Definitely home style cooking. I always get the breakfast plate. I have had lunch and that was just as good. Our server was great but super overwhelmed. The food took awhile and still came out cold and super salty. I had the chicken club with a cup of chili worth every bit. Because of this food experience, I'm reluctant to come back to eat. Atmosphere is so good inside. Booths and tables are great in each section. The bar area looks so awesome and the wide space is really enriching for the restaurant. Get here early for the peach pie it sells out! Maybe we'll try it again.

I visited twice in the last few weeks, for breakfast and lunch.

Sick and wanted chicken pot pie and pumpkin pie so came here. Usually come here for pies and desserts for my husband. Chicken pot pie came with a soup or salad so being sick I got the chicken tortilla soup which was amazing!! Pot pie is ok but I don’t like the mushrooms and it throws off the flavor. No pumpkin pie so I got a pumpkin muffin which is good too.

Some of the best muffins and baked goods anywhere. Menu overall is satisfying and priced well. Definitely try the bakery items if you haven't, and stop in for breakfast. You'll see why Hoff's has been a part of the community for as long as they have!

I am always punctual in the information I provide and even more so about restaurants. Today I had breakfast with my wife at this place, but the omelettes had a not very good flavor at the end, which I think was due to an ingredient (Maybe the oil), which was not the best, but it did not allow me to enjoy a very good menu. On the other hand, the dishes on the menu are super attractive, the place is beautiful, the service is excellent, and the prices are fair.

Its very deserving of 5 stars It starts right when you walk in the door & see all the.... desserts staring at (bet you thought I was going to say all the people sitting there waiting) . Just get one on your way out. As I can almost guarantee that you ate everything on your plate, the meals are so good. So, yes! You can have dessert. Mom and I have been there a couple of times now. Each time seems to get better. The customers are so kind too. A couple gave us their turn in line as we hadnt eaten all day due to appointments. I didnt want mom to wait forty minutes, so I ran to the bathroom before we went in search of a quicker meal, came back to find that they gave us their place. I about had tears. Saw them on the way out, so we shared what we had chosen for our meals. The gentleman was very impressed with the pork chops. Our next visit, I couldnt get the pork chops off my mind. Hence, the pic of my beautiful plate of food. Mom had the pot roast dinner. She couldnt have been happier. We had the best time. The staff made it even that much more special. Our server Luis was having a son in a few days, so we all agreed on my brothers name, Terry. Congrats, Luis! Have to say, kindness is just everywhere. What a great atmosphere. Wheelchair accessibility: There is rampage everywhere. The parking lot has accessible spots, which may be hard to get, but just wait a little bit. Someones bound to leave soon. Entrance is wheel chair friendly. So is the restaurant throughout with the ramp options to your booth.

I used to love hofs but. But when I went with my grandma last week we were both very disappointed. The food was so below expectations . The egg on my omelette was way over cooked it had some brown on the egg and the tomatoes in my omelette made it a tough soggy mess. The sausage had grizzle in them and not quality tasting . The hash browns were nice and crispy but that was about it oh the muffin was pretty good too but I had to send my soda back because it tasted like it had no carbonation or sugar. I was pretty sad neither of us loved our food as much as we hoped we would

It was ok, I dont like the robot to which brings you your food. It doesnt recognize when people are walking and it goes way too fast. People are getting more lazy and I dont restaurants who are replacing people. Im old school and this is not no. Help was fine, but the food, the food was terrible. The fries we asked for well done, they were not cooked. The tacos and burritos were gresy and sloppy. Tase was bad, and it sucks because it makes you really just want to cook for yourself. I used to love this place.

PleaSe tell me Im not trippen. The chocolate Wipeout cake used to be WAY better!! This was my favorite chocolate cake growing up and even into my adulthood. Its been a few years since having any and I got a slice today... What the heck is this. Its just a very basic chocolate cake that lacks the richness of the old. The frosting tastes like store-bought frosting, and it used to be so good. Not to mention the slice is much smaller. Mandella effect? Or just corporations cutting cost. Either way Im sad.

I havent been in a Hofs Hut since the 70s. So, when I saw this one I had to stop in. Wish I was hungrier, but had the soup, salad and zucchini bread. It was real good. Staff were great and served timely. Prices very decent on menu.

Food potions wished were better,sat in the Bar area on Friday 7/12/24 Jose was working,very pleasant & polite. But he is by himself on a Friday at 430pm. Didn t get any help only a runner to run the food. Never got my drink refilled. The man has too make all the beverages for the restaurant.

Several weeks ago had good ribeye steak dinner and good service Recent visit was driving so phoned in order and it took around 15 minutes to get order placed. When arrived the bag was sitting on the counter but took about 15 minutes to get the food. Realized it would probably not be warm after sitting there that long, but if did not take food it would probably be thrown away and do not like to waste food. Opening box to eat, food was limp and steak had numerous tendon like pieces in most bites that were unchewable.

Great place to go with friends and family. I try to order something different to see what I really like. So far it s the chicken fried steak with turkey gravy. I don t really care for the white gravy. The fried shrimp is really good and the turkey dinner is really good too during the holidays. I just recently had the beef dip I was very happy with that! All the issues in my previous review seem to have been addressed and the restaurant is back on my list of go-to places. ******************************************* We like coming to Hofs Hut because the food is always good and usually, the service is too, but we were a little disappointed in the service today. We entered the restaurant on Sunday 9/3/23 at roughly 2:50pm. First, I noticed there were many open booths available yet was told there was a 15 min wait to be seated. This was odd and made me think that perhaps they were short staffed. Once we were seated, our server took our order and in a short while, a gentleman delivered it to our table. Our server checked on us once but that was the last we saw of her. We ate and were ready to pay our check but our check never came. I didnt get a good look at our server so I wasnt sure which was ours and was unable to flag her down, so after waiting a bit longer, I decided to go up to the bar area and asked the lady, who appeared to be a manager or assistant manager, if I could pay my check there. She obliged and I was on my way. An observance during our visit: As we were being seated, we passed by a table that needed bussing. We saw a young man walk by the table many times then back to the hostess stand, where he was drinking a soda, before deciding to clear away the dishes and wipe down the table as he flung the pieces of food to the seat and floor (this process took him 15 minutes); later we observed another table needing clearing, which sat for another 10 minutes while the young man sipped his soda before deciding to clear it. This must be his first job with no one showing him what to do (poor kid) as he stacked the dirty glasses and sat them on the clean table behind him so he could wipe down the dirty table (the dirty glasses were still on the clean table as we left the restaurant). I wonder if the restaurant is under new management because it sure felt like it was mismanaged today.

Mainly appeals to the older set in many ways, from music to atmosphere, but you rarely see an unhappy person during your visit. I reviewed this location before, but I did not supply pictures. I take my 90 year old mom here because its easy for her to navigate with a walker. The place is brand new and roomy. They have a not-so-outdoor patio where I can bring my dog. Everything Ive had there has been good. Im vegetarian, so thats only 2 or 3 things... but they are good. My mom likes the food.

Hofs Hut Restaurant and Bakery in Seal Beach is a large facility with a very large selection of American style breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. Their food is very good and plentiful. Pricing is average for this kind of food. I would recommend a stop here foe a very good meal.

There were three of us for lunch two of us got our lunches served and they were quite good. However the third was a club sandwich that was ordered specifically with no tomatoes and to have avocado. 1st time having breakfast at Hofs Hut in Seal Beach. I had heard great things about this place for a very long time. I wish the experience was better but unfortunately it was just ok. The restaurant wasnt very busy. We were sat immediately and our waiter took our orders quickly. When our meals came one of them was completely wrong and another had half the order wrong. The food was a little bland and we had to ask for basic condiments (ketchup, tobasco). A milk that was ordered when our food came wasnt brought to us till we had finished our food. They may have been understaffed in the front and back of the house but something as simple as a beverage shouldnt be that hard to fulfill, especially when our server went by our take multiple times after the request was made. Gonna give it another try and Ill update my review at that time if the experience is better.

I love Hofs and have for many, many years. It took too long for me to get here to see any try this location. Its stunning! I was delighted by every inch of the decor. I had chicken tortilla soup, which was delicious, and the blueberry muffin was so good, just as I remembered. Our server was social and kind. It was a wonderful first visit.

Its a very good restaurant. When you walk into the restaurant, you can see a variety of desserts that will make you salivate. Strawberry pie, blueberry pie, etc. The restaurant has bright glass and unique decoration. The meals here include burger set, steak set, seafood set, spaghetti, and childrens set. Hostess was pretty racist today, he sat my 10 year old son and me away from the regular tables in a corner by the bar, when another Hispanic family showed up they were also seated in the same area away from the regular tables seated by white people. That young man needs to be retrained. The breakfast and waitress service was excellent. Great coffee too.

We used to come in more often at the old location on Katella. Staff was very cordial in the past. Came in for lunch a few months ago with a friend and the server was not very friendly. Maybe she was getting off so she wanted us to hurry and order. Last week I came back to get bakery with my last $15 bonus cards for purchasing Gift cards. Now is all printed paper not physical card. The young lady ran the bonus card paper and stated it s been claimed. I told her I brought in my two bonus cards and used one a week prior and the staff handed me this one back as unused. She called the manager Martin and he also tried and it failed. Before I can tell him what happened, he cut me off and said Many people buy gift cards and I don t know what you mean? when I tried to show him my bonus card. All he said was I am just going to comp you the money in a very irritated tone. I was offended as if I am trying to cheat and told him that. He again bluntly said That s not what I am saying . I didn t want to say anymore as he didn t want to hear. I paid and left with such unpleasant feelings. Needless to say I will not buy there gift cards again. How does a manager act this way? I have $5 cash in my hand to tip the young lady but ended up I didn t get a chance as she just stood and witnessed this interaction. So disappointed at this local restaurant

Food is OK, but they have much competition from the likes of Islands, Red Robin, etc who have better food and much better pricing and deals. Prices are really high at this Hofs Hut and portion size is moderate to small. Also, I think these are the same recipes I remember from 20 years ago.

Finally visited the new (re-located) location to dine in and I was very amazed at the great look and aesthetics of the restaurant. What caught my eye first, during the holidays, was the fireplace they have there. Its so inviting to just want to eat next to it. The bar in the middle looks great! All the booths and tables looked great too with plenty of space. The good was delicious. I ordered a pot roast sandwich and it did not disappoint. Dessert was a mini strawnana cream pie and it was really good as always. Service was great, staff was friendly. Restrooms were nice and clean as well.

I ate at the bar but wasnt spoken to for quit a while. Service was ok but the pile of dirty tableware stack on the end of the bar was gross.

Crip and fresh salad had it with the balsamic vinaigrette! Chicken pot pie was delicious and fresh out the oven it was baked to perfection! Highly Recommend

Great place to eat. Chicken pot pie is delicious. Our server was very friendly however it appeard that there was not enough servers for the amount of diners. We did have to wait for our check quite a long time and after food was delivered she only checked on us at that time. We could see her at the other end of the restaurant, she was hustling. Just seems like there is never enough help at this location.
