Soooooooo goooood! Had the Black Tonkotsu soy sauce ramen with pork broth, bamboo shoots, soy sauce, green onions, egg, bbq pork, and black garlic oil. Everything was very fresh and savory! The second time I went there I ordered the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen that has pork broth with chatsu (bbq pork) topped with green onions, corn and egg.

I was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away, and I was greeted by a friendly server. Upon looking at the menu, I was surprised to see some Korean style ramen. I ended up with the double chasu with pork broth. The broth was very flavorful. Although, the bowl looked like something was missing. The noodles were good, but I felt the chasu wasn’t how I’m used to; it wasn’t thick and more like for grilling. Then I figured out the owners were Korean, and now everything makes sense. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good, but not to what I expected.

Food. Nothing special. Tastes straight forward leaning towards bland. I added curry on the side for $5. No meat, my mistake. Just rice and curry. Should have gotten chicken Karage. Tonkatsu Ramen broth was bland for me, leaning on the watery side. I added chilly pepper and sesame oil to give it that bump in flavor. Egg was fully cooked, I like mine yokey. Chashu pork slices pretty thin. Points for one piece playing on the tv. radio music in the background.
Free mochi ice cream at the end is nice

I recently visited Gomen Ramen in Stanton and had an amazing experience. This cozy restaurant serves delicious Japanese Ramen, appetizers, and drinks. Despite being busy during lunchtime, the service was friendly and the food was so flavorful. They offer a variety of noodle choices including thin, thick, spinach, tofu, low-carb, and gluten-free noodles. I enjoyed their healthy options.
The menu include different types of broth like chicken, pork, and a veggie option. I loved the meat lover ramen with triple chasu as it was a generous portion and the soup was rich and flavorful. Additionally, they offer fried rice, udon, curry, and a variety of appetizers such as fried dumplings, takoyaki, and Karaage. The Karaage was especially good, perfectly fried and juicy.
The service was friendly, although the food did take a while to arrive. However, the delicious food made the wait worthwhile.

In the mood for something different, I went with the Mabo Ramen at this Japanese spot. The texture and flavor brought a unique twist to my ramen experience. It's funny how it reminded me of savoring a hearty bowl of chili, but with that distinct ramen twist. It's described on the menu as a soy sauce ramen with mabo tofu (Japanese gravy with tofu, chopped BBQ pork pieces, and green onions). It was a solid choice, and I would definitely order it again. The blend of flavors made it a memorable dish.

Nice service, unfortunately the food was just so-so. I have no idea if this is actually original Japanese. In any case, my Japanese curry only tasted like ready-made powder and Maggi. Not recommended. The ramen looked pretty good, but the broth was a bit bland. But there were lots of fresh vegetables. Unfortunately also a lot of canned corn.

Ive been going here for years but havent been in a long time. I came back after seeing ads for a weekly $7.99 special and, well, I was tired of paying for $20 ramen (after tax and tip) at most places. Wound up paying about $10 total so essentially it was half off. This weeks special was the tonkotsu miso ramen and it was good. It had a nice distinct miso flavor and also included an egg, corn, and 3 pieces of chashu. They also threw in a piece of mochi ice cream which normally goes for $3. Love the promos, and will come back again soon to take advantage of the specials.

Been going to Gomen for years. Food is always good. I like the variety and the combination options. I would not go back if otherwise. However another constant is the level of service. Some days youll get staff thats on the ball and sharp. I havent been seeing these staffers lately. Makes it hard to go there not knowing what type of servers youll get. The taste of the good food is erased with the chasing down people for water, service, or the check. And these would be days where they werent packed.

I was born in Nagasaki, but the Champon here was quite delicious. It was a little thinner than the authentic version, but it was delicious without being too thick or too thin. There was so much that I couldnt finish it by myself (although I ate most of it). I was pleasantly surprised that it contained mussels. In the first place, champon means a mixture of various things, so Im happy that it contains all kinds of meat, vegetables, and seafood Later, the noodles were the same as Champon noodles, but if I could buy them here, I would buy them too! ! lol The recommendation below didnt have champon in it, so I figured the regular ramen would probably be delicious as well, so I chose it. Oh, and then I had fried chicken and mochi ice cream (azuki) I dont live nearby, but this is a store I would definitely like to visit again. I want to eat some rice next time. Lastly, I think the customer service is also perfect. Thank you for the meal

Ramen was really good, but the service was really bad. Not sure if it was new staff but we placed a to go order and were told 20 minutes around 5pm....we come back in that time frame and they didnt even place the order and must have forgot, and the server who helped us didnt apologize or anything, super disappointed. Then we ended up waiting another 30 minutes for our ramen and curry, watched the other orders go out way before ours and lots of disorganization, with a transactional thank you at the end. No hospitality whatsoever. Also saw the chef put her hands and remove chasu from ramen with her hands and then the server place a slice of nori in the ramen with their hands, after I watched them touch multiple things before hand with no hand washing. Super put off by how bad the service was.

Its funny how it reminded me of savoring a hearty bowl of chili, but with that distinct ramen twist. 08:15PM On June 3, 2023, customer service was very rude. I went there to buy some ramen to go. These big guy approached me and asked me in an obnoxious manner, Can I help you sir? He asked me like i am lost or in out of place manner rather than as a customer. I then respond, Well, Im here to get a ramen. Although I am aware that my clothing is for house attire. He then asks me again if I want to dine in or did I place an online order. My thoughts are blank at that point due to that rude question before. And so I said I order online which I didnt and I take it back and said I mean I will order here and take as to-go. He then smirk at me and I felt stupid so I just walk away because he isnt helping me on my order anyway. Rude costumer service. I really want to try your ramen but I am not going back here just because of that. Blame that big guy at cashier.

We decided to go here because my partner was raving about this place. Upon our arrival we were greeted. We had gyoza and it was decent. My miso broth chicken ramen was so DELICIOUS, especially with the hot sauce. The atmosphere gave me anime vibes with the different figurines, and Gundams right it the front entrance. I truly enjoyed looking at them all and the ambiance was mellow. Two of my friends who who are not ramen fan really liked their ramen from here which says a lot. The server did an alright job since he was not as attentive as he was with the table next to us but just something to work on. Other than that I recommend you stop by to fulfill your ramen craving.

I didnt think anyone can go wrong with ramen until this place. The WORST ramen ever. No flavor, so bland, no garlic, and it had a pungent smell. They should just stop. Theyre giving ramen a bad name! The hard boiled egg tasted like soap. I hope they read this & fire the cooks or change their recipes! Ugh, so so disappointed!! Waste of $55 (four ramens)!

Completely overrated and borderline fake high rating or high rated but numerous low standard reviewers. Customers are constantly getting up to grab napkins, place is not very clean, fridge is broken, ice bucket that servers fill cups with is out in the open. There s a foul smell of rotten pork fat near the kitchen, not clear what else has gone bad. Quality of ingredients in the dish are average and the pork broth was as unappealing or worse than the package powder types.

Gomen, a once beloved ramen joint, has unfortunately fallen from grace. Supposedly under new ownership, the restaurant has lost its touch. The ramen now tastes more bland than ever before, leaving me feeling unsatisfied after every meal. The broth now lacks depth and is no longer rich and full of miso flavor as it once was in the past. One of the most disappointing aspects of the new Gomen is the increase in prices. This place had the best deal on ramen and was my go to pick in terms of both taste and value. With the price increase, there are far better options. Even at the old price, it is hard to justify this place. On a positive note, the atmosphere remains cozy and inviting. The interior remains the same, if not nicer. However, this isnt enough to make up for the lackluster food and poor service. Overall, Im sad to say that Gomen no longer lives up to its former glory. While I wouldnt discourage others from trying it out, I cant recommend it with the same excitement as before. Three stars is a fair rating for a restaurant that now falls short of expectations. I likely will never return to this restaurant, which was once a very special place to me. Dietary restrictions: there are various noodle options. I believe they have gluten and vegan noodles. Parking: shopping plaza with a fair amount of parking Wheelchair accessibility: there is wheel chair access and seating

I have been to this place several times. I use to give it 5 stars but I dont know what happened on my visit that the Tonkotsu ramen I usually get tasted different a bit salty and smokey. Was the chef having a bad day/off day? This is one of the three ramen places i like - Gomen, Zuru ramen and Silverlake Ramen. Now, Zuru ramen in Artesia is better tasting. However, I will come back again in hopes that it will taste like a 5 star rating.

I known this place has changed the owner or chef. The taste is not the same, it surprised me when they asked me the level of spice! The taste is plain with plenty of spices to overcome the real taste of ramen, also the price is very spicy to compare with the previous owner. You are better to eat the instant ramen at home.

I gave a 5-star review to Gomen before, and unfortunately, this time, it will be a 3-star review. The spicy champon lacked flavor this time. I am not sure if the management has changed. The usual owner wasnt there today when I visited. We were seated and ordered first. My food arrived a good few minutes before my husbands arrived. In between, another tables noodles were served, which it had never happened before to us when the owner was there. I will still go back to give them another chance since I have been there since the early 2003, and this is the only time that was not to perfection.

We had ramen here one night. The ramen is just ok for us. The tonkotsu broth is not our favorite(not quite creamy enough). Egg is cooked well done instead of soft boiled like the typical Japanese ramen place. The barbecue pork and Chashu s flavor is ok. We like that they offer a nice variety of noodle and even a low calorie tofu noodle.

Since this pandemic weve been home dining but its not the same as actually eating out. Ramen and other soup dishes just dont taste the same as they do in the restaurant. Found out that they were allowing done in again and had to go and try it. They have removed much of the tables and there is a lot of space now. Servers take extra caution and they have you use your phone to see the menu, nice because you dont waste paper like other places. The food was great, as always. I like the spinach ramen noodles with my dish. You can always use the yelp app to add yourself to the wait list and to get an idea of how busy they are. My family really like eating here.

Contrary to its appearance and menu lineup, the ramen had a nostalgic feel to it. At its core, it has the same atmosphere as the Chinese noodles I used to eat when I lived in Kanto in the 1990s. Yes, as it was written on the signboard, it is an image of Chinese noodles. There seem to be many different types of noodles, so Id like to try them next time.

The noodles could be cooked a little longer, but the atmosphere is amazing.

My first time eating Japanese comfort food, but for me it was more like a healing food because I felt so good after I ate there cant describe it, the noodles were just perfect and warm and the flavor so tasty, the best part since it was my first time I didnt what to order and the waitress was so nice to explain me in a very easy way how to do it, the place is small but very cozy, we didnt make line but sometimes the line is quite long
