more. Our fish was fried perfectly, very soft and juicy. The tortillas were very good as well. Sweet Potatoes - we almost didn t get these and I m so glad we did! They somehow tasted creamy and were so good. Snap peas - these were cooked very well. Definitely cooked through but still left with a slight crisp. Dressed in a really tasty sauce. Drinks - we got the margarita and the east side. Both were delicious, and a great price with happy hour. Service: Impeccable. We interacted with multiple staff during our meal. The servers, bussers, manager, all were very friendly, attentive, and interactive. Atmosphere: Great vibes! The decor is very instagramable, but also comfortable. Great sound track. The soap in the bathroom smelled amazing! Overall we couldn t have been more happy with our visit. I m hoping that they build out their brunch menu, this would be a great place for a meal with friends or guests. Given its location and food quality, I think this place is going to catch on quickly. We will definitely be back.

We passed through on our move to Texas and can confidently say they have great staff, great food and truly so welcoming to dogs. The hostess last night (10/4)helped out a ton because they were a little short staffed but because she and the rest of the staff were so great you could barely feel it. They also had coraline playing and passed out some popcorn which was so fun and a great touch. I can t recommend this place enough!

Wow. Tried this spot and had the best evening! First off, the food was delicious. The fritto misto, the shishitos, the ceasar, the burgers...all excellent. The cocktails were just right, and deliscious. The service was superlative. Friendly, kind staff with heartwarming smiles...the best. (Thanks again, Saint.) The vibe was laid-back but still elegant, and we lounged and ate at our own pace. I really cant describe what a lovely evening we had. If I lived in Santa Monica, and not Oklahoma, this would be a regular spot.

Whoever hired a Jeff, made the best decision ever. I walked in there one time, and his smile lit up the room. He had the best customer service and told me all about the best things to order on the menu. And it is definitely a hidden gem in Santa Monica. If you haven t been there, go down and ask for Jeff!

The food was delicious. I m a sucker for calamari and good drinks. That s exactly what I had. But the star of the night was SAINT! We connected about being from the south, and it went from there. First West Coast visit and this place alone is worth a revisit! Our waiter, Saint, is a true gem and indeed a saint. My friends and i got a bomb fried chicken sandwich, the fritto misto is to die for. Hanger steak is one of the best youve tasted but the service from Saint was other-worldly. Stumbled upon this little gem for a small business meeting. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is exceptional (OMG the ceviche was bomb and the Brussels sprouts were yummmyyy). EAST COAST IN THE HAUS! JEFF hosted me and my best friend at the bar two nights in a row and was awesome. Ever since they opened, I have enjoyed coming here to eat. The food is flavorful, unique and affordable. The ambiance is classy yet relaxing. The atmosphere feels like family. Service is topnotch, especially from the waiter Saint, whose enthusiasm and knowledge of the food makes for an overall smooth experience. I highly recommend this place! Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options and the menu highlights them. Kid-friendliness: I see kids at the restaurant with their parents and such and they always seem very happy.

Loved this place! Our amazing server, Saint, really made us feel welcome and set the time for a fun and joyful meal. My girl friends and I recently went to The Surfing Fox for dinner. We sat at the bar and our bartender, Jeff, made sure we had a good time! His recommendations were spot on and all of the cocktails we had (and we literally tried all of them) were amazing. The food was also incredible. You really can t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the ceviche and Thai tea tiramisu were definite standouts. Also - for the dog moms and dads, they have a cute dog specific menu!

Amazing atmosphere and unbeatable service! Jeff is the best bartender I ve had in a long time, would come back just for him! The food and drinks were fantastic and the outlets at the bar are so convenient to charge up your phone after a long day at the beach. There is truly something here for everyone, with many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free friendly options, as well as great cocktails and a long list of beer and wine to select from.

I live right down the street from Surfing Fox and was so exited when it opened! What a cool atmosphere right down the street from the beach! Got a spot at the bar and my guy Jeff made me an awesome drink called the Prickly Pear (10/10 recommend). Jeff s service was phenomenal, really cool guy! Definitely my new spot in the neighborhood.
