Panera Bread

I had the beef and cheddar on Asiago focaccia bread and half a chicken Caesar salad. The food is vary good. The service fast and friendly. I don’t normally go to places like this but I was given a gift card. Cost was $32 for what would cost about $6 made at home. And that’s why I don’t eat at places like this.

Spent $60 here and they forgot bacon on the bacon mac n cheese and just threw cold bacon pieces onto then gave it back and the blt i also ordered was bland and wasn't really that good. Inside the restaurant has a bad odor to it as well. Never coming back to this restaurant.

We stopped into this iconic Panera Bread location that has been an eye-catching Seal Beach mainstay over the years. We ordered an Asiago cheese bagel with low-fat chives and onion cream cheese, a bacon, egg, and cheese on Ciabatta, an Americano, and a cup of regular coffee. The service was very fast, there were lots of booths to choose from, and the meal was very good. The carousel shape of the building lends itself to lots of all-around natural lighting, which makes for a relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed our morning visit.

I wish there was a better system of rating allowing for negative scores. Our experience was bad enough to decide never ever to try another place of this franchise. What they call cheese toast is sweet bread with melted “cheese” product on top.
The pizza alike creation is with smelly low quality cheese often passed as “Italian” in California. Overpriced like never before. I bet prison food is made better in a lot of places.

Panera is a generally good place to eat! Little high prices... but still good. I ate here a lot in the past, and they got rid of my favorite dish, the garlic buttered noodles, and i stopped going there for a while. When i started going back again, i tried their sandwiches and they are pretty good, although their chicken on the sandwiches is minimal and it’s sort of like they are trying to jip you! Their bread is nice, and desserts too. Although the high pricing, ’okay’ food.

I had the chance to dine in yesterday night for dinner. Let me just say Connor at the front was super helpful and very courteous to me and my family. His service definitely was the highlight of our dine in experience. I valued his transparency and attitude. And the chipotle chicken was pretty tasty too.

Very dirty, trash over flowing dirty floors, tables with dirty plates, bad management. Oh yes and the smell of mold / sewage. This is a health hazard. Those poor employees. It pains me to give this place a negative review. Panera s are wonderful but 80% of the ones I visit are just run down and remind me of a rotting whale on the beach. The building is unique/cute. The outside seating area is plentiful and clean. But the interior looks dead/dark/dreary. Went in at 3pm on a Saturday. A really bad pungent odor was lingering around the whole dining area. Couldn t tell if it was mold, sitting water, etc. (I came to the same location a couple weeks later - same awful pungent smell. Though not as strong as initially. If this is a yeast smell from the baking, then I apologize. And readers can ignore this complaint. But if it s not yeast, there s a serious mold/sitting water problem somewhere.) There were 8 tables that had finished food/bowls just sitting there for God knows how long. Perhaps this was the cause for the smell? Unsure. But I can t blame them there were only 3-4 people working. So perhaps they were understaffed. The internet was nonexistent. It was beyond bad. Couldn t even load the Google homepage once connected. Not even heavy traffic. There were 5 customers in the shop. Defeated the whole purpose of coming here to do work. Cups were not stocked. So you have to wait at the register until a skeleton crew member can come to serve you. Not sure if this is due to the homeless population or general abuse of free drinks. It is Rossmore, so perhaps that s got something to do with it. A place that has great potential, but left to neglect. The employees were all friendly and nice though. Service was good.

Good food and pleasant staff. They seemed to be a little short staffed, so we had to stand in a long line to order at the only open register. The food also took a while to prepare, but it was good and fresh. Their handicap parking spots are in a difficult location to access the restaurant. You either have to snake your way through tables, chairs, and heaters, or you go the long way around to the doors.

Cute building, very consistent quality of food compared to other Panera locations. Giving it a 3 for the time limit on WiFi. The time limit policy will inhibit me from coming back. Choose local or Starbucks if you want a place to eat, sip, and work. Edit: Actually left about 20 minutes for Peet s Coffee just across the parking lot. Go there. Don t do this Panera.

There is an incredibly strong smell coming from the sewer. It is overpowering. Staff says the smell has been there for a while and wont get resolved until later this year when the city finishes construction.

The experience you expected at Panera when they first came out has degraded significantly. The food is expensive but the portions are smaller. This Panera isnt dirty, but its not clean either. Havent been there in more than a year. Forgot this is a serve yourself place. Hard to find a table after ordering. Almost forgot to take the buzzer thing to let us know when the food was ready. Took a long time for them to prepare two half sandwiches. The bread seemed old and cold, not what I expected in a bakery. The filling in the sandwiches was bland and almost tasteless. But a small bag of chips was included. And it wasnt cheap.

Went into the restaurant to get a sipclub drink. As I pressed my cup to get ice tea, it started barely coming out of the nozzle. Took a look at the container, and it was stained very badly. They obviously have not been cleaned out for a while and full of bacteria. Heard employees yelling at each other in the kitchen like a fight was going to happen. This is probably the worst Panera I have been in.

The staff was very nice, but there are some pretty bad health problems here. The manager was coughing into her gloves, and then using it to touch food. She did eventually change gloves, but still not very sanitary. The restroom sink is absolutely covered in mold. Looks like it hasnt been cleaned in months. The fountain dispenser is absolutely covered from top to bottom in mold. It has old rags sitting next to it, its dripping water. Its just nasty. The food handlers also throw your dirty receipt on top of your food. So nasty.

Reception/cashiers are always great. Service for food orders to go is very slow. 15-20 minutes for a breakfast sandwich with little to no orders pending is poor. My recent trip I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches with egg whites. One was with egg whites the other had a mix with the yolk. I live too far to drive back. I keep hoping service and mgmt get better but not much has changed for me to keep coming back to Seal Beach location. Thanks

Glad they kept this retro design. It s cozy with a counter and comfortable seating. The soups are always delicious, particularly the butternut squash or tomato soup- perfect for any day. The salads are fresh with large portions. We always bring home half of the salad for the next day. Our favorite salads are the strawberry poppyseed and Caesar salad. Vegan salads, soups and sandwiches are available The sandwiches are good- fresh ingredients with good bread. You can also order low- carb options. And of course, we always get a home-made cookie. ( can t resist)

This Panera is a joke. I ve put in app orders only to have to wait 25 minutes after my pick up time. When I went in to grab my drink just now, the drink bar area was a mess with trash and liquids over the counters. The ice machine just didn t work and when I asked an employee about it, he just flippantly replied yep as he was walking away. Great, glad I ordered a lemonade . Which was warm already. Not sure fruit juice is supposed to just sit warm. They took over an adorable vintage diner building to put this horribly run chain restaurant what a waste.

Ive been to several different locations (Brea, Seal Beach, Westchester, Los Angeles) and every single time I get scatterbrained work staff (if there are even enough people to staff a shift), long wait times, and short supply of many items. They need go shut them all down and rethink how they do business post Covid. Im done with Panera.

It was so dirty! There was no place to sit bc all the tables were dirty. When I asked the cashier about it he just said , yeah we have no runners. I know there are no workers these days but yuck- too dirty. Also bummed that there was no silverware only plastic. I will just go to grocery store next time to buy the same soup. Don t waste your time or money there. So disappointed- I used to love that place.

Panera in General is great - this Panera though is below average, particularly because the internet is bad - speed test shows around .1MB/s download and even less of an upload. That and they were completely out of Prickly Pear - though they did have the other teas at least. They do have sockets - and they work, so thats a plus.

Used the self-serve kiosk to order takeout for 4 to avoid the line. Kiosk mirrors their website ordering system. Was unable to use website to order without waiting 2 hours and 35 minutes. Food was prepared to order and everything tasted as expected. There is not an adequate space to wait for your order within view of the preparation screen or hearing distance of the expediter without being in the way of servers and other customers.

Placed an order for rapid pick up and when I got there I literally waited 1hr for a measly sandwich never again will I come to this location. If your gonna take that long the least they could ve done was put a notice instead of giving an estimated time of 10 mins. I would ve ordered at a different location for all that

It took about 25 minutes in line to order and 60 minutes to get our food! Common response, :short staffed. When I asked at the kitchen after 30 minutes, thats what I was told and it would be another 20 or 30 minutes. Got our food in another 30 minutes. It would have been good management to tell us before ordering about the delay. It also would have gone along ways to have sent out free cookies to placate us. But, then again it would have taken someone away from clearing tables or preparing our food. Maybe just a brief announcement apologising for the delays.aa

Super Busy around lunch time. Food was good. And they really improved their ordering process by allowing people to order via their touchscreens. Saved about 10 minutes of waiting in line. There are a couple of things that they could improve on: There is no way of knowing when your food was ready so people were all standing by the counter. They had buzzers but they were all taken when I ordered. 2. When youre done eating you dont know where to take your plates and trays.

Service was ok, not the best. Atmosphere likewise, tables were dirty. Food way overpriced- somehow a small date became a $30 meal. Sad that 2020 closed our favorite affordable date place (souplantation). If Im going to pay for expensive soup, Id rather go to Boudin than Panera

The food was good as always but this location has a lot of staff turn over and it shows. The line was outside the door with a new cashier in training (which seems to be happening every time I visit this location) The management is overworking the staff at minimum wages while the food is way overpriced.

This visit was last straw for this particular Panera. Food was very good. Service, stank!!! Our food arrived in no time, real quick. I asked waiter, when he came around again, to bring butter (...please.) His response (...You have to get it yourself. Its the other side by the counter...). NO TIP for you, buddy. No more Panera in Los Alamitos/Rossmor area for me anymore. Im a very good be tipper, if the service warrants it. However, based on my last experience there a few weeks ago, I have decided to zero tip on my card & pay cash gratuity instead. After all, gratuity is just me what it is...Im grateful for the good service and courtesy. In return, I give them something extra from me.
